Hello everyone and welcome. Let me start by saying PTSD is a serious disorder. Believe me I know. In today's film from 1946 called The Chase. We have a man named Chuck. Now Chuck is a WW ll veteran, homeless and suffers from bad dreams and even with all this he is not only a good guy but an honest guy. One day Chuck finds a wallet on the street and being the good guy he is, returns it to it's owner. Unbeknownst to Chuck at first, the wallet belongs to a notorious gangster Eddie Roman. Roman has a mean streak, not only does he frighten his henchmen but treats his wife, Lorna just a bad. Eddie likes the fact that Chuck is honest and decides to hire him as his personal driver. Chuck at an ends, takes the job and all the cruelty that goes with it. Eddie has a henchman named Gino, who helps keep on eye on things and his wife. Well, Lorna has had enough and wants out. Chuck still having bad dreams and being in love with her, tries to help and it's off to Cuba or is it. What happens next maybe a dream or a harsh reality. Will Chuck aka Scotty by his boss, find love, happiness and some peace of mind. How much can Gino take and will Eddie ever get his comeuppance. Well we'll just have to sit back and watch. Staring in this tale we have...Robert Cummings as Chuck, Michèle Morgan as Lorna, Steve Cochran as Eddie, Peter Lorre as Gino, Lloyd Corrigan as Emmerich Johnson, Jack Holt as Cmdr. Davidson, Don Wilson as Fats, Alexis Minotis as Lt. Acosta, Nina Koshetz as Madame Chin, Yolanda Lacca as Midnight, James Westerfield as Job the Butler and Jimmy Ames as The Killer. So let's have some beer with whiskey "chasers" aka Boilermakers and see what happens. Also thanks so much for watching.

00:14:14You know, Mr. Johnson had the idea I didn't like him.
00:14:17Just because he took away some of my business.
00:14:20I guess he doesn't know you too well.
00:14:23I must say there aren't many men would have taken it the way your husband has, Mrs. Drummond.

00:28:43I'd say she was contemplating a voyage.
00:28:53She ever said anything to you about it?
00:28:58Why would she tell me?
00:28:59You've got the kind of face women like to talk to.
00:29:03You've got the kind of face women like to talk to.
00:29:29I don't know.
00:29:30I'm not a therapist.
00:29:36I don't know.
00:29:44I don't know.
00:29:46They're not too far off.
00:29:47They're looking all for like a coffee shop.
00:29:47They're the most beautiful came.
00:29:47I don't know.
00:29:48They're taking care of the ladies.
00:29:49I'm not sure what they're doing.
00:29:50They're talking to me about things like a coffee shop.
00:29:53They're health care.
00:29:54They're not too, I'm not too.
00:29:55I'm not too.
00:29:56They're not too.
00:29:56Let's go.
00:30:26Are you deaf, Watson?
00:30:56Eddie, they're gone.
00:31:16Where do you think they've gone, Gino?
00:31:19I don't have to think I know.
00:31:21To Havana on Cuba.
00:31:24Found it in a wastebasket.
00:31:34What do you want me to do?
00:31:38Play the other side.
00:31:40I don't know.
00:31:41I'm so sorry.
00:31:42I know.
00:31:43I'm so sorry.
00:31:44I don't know.
00:31:45I don't know.
00:31:46I'll be right back.
00:31:47I can't see here.
00:31:48I'm sorry.
00:31:49I'm sorry.
00:31:50I can't see here.
00:31:51I can't see here.
00:31:52I can't see here.
00:32:53I didn't know you were a musician.
00:32:58I haven't played in a long time.
00:33:04Still scared?
00:33:07I'm getting over it.
00:33:10But you don't get over three years of terror in one night.
00:33:15He couldn't follow us here.
00:33:17What's our first stop?
00:33:26Havana.
00:33:29It looks like all roads lead to Havana.
00:33:33That's what you wanted, wasn't it?
00:33:35I owe you $1,000.
00:33:49Who did it belong to before?
00:33:51They don't ask you that when you spend it.
00:33:56I owe you $1,000.
00:33:58I owe you $1,000.
00:33:59I owe you $1,000.
