00:03:13Last week, Michael Bolton's canine-inspired jive
00:03:18to Elvis Presley's hound dog had him crooning
00:03:20don't be cruel to the judges.
00:03:23It did not help, and neither did the lack of your votes.
00:03:26Tonight, we raise the stakes
00:03:27as our stars take on a new judges challenge.
00:03:31Each couple has been asked to tell a story through their dance,
00:03:33and this time, the use of props is encouraged.
00:03:36So whether it's a foxtrot, waltz, or samba,
00:03:39the judges want to see a story,
00:03:40and that means that the routines
00:03:42will probably be more elaborate and expressive
00:03:44than ever before.
00:03:46That's a safe bet.
00:03:46Here's a glimpse of some of the stories they dreamed up.
00:03:50So this week, story week,
00:03:52I'm gonna be a homeless person on the street,
00:03:54and you're walking by, I'm trying to get your attention,
00:03:56you're not interested.
00:03:57At the beginning of our dance,
00:03:58when Mark's trying to get my attention,
00:03:59it scares me to death to be standing there by myself.
00:04:01I see us in the hills
00:04:03doing this beautiful, red, flowing dress.
00:04:08Boom.
00:04:09This is our time machine.
00:04:10There's gonna be a spaceship time machine on stage,
00:04:13and all types of crazy stuff.
00:04:15I don't even know you can't do this.
00:04:16The story is that you just cost your teammates
00:04:19the whole game.
00:04:21I can relate to all of that.
00:04:23I'm so used to being a student with Derek.
00:04:25It'll be fun to at least pretend that I'm the teacher.
00:04:27Do you want me to put my glasses on?
00:04:29Huh? Yeah.
00:04:30School is in session.
00:04:36All righty.
00:04:37Now to show you what the judges are looking for,
00:04:40the pros have created a dance
00:04:41to pick a romance between three poor men,
00:04:44three rich women,
00:04:45from the moment they meet
00:04:46to the day they marry
00:04:47and begin their new life together.
00:04:50Please welcome the pros.
00:04:51You're just too good to be true.
00:05:05Can't take my eyes off of you.
00:05:09You'd be like heaven to touch.
00:05:13I want to hold you so much.
00:05:17But if you feel like I feel
00:05:20Please let me know that it's real
00:05:24You're just too good to be true
00:05:28Can't take my eyes off of you
00:05:32Oh, pretty baby
00:05:35Don't bring me down, I'm free
00:05:38Oh, pretty baby
00:05:39Now that I've found you
00:05:41Say, let me love you, baby
00:05:45Let me love you
00:05:49You're once, twice, three times a lady
00:06:01And I love you
00:06:07Yes, you're once, twice, three times a lady
00:06:18And I love you
00:06:24And the bass keeps running, running
00:06:51And runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', run
00:07:21We call food, uh-huh.
00:07:24We call food, uh-huh.
00:07:29We call food in here.
00:07:45There are the pros.
00:07:47Jonathan Roberts and Kim Johnson, Dmitry Chaplin and Sneijana Petrova,
00:07:53and Nikolai Pilevichuk and Natalia Skorikova,
00:07:56and I'm so glad I get paid per syllable.
00:07:58Well done, Tom.
00:08:00Now to our first sum of the night with the actress
00:08:02who has established herself as the early frontrunner
00:08:05with back-to-back trips to the top of the leaderboard.
00:08:08Movie star Jennifer Grey and her partner Derek Hough.
00:08:11Last week in the jive, Jennifer left it all on the floor, literally.
00:08:19Let's see what the judges have to say.
00:08:22Your energy never let up,
00:08:23and now you have deserved the right to lay down on that floor.
00:08:27And captured the top spot for the second week in a row.
00:08:31All right, baby, you survived again.
00:08:33Live to live, another day of dance.
00:08:36So this week, story week,
00:08:39and we're dancing samba,
00:08:40which is going to be interesting.
00:08:42Because it's a love song.
00:08:43Maybe I was your teacher that you had a crush on,
00:08:46and you were in school.
00:08:48Just so happy that that actually has happened before.
00:08:51It was a third grade.
00:08:52Her name is Mrs. Fox.
00:08:54Mrs. Foxy?
00:08:55She was pretty foxy.
00:08:56Should I be on my desk?
00:08:57Can I have my ruler?
00:09:00Yeah, yeah.
00:09:01Oh, I like that.
00:09:02I'm so used to being the student with Derek.
00:09:03It'll be fun to at least pretend that I'm the teacher.
00:09:06You want me to put my glasses on?
00:09:08Yeah.
00:09:10That might help me.
00:09:14It's kind of hot.
00:09:15This week, I'm pushing Jennifer with the choreography once again,
00:09:18and I'm also putting one of the most difficult steps in ballroom dancing,
00:09:20which is the samba roll.
00:09:22Wow.
00:09:22Boom.
00:09:23Never mind.
00:09:24It's fine.
00:09:24We don't need it.
00:09:25Oh, you know what?
00:09:26It's not worth it.
00:09:26It's not worth it.
00:09:27It's not worth it.
00:09:28I don't want to spend time on this.
00:09:29Nicole could have gotten it like that.
00:09:31Cross.
00:09:32Stack.
00:09:33Okay, you're getting frustrated with me,
00:09:35and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
00:09:36I want to keep pushing her,
00:09:38because we want to stay on top.
00:09:39We don't want to fall back.
00:09:41Left foot.
00:09:43The baby, you know where you are?
00:09:44No.
00:09:45This samba could be great,
00:09:47but I feel like I'm never going to learn it,
00:09:49and then I'm never going to make it good enough.
00:09:51You're still panicking on two steps.
00:09:53Honey?
00:09:53I might be fried.
00:09:56Okay.
00:09:57But you can do this.
00:09:58Close your foot.
00:09:59Close your foot.
00:10:03Good girl.
00:10:04Yes.
00:10:05Boom.
00:10:05Amazing.
00:10:06Amazing.
00:10:07The higher the score,
00:10:08the higher the pressure,
00:10:10the farther you have to fall.
00:10:12In order to stay on top of the leaderboard,
00:10:13we have to kick this samba in its ass.
00:10:17Dancing the samba,
00:10:22Jennifer Grey and her partner,
00:10:24Derek Hough.
00:10:30Five.
00:10:31I'm trying to discover
00:10:33A little something to make me sweeter
00:10:39Oh, baby,
00:10:42refrain
00:10:42From breaking my heart
00:10:48I'm so in love with you
00:10:53I'll be forever blue
00:10:57That you gave me no reason
00:11:01Why you're making me work so hard
00:11:04That you gave me no
00:11:06That you gave me no
00:11:07That you gave me no
00:11:09That you gave me no
00:11:10Oh, I hear you calling
00:11:15Oh, baby
00:11:18Oh, baby
00:11:22Oh, baby
00:11:23Oh, baby
00:11:24Oh, baby
00:11:26Oh, baby

00:11:47Oh, baby
00:11:49Oh, baby
00:11:51Oh, baby

00:11:58true
00:11:59Jennifer and Derek
00:12:12come on over guys
00:12:17don't bring the ruler
00:12:19having none flashbacks
00:12:25come over here
00:12:26alright let's see what our judges have to say
00:12:29we start with our head judge of course
00:12:30I really enjoy story night
00:12:33because you know you get a little bit
00:12:35of a story at the top of the dance
00:12:37but what I love is when you can
00:12:39continue it through the dance
00:12:41which is not an easy thing to do
00:12:43I thought you did that tonight
00:12:45it was very very clever
00:12:47the choreography
00:12:48I'm so used to seeing everything you do
00:12:51so clean and crisp
00:12:52and there was just a little
00:12:54twiddly bit
00:12:55and I'm
00:12:56right in front of us as well
00:12:58how sad
00:12:59but as always
00:13:00you're becoming an irresistible force on this show
00:13:03alright
00:13:03very good
00:13:04very serious
00:13:05do you know
00:13:05Jennifer
00:13:07you are the sexy mistress of Cougar Town's Academy of Samba
00:13:14you got that
00:13:16I tell you there is a line of students
00:13:18forming around the block as we speak
00:13:20you should be using recruitment
00:13:21I'm telling you
00:13:22but Lenny's right
00:13:24the thing is you know
00:13:24again that was very very difficult
00:13:26as choreography
00:13:28you got tangled here
00:13:29and then you came out of a role
00:13:32and you went
00:13:32as clean as you usually could be
00:13:34into the pivot
00:13:35but as he said
00:13:36you know you're great
00:13:37alright
00:13:38Carrie Ann
00:13:38I think
00:13:39you've been the leader
00:13:42for the first two weeks
00:13:43but tonight
00:13:44you guys were just slightly out of sync
00:13:46I think that the beginning
00:13:47threw you off a little bit
00:13:48I mean
00:13:48what you did so great though
00:13:49tonight
00:13:50since it is story night
00:13:51you did take the story from start
00:13:52there was a middle
00:13:53you reminded us of the characters
00:13:54you played it
00:13:55you stayed in character
00:13:55and you ended with the character
00:13:56so even though you had
00:13:57a big mess up in the middle
00:13:58oh a couple of others
00:13:59thunder actors what
00:14:00prove it

00:14:38because you did
00:14:39somber rolls
00:14:39and I remember
00:14:40how difficult those are
00:14:41in fact we had the same
00:14:42conversation in rehearsals
00:14:43so how challenging was that
00:14:45um
00:14:45I think everything
00:14:46was challenging this week

00:16:51well you know
00:16:52I got my start
00:16:53on Broadway
00:16:53one of my favorites
00:16:54was The Sound of Music
00:16:55playing Maria
00:16:56I did it for 15 months
00:16:57all over the United States
00:16:59and Canada
00:17:00and when we were in Chicago
00:17:01the real Maria Von Trapp
00:17:03came to our performance
00:17:05she was sitting
00:17:05in the audience
00:17:06right in front of me

00:17:24I love the story
00:17:26that we're telling

00:17:29just finding out
00:17:30they have this great attraction
00:17:31but she's frightened
00:17:33and resists him
00:17:34and then she gives in
00:17:36I think if that's the first time
00:17:38I've had the courage
00:17:39to look at me
00:17:39to look in your eyes
00:17:40and so
00:17:41and I kind of want to hold you

00:18:12dancing the waltz
00:18:19Florence Henderson

00:20:06Energy
00:20:10Thank you
00:20:11Thank you
00:20:12Ah, not good. Standing up. Great job. Great job. Very sweet.
