Some say horse racing isn't a matter of life or death, only in this movie it is. In this 1956 film noir called The Killing, we have five men willing to gamble their lives on a heist at a racetrack. Johnny Clay, the mastermind and career criminal, Marvin Unger the backer/hideout man, George Peatty, a racetrack cashier and in a loveless marriage to the heartless Sherry, Mike O'Reilly, bartender and Randy Kennan, shaddy police officer round out the team. We also have to expendable guys standing by. Groucho Marx once said..Man does not control his own fate. The women in his life do that for him and in George's case this is more than true. Sherry his wife has her nose in everything and so does her bit of side beef Val. Life is sometimes like a horse race, exept without the baletting and jockeys. It's just a chance your gonna win or make a killing..wink wink. Staring in this tale of I think we should of bought a bigger suitcase we have....Sterling Hayden as Johnny, Elisha Cook Jr. as George, Jay C. Flippen as Marvin, Joe Sawyer as Mike, Coleen Gray as Johnny's mole Fay, Vince Edwards as Val, Marie Windsor as Sherry and many more suspects and some unusual ones at that. So sit back, place your bets who will make it out, have some Man o'War drinks or if your into non-alcoholic drinks, you can make a Horse's Neck and enjoy. Also thanks so much for watching, hope you enjoyed and if one feels inclined to subscribe, an even bigger THANKS. I also have a small YouTube channel if you care to check out, with movies, music, pets, clowns (yes I said clowns) and much more.....https://www.youtube.com/@RonnieMclassics