00:34:02I owe you $1,000.
00:34:03Well, thanks again.
00:34:05I owe you $1,000.
00:34:07What?
00:34:10PIANO PLAYS
00:34:40Chuck
00:34:52Chuck
00:35:10Chuck
00:35:12Chuck
00:35:40Come here!
00:35:42Come here!
00:35:44Come here!
00:35:48Let's take a drink!
00:35:50Let's take a drink!
00:35:52Let's take a drink!
00:36:10Let's take a drink!
00:36:20I love you, John.
00:36:22I love you, Lord.
00:36:32That's not our book.
00:36:36How much time do we have?
00:36:38What time?
00:36:40You think we'll make it?
00:36:44We've got to.
00:36:46Señor, el caballo no puede estar aquí toda la noche.
00:36:54What are we stopping here for?
00:36:56El caballo no puede estar aquí toda la noche.
00:36:58What was that?
00:37:00The horse is tired.
00:37:02Take us back to the boat.
00:37:06Did you hear me? Take us back to the boat.
00:37:08Somebody told you the horse is tired.
00:37:10Chuck.
00:37:12Let's get out.
00:37:22Say, uh...
00:37:24Our boat leaves in an hour for South America.
00:37:26How much of a walk is from near the docks?
00:37:28I don't understand English.
00:37:30Let's go, Pancho!
00:37:32What did he say?
00:37:34Something about not understanding English.
00:37:36You must not understand money either.
00:37:38Didn't take his fare.
00:37:40Chuck, what do we do now?
00:37:42I don't know.
00:37:44Uh...
00:37:46Let's get a drink.
00:37:48All right.
00:37:50Wait a minute.
00:37:52We should go back to the boat.
00:37:54Who's afraid now?
00:37:56Who's afraid now?
00:37:58Who's afraid now?
00:38:00Who's afraid now?
00:38:02Who's afraid now?
00:38:04Who's afraid?
00:38:06Who are we going to the docks?
00:38:08Good morning.
00:38:10Who's afraid now?
00:38:12Uh...
00:38:13Oh, played.
00:38:14From home, I piled up.
00:38:16Still scared?
00:38:46Pardon, senor.
00:39:16Leave that boat.
00:39:46Where lovers capture, moments of rapture, my heart will always be.
00:40:16Havana, like the stars in a dream song, and guitars in a theme song, you're a promise of love.
00:40:33Oh, my brother, lovers thrill to your splendor, as your harbors surrender to the moon high above.
00:40:53Don't need any steam in here.
00:40:59The steamboat.
00:41:25Tell me again.
00:41:26I love you, darling. I love you.
00:41:33Darling, I don't care what happens now. I just don't care.
00:41:37Laura, don't keep saying that. Please don't keep saying it.
00:41:42I won't. I won't say it anymore. Because I do care.
00:41:48I don't care.
00:41:50Havana, will you win the tomorrow, dimless fashion to sorrow, break your promise of love.
00:42:06No.
00:42:07No.
00:42:08What's the matter?
00:42:09Laura!
00:42:10Oh.
00:42:11Laura.
00:42:14Laura?
00:42:15You won't say it anymore.
00:42:24I won't say it anymore.
00:42:26I won't say it anymore.
00:42:27Mark on a scarf.
00:42:55Knife wound, no other marks.
00:43:03We're waiting, Mr. Scott.
00:43:08Oh, can I make you understand you've got the wrong man?
00:43:15I loved her.
00:43:16You loved her so you killed her.
00:43:19That's understandable.
00:43:22She was all I had.
00:43:23So you made sure no one could take her from you.
00:43:26Oh, you're blind.
00:43:28Why would we come all this way together?
00:43:30I let you tell me why.
00:43:33Just answer three questions.
00:43:36How long had this woman been in Havana?
00:43:41Oh, we got off the boat around six o'clock this evening.
00:43:46Eight hours ago.
00:43:49Had she ever been here before?
00:43:50No.
00:43:51No.
00:43:52Did she know anyone here?
00:43:53Anyone at all?
00:43:54No.
00:43:55There is your answer.
00:43:57Do you still insist somebody else did it?
00:43:59In a place where she had just arrived?
