00:00Genius Sports, we've talked about them a bunch of times here on the show,
00:04tech company that is extending their partnership with the National Football League. Tell us more
00:08about Genius Sports and why this matters in our industry. Yeah, you might not know the name
00:14Genius Sports if you're a better or a fan, but you do know what they do. They power the live stats
00:22behind the NFL broadcasts. So that's anytime they get into like the nitty gritty of here's how many
00:27miles per hour Patrick Mahomes is throwing here or the percentage of a catch on this play. All the
00:33cool stats you see on the broadcast, it's all powered by Genius Sports. And that's because
00:37they're the exclusive data rights provider of the NFL. Now they also do a lot with betting. So they
00:43give all those all that data to sportsbooks as well. And that allows live betting to really exist
00:48for them to collect data for them to offer these kind of markets. So they just extended their
00:53partnership with the NFL through 2029, which is pretty big news in the tech space. It's going to
00:59allow Genius to potentially have ads in sportsbooks, potentially through the live betting experience,
01:05potentially have more digital ads on the NFL broadcast. So investors are really happy about
01:11that news in Genius. The stock jumped about 3%. But what it could mean for us, the consumers,
01:17the bettors is that we're going to have more real time powered live stats, live betting on the
01:22broadcast. Obviously, technology is going to continue to get better. And because Genius has
01:26extended this partnership, it just signals that they're going to keep investing in this space.
01:31And we could see some really interesting new markets this NFL season. I'm still waiting on,
01:36you know, whether or not you can bet how fast a quarterback is throwing. And I don't think we're
01:40far away. And I think this partnership signifies it, especially with the commitment from the NFL.