00:20:21All right, we're going to start with Bruno this time.
00:20:23Florence, simple, effective, very, very, very sweet.
00:20:27I could really feel the emotional connection you had with the role.
00:20:31A tiny little thing, you know, when you do a waltz, you should have continuous movement.
00:20:35At times it felt like you were stopping to get into a figure and then starting again.
00:20:40It has to move all the time. Continuous progression, darling.
00:20:44I love when you do that.
00:20:46But well done.
00:20:47All right, Carrie-Anne.
00:20:49You better watch that. He's so dangerous.
00:20:52I definitely think John is smiling down on you.
00:20:55That was just so...
00:20:58You know, when people dance from their heart, it's like I know it's story week,
00:21:03but you actually had a real story, and that's what pushed that performance through to another level.
00:21:08It was just really touching.
00:21:10But yes, it was a little on the simple side.
00:21:13I'm worried about you because I have a feeling you might make it through next week,
00:21:15but we'll have to see.
00:21:16But if you do, I want to see you push your boundaries just a little more.
00:21:20Okay?
00:21:21Come on, bring it, Florence.
00:21:22Not right now.
00:21:22Not next week.
00:21:24Right now, let's do it.
00:21:25Leon, it was poignant, it was emotional, it was sweet.
00:21:30And I thought the story that you told was beautiful.
00:21:34The technique in your feet is non-existent, unfortunately, and I have to look...
00:21:41It's okay.
00:21:43Florence, would I lie to you?
00:21:45Well...
00:21:46I'm going to try and just get your technique on your footwork a little...
00:21:51I'm sure Corky talked about it, but it didn't happen.
00:21:55But well done.
00:21:56The story with you.
00:21:57There you go.
00:21:58Hang on over there for your scores.
00:21:59Nice job.
00:22:01On tomorrow night's results show, we've got Grammy winner Neo with an exclusive never-before-seen performance.
00:22:07International sensation Susan Boyle was supposed to be with us.
00:22:10However, she has a severe throat infection.
00:22:12Her doctor has advised her not to perform.
00:22:15So instead, we're actually working being at the live show on a last-minute surprise guest.
00:22:20And hopefully by the end of this one, we'll tell you who that is.
00:22:23Plus, another star will be eliminated at 9, 8 central.
00:22:27Brooke?
00:22:28Hey, Tom.
00:22:29Florence, I know this was quite an emotional week for you.
00:22:31How did you feel dancing the waltz tonight?
00:22:33I felt wonderful.
00:22:36And I felt fulfilled.
00:22:37And I wish Len had liked my footwork a little better.
00:22:41But I'll get to him.
00:22:43You also performed in the stage performance of The Sound of Music.
00:22:45So did that help you connect with Story Week?
00:22:48Oh, very much so.
00:22:49I was thrilled that we got Edelweiss.
00:22:51You know, it's a beautiful song and it tells a beautiful story.
00:22:54Beautiful job.
00:22:55Let's get your scores right now.
00:22:58Will the judges please reveal their scores?
00:23:01Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:23:03Seven.
00:23:04Len Goodman.
00:23:06Six.
00:23:06Bruno Tomioli.
00:23:08Seven.
00:23:10All right, that's 20 out of 30.
00:23:11Now, if you were as moved as we were watching their waltz
00:23:14and you want to see more of Florence and Corky,
00:23:16then you know what to do.
00:23:17They need your support right now.
00:23:18You can call, text, and log on to abc.com.
00:23:21They need your support.
00:23:22If you want to see them, come back next week.
00:23:24Tom?
00:23:25All right, Brooke, thank you.
00:23:26Some of the stars who made the biggest headlines last week
00:23:29are getting ready to take the four for their story dances.
00:23:31He's next, the NFL hero who Bruno says has hands the size of frying pan.
00:23:38We'll see if Kirk can cook up a tasty foxtrot.
00:23:41All that plus this.
00:23:43It's almost like you're holding a fine bone china.
00:23:47Pinky up.
00:23:48Here.
00:23:49Tap, tap, tap.
00:23:50Three times.
00:23:51I think I feel a little bit more delicate now.
00:23:54After what happened last week, I decided to give him a gift of silence.
00:23:59You won't last an hour with this.
00:24:01I want to show everyone that I can be romantic.
00:24:04That's so disgusting.
00:24:06Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:24:22According to Len, last week our next star went from the outhouse to the penthouse.
00:24:27Let's see if he can bring down the house tonight.
00:24:29It is Super Bowl MVP, Kurt Warner, and his partner, Anna Krabinskaya.
00:24:36Last week, Carrie Ann got a kick out of Kurt's jive.
00:24:42You kind of remind me of like everybody's favorite uncle who has a little too much to
00:24:46drink.
00:24:46It gets like all crazy and like this inner dancer comes out.
00:24:49So, this week's dance, we have...
00:24:52Boxtrot.
00:24:53Bad day.
00:24:54Daniel Potter.
00:24:55We don't want to act out just a bad day.
00:24:56Yeah.
00:24:57Yeah, we got to put a good spin on it.
00:24:58Our story idea is to start with someone having a bad day and then using the dance to kind
00:25:03of finish off on a honey.
00:25:04You should be the one who's encouraging because that's how you are.
00:25:08Okay.
00:25:08And I'm a depressive, negative Russian and I'm having a bad day.
00:25:14This fit our characters.
00:25:15This ought to be easy.
00:25:16That is.
00:25:18Yeah.
00:25:19High five.
00:25:20Okay.
00:25:21Very good.
00:25:23Five, six.
00:25:25Started well.
00:25:26I'm definitely nervous going back into the ballroom.
00:25:28I think being 6'2", 200 and whatever pounds, it almost feels like because you're so big,
00:25:34you can't be graceful and elegant.
00:25:36That you just look like a big tree running around on the dance floor.
00:25:39And not so rough.
00:25:40A little bit more delicate with the arms.
00:25:42Imagine like when you're dancing fox shirt.
00:25:45It's almost like you're holding a fine bone china at the tea party.
00:25:50Oh, yeah.
00:25:52One of the challenges that Kurt has is that he's not used to small and delicate movements.
00:25:57So I thought it was a good idea for Kurt to have an afternoon tea party with his two little
00:26:02girls.
00:26:02Whoa, daddy.
00:26:05Can I drink my tea now?
00:26:07Yeah?
00:26:08Okay.
00:26:09No, daddy, do it softer.
00:26:11Do it softer?
00:26:12How do I do it softer?
00:26:13Like this.
00:26:15Pinky up.
00:26:16Here.
00:26:17Tap, tap, tap.
00:26:18Three times.
00:26:20I'm not sure this got me in touch with my delicate side.
00:26:23But now I understand what Anna's saying, so hopefully it will come through in my Foxtrot.
00:26:27Next time wear a princess dress, I think the Fiera was good enough, don't you?
00:26:32Dancing the Foxtrot, Kurt Warner and his partner Anna Trebunskaya.
00:26:49Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down, you sing a sad song just to turn it around.
00:26:56You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie, you won't get a smile and you go forward.
00:27:02You might not make it back and you know that you can be well or that's wrong.
00:27:29And I'm not around, yeah.
00:27:38So there is a passion when you need it the most.
00:27:41You had a bad day, you're taking one down, you sing a sad song just to turn it around.
00:27:56You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie, you won't get a smile and you go forward.
00:28:02You had a bad day, you've seen what you like, and how does it feel for one more time.
00:28:10You had a bad day.
00:28:11You had a bad day, you've seen what you like, and how does it feel for one more time.
00:28:18You had a bad day, you've seen what you like, and how does it feel for one more time.
00:28:25Come on down here, Anna.
00:28:32That's sweet, though.
00:28:35You never know in here.
00:28:37Let's see what the judges have to say.