00:44:01In a place where she had never been in her life before?
00:44:04And above all, with your own knife?
00:44:06It wasn't my knife.
00:44:07But you just admitted a moment ago it was your knife.
00:44:09I didn't admit it was my knife.
00:44:10I merely said it looked like my knife, but it wasn't.
00:44:12Oh, yes.
00:44:13Now I remember.
00:44:15The knife you bought.
00:44:17You did buy a knife.
00:44:18Yes!
00:44:19I bought a knife!
00:44:20Save your strength, my friend.
00:44:21You may need it.
00:44:28Your knife.
00:44:30Let me see.
00:44:33Describe it again, please.
00:44:34On the handle of the knife I had, the little carved monkey was holding his ears.
00:44:45The knife you've got, he's covering his eyes.
00:44:46You can see that.
00:44:47He's covering his eyes, but not mine.
00:44:50Don't joke.
00:44:51If you don't believe me, ask the shopkeeper.
00:44:53Find out what kind of a knife I bought.
00:44:54Are you sure this is the place?
00:45:05Yeah, yeah.
00:45:06That's it.
00:45:08I repeat, for a stranger in Havana, you certainly found an out-of-the-way place in a very much of a hurry.
00:45:14We didn't find it.
00:45:16I told you a guide brought us here.
00:45:18I know.
00:45:19The guide who kept pestering you.
00:45:20The one who drove you to the nightclub, huh?
00:45:22You don't believe anything, do you?
00:45:25My clients have a chronic tendency to color the truth.
00:45:32You first, Mr. Scott.
00:45:41Just a moment, please.
00:45:42Not so quick.
00:45:53Where's Chin?
00:45:57I'm Chin.
00:45:59I'm Lieutenant Acosta, Homicide Squad.
00:46:05What can I do for you?
00:46:06Madam, would you please tell the gentleman...
00:46:08We'll ask the questions.
00:46:12Take a look at this man here.
00:46:15Did you ever see him before?
00:46:16Yes.
00:46:18When?
00:46:21The gentleman was here earlier tonight.
00:46:23Alone?
00:46:24No, he was with the lady.
00:46:27Did he buy anything?
00:46:29Silk handkerchief for a lady.
00:46:32That all?
00:46:34The gentleman also bought a knife.
00:46:36What kind of knife?
00:46:37A knife with a jade handle.
00:46:40To cut letters.
00:46:41To cut fruit.
00:46:43To hang on a wall, maybe?
00:46:45Describe the jade handle.
00:46:47A jade handle had a carved monkey.
00:46:49We know that.
00:46:50Describe the monkey.
00:46:52Monkey was holding his eyes.
00:46:54So.
00:46:57You're crazy.
00:46:58I bought the one that was holding his ears.
00:47:01The gentleman is mistaken.
00:47:04Are you sure the one he bought was holding its eyes?
00:47:07They come three to a set.
00:47:09First one assaulted his gentleman.
00:47:11The others I still have.
00:47:13I can show you.
00:47:14Show me.
00:47:22These are imported from Hong Kong.
00:47:24I only wanted one set.
00:47:27Costs too much.
00:47:29Never sold any except to this gentleman.
00:47:33See?
00:47:39Well, Mr. Scott?
00:47:45I don't understand.
00:47:48I'm sure I bought this one.
00:47:50The one that's holding its ears.
00:47:52Why did you buy any knife?
00:47:53I didn't buy a knife.
00:47:55I mean, I didn't intend to buy a knife, but...
00:47:57Lorna was looking for jade,
00:47:58and she said the only jade she had was on the knife handles.
00:48:02The one we finally bought was this one.
00:48:05The one that's holding its ears.
00:48:07Perhaps Madame Chin switched to the knives, huh?
00:48:10She must have.
00:48:14Did you ever see Chin before?
00:48:19No.
00:48:20Then why would she change the knives?
00:48:23I don't know.
00:48:24Answer me!
00:48:25Why would she change the knives?
00:48:26Why would she change the knives?
00:48:30I don't know.
00:48:31Because you are a stranger, and only because you are a stranger, we've given you every chance to clear yourself.
