00:00Here's what we need to talk about. Bryson is he has a new set of irons in the bag this week.
00:06He's moved from the the Avota irons that were the original roll bulge made their debut with great fanfare at the Masters two years ago.
00:15Now his partner, L.A. Golf, has built him a set of roll bulge irons and they have a different type of weight that is further out on the toe to kind of take away that dramatic right to left miss that he has.
00:27He noted at the PGA that he was working on something.
00:31He had something that was that he was and a lot of people speculated that maybe it was the golf ball.
00:35But it looks like maybe these irons are the thing that he was alluding to that he was going to have in play at the U.S. Open.
00:41And they're in the bag this week and it looks good.
00:43If Bryson figures out iron his distance control, the dispersion on those feels like he's another great shout to when U.S. opens for back to back years.
00:53He's going to he's going to be in the thick of the things with this tournament.
00:58Just be shocking if he didn't.
01:00You know, he's he just drives it too straight with that crank driver.
01:05But by the way, no, he's out of the crank now.
01:08He's out of the crank.
01:09That's what he's because he's like all in on.
01:11He's all in on L.A. golf now.
01:13Oh, I thought you were just talking about his irons.
01:15Did you say he switched into a driver to they built a new the new driver for him?
01:19They have they have the full I think he's going fully in that direction.
01:23Yeah.
01:24Is that a good thing?
01:25Because he's in that he was in that other driver.
01:27So good.
01:28Right.
01:28I think my guess is that and again, this is just this is not sourced from anyone, but it's just effectively that L.A. golf is his partner on equipment and stuff is just taking all of his best performing equipment and either made replicas of that or try to make a better version of it.
01:44And that's why I'm curious to see on these irons.
01:46I know he was he liked the tech behind the Avota roll bulge deals.
01:50But if L.A. golf can build something that achieves that and take away the severity of his most common miss, I mean, that that's a good equipment formula to me, it seems.
02:01Yeah, definitely.
02:02So I'm just sitting here kind of looking at past U.S.
02:07Open winners at Oakmont and just some basic statistics that can maybe answer the question a little bit here with Bryson DeChambeau, which is what are the most important things to win at this golf tournament?
02:18And we can look back at Angel Cabrera in 2007 and Dustin Johnson in 16.
02:23Angel Cabrera was was second in driving distance at three hundred ten in 2007 and Dustin Johnson was first in driving distance and for three hundred seventeen yards.
02:36Dustin Johnson was first in greens and regulation, 76 percent, 49th and putting.
02:41And then also, let's see, a sixty five percent third in green regulation for Angel Cabrera and 28th and putting.
02:50So the formula to me with those two guys, which is hit it really long off the tee, find a way to putt for birdie and just to putt and then take your birdies when you can get them.
03:02And if we think about, oh, let's see what player kind of fits that category right now.
03:07Yeah, Bryson.