00:28:38Carrie Ann, you start.
00:28:40Well, it was raining L.A. today.
00:28:42Where were you for me?
00:28:43I was waiting for the man with the umbrella.
00:28:44It was so charming, Kirk.
00:28:46You have this incredible charm that works wonders in a storyline like this and in the Foxtrot.
00:28:53I thought your holds was beautiful.
00:28:54You guys were connected.
00:28:55You were totally in sync.
00:28:56Your chemistry is fantastic.
00:28:57I loved it.
00:28:59Oh, I loved it.
00:29:02Well, Kurt, I don't know how we're supposed to judge in this weather, but I'll carry on.
00:29:07Kurt, I'll tell you.
00:29:08I know your arms.
00:29:09This is a lyrical dance, and you're supposed to have musicality through your arms.
00:29:13That is lacking.
00:29:14But everything else was penthouse.
00:29:17Well done.
00:29:18Bruno.
00:29:20Kurt, the brief encounter in London town worked.
00:29:25Your personality is great.
00:29:27Your grin is pure Gene Kelly.
00:29:29Your frying pans.
00:29:31Last week, you got it sorted out.
00:29:33You're coming back again.
00:29:34It was like, oh, here we go again.
00:29:36Here we go again.
00:29:37And then you nearly dropped her.
00:29:39You nearly dropped it on the...
00:29:40I'm sorry.
00:29:42I'm having a good you because I know you can't.
00:29:44It can be good.
00:29:45You have to be cleaner.
00:29:46You have to be cleaner.
00:29:48Gene Kelly.
00:29:49Watch a lot of Gene Kelly.
00:29:50Head on over there for your scores, if you would.
00:29:54We have launched an exciting new feature at ABC.com called Live Chat, which allows you to chat
00:30:00live with other viewers during our Monday night shows and vote for your favorites while you
00:30:07are there.
00:30:07Brooke.
00:30:08Thanks, Tom.
00:30:09Come on over here.
00:30:11Kurt, you're so charming on the dance floor.
00:30:13And I know that working with your kids helped you this week.
00:30:15What are they going to say to Daddy after that performance?
00:30:18They're going to want to have more tea parties, unfortunately.
00:30:20But if that's what it takes, that's what I'll do.
00:30:23I have a feeling you're going to be reenacting that dance a lot at home.
00:30:26Let's get your scores.
00:30:28Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores.
00:30:31Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:30:33Eight.
00:30:34Len Goodman.
00:30:36Eight.
00:30:37Bruno Tomioli.
00:30:39Seven.
00:30:40All right.
00:30:45That's a 23 out of 30, which is the highest score yet.
00:30:48So if you want to see more of Kurt Warner and what he can do in the ballroom, then you
00:30:52need to give them your support tonight.
00:30:54You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:30:57Give them your support.
00:30:58Tom.
00:30:59Well, no question.
00:31:00This week who was getting booed?
00:31:01Okay.
00:31:02Still to show off their story routines are the high-scoring girl from the hills, the low-scoring
00:31:08guy from the shore, and the stars who hit peaks and valleys in between.
00:31:14And next, Margaret and Louie Samba live.
00:31:17Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:31:32Last week, this funny lady earned praise from the judges for a noticeable improvement over
00:31:37week one.
00:31:38Can she samba to further success tonight?
00:31:41Comedian Margaret Cho and her partner, shake it, you guys, Louie Van Amstel.
00:31:46Last week, Margaret put her heart and soul in the jive, but at times looked too intense.
00:31:59Sometimes your facial expressions are over the top, so just be careful a little bit with
00:32:03that.
00:32:03That's just what my face is like.
00:32:05I can't help it.
00:32:06I really don't understand how to control this is all magic.
00:32:11And how do you make something happen?
00:32:14I have no idea.
00:32:15This week, we have samba, the party dance.
00:32:18I love it.
00:32:19There's your Copacabana.
00:32:20There is the party.
00:32:22Our song this week is Copacabana, and our story is all about expressing pride and happiness
00:32:28and joy.
00:32:30It's about coming out as beautiful, coming out as me.
00:32:33And on top of that, I'm on tour this week, so I have even less time to practice.
00:32:37Being on, like, a competition show, it is the worst thing for my parents.
00:32:41It's like the hardest thing.
00:32:42This is the most difficult thing we've ever been through.
00:32:47This is very hard.
00:32:50We, we live through war.
00:32:56Push.
00:32:57My schedule is really hectic.
00:32:59I really need more rehearsal, and I need to focus.
00:33:01I somehow feel you checked out.
00:33:03Huh?
00:33:04Can you check back in?
00:33:05I know.
00:33:05I'm sorry.
00:33:05I'm so, I'm really confused.
00:33:08The samba's supposed to be a celebration, but right now, it's pure frustration.
00:33:12Four, five, cross the front.
00:33:14Your brain is actually overloaded.
00:33:16Your body is not doing enough.
00:33:18It's been a really difficult week, but I just hope I can pull it all together tonight and have
00:33:22a sizzling samba.
00:33:24Dancing the samba, Margaret Cho and her partner, Louis Van Amstel.
00:33:46Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl, with yellow feathers in her hair,
00:33:53and the dress cut down to there.
00:33:55She would merengue and do the cha-cha.
00:33:59And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended far across the crowded floor.
00:34:06They were from eight till four.
00:34:08They were young and they had each other.
00:34:11Who could ask for more?
00:34:13I've been Copa, Copa Cabana, the hottest spot north of Havana.
00:34:20Here, I've been Copa, Copa Cabana.
00:34:26Music and passion were always the fashion at the Copa.
00:34:34They fell in love.
00:34:36We're at the Copa, Copa Cabana, the hottest spot north of Havana.
00:34:45Here, I've been Copa, Copa Cabana.
00:34:49Music and passion were always the fashion at the Copa.
00:34:56They fell in love.
00:35:01Copa, Copa, Copa.
00:35:05Watford and Laurie.
00:35:19Come on.
00:35:23Show yourself a nice day.
00:35:24Come over here.
00:35:26All right, start with a very exciting finish, Len.
00:35:31Well, I was encouraged at the start.
00:35:34I thought it started off with good rhythm.
00:35:36You had good hip action.
00:35:38But as the dance progressed, you lost your timing,
00:35:42and it got a little bit heavy in the legs.
00:35:45And to be honest, Margaret, I couldn't quite get the story of it.
00:35:49Well, the story is about having pride while people are criticizing you.
00:35:53Oh, well, I only criticized the new.
00:35:58That's right. Bruno?
00:35:59My darling, I praise you for waving the rainbow flag.
00:36:03Keep waving it, girl.
00:36:05Good for you.
00:36:06But I think you lost your way out of the Copa.
00:36:10You had too many drinks, my darling.
00:36:11Because you, the footwork, I mean, you know, we can't overlook that.
00:36:15You went wrong so many times, and then you lost your timing.
00:36:19And, you know, it is a dance competition.
00:36:21We have to point that out.
00:36:22Okay.
00:36:22I'm sorry.
00:36:23And Carrie Ann.
00:36:24Well, I love the story.
00:36:26I love that you came out in rainbow.
00:36:27I love that you came out in full force.
00:36:31But the truth is, yes, it was so full out that you sort of lost control.
00:36:35It was like, unleash the beast, and you went kind of crazy.
00:36:38It was so exciting, because it was just, this is the gayest thing I think that has ever happened.
00:36:41I love it.
00:36:42It is so exciting.
00:36:45Dancing with the Stars.
00:36:45I cannot contain myself.
00:36:48Dancing with the Stars says, gone gay.
00:36:49It's fabulous.
00:36:50Good job.
00:36:51Really?
00:36:52But, wait, hold on.
00:36:54But, you do have to work on your arms, because if you come back next week, just watch your lines a little bit.
00:36:58Just a little more grace in the upper carriage.
00:37:00And, by the way, Louie, it's always great to see Jack LaLanne's outfit come back.
00:37:03That's great.
00:37:04That's great.
00:37:05Head on over for your scores, if you would.
00:37:10Last Tuesday, we announced that you chose the Cha-Cha for this season's Mason's Design
00:37:15and Dance performance.
00:37:16Still time for you to vote for the song.
00:37:18We will reveal your choice tomorrow night on our result show.
00:37:21Log on to ABC.com.
00:37:22Don't forget to vote on your favorite dancers of all time and tonight's dances while you're
00:37:27there.
00:37:28Brooke?
00:37:29Thanks, Tom.
00:37:30So, you've taken a more serious approach in the last few weeks.
00:37:32Is the funny girl coming back?
00:37:33I hope so.
00:37:34I mean, I want to be funny.
00:37:35I want to be serious because we wanted to celebrate pride.
00:37:37We wanted to show ourselves off.
00:37:39It's a tough time for the gay community.
00:37:40A lot of gay teenagers have committed suicide.
00:37:42So we want this to end now.
00:37:44Let's get your scores right now.
00:37:48Ladies and gentlemen, the judges' scores.
00:37:52Carrie-Ann Inabe.
00:37:53Six.
00:37:54Len Goodman.
00:37:55Six.