00:48:36You should have been locked up an hour ago.
00:48:37Admit it.
00:48:38You know you killed her.
00:48:39You should have been locked up an hour ago.
00:48:40Admit it.
00:48:41You know you killed her.
00:48:42Admit it!
00:48:43All right.
00:48:44All right.
00:48:45Then you did kill her.
00:48:47Then you did kill her.
00:48:48Yes.
00:48:49Yes.
00:48:50Why, Mr. Scott?
00:48:51Why, Mr. Scott?
00:48:52Why, Mr. Scott?
00:48:53Why?
00:48:54Why, Mr. Scott?
00:48:55Why, Mr. Scott?
00:48:57Why?
00:48:58Why?
00:48:59Why?
00:49:00I'm not sure I am.
00:49:01Why?
00:49:02Why?
00:49:03Why?
00:49:04Why?
00:49:06Admit it!
00:49:10All right.
00:49:13Then you did kill her.
00:49:17Yes.
00:49:18Why, Mr. Scott?
00:49:26Because she was afraid.
00:49:29Because she wanted to go back.
00:49:30Back? Where?
00:49:32To her husband.
00:49:33Her husband?
00:49:35Her name wasn't Mrs. Scott.
00:49:37Her name was Mrs. Eddie Roman.
00:49:41We left Miami together last night on the Cuba.
00:49:43We docked here this morning.
00:49:45Didn't leave our cabin until it was dark.
00:49:46Wound up in that nightclub.
00:49:50We had a drink there.
00:49:57Mr. Scott,
00:49:59you are a gentleman.
00:50:03Only from the viewpoint of the police, of course.
00:50:07How is he going?
00:50:12Pablo!
00:50:13What's there?
00:50:14All right.
00:50:17Come on, sir!
00:50:18Come on, sir!
00:50:19Come on, sir!
00:50:20Let's go!
00:50:31Let's go!
00:50:33Get up!
00:50:33What's going on?
00:50:34Let's go!
00:50:35Let's go.
00:51:05¡Un momento!
00:51:09¿No viste su nombre?
00:51:10Sí, subió hasta el último piso allá.
00:51:13¡Arriba!
00:51:14Llégase aquí.
00:51:15Muy bien, jefe.
00:51:22El escape de la gente.
00:51:29Vamos a encargar abajo.
00:51:30Está buena idea, Ana.
00:51:35¡Gracias!
00:52:05¡Gracias!
00:52:07¡Gracias!
00:52:09¡Gracias!
00:52:10¡Gracias!
00:52:12¡Gracias!
00:52:13¡Gracias!
00:52:14¡Gracias!
00:52:23¡Gracias!
00:52:24.
00:52:45Acosta.
00:52:58Vamos a buscarlo. Tiene que estar aquí adentro.
00:53:04¡Abra la puerta! ¡Es la autoridad!
00:53:09¡Abra la puerta!
00:53:12¡Adelante!
00:53:24¡Seguro! ¡Vamos!
00:53:29¡Abra la puerta!
00:53:37¡Gracias a lot!
00:53:43Say, you...
00:53:45You never saw me before.
00:53:47But you helped me.
00:53:50Why?
00:53:50Cups.
00:53:54I hate cups.
00:53:59Is there, uh...
00:54:00Any other way out of here?
00:54:02Only the way you came in.
00:54:06A very kind of?
00:54:07Yeah.
00:54:09Yeah, I'm an American.
00:54:11Miss, I just thought of something.
00:54:13Do you know the man that takes the pictures at the La Habana Club?
00:54:15You know, the little flashlights photographs?
00:54:18Not that it matters now, but...
00:54:20I just thought that...
00:54:22Maybe he did guess something.
00:54:24And if he did...
00:54:25It might...
00:54:36There was a big room.
00:54:38And you know...
00:54:40And he could have looked at me.
00:54:40And you had just bought something.
00:54:41We could have, uh...
00:54:42A lot of times...
00:54:43No, no.
00:54:45And you could have thought about the...
00:54:46It matters!
00:55:17Peppy?
00:55:24Peppy?
00:55:28Peppy?
00:55:47Peppy?
00:55:56Peppy?
