00:00We've got a problem going on in Philadelphia right now, and it's becoming a national issue when it comes to
00:06covering sports.
00:07So this past week, you have the story of A.J. Brown as the countdown continues to June 1, when
00:14he'll be dealt, in my opinion, to the New England Patriots.
00:18So I tweeted this out here, and I will tell you flat out that the Philadelphia media has lost who
00:25they are and forgot who they serve.
00:29They do not serve their readers, and they do not serve their viewers.
00:35So not one question was asked when it came to the head coach when he had his first press conference
00:41before their OTAs of A.J. Brown whatsoever.
00:46Sean Manning, the brand-new offensive coordinator, was not asked one question.
00:51Questions as simple as this.
00:53What do you think the new offense will look like without a superstar like A.J. Brown?
00:57Why is Jalen Hurts working out with a coach that Nick Sirianni fired instead of working out with the brand
01:07-new coaches that he has there in the building?
01:09When you have an organization that is controlling the media, and you have one of the worst PR men in
01:17the history of the National Football League and Bob Lang handling all of this and telling the media you can
01:23ask this question or you can ask that question, you talk about censorship, you talk about people who are worried
01:30about key fobs and accessibility.
01:33You're not really giving you and the viewers and your listeners what you're hired to do, your job, covering a
01:43team.
01:44Just because a team doesn't want you to ask a question because it makes the organization look bad, because everything
01:51that Howie Roseman says, the general manager, our job is to acquire great players.
01:56And when you lose a player like A.J. Brown, because they don't want to play with the quarterback, and
02:02he doesn't like the head football coach, and he wants to leave that organization where he was 50 and 18
02:07in the last four years, ended up making over $32 million a year, and one of the best wide receivers
02:14in all of pro football.
02:16And when the organization is more worried about being butthurt when it comes to the media and how they're perceived,
02:22this is how you have controlled media.
02:25There is no doubt.
02:27How do you not ask the head football coach, the greatest wide receiver in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles
02:35for a five-year span, excuse me, four-year span, the question, how is your offense, and how is that
02:41going to look without A.J. Brown on it?
02:45And you would just ignore the question?
02:47For an entire week, they did not ask the question.
02:52How do you not ask the new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, who was hired under the premise, he would have
02:57Devontae Smith and A.J. Brown?
03:01You don't ask one question?
03:03And now the Philadelphia Eagles and their wide receiving core are Devontae Smith, who is an unproven one, and nowhere
03:11on the planet has he proven he's a one.
03:13And go down this lane, he was drafted the 10th overall player taken the following year to Philadelphia Eagles, make
03:20a trade for A.J. Brown in Tennessee, and give up a first-round pick.
03:25He's never proven he's a number one.
03:27Can he be?
03:28Most likely.
03:29Then you're going to put in the two-hole, you're going to put in a rookie and Makai Lemon.
03:35Hey, I like Makai Lemon.
03:36I voted for him for the Boletnikoff Award.
03:39I was one of the top 15 players, but when you're telling me that your wide receiving core this year
03:45is better than what it's been the last four years, make that make sense that you don't ask one question
03:51about A.J. Brown the entire week, two coaches and two players.
03:58At least Jalen Hurts answered what it's going to be like with the new group.
04:02He never really gave you a pointed answer.
04:05He told you that I really love the guys that we have with Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, and also bringing
04:11in Dontavian Wicks, who they made a trade for.
04:14All the things they did in the offseason, they traded up three spots to get Makai Lemon.
04:20They went out and they did give Dontavian Wicks a $14 million deal.
04:26They've been operating the entire time without the notion of having A.J. Brown for the 26th season.
04:32There's no question.
04:34Those were some of the biggest questions that needed to be asked.
04:38But instead, the Philadelphia media, which used to be revered, is now soft.
04:45Officially soft.
04:46Because the PR director there, Bob Lang of the Philadelphia Eagles, has basically censored the media in Philadelphia.
04:55I don't know how any way you look at it.
04:58Do your job.
04:59Your job is there for your viewers.
05:01Your job is there for your readers.
05:03You don't work for the Philadelphia Eagles, dude.
05:06You work for your viewers and the people who read you.
05:10Makes no sense you don't ask a question like that.
05:13And ask multiple questions.
05:16That used to be one of the most revered markets in all of sports.
05:20Now, it's soft.