00:37:56Bruno Tognoli.
00:37:57Six.
00:37:58That's 18 out of 30.
00:38:02They need your support tonight.
00:38:03You know what to do.
00:38:04Call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:38:07If you want to see more of them next week, you have the power to keep your favorites in
00:38:10the competition.
00:38:11But you need to vote.
00:38:13Tom?
00:38:14All right, Brooke.
00:38:16If you thought Michael Bolton's doghouse was daring last week, just wait.
00:38:20We've got more story routines on the way, including Love in a Coffee Shop, Time Travel, and
00:38:26A Ghost.
00:38:27And up next, Audrina Waltzes with Tony, live.
00:38:34Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:38:45It's story week.
00:38:46Last season, this was the night of competition that brought us Pamela Anderson's anti-bullfighting
00:38:52Paso Doble, Aaron Andrews with a blindfolded waltz.
00:38:55And of course, not to bury the lead, Kate Gosselin's dance to paparazzi.
00:39:00Let's see if tonight's routines are as memorable.
00:39:03Bruno said our next star went from a show pony to secretariat.
00:39:08It's the Hills star, Audrina Patridge and her partner, Tony D'Avillani.
00:39:16Last week, Audrina stepped up her game and had the best quick step of the night.
00:39:21You know what?
00:39:24I thought it was a fantastic performance.
00:39:26Huge improvement from last week.
00:39:28Your form, your stature, great.
00:39:30They realized and noticed that we took all their advice and used it this week.
00:39:35And that's what we're going to do for next week, too.
00:39:38Our story is perfect for the waltz because it's a very dramatic dance.
00:39:42The storyline that we've been talking about, like, you know, you dressed as a marine and
00:39:46coming back and like, it's almost like a dream.
00:39:49Now it's a matter of you bringing it to life and really reacting.
00:39:55I'm not used to getting my emotions out and showing people.
00:39:58It's a little scary.
00:39:59This is the man that's coming back from bed to dance with you for the last time.
00:40:03Are you laughing?
00:40:05No, I just got to get with it.
00:40:07Like, clear my head.
00:40:09Okay.
00:40:10Forward.
00:40:11It is very important for Audrina to display her emotions throughout the dance because if she
00:40:17doesn't, then the audience can't connect.
00:40:19So you're thinking it, but you're showing it.
00:40:21That's the important thing.
00:40:22Start out.
00:40:23Okay.
00:40:24Let's dance for the last row in the bleachers.
00:40:26Okay.
00:40:27The waltz scares me because I have to dig really deep.
00:40:31I mean really deep.
00:40:32That's it.
00:40:33And look at your hands.
00:40:35That's it.
00:40:36And then push.
00:40:37I want America to get the chills when they watch us.
00:40:40And I'm really going to try my best to make it believable.
00:40:43Ooh, that was awesome.
00:40:46Dancing the waltz, Audrina Patridge and her partner Tony DiVolani.
00:40:53There comes a time.
00:40:54A time.
00:40:55A time.
00:40:56A time.
00:40:58in everyone's life.
00:40:59A time.
00:41:00A time.
00:41:03There comes a time
00:41:18A time in everyone's life
00:41:28When nothing seems to go your way
00:41:33When nothing seems to turn out right
00:41:41Let it be me
00:41:48Let it be me
00:41:56If it's a prayer
00:42:02You need
00:42:05Let it be me
00:42:09Let it be me
00:42:13If it's a prayer
00:42:17You need
00:42:20Let it be me
00:42:24Let it be me
00:42:29Very nice, Audrina
00:42:43Tony and the smoke monster from Lost
00:42:47Nice job, Audrina
00:42:50All right, Bruno
00:42:53We will start with you
00:42:55Compelling and touching storytelling
00:42:58Every move was connected to an emotional journey
00:43:01I could read the story through you
00:43:04Beautifully danced and beautifully played
00:43:06A hit
00:43:07All right
00:43:08Here he is
00:43:09It was beautifully acted
00:43:11It was beautifully danced
00:43:13We do have to point your toes a hair more
00:43:15But I think the competition just got very interesting
00:43:18Uh-huh
00:43:19And Len
00:43:20Well, it reminded me of something
00:43:22That an old dance teacher said before you were born
00:43:26He said you walk with your feet
00:43:28And you dance with your heart
00:43:30And that was the most touching dance of the night
00:43:34Congratulations, guys
00:43:35Three to three
00:43:36Head on over there for your scores
00:43:38Now, while we're handing out applause
00:43:40How about continuing that for our band and our singers
00:43:43And the man who keeps them in line
00:43:45Our musical director, Harold Wheeler
00:43:48Brooke, over to you
00:43:49Thanks, Tom
00:43:50Thanks, Tom
00:43:53Adrena, we're just three weeks into the competition
00:43:55Did you ever think that you would become a dancer so quickly?
00:43:58No, Tony has taught me well
00:44:00But we do
00:44:01We wanted to dedicate this song
00:44:03Or this dance and this song and everything
00:44:05To all the armed troops that have been lost in war
00:44:08And to their families
00:44:09So, let's get your scores right now
00:44:14The judges have their scores
00:44:16Carrie-Anne Inabe
00:44:18Eight
00:44:19Len Goodman
00:44:20Nine
00:44:21Bruno Chan-Yong
00:44:23Nine
00:44:24All right, that's 26 out of 30
00:44:27Which is the first nine of the season
00:44:29It's also your highest score
00:44:31But last week you said that if you didn't get three eights last week
00:44:34That you were gonna wax your legs
00:44:36And of course, we were there
00:44:38So, take a look at this clip
00:44:40We got some...
00:44:42Oh, I feel it
00:44:44Bruno, you could've given me an eight, dude
00:44:47Wow
00:44:51That still hurts
00:44:52So, Tony, are you gonna be making any bribes moving forward?
00:44:55No
00:44:56No
00:44:57No
00:44:58No
00:44:59It wasn't quite as bad actually
00:45:00One thing for sure
00:45:01Now I know what my wife and many women out there go through
00:45:03So
00:45:05Good for you
00:45:06All right, everybody
00:45:07You know what to do right now
00:45:08They need your support
00:45:09You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com
00:45:11If you want to give them an opportunity to come back again next week
00:45:14Great job, you guys
00:45:15Tom?
00:45:16Thank you, Brooke
00:45:17This night of story dances continues as our stars attempt to express themselves through their routines
00:45:23Next, what's Bristol the pistol story? We'll find out and still to come, story night continues with these tales
00:45:31Look, Brandy's one of those people that needs somebody tough
00:45:34I needed that
00:45:35That's who made me who I am
00:45:37Whoa, come on
00:45:38Boom
00:45:39This is our time machine
00:45:40There's gonna be a spaceship time machine on stage and all types of crazy stuff
00:45:45I don't even know how you can speak
00:45:46I wanna show everyone that I can be romantic
00:45:50That's so disgusting
00:45:52Welcome back to dancing with the stars
00:46:06Last week, Len reminded our next star
00:46:08You gotta take chances if you're gonna win dances
00:46:11On this night of story routines
00:46:13Let's see what tale she dares to tell with her foxtrot
00:46:16Teen activist Bristol Palin and her partner, Mark Bellis
00:46:20Last Monday, Bristol's Quickstep impressed the judges, but they were left wanting more
00:46:29You have to become an actress, engage everybody into what you do, because you can do it
00:46:36Seven
00:46:37I feel great
00:46:39I'm so glad we got that dance over it
00:46:41This week we have Foxtrot, which is actually very similar to Quickstep
00:46:45Okay
00:46:46Our song is just the way you are
00:46:47It's really uplifting and I love it
00:46:49I'm gonna be a homeless person on the street
00:46:51Mm-hmm
00:46:52You're walking by, I'm trying to get your attention
00:46:53You're not interested
00:46:54You kind of have a change of thought
00:46:55So you turn around and I'm doing my thing
00:46:57What am I doing though?
00:46:58Do I start walking over there?
00:46:59Stop, look
00:47:01I'm kind of like, just be watching
00:47:04At the beginning of our dance, when Mark's trying to get my attention
00:47:06It scares me to death to be standing there by myself
00:47:08I know the judges all want to see that acting part, but that's what I'm most scared of
00:47:12You can't laugh when I'm all up in your face
00:47:14I don't
00:47:15See, you're doing it now, why are you doing that?
00:47:16Because it's just funny to me
00:47:17You think I'm ugly, don't you?
00:47:19I'm just kidding
00:47:21Down, down
00:47:24Whoa, what am I doing wrong?
00:47:25You just gotta pat it, you're trying to step onto it
00:47:27Okay, this is so confusing
00:47:29Learning a dance in four days is extremely difficult
00:47:32On top of being a single mom to a rowdy one-year-old
00:47:34Oh, he's adorable
00:47:35I'm giving speeches, which I'm so passionate about
00:47:38I just want girls to know that abstinence is a realistic choice
00:47:41Those who practice abstinence have no chance of becoming pregnant
00:47:46Through it all, I want to dance a great dance
00:47:48I got a lot of stuff going on and it's extremely stressful
00:47:51Quick, one, two
00:47:53The judges said they want to see Bristol get into character
00:47:55This song is perfect for that because it's very emotional and it's very deep
00:47:59What are you looking at?