00:56:00Peppy?
00:56:06No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:56:21We pay you the same as we paid the last time and not one cent more.
00:56:25Then perhaps I do business elsewhere.
00:56:28Look, we run the stuff across, not you.
00:56:30What do you have to do? Just wear out that seat.
00:56:33Of course, that you do.
00:56:34I don't mind assuming the usual business risks,
00:56:37but when it comes to knifing women...
00:56:39Knifing women? All you did is switch a couple of knives.
00:56:43I had a visit from the police tonight.
00:56:46They asked a lot of questions.
00:56:48In our business, you can't afford visits from the police.
00:56:52No.
00:56:53What?
00:56:54No.
00:56:57No.
00:56:57Let's go.
00:57:27Let's go.
00:57:57Let's go.
00:58:27Listen, I'm getting tired of this.
00:58:38For the last time, the same stuff, the same place, and the same price.
00:58:43No deal.
00:58:45No?
00:58:47Then you're out of business.
00:58:49I don't think so.
00:58:50No.
00:58:51Who's going to buy your stuff?
00:58:53You are.
00:58:54Yeah?
00:58:55Why?
00:58:56If you don't, certain people may find out certain things which you might not want mention.
00:59:05Sorry you said that.
00:59:07I'm sorry it had to be said.
00:59:09I'm sorry!
00:59:09Come on!
00:59:39Let's go.
01:00:09Let's go.
01:00:39Let's go.
01:01:09Let's go.
01:01:39Let's go.
01:02:09Let's go.
01:02:39Let's go.
01:03:09Hello, Jack.
01:03:11You said if I ever needed you, I could call.
01:03:16Well, I need you now.
01:03:19Yes, sir.
01:03:20Well, it's happened again.
01:03:24Yes, sir.
01:03:26Yes, sir.
01:03:29I'll be there as soon as I get there.
01:03:33Thanks, sir.
01:03:35Take it easy, Chuck.
01:03:42Now, let's try and start with the beginning.
01:03:46There doesn't seem to be the beginning.
01:03:47There doesn't seem to be any beginning.
01:03:51All I can remember is the end of it.
01:03:57sit down, sir.
01:04:07Sit down, Chuck.
01:04:07Sit down, Chuck.
01:04:07Sit down, Chuck.
01:04:12Yeah, but this outfit, where'd I get this uniform, and the room I woke up in, how'd I get in that house?
01:04:25Let's talk about what you remember.
01:04:30Forget about the uniform.
01:04:31Well, yes, I was running away from the police, in Havana, in the middle of the night.
01:04:38But, Chuck, you haven't been to Havana in three or four years, to my knowledge, so we can eliminate that.
01:04:45That's dream stuff.
01:04:46But the girl that you met here in Miami, that's real.
01:04:50The girl that you drove to the beach, the one that wanted to know what's out there straight ahead.
01:04:57That girl.
01:04:59Yes.
01:05:03But that's all I remember.
01:05:07What she said.
01:05:10But the beach, you said you remembered the beach.
01:05:14Yeah, the beach.
01:05:17But that's all.
01:05:19Why do you keep looking at the clock?
01:05:23I don't know, Doc.
01:05:26I keep feeling that there's something that I've got to do.
01:05:30Don't let that worry you.
01:05:32That's symptomatic in shock cases.
01:05:35But you did remember to call me.
01:05:38You did remember to come here.
01:05:40You're pretty well out of it, Chuck.
01:05:45Yes, but I keep feeling that I...
01:05:46I know.
01:05:47Technically, this would be identified, in a case such as yours, as an anxiety neurosis.
01:05:54That sounds terrible, doesn't it?
01:05:57But it's not, Chuck.
01:05:58Believe me, it's not.
01:05:59You understand?
01:06:00Yes, sir.
01:06:04Yes, sir.
01:06:05I still keep feeling that I've...
01:06:11I got the tickets from about at least 11 o'clock tonight.
01:06:24Now, listen carefully.
01:06:25Half dinner with them as usual.
01:06:27At 9 o'clock you say you want to take a drive.
01:06:29I'll be waiting in my room.
01:06:30See you later.
01:06:32Be happy, Lorna.
