00:00All right, hi people, it's Chase here, and I'm here to do an embossing for you guys today of
00:05Doctor Who Series 14 slash Season 1. I don't like that they rebranded it to Series, or Season 1,
00:14because, uh, you know, there's already a Doctor Who Season 1, and it's from 1963,
00:20and there's Doctor Who Series 1 from 2005. Yeah, so I believe that this is still produced under
00:28the Series 14 moniker, but they changed it because of Disney, uh, getting the distribution rates
00:35and everything internationally outside of the UK, so, yeah, and that is really weird, uh, because we
00:43just started with the David Tennant specials in regards to their era of co-producing the show,
00:48but, yeah, um, but yeah, so, yeah, so, and this was delayed over a year or almost a year
00:58after the, um, UK release, like, the 60th anniversary special set was because of Disney's distribution
01:06of it, so, yeah, um, so, up front here, yeah, shooty got was 15th Doctor, the Doctor Who logo,
01:15uh, uh, the TARDIS and everything just flying through space, which is nice, uh, Season 1,
01:23we have the Disney Plus logo, Blu-ray, 7-disc, disc set, and all that, um, so, yeah,
01:33so, in here, we have the Spine, BBC, Doctor Who, Season 1, and all that, so, so, on the other side,
01:39in the back, we have a picture of 15th Doctor and Ruby Sunday with the description of the season
01:47and the set, some screenshots from some of the episodes, includes more than six hours of additional
01:52material, including Doctor Who Unleashed episodes and other special features, and everything says
01:58who that's, um, starring, and everything, High Division 10 AP, slash 2.1, or 2x1, DTS HD Master
02:08Audio 5.1, uh, 434 minutes approximately, Region 1, they mean Region A, I don't know why they keep
02:14getting that wrong, Color, NTSC, Subtitles, English, SDH, Audient Subtitles may vary, and all that,
02:21um, so, yeah, so here we go with the Blu-ray case, same stuff as the slipcover, and yeah,
02:30so on the inside here, we have pretty much one disc per episode, just about, um, but, yeah,
02:36they kind of set this up like the Classic Who Blu-rays, if you guys have not seen any of my videos
02:42on those, yeah, these are basically how they're set up, where they have, like, one disc per, like,
02:47each story, and they pack them with as many bonus features as they can from either previous DVDs,
02:53or stuff that they produced directly for that, uh, release, so, yeah, and then sometimes they have
02:59two discs, because they can't cram them all into one, so, yeah, so, disc one, two, three, so, okay,
03:10so these have two episodes per, four, five, six, they have all the Doctor Who Unleashed episodes on
03:18this disc, I guess, and this one, so that's interesting, I would have thought that they
03:23would have had the Doctor Who Unleashed episodes on the discs with the actual episodes on them, um,
03:31so my assumption is maybe these are 25 gigabyte discs as opposed to 50 gigabyte discs,
03:35because I'm assuming that they use for the Classic Who Blu-rays, um, let me try and get
03:41one of them, I was gonna do this before I shot the video, but then I forgot, so if we compare
03:53it to a Classic Who Blu-ray, this is the, this is season one of those, so that's the McCoy
03:59Blu-ray sets, you see that they're basically the same setup with all that, um, so, yeah,
04:08plus, uh, same, about the same size, because this is a seven disc set, this is an eight disc
04:12set, so about the same size for the Blu-ray case, different Blu-ray cases, but they're
04:17basically the same, um, this is basically what would happen, or what it would be if all of
04:23these after, um, the first two Tom Baker sets that they released, the first, uh, Peter
04:31Davison said that they released, kept having slipcovers, because for some reason they stopped
04:35them after those, and I don't know why, but, yeah, um, that's basically it, I don't know
04:41why they're doing that, um, it's also a very similar setup to the 60th anniversary specials,
04:47which, if you have not seen my video on that, basically, they just have one special per
04:51disc, as well as a good amount of the bonus features, and the, uh, Doctor Who Unleashed
04:56episodes on them, not the, uh, prequel, uh, like, mini episode that they made that was
05:04for Children in Need in 2023, I don't know why they didn't do that, or didn't have that
05:10on those discs, especially when, like, we have the other Children in Need stuff on other
05:14releases, that is a huge oversight to me, but, yeah, uh, luckily it's on their YouTube
05:20channel, so you can just download it, but it's really dumb that you can't have just,
05:24like, a raw, like, video file for that on those discs, but, yeah, and then we compare
05:31it to, let's, to the 12 series set, and that doesn't really make much difference which one
05:37I pulled out from series 1 to 13, because, uh, yeah, where they just have multiple episodes
05:44per disc, and only, like, a handful of, like, bonus features, if at all, so, yeah, you can
05:50see very sparse bonus features during this era, but that's no surprise, because Chris Chibnall
05:56era is not really made for bonus features, but, yeah, you can just see that, that's a very,
06:02it's a smaller Blu-ray case, because it's only three discs, whereas this has seven, and
06:06I, I assume they want to get more bang, they want to give you, they want to try to give
06:10you more bang for your buck, but, yeah, so I imagine season 2 is roughly the same, don't
06:15know if that's come out in the UK yet, um, but when that comes out over here, I'm assuming
06:20it'll be next year, we'll see, but, yeah, so, guys, uh, not much else to say, so, link
06:25to the description on the shit, subscribe for once, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
