00:00So let me ask you about this Knickerbocker team here that's sitting waiting.
00:03I mean, you know, now you've got a lot of rest here waiting to see what happens in the WCF
00:07here, the Western Conference Finals.
00:09How good is this Knick team?
00:10You think they have a real shot at winning the NBA championship this year?
00:16Yeah, absolutely.
00:17They're going to be probably six-and-a-half-point dogs to OKC if they play OKC in the finals
00:21in the game one.
00:23Probably four, four-and-a-half-point dogs to the Spurs.
00:26But if you look on a neutral court, I mean, the Spurs are maybe one-and-a-half points better.
00:32OKC's maybe three-and-a-half points better.
00:34So when the Knicks do play at home, games are probably going to be a pick-em, or maybe the
00:38Spurs are going to be minus one against either team.
00:41They've got a great shot.
00:42All they've got to do is steal one game.
00:44And with the chip on Jalen Brunson's shoulder, and this Knicks team's gritty, they've got size down low.
00:51They don't turn the ball over.
00:52He's been playing lights out.
00:53They play a lot, and they're very efficient basketball.
00:56They have the largest margin of victory in NBA playoffs in the last 40 years this year.
01:01I mean, they're just peaking at the right time.
01:02I know their center's got a broken finger.
01:04It might affect them shooting-wise, but on the defensive side of the ball, I think he's going to be
01:08fine.
01:09They've got a real shot of winning the NBA championship.
01:12Now, is OKC better on paper?
01:13Yeah, but that's why they play the game.
01:15Are the Spurs better on paper?
01:16Yeah, but like I said, you've still got to play the game.
01:19And Jalen Brunson's a winner.
01:22You know, he had two national championships at Villanova.
01:24He was the consensus player of the year, I think, in 2017-18.
01:29And he's got a big chip on his shoulder.
01:30You know, he was drafted in the second round, and it wasn't until his fourth season that he became a
01:34starter.
01:35And when he did, I had the Mavericks that year at 25-1, and they made it to the Western
01:40Conference final.
01:41I think they made it to the championship that year.
01:42So, this guy's a winner, man.
01:44And like I said, he's got a massive chip on his shoulder.
01:47He's getting very little respect from the media.
01:49I mean, if you remember Stephen A. Smith, Nick Wright, they called the Jalen Brunson sweepstakes one of the worst
01:54ideas of manageable.
01:56And they said the Knicks were going to make a big mistake, and he wasn't even a top-ten guard.
02:01And now he's led this team, you know, to the finals.
02:04He's averaging 26 points per game.
02:07This kid's a winner, man.
02:08He came from Jalen Wright.
02:09I remember Michael Welbon said he's not a true point guard and wasn't even sure if he was a true
02:14shooting guard.
02:15And he should be on the bench.
02:17I mean, this kid's got a lot of animosity.
02:20He wants to prove to everyone that he's a winner, and the Knicks might get it done a couple weeks
02:24ago.
02:25I told you they might win it all at 6-1.
02:27Now they're down to 2-1.
02:28So, this kid came from J. Wright.
02:30And this kid's a winner, a hard worker.
02:32And it's a real possibility.
02:34The Knicks shocked the world this year.
02:36Godfather, do you think the Thunder or the Spurs, which one of those two teams do you think are a
02:42better matchup for the Knicks in this one?
02:45I mean, Wemby creates all kinds of issues, but the depth of OKC could probably create some problems for the
02:52Knicks bench as well.
02:54I mean, which team would you think would be a better matchup for New York?
02:59On paper, it would be the Spurs, but I'm not sure, man.
03:05Wemby just changed – you know, you can't get those points in the paint, and that's what the Knicks have
03:11thrived.
03:12They've been outscoring opponents in the paint, and that's not going to happen against the Spurs.
03:16But like you said, OKC's so deep.
03:19I mean, it's pretty close.
03:21I think both teams are going to be real difficult, but I think the Knicks can beat both teams, to
03:25tell you the truth, man.
03:25I think if they can steal one game, you go up there to Madison Square Garden, it's tough to win
03:30up there.
03:31And it's tough to repeat as champions.
03:32OKC won it last year, and even though they're battle-tested, that hasn't happened in, what, eight, nine years?
03:36I forget the last time the NBA team went back-to-back.
03:40So it's going to be fun watching, though.
03:42See what happens.