01:06:44We're going to have fun tonight.
01:06:46I'm going to take you out.
01:06:48We'll go to the Florida club.
01:06:50Or would you rather go for a ride?
01:06:52Take a look at the ocean.
01:06:54Scotty showed me a rendezvous this afternoon.
01:06:59Got a very nice fuel.
01:07:10Very nervous this evening, Lorna.
01:07:12What's the matter?
01:07:14Job.
01:07:15Yes, ma'am.
01:07:16Will you please tell Scotty to bring the car around?
01:07:19Scotty's gone.
01:07:24Yeah, quit.
01:07:26He saw him leave.
01:07:28He even yelled after him.
01:07:30Didn't even turn around.
01:07:32It's going to cost you 125 bucks for a new uniform.
01:07:37Still want to go for that ride?
01:07:41Thanks, now.
01:07:54Good evening, Commander.
01:07:57Good evening, Ben.
01:07:58What did you bring me here for, sir?
01:07:59Ah, your drink.
01:08:00Still like bourbon?
01:08:01Yes, sir.
01:08:02Two bourbons and water, Ben.
01:08:03Yes, sir.
01:08:04The drink will do you a lot of good.
01:08:05It'll help you to let go, relieve the tension.
01:08:07That's all you need, Chuck.
01:08:09Ben, turn the clock to the wall.
01:08:10What's the idea?
01:08:11My friend is a clock watcher.
01:08:16Thank you, sir.
01:08:17Thank you, Mr.
01:09:36I don't understand you, Lana.
01:10:00I just don't understand you.
01:10:07Why don't you answer it?
01:10:15Might be Scotty.
01:10:17It couldn't be Scotty.
01:10:19How could it be Scotty?
01:10:21Gino said that...
01:10:22Maybe he quit.
01:10:23Maybe he didn't.
01:10:25Answer the phone.
01:10:32Answer it.
01:10:37Hello.
01:10:38It's for you.
01:10:44Yes?
01:10:45Who wants to talk to him?
01:10:51The Fats.
01:10:52Yeah, I wanted to see you.
01:10:53Talk to you about your place.
01:10:58Yeah, I'll be right over.

01:11:42The End
01:12:12Mr. Johnson was an obstinate man. I don't like obstinate people.
01:12:35A.D.
01:12:42A.D., can't we talk things over together like two civilized human beings?
01:12:54All I want.
01:12:55I know. All you want is to leave this house.
01:12:58The way I came in.
01:13:01I had nothing then and I'm asking for nothing when I leave.
01:13:06Just let me go.
01:13:07Living in this house for three years, you must have found out a lot of things.
01:13:18I wouldn't tell anyone.
01:13:26Joe.
01:13:29A.D.
01:13:29A.D.
01:13:29Please, A.D.
01:13:32Don't have him lock me in.
01:13:45Joe.
01:13:48Joe.
01:13:49Keep this door locked, Joe.
01:14:01Mrs. Romans, not to leave her room till I get back.
01:14:04Understand?
01:14:05Yes, sir.
01:14:17Doc.
01:14:20Her name was Lona.
01:14:26Lona.
01:14:26Lona, what?
01:14:38Lona, what?
01:14:41What was her name?
01:14:44Good evening, Mr. Roman.
01:14:46Hello, Sally. How are you?
01:14:47Fine, thank you.
01:14:48Good evening.
01:14:48Hello, Albert.
01:14:49Thank you, Mr. Roman.
01:14:52Good evening, Eddie.
01:14:53Hi, Eddie.
01:14:54Hi, Eddie.
01:14:56How's Mrs. Roman tonight?
01:15:03Quite well, thank you, Albert.
01:15:04Shall we join you later?
01:15:05No.
01:15:07How about a little supper, Mr. Roman?
01:15:09No, I think I'd like a bottle of wine.
01:15:11L'Anson 28.
01:15:14Yes, sir.
01:15:15L'Anson 28 here.
01:15:16Yes, sir.
01:15:17Eddie, why don't you let me have him picked up?
01:15:25How far can he get in that uniform?
01:15:27He'll grab him in a minute.
01:15:32Chuck, I've got to make a phone call.