00:48:00I'm looking at it
00:48:01I don't know what to do next, so I'm thinking about it
00:48:03You're supposed to look at me
00:48:05Okay
00:48:06All right, so hand up
00:48:07Boom
00:48:09I get one
00:48:10Okay
00:48:11I hope that I can put myself into character and be intense
00:48:14And not so giggly and nail this Foxtrot
00:48:20Dancing the Foxtrot, Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas
00:48:33Oh, her eyes, her eyes make stars look like they're not shining
00:48:39Her hair, her hair goes perfectly without her trying
00:48:43She's so beautiful and I tell her every day
00:48:49Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't daily me
00:48:55And it's so, it's so sad to think that I don't see what I see
00:48:59But every time she asks me, do I look okay?
00:49:03I say
00:49:05I say
00:49:06When I see your face
00:49:10There's not a thing that I would change
00:49:14Cause you're amazing
00:49:17Just the way you are
00:49:22And when you fall
00:49:27The whole world's dancing stares for a while
00:49:31Cause girl you're amazing
00:49:34Just the way you are
00:49:39The way you are
00:49:43Girl you're amazing
00:49:44Just the way you are
00:49:46Yeah
00:49:48Girl you're amazing
00:49:49Just the way you are
00:49:50Yeah
00:49:52Yeah
00:49:54Yeah
00:49:56Yeah
00:49:59Bristol and Mark
00:50:04Good job
00:50:05Come on over
00:50:08All right, let's turn to our judges, Carrie Ann.
00:50:20I thought that was a hard one because I feel that you are sort of the newbie as far as
00:50:26performance goes, and it really, I think, hurt you in this dance.
00:50:29Your movement quality is really beautiful.
00:50:32You extend, there's weight, there's all of this to your movement, which I love, but this
00:50:36wasn't happening.
00:50:37And since it's story week, it wasn't, like, what was that reach?
00:50:40Just curious.
00:50:41Like, what was the motivation?
00:50:42Well, it's like she's giving her hand to me, and it's like, you're going to help someone
00:50:45out.
00:50:46It's less fortunate.
00:50:47That's what the whole story is about, helping people.
00:50:48And it's kind of me accepting it and being grateful and thank you, and we're both looking
00:50:51at it.
00:50:52See, I love that story, but I didn't quite get it from the performance.
00:50:54That's all right.
00:50:55That's all right.
00:50:56All right, Len.
00:50:57Don't listen to me, Bristol.
00:50:58I told you last week to take a chance, and this week you did, and I didn't like it that
00:51:02much.
00:51:03It was all a bit too contemporary for my taste.
00:51:08Okay.
00:51:09You just never know with that.
00:51:11Bruno?
00:51:12Don't get mad when we don't listen to you.
00:51:13But it's no question, there are two things here that are very, very clear.
00:51:17Your execution of the dance, actually, is neat.
00:51:20It's clean.
00:51:21You do everything you have to do.
00:51:23But I told you before, you're not Meryl Streep yet, because you have to express.
00:51:27When you say, you're amazing, when you turn your head, you've got to feel it, and we have
00:51:35to see that you feel it.
00:51:37And it is very frustrating, because I know that there is something in there, but show it
00:51:43to me, baby.
00:51:44All right.
00:51:45Okay.
00:51:46All right.
00:51:47Head on over, guys.
00:51:48Wait for your scores.
00:51:49You just avoided injury there by a millimeter.
00:51:53Tomorrow night, another star will be eliminated on a night of great music featuring an exclusive
00:51:58debut performance from our special guest, Neo.
00:52:01We're just minutes away from being able to reveal the surprise guest.
00:52:04We'll be stepping in at the last minute for the ailing Susan Boyle.
00:52:08Plus, we've got a dramatic ballroom duel of music and dance featuring Mark Ballas and Val
00:52:14Schmerkovsky at 9, 8 Central.
00:52:16Brooke?
00:52:17Thanks, Tom.
00:52:18Bristow, I know you're still not completely comfortable out here in the ballroom, but yet
00:52:22you're a public speaker.
00:52:23So how does the pressure of that spotlight differ than this one?
00:52:26This public speaking is just my testimony.
00:52:29It's who I am and stuff.
00:52:30And this is so not who I am.
00:52:31And I'm trying my hardest to act, but hopefully it'll come together next week.
00:52:36All right.
00:52:37Let's get your scores.
00:52:38Will the judges please reveal their scores?
00:52:41Carianne Inarbe.
00:52:43Six.
00:52:44Len Goodman.
00:52:45Six.
00:52:46Bruno Tognoli.
00:52:48Seven.
00:52:49That's 19 out of 30.
00:52:51How does that feel?
00:52:52It sucks because we're not improving this week, but next week we'll come out stronger.
00:52:57All right.
00:52:58If you want to see Bristol and Mark come back again next week, then you have the power to
00:53:01do so.
00:53:02They want your votes tonight.
00:53:03You can call, text, and log onto abc.com.
00:53:06Help bring your favorites back to face next week's challenge.
00:53:09Tom?
00:53:10All right, Brooke.
00:53:11Thanks.
00:53:12Next up, the star who spent an intense week of training to prepare for tonight's romantic
00:53:15routine.
00:53:16R&B singer Brandy and her partner, Maxine Schmerkovsky.
00:53:23No.
00:53:24Nope.
00:53:25Last week, Max and Brandy's rehearsals were full of miscommunication.
00:53:28But it's your approach sometimes.
00:53:29My approach is very clear.
00:53:30Yes.
00:53:31It's very .
00:53:32Sometimes.
00:53:33The way the package was portrayed, it just seemed as though Max and I argue all the time,
00:53:39which is completely not true.
00:53:40And things didn't improve with her jive.
00:53:44I don't like that solo stuff that you got.
00:53:47It's his fault.
00:53:48Not mine.
00:53:49Joking around with the judges, it came off like I threw my partner under the bus.
00:53:55I really thought that I upset Max.
00:53:58After what happened last week, I decided to give him a gift of silence.
00:54:02I brought you a gift.
00:54:04For what?
00:54:05My commitment to listening and not talking.
00:54:10I am a little bit afraid and worried all the same time.
00:54:14Don't be afraid.
00:54:15It's taped.
00:54:16Oh.
00:54:18You don't have to.
00:54:20No.
00:54:21I got to do it.
00:54:22I ask a lot of questions during rehearsal.
00:54:24But this week, I really want to learn the way he wants me to learn.
00:54:29Because he's the pro.
00:54:30Movie.
00:54:31What's our favorite movie?
00:54:32Oh, The Bodyguard.
00:54:33The Bodyguard.
00:54:34I think that would be a cute story, no?
00:54:36I know it would be.
00:54:38In real life, she's a singer.
00:54:40And I'm like her bodyguard, you know, in this competition.
00:54:44So that's exactly how we're going to portray it in the samba.
00:54:46It's not about the arms.
00:54:48Think legs.
00:54:49Six.
00:54:50Seven.
00:54:51And one.
00:54:52Max is teaching style.
00:54:53It's my way or the highway.
00:54:55Listen, you.
00:54:56Stop theorizing about how it's going to work.
00:54:59I'm telling you what to do.
00:55:01There.
00:55:02Okay?
00:55:03Relax.
00:55:04Continue.
00:55:05Brandy's one of those people that needs somebody tough.
00:55:09Somebody who gets her to do things.
00:55:11Whoa, come on.
00:55:12You know, I needed that.
00:55:14That's who made me who I am.
00:55:16Again?
00:55:17What do you mean?
00:55:18Don't get discouraged.
00:55:19No, I'm not discouraged.
00:55:20Do it again.
00:55:21Can you just show me again?
00:55:22I can't anything.
00:55:23It's nothing to do with me.
00:55:24Turn around and get the damn step.
00:55:26Quick, quick, quick.
00:55:28Right there.
00:55:29Stay.
00:55:30My sensitive side feels that Max bullies me, but I know he's trying to make me better,
00:55:34and he really believes in his process.
00:55:36So, it's just about the strongest people getting through it.
00:55:40You crashing?
00:55:41Uh-uh.
00:55:42You sure?
00:55:43You sure?
00:55:44I'm sensitive, but I'm now weak, Max.
00:55:46Come on.
00:55:50That's what happens when you make great tanning with Stockholm Syndrome.
00:55:54Brandy and Max will dance when we come back live.
00:55:58Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:56:10Before the break, you saw what happened when Brandy and Max trained to tell a story with
00:56:15their dance, and here it is.
00:56:17Dancing the Samba.
00:56:19Brandy and her partner, Maxim Chmierkovski.
00:56:22Woo!
00:56:24Say you love me, say you love me, then put it in a love song.
00:56:29Say you need me, say you need me, then write it in a letter form.
00:56:34Oh, oh, oh.
00:56:35Say you want me, say you want me, then text me on the cell phone.
00:56:39Say you love me, say you love me, then put it in a love song.
00:56:44If you say you want me, if you say you want me, if you do the right to me, get me together,
00:56:49I'm not easy, if you gotta work for it, I'm the real thing to be.
