00:58daniela fonseca on the way to joint bronze in the women's singles on the final day of the caribbean
01:04regional table tennis championships this has to be um one of my best senior tournament experiences
01:12because i won my first ever senior medal in singles i have i have two medals in senior teams but this is
01:20my first ever medal in singles so it was the most special fraser is hoping to be stronger mentally she
01:26is ranked 300th in the world at the senior level and is hoping to increase her rankings by climbing up
01:32the rounds she will not be taking her opponents for granted she reflected on the surprise of victory
01:39this tournament i beat a two-time olympian as well as some highly ranked table tennis players in the
01:45spanish-speaking caribbean and even the english-speaking caribbean i beat number 50 in the
01:50world in under 19 so yeah it was a tricky battle until the end my mind was more free and i was more
01:58confident because i had beaten number 50 the day before so i was more relaxed and i told myself listen
02:04she's a two-time olympian nobody expecting you to win so just go out there and play free play the tennis
02:10that you know how to play and you know hope for the best one point away from victory what was going
02:15through your mind honestly um i was up ten eight and then she came ten nine and she did that in the
02:23previous set and she ended up winning the set so i took a time out and i was telling myself you know
02:29what just play free clear your mind and go out and play this point whatever happens happens because god
02:34didn't bring it this far to leave you he didn't give you these three games to just leave you hanging there
02:40so i just went and i made one of the worst receives in my life and she happened to hit the ball off the
02:46table and i just knew that that was god because in no way you just hit that ball off the table it was
02:52a perfect ball fraser says she was delighted with the win and described the competition as rough as she
02:57said tiredness prevented her from perhaps going all the way she has now set her sights on the junior
03:03pan-american championships with the hope of one day competing at the youth olympics sergio defoe tv6 sport