01:15:34We'll be back in a minute.
01:15:35Yes.
01:15:36Are you listening?
01:15:46Why don't you let me have him picked up?
01:15:50What I want to know, I can't ask him in the police station.
01:15:53Oh.
01:15:55What do you think the deal was?
01:15:58Eddie, don't get mad, but they had something cooked up.
01:16:02What I can't get is the guy running out.
01:16:05Maybe he didn't.
01:16:09Look, Dr. Davison.
01:16:21Hello.
01:16:24I'm still at the Florida Club, just for a reason.
01:16:28Oh.
01:16:29Well, I'll be back in about a half an hour.
01:16:32Bye.
01:16:35Oh, Doc.
01:16:40Oh, hello, Rowan.
01:16:45Hello, Doc.

01:16:50Commander, huh?
01:16:51Look at all this spinach.
01:16:53You've done all right for yourself.
01:16:55Not bad.
01:16:57How's Mrs. Rowan?
01:16:58Fine, thanks.
01:17:00I haven't seen you since you joined.
01:17:02Yes, it has been some time.
01:17:03Oh, why won't you sit down and join us?
01:17:06No, thank you.
01:17:07I have a friend waiting for me at the ball.
01:17:09When are you getting out?
01:17:33I may stay in.
01:17:35How do you like Sawyer?
01:17:37Turned your practice over to a small guy.
01:17:38I like him very much.
01:17:40So does Lorna.
01:17:43Lorna.
01:17:44Lorna.
01:17:46Mrs. Rowman.
01:17:48Why, of course.
01:17:49It was silly of me.
01:17:51Sure you won't join us for that drink?
01:17:53No, thank you.
01:17:54My friend's still waiting for me.
01:17:56Nice seeing you.
01:17:57Remember me to your wife.
01:17:58Well, hello, Job.
01:18:23Job, keep away from that door.
01:18:26Oh, yeah, that's right.
01:18:27Job, life in the Bible.
01:18:43Oh, John.

01:18:56I didn't think you believed any other things I told you.
01:19:00I believed you.
01:19:01You want to buy your best, Fancy?
01:19:14Sure, I'd like to send you the place, Eddie, but I don't like the way you buy.
01:19:18Pardon me.
01:19:19Will you okay this check?
01:19:23Aren't you afraid you missed your boat, Eddie?
01:19:25What did you say, Fancy?
01:19:31I said, aren't you afraid you'll miss your boat?
01:19:34What boat?
01:19:36Aren't you leaving for Havana tonight?
01:19:39What are you talking about?
01:19:41I swear I saw your car at the docks this afternoon.
01:19:48Okay.
01:19:50It's a secret.
01:19:50It's all right.
01:19:52Start all over.
01:19:53Only slower this time.
01:19:55I saw your chauffeur.
01:19:56Buy two tickets for her.
01:20:00Skip it.
01:20:02I didn't see a thing.
01:20:04Gina, I'll call the house.
01:20:25If they're on the Cuba, they left 15 minutes ago.
01:20:33If they're on the Cuba, they left 15 minutes ago, but I don't think they're on the Cuba.
01:20:36Don't ask me why, because I don't know.
01:20:38I don't think they're on the Cuba.
01:20:39If I'm not mistaken, I'll find them on the...
01:20:43Yeah, here it is.
01:20:47The Cristobal.
01:20:48Freighter.
01:20:50He's pure 42, 1130.
01:20:56Watch the road.
01:20:57I'm taking over.
01:20:58What time are we shoving off?
01:21:14The rates are loading.
01:21:15Another hour, maybe two.
01:21:17No, they're still loading.
01:21:19We won't pull out of here for another hour yet.
01:21:21I'll stay down on the pier until we leave.
01:21:23Bad break.
01:21:24Only two ships leaving for Havana tonight.
01:21:26This and the Cuba.
01:21:47Keep this door open.
01:22:17Please don't engage.

01:23:51I didn't think you'd ever get back.
01:23:58Chuck, will this boat ever get started?
01:24:01It doesn't matter now.
01:24:03What do you mean?
01:24:13Tell me again.
01:24:15I love you.