00:56:53You gotta please me, only talking, but you wanna walk it, only cry, and that's not all you do it.
00:56:59If you really need me, like you say you need me, baby, better show me, baby, better come and say.
00:57:05Say you love me, then put it in a love song.
00:57:09Say you need me, say you need me, then write it in a letter form.
00:57:13Say you want me, say you want me, then text me on the cell phone.
00:57:19Say you love me, say you love me, then put it in a love song.
00:57:24Oh, you can show me, baby, baby, so many possibilities.
00:57:29Oh, we can love to even if you wanna be with me.
00:57:34Oh, work it, baby, work it out.
00:57:36If you want me, baby, work it out.
00:57:39If you need me, baby, work it out, gotta work it out.
00:57:44If you love it, baby, workin' out
00:57:47Gotta work it, baby, workin' out
00:57:49If you want me, baby, workin' out
00:57:52Gotta workin' out
00:57:53Gotta workin' out
00:57:54Randy and Max!
00:58:04Come on over, guys!
00:58:06Come on over, nobody knew!
00:58:10Whoa, whoa, whoa!
00:58:12We're darn good!
00:58:14All right, let's see if the judges agree, Len!
00:58:18It had energy, it had punch, there was good rhythm, nice hip action
00:58:24I think it's a little improvement on last week
00:58:27I didn't quite get it, really, because I thought, Max, that a bodyguard would be protective
00:58:33And I didn't feel in that VT or throughout that dance
00:58:37You were protective towards your partner
00:58:40Bruno?
00:58:43I know what that means, I'm sorry
00:58:44Well, I'll tell you what it means
00:58:45Slapping him on the arse
00:58:47Giving it all this
00:58:48It's not the way to train, in my opinion
00:58:51Have you been to Rio?
00:58:51Well, you go your way, I'll go mine
00:58:53But I find it...
00:58:54Have you been to Rio?
00:58:55I didn't like it
00:58:56That's where Samba comes from
00:58:57Yeah, okay, okay, but I didn't like that whole VT of your way of training
00:59:02It's all good
00:59:03It's all good
00:59:04Bruno?
00:59:06Brandy, my darling, I'm starting to see the comeback of the diva
00:59:10He's a town star of a Russian, but you got him at the end
00:59:15I'm telling you, your placement this week was so much better
00:59:19You know, I told you, you were a bit loose, not clean
00:59:21Right there, right there, right there, right there
00:59:23The leg, sharp
00:59:24Way to go, girl
00:59:26Keep fighting, come back
00:59:27Even a bigger diva than you are
00:59:29Max, Max, Max, come here
00:59:33Come here, come here
00:59:34Come here
00:59:35Come on, turn around
00:59:38Turn around
00:59:38You're a naughty boy with your partner
00:59:40Only she can do it on the show
00:59:44No, wait, but I will say
00:59:45I don't condone that kind of teaching
00:59:47But it worked
00:59:48Because you were hot
00:59:49And you were on fire tonight, Brandy
00:59:51And you finally came out
00:59:52Your arms
00:59:53All righty
00:59:54Congratulations, guys
00:59:56Three for three
00:59:57There you go
00:59:58While you're voting at ABC.com tonight
01:00:06You can also choose your most memorable routines
01:00:09We'll reveal your top ten all-time favorites
01:00:11On an upcoming special episode
01:00:13You can chat
01:00:14Also keep voting for a Macy's designer dance song
01:00:16While you're online
01:00:18Brooke
01:00:18Thanks, Tom
01:00:19So Len called Max out for being a tough coach
01:00:21But obviously working
01:00:22Because every week you come out
01:00:23And deliver a solid performance
01:00:25How are you adapting?
01:00:26I have to adapt
01:00:27Because Max is great
01:00:28And I just think he's doing such a great job with me
01:00:30And I need a push
01:00:31Because I'll get all lazy and stuff
01:00:33So it's good
01:00:34But just so that there's no misunderstanding
01:00:36My number one priority is to make my students better
01:00:39And in this case I'm working my butt off to make her amazing
01:00:42And it's not about the method
01:00:44It's about the end result
01:00:45Let's see if you did it
01:00:46Let's get your scores right now
01:00:47Ladies and gentlemen
01:00:50The judges scores
01:00:51Carrie-Anne Inabe
01:00:53Eight
01:00:54Len Goodman
01:00:55Eight
01:00:56Bruno Tanyoli
01:00:58Eight
01:00:59All right, that's 24 out of 30
01:01:01They told a story with their dance
01:01:03And you have a chance to let your voice be heard
01:01:05With your votes
01:01:06You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com
01:01:08If you want to give them a chance to come back next week
01:01:11And dance some more
01:01:12Then you know what to do
01:01:13Let your voice be heard through your votes, Tom
01:01:15All right, we got more dances
01:01:17More judging from Len Spanky Goodman
01:01:19And the others
01:01:19On this challenging night of story routines
01:01:22Stay right there
01:01:23See how Rick copes with the sexy samba
01:01:25And if the situation can travel through time
01:01:29And next on the floor
01:01:31The energetic star
01:01:32Who's lit up the ballroom
01:01:33With his Megawatt performances
01:01:34Find out what Kyle and Lacey are up to
01:01:37Next
01:01:38Live
01:01:39Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
01:01:53Last week our crowd favorite
01:01:54Performed what Carrie-Anne proclaimed
01:01:56A new school quick step
01:01:58Let's see if he can score
01:01:59With an old school waltz
01:02:01Disney star Kyle Massey
01:02:03And his partner
01:02:04Lacey Schwimmer
01:02:06Last Monday
01:02:11Kyle's quick step
01:02:12May have lacked technique
01:02:13But it got the crowd to their feet
01:02:15As a performer
01:02:18You're unbeatable
01:02:19But focus a little bit more
01:02:20On the technique
01:02:21I ended up in the top three
01:02:24That was just nuts to me
01:02:25So I was super excited for that
01:02:28This is the first time I've been nervous
01:02:30About opening up a song
01:02:31I don't know why
01:02:31What is it?
01:02:33Take it to the limit
01:02:34The Eagles
01:02:35Who are the Eagles?
01:02:36Wait, the Eagles are like
01:02:37The Beatles, right?
01:02:39Yeah, well the Beatles are insects
01:02:40And Eagles are birds
01:02:41Lacey and I didn't like the first song
01:02:43So luckily they gave us a song
01:02:45That we really could connect more with
01:02:47Called falling in love at a coffee shop
01:02:49I think the story should be like a meet cue
01:02:51It's an accidental meeting
01:02:52Two people fall in love
01:02:54And it's random
01:02:54Because it's at a coffee shop
01:02:56I want people to fall in love with you
01:02:57Just how I have
01:02:59What is the waltz?
01:03:02There's no one
01:03:03Oh no
01:03:04Waltz
01:03:04Waltz literally looks like
01:03:06You are dancing on clouds
01:03:07Four
01:03:08Yeah
01:03:10Ooh, that's pretty, pal
01:03:11Sometimes I can make stuff look pretty
01:03:15I want to show everyone that
01:03:17I can be fun
01:03:18And full of energy
01:03:19And be full of technique
01:03:21And romantic at the same time
01:03:23That's so disgusting
01:03:29Being soft and delicate
01:03:32Is not Kyle's cup of tea
01:03:34So this waltz is a huge challenge for him
01:03:37Three
01:03:37Up
01:03:37Your shoulders look like crap
01:03:39Forward
01:03:40Side
01:03:41Oy yoy yoy
01:03:43I say I get extremely like
01:03:45Idiot slow motion
01:03:46One
01:03:46Two
01:03:47This looks like you're a bird
01:03:49Trying to eat me
01:03:50I need to see
01:03:52Royalty
01:03:53If I want to successfully
01:03:55Dance this waltz tonight
01:03:56I need to become
01:03:57The leading man
01:03:58And bring sophistication
01:04:00To the dance floor
01:04:01Dancing the waltz
01:04:09Kyle Massey
01:04:10And his partner
01:04:11Lacey Swimmer
01:04:12I think that possibly
01:04:28Maybe I'm falling for you
01:04:32Yes, there's a chance
01:04:39That I've fallen quite hard over you
01:04:43Yes, there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you
01:04:43I've seen the paths that your eyes wander down
01:04:53I want to come to
01:04:56I think quite possibly
01:05:01Maybe I'm falling for you
01:05:05I think quite possibly maybe I'm falling for you
01:05:06No one understands me quite like you do
01:05:16Through all of the shadowy corners of me
01:05:21I never knew
01:05:23I never knew
01:05:24Just what it was
01:05:27About this old coffee shop
01:05:30I love so much
01:05:32All of the world
01:05:34I never knew
01:05:36I never knew
01:05:37I never knew
01:05:39I never knew
01:05:43I never knew
01:05:44I never knew
01:05:45I never knew
01:05:49Such a smoothie
01:06:02All right
01:06:04Okay, we're going to start with Bruno this time
01:06:10The happy picture of a blossoming teenage romance
01:06:14I'm telling you
01:06:15You've got the likability factor sewn up
01:06:18He's brilliant what you do
01:06:20You're so expressive
01:06:21Your arms are getting much, much better
01:06:23Still a bit of work on the feet
01:06:25All right
01:06:27Kyle, everything that you do
01:06:29You just bring the fun to the floor
01:06:31It's just
01:06:32I giggle when you dance
01:06:34And I see it
01:06:35I'm like
01:06:36I'm like a school girl
01:06:37With a major crush
01:06:38But you're dancing
01:06:39Is that what that was?
01:06:40I'm like
01:06:41I'm like
01:06:42Okay
01:06:43I love the way your arms are so expressive
01:06:44All the way to your fingertips
01:06:45Everything
01:06:46I could feel your passion all the way out to your fingertips
01:06:48I loved it
01:06:49Great storytelling
01:06:50Thank you very much
01:06:51Well, your acting level is very high
01:06:54Your performance level is very high
01:06:56You have done nothing with your footwork at all
01:07:00It's absolutely atrocious
01:07:03Your footwork is non-existent
01:07:06All right
01:07:07Kyle and Lacey will get their scores after the break
01:07:10Yeah
01:07:11I'll hold that for you
01:07:12We've got the man who hovered near the bottom of last week's leaderboard
01:07:15Versus the man who was lodged in the middle
01:07:17See what happens when the situation time travels
01:07:20And Rick Fox Samba's
01:07:22Can they overtake our current leader
01:07:24Adruna Antoni
01:07:25Find out live
01:07:39Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
01:07:40Before the break
01:07:41Kyle and Lacey dance to waltz
01:07:43Let's get their scores
01:07:44Ladies and gentlemen
01:07:46The judges scores
01:07:47Carianne Inabe
01:07:49Eight
01:07:50Len Goodman
01:07:51Seven
01:07:52Bruno Tamioli
01:07:54Eight
01:07:55That's 23 out of 30
01:07:57How does that feel?
01:07:58How does that feel?
01:07:5923 feels good, I'm happy
01:08:01It feels atrocious
01:08:03How difficult was it for you to tap into your inner gentleman
01:08:08And downplay that fun-loving Kyle that we've grown to love in the last few weeks?
01:08:11Um, well, it's always good to do something different
01:08:14You know, something out of your norm
01:08:15And, you know, I know that I can go out there and be energetic
01:08:18And, you know, get the crowd on their feet and go crazy
01:08:20But at the same time, you know, I have to tone it down
01:08:23And just be that gentleman, that Prince Charming
01:08:25All right
01:08:26Well, hopefully there'll be more ballroom dances for Kyle to come
01:08:29But if you want to see them come back
01:08:30Then you've got to support them right now
01:08:32You can call, text, log on to ABC.com
01:08:35Do whatever you need to do
01:08:36Because he still wants to dance, Tom
01:08:38All right, Brooke, thank you
01:08:40Last week, Len said our next star did a good job with a quick step
01:08:44That he termed a series of unfortunate events
01:08:47Let's see what mixed messages await him tonight
01:08:49It's Mike the Situation, Sorrentino and his partner, Karina Smirnoff
01:08:54Last Monday, the situation's quick steps showed improvement
01:09:02But he was still off the beat
01:09:04You have to work on some musicality
01:09:07Musicality, you know, I believe I have that
01:09:09And you can't fist pump if you don't know the beat, right?
01:09:13This week is the story week
01:09:15So I want an RFX trip to have a device that we both step into at some point
01:09:19And transform ourselves into like Situation 2.0 and Karina 2.0
01:09:24The storyline that Karina's come up with, I believe, which has to do with some sort of time machine
01:09:28All types of crazy stuff, I don't even know the case
01:09:30Like a Frankenstein type thing, I guess
01:09:33Yes, except for your dance and it's gonna be nothing like Frankenstein
01:09:36You're gonna be like Frank Sinatra
01:09:38Are you gonna be like a nurse?
01:09:40Not a nurse, no sex fantasies
01:09:42I'm gonna be a scientist with glasses and a white robe
01:09:45Glasses? I like glasses too
01:09:47Glasses are good look
01:09:49I'm joking
01:09:50Quick, quick, shala
01:09:52This week we dance in Fuckstraw to Black Eyed Peas, Boom Boom Pow
01:09:57It's like dance and hip hop to classical music
01:10:00So I have no idea how we're gonna make that happen
01:10:03Boom
01:10:04This is our time machine
01:10:05You're gonna start on this side
01:10:07Step into the time machine
01:10:09Step
01:10:10Crumbs
01:10:11There's gonna be a spaceship time machine on stage
01:10:14And I'm actually excited to see what it looks like
01:10:17And how it really comes together with the Foxtrot and the music
01:10:20And the costumes and everything
01:10:21Ta ta ta ta ta ta
01:10:24What is wrong with you?
01:10:26Stop
01:10:27Try to get my steps down
01:10:29Punk
01:10:30I really gotta buckle down this week
01:10:31And really put in the work to avoid any elimination situation
01:10:35You know?
01:10:36I know the steps where I'm supposed to be on the floor
01:10:38But they're not being done correctly when the music's on
01:10:40Or really when the music's off
01:10:41I did not expect Sich to be so hard on himself
01:10:44He's really taken all the judges' comments to heart
01:10:47And genuinely wants to show improvement
01:10:50We're here and I'm over here
01:10:51And I'm doing them like a scared little kid
01:10:54Like I don't know how to do them
01:10:55What are we gonna do about this?
01:10:56I really don't wanna
01:10:58I don't wanna get eliminated
01:10:59You're gonna sell it
01:11:00I don't wanna get eliminated
01:11:01I knew dancing was gonna be hard
01:11:03I knew the routines were gonna be hard
01:11:04I knew practice was gonna be hard
01:11:06I didn't know it was gonna be this hard though
01:11:08Head slide in
01:11:11Okay
01:11:12Sweet
01:11:13I think you're getting it
01:11:17Grab your flux capacitor
01:11:19The situation in Karina will show off our first ever time travel Foxtrot
01:11:24When we come back live
01:11:35Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
01:11:37Before the break you saw the situation in Karina training
01:11:40To take a trip through time
01:11:42Let's see if they can do it
01:11:45Dancing the Foxtrot
01:11:47The situation
01:11:48And his partner Karina Smirnoff
01:12:10Yo
01:12:11That future
01:12:12Flow
01:12:13That digital split
01:12:14Next level visual
01:12:16I got that
01:12:17Boom
01:12:18Boom
01:12:19How to beat bang
01:12:20Boom
01:12:21I like that boom boom pile
01:12:22Them chickens jacking my style
01:12:24They try to got my swagger
01:12:26I'm on that next now
01:12:28I'm so 3008
01:12:29You so 2008
01:12:31I got that boom boom boom
01:12:33That future boom boom boom
01:12:35Let me get it down
01:12:40I got to get that
01:12:42ooh woo woo
01:12:43Got to get that
01:12:44Robert Brown
01:12:45Let me get it down
01:12:46Ooh woo, go blue
01:12:47Gotta get that
01:12:48Ooh we, go blue
01:12:49Gotta get that
01:12:50Ooh.. go blue
01:12:51Oh my beast when you turn me on
01:12:52To the future Cybertron
01:12:53Harder, faster, better, stronger
01:12:56Lumber sexy ladies extra longer because we got the beat got bound
01:13:01We got the beat got bound
01:13:03We got the beat that made awake that boom boom in your town
01:13:26Situation in Korea, you've got lipstick all over your nose, there you go, there you go.
01:13:33Come on over here, traveling through time!
01:13:39All right, all right, Carrie, I knew you were the happiest, we'll start with you.
01:13:46Boom, boom, wow!
01:13:49Situation!
01:13:50Okay, you are baby-stepping your way to becoming a dancer, leading with that heel, like I've never seen before.
01:13:59I love the attention to detail, thank you so much, and the musicality, a little bit better.
01:14:04All right, here we go.
01:14:06Len?
01:14:07Situation, if that's the future, I'm glad I live in the past, honestly.
01:14:13I admire you so much, because this doesn't come easy, and you're listening to Karina, you're doing the heel leads, and you're really trying to get rise and fall, but I've got, and I don't want to be nasty, it's not in my nature.
01:14:27Of course, I'm trying.
01:14:29Honestly, if you were dancing in my backyard, I'd have to draw the curtains, because it just, it was, it was a bizarre performance.
01:14:39You have curtains, and you're, okay, Bruno?
01:14:41My darling.
01:14:42That's right.
01:14:43The time machine got the situation in the land of the lost foxtrot.
01:14:49Very futuristic, sometimes apocalyptic, but I'm telling you, in a very weird way, very, very entertaining.
01:14:59All right, guys, head on over there for your stories.
01:15:02Tomorrow night, we've got special musical guest, Neo, with an ever-before-seen performance.
01:15:08And we can reveal now that the Grammy-winning artist who is stepping in at the last minute
01:15:13to replace Susan Boyle is our own.
01:15:16Michael Bolton is coming back tomorrow night.
01:15:20So you'll see a daring duel of music and dance in addition to all that at 9, 8 Central,
01:15:25right after No Ordinary Family at 8, 7 Central.
01:15:28Brooke?
01:15:29Thanks, Tom.
01:15:30All right, I'm just going to cut to the chase here.
01:15:32It's week three.
01:15:33Yeah.
01:15:34When are we going to see some abs?
01:15:35Well, we tried to show a little skin today, but I guess we'll show some more next week,
01:15:40hopefully.
01:15:41All right.
01:15:42So you're holding out.
01:15:43Okay.
01:15:44Let's get your scores.
01:15:45I think you can see everything from here.
01:15:46I don't know.
01:15:47Will the judges please reveal their scores?
01:15:49Carrie-Ann Inabe.
01:15:50Seven.
01:15:51Len Goodman.
01:15:52Six.
01:15:53Bruno Tognoli.
01:15:54Seven.
01:15:55All right.
01:15:56That's 20 out of 30.
01:15:57How does that feel?
01:15:58You know what?
01:15:59It feels great.
01:16:00You know what?
01:16:01I really put the work in, the practice in, and I know I'm not a professional dancer,
01:16:05but I'm trying to improve every single week, you know?
01:16:07Show everybody.
01:16:08All right.
01:16:09Well, good luck.
01:16:10Unfortunately, tomorrow night someone has to say goodbye for our elimination.
01:16:13If you don't want it to be the situation in Karina, then support them right now with
01:16:17your votes.
01:16:18Tom?
01:16:19Kelly Osborne, you're in the situation's corner, are you?
01:16:20Is that right?
01:16:21Okay.
01:16:22Over there from our Alumni Association.
01:16:23In the final spot tonight, the NBA star who the judges said became a contender last week,
01:16:29Rick and Cheryl will attempt to steam up the floor with a Samba next time.
01:16:46Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
01:16:48Last week, this star's jive impressed the judges enough to call him a contender.
01:16:53Let's see how he contends with the Samba.
01:16:56NBA champion Rick Fox and his partner, booty shaking there, Cheryl Burke.
01:17:06Last week, Rick proved that tall guys can dance.
01:17:11You have become a contender here.
01:17:13We're a contender.
01:17:14Oh, my gosh.
01:17:15And we, too.
01:17:16So I'm extremely excited.
01:17:20The story is that you just cost your teammates the whole game.
01:17:25And you went to the nearest bar because everyone ditched you.
01:17:27They wanted nothing to do with you anymore.
01:17:28I have actually lost games on last second shot.
01:17:32Really?
01:17:33So I can relate to all of that.
01:17:35Right, left, right.
01:17:36This week, I have the Samba.
01:17:38And I am going to unleash my left side.
01:17:41It's really sharp, sharp movements.
01:17:43Not that face, though.
01:17:46Six and six.
01:17:48Not at my armpits.
01:17:49It's not sexy.
01:17:50I ran out of space.
01:17:51The Samba is a really sexy dance.
01:17:53So if Rick can't portray this, he's going to be in big trouble.
01:17:55Just because you've got a pretty face doesn't mean-
01:17:57I'm not saying nothing.
01:17:58This doesn't mean you're sexy.
01:17:59I get that.
01:18:00Ow.
01:18:01My ego's a bit bruised right now because I got a 26-year-old pipsqueak telling me I'm not sexy enough.
01:18:07One, two, three, and four.
01:18:11Now, I'm thinking you should just go side together, side together.
01:18:15So far, each week, I've been most concerned about getting the new dance into my body as quickly as possible.
01:18:20When it changes, I get concerned that it's being dumbed down because I'm slow.
01:18:24Aren't there required steps?
01:18:26Yes.
01:18:27A lockstep isn't one of them.
01:18:28Any time you teach me a new step, I always equate it as that's a step that's a Samba step that we have to do.
01:18:33No.
01:18:34Jake thinks I'm simplifying the choreography at times, but really, I'm trying to choreograph something to suit his long limbs and make him look good.
01:18:42You need to trust me.
01:18:43I do.
01:18:44Next thing, if I decide to change something-
01:18:46I'm just curious.
01:18:47No, I'm just curious at times.
01:18:49No.
01:18:50No, just trust.
01:18:51Okay.
01:18:52Ready?
01:18:53Cheryl knows what she's doing.
01:18:54She's giving me the right moves for a guy my size.
01:18:56Now, it's just up to me to make it look good.
01:18:59Dancing the Samba, Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke.
01:19:08Oh yeah.
01:19:09That's a matter of work.
01:19:11Yeah.
01:19:12Cool.
01:19:16Yeah.
01:19:17We're so sorry.
01:19:18We're so sorry.
01:19:19We have to have a new job.
01:19:22That's all my stuff.
01:19:24So there's so many people who do that.
01:19:27Wind up, wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:19:32Wind up, wind up, wind up
01:19:36Since it's telling me you're looking, I can feel it on my skin
01:19:40Boy, I wonder what would happen if I tripped and let you in
01:19:45Don't get tripped by my impression
01:19:48I just want me to go on
01:19:50Let's get this conversation, just wind your body up
01:19:54It's the magic on the floor
01:19:59I don't wanna wait no more
01:20:03Cause I'm feeling you vibing, I'm riding high, it's exotic
01:20:07And I want you, and I want you
01:20:11I want you to be closer, get closer and hold me tight to you
01:20:16I wanna feel you, I wanna feel you, I wanna feel you, I
01:20:21Wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:20:26Wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:20:31Wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:20:35Wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:20:40Wind up, wind up, wind up, oh yeah
01:20:44I'm so glad that you've gone up a notch tonight.
01:21:14A lot of our couples had, you've joined them.
01:21:17Your standard was much higher than I've seen the last couple of weeks.
01:21:21Well done.
01:21:22All right, kudos from Len.
01:21:23Bruno?
01:21:24Rick, you definitely got the hot cheek, and you get pretty hot yourself when you let it
01:21:29go.
01:21:30We want to see more of that.
01:21:31Bring it on.
01:21:32All right.
01:21:33Carry on.
01:21:34What can I say?
01:21:35I agree with the audience.
01:21:36I thought it was hot.
01:21:37It was sexy.
01:21:38You were right on music.
01:21:39Good.
01:21:40All right, good.
01:21:43Rendered her speechless almost.
01:21:46Congratulations.
01:21:47Three for three.
01:21:48Head on over there for scores.
01:21:49Nice job.
01:21:50We are heading toward our big 200th episode, and over the next three weeks, you'll see
01:21:57the ballroom transformed like never before.
01:22:00We have some exciting new competition nights, rock and roll week, TV theme week.
01:22:04Next Monday, we'll get a major ballroom makeover.
01:22:07Unplug the band for a night of competitive acoustic performances in the round.
01:22:11That's next week.
01:22:12Don't miss it.
01:22:13Brooke?
01:22:14I think you were actually making Carrie Ann a little bit nervous there.
01:22:17In rehearsals, Cheryl was giving you a hard time about being sexy, so how in the world
01:22:21did you convince him to rip his shirt open tonight?
01:22:23I actually told him about five minutes before he went on the live show tonight, so he had
01:22:27no choice.
01:22:28I was like, just come on.
01:22:29Just do it.
01:22:30You can do it.
01:22:31How did you feel about that, Rick?
01:22:32It was last minute, but I'm game.
01:22:33I was ready to go.
01:22:34Now, in the dance, you play the role of a loser, so do you feel like a winner tonight?
01:22:42I sure do.
01:22:43I got a chance to perform in front of America and on Dancing with the Stars, and it's exciting
01:22:46every week.
01:22:47All right.
01:22:48Let's get your scores.
01:22:51The judges have their scores.
01:22:53Carrie Ann Inaba.
01:22:55Eight.
01:22:56Len Goodman.
01:22:57Eight.
01:22:58Bruno Tomioli.
01:23:00Eight.
01:23:01All right.
01:23:02That's 24 out of 30.
01:23:03How does that feel, you guys?
01:23:04Oh, it feels great.
01:23:05Uphail, for sure.
01:23:06For sure.
01:23:07Very high.
01:23:08Now, usually, you're used to taking orders from a coach like Phil Jackson, and now you're having
01:23:11to listen and take direction from Cheryl.
01:23:14So how does that feel?
01:23:15It feels good.
01:23:16It's different because she also becomes my teammate on nights later, too.
01:23:19So just having to combine the two has been a challenge, and we're great.
01:23:22I fully trust her, though.
01:23:24All right.
01:23:25Well done, you guys.
01:23:26Great way to end the show.
01:23:27If you thought their samba was sexy, then they want your support right now.

01:25:20As for tonight, here's where the judges rank our stars on the leaderboard.
01:25:25At the top are our new leaders, Audrina and Tony with 26.
01:25:29And at the bottom are Margaret and Louis with 18.
01:25:32Now tomorrow night, we've got no choice but to eliminate another star.
01:25:36Make sure your favorites stay in the competition.
01:25:38If you haven't used up all of your votes, there's still time.
01:25:41Don't assume that anyone is safe on judges' scores alone.
01:25:44You need to do your part.
01:25:46Our result show starts at 9, 8 central.
01:25:48Michael Bolton stepping in for Susan Boyle.
01:25:51We have Neo.
