00:00:00Previously on Dancing with the Stars, The Situation and Karina, the situation got too
00:00:12hot and went critical.
00:00:14We got a situation.
00:00:15But don't touch that dial.
00:00:18It's TV theme week.
00:00:20Coming up on tonight's episode, serious drama.
00:00:25Control your temper.
00:00:27My temper?
00:00:28I can't work like this.
00:00:30It's worth wasting more time.
00:00:32Under arrest for not moving your hips.
00:00:34Quirky situations.
00:00:38And TV magic.
00:00:42Live, it's TV theme week on Dancing with the Stars.
00:00:48I'll see you then.
00:00:56Oh, wow.
00:00:58I know it.
00:01:01You carried it.
00:01:11Oh, wow.
00:01:13Live from Hollywood, it's TV theme week on Dancing with the Stars.
00:01:34Yes, it is. Welcome to Dancing with the Stars. I'm Tom Bergeron.
00:01:38And I'm Brooke Burke. It's the halfway point in the competition,
00:01:41and the pressure is on for our couples to step up their game.
00:01:45As we get ready for tonight's first ever TV theme week competition,
00:01:49the judges are going to sum up the abilities of each of our stars
00:01:52and assess what it will take for them to win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
00:01:57And we'll start with Audrina and Tony.
00:02:00Audrina Patrick and her partner Tony DiBolani.
00:02:06Audrina, have you seen her? This girl is a bombshell.
00:02:11First dance, cha-cha-cha. Came out solo.
00:02:15No professional partner to hang on to. Incredible.
00:02:18We said, you've got to be sharper. And she came back week two.
00:02:22They come into promenade position, side by side.
00:02:25Straight down the middle of the floor.
00:02:27Lovely hold. Great body contact.
00:02:30The short pony is turning into secretariat.
00:02:34If you watch her posture in the quick step, then watch it in the waltz.
00:02:38Much more stretch through the spine.
00:02:40Her head is further to the left.
00:02:43What a metamorphosis.
00:02:44But Audrina's got to start to improve little things.
00:02:48In her quick step, there'd be toes when there should have been heels.
00:02:51In the Latin American, she's got to be slightly more feisty.
00:02:54Better hip action.
00:02:55And one of my worries for Audrina is that Tony is going to be a little bit frightened to push her.
00:03:01So I want Tony to give her the hardest choreography imaginable.
00:03:05Hook the legs, hook the legs, hook the legs.
00:03:07Okay.
00:03:07Good. Now I use that momentum and grab on.
00:03:11Audrina's been top of the leaderboard once.
00:03:13And there is no reason why she shouldn't win.
00:03:16This girl is talented.
00:03:18Come on. What a competition.
00:03:21Good dancing's got to influence two things.
00:03:23It's got to influence your brain for the technique.
00:03:26And it's got to affect your heart.
00:03:28This is what happened with Audrina's waltz.
00:03:31That was her best dance.
00:03:34If this is where you need
00:03:39Let it be me
00:03:44Let it be me
00:03:47If this is where you need
00:03:55Let it be me
00:03:58Let it be me
00:04:04On to the stage animal.
00:04:13Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Swimmer.
00:04:16Kyle is our star entertainer.
00:04:20He's so watchable.
00:04:22He has an instinct for the stage.
00:04:25I think I just fell in love.
00:04:27You are officially my first crush of season 11.
00:04:30I'm always impressed by the way Kyle interprets the music.
00:04:34From day one, he was right on those beats.
00:04:38The fact that Kyle is so young,
00:04:39he has the advantage of all that untapped energy.
00:04:43But the lack of experience means that he doesn't know quite how to control it in different situations.
00:04:50For example, when you watch the quick step, I thought, well, this is a jive.
00:04:54Because he throw this girl out in a bell with such intensity that you lose a little bit of the style.
00:05:00Because of Kyle's personality, Latin seems to flow naturally from him.
00:05:05And he has to really work on the ballroom side.
00:05:08A lot of time, Kyle loses the frame.
00:05:10He tries to get the frame right by lifting his chin.
00:05:14And he comes from here instead of coming from the center of the body.
00:05:18What Kyle has to do now is really differentiate the way you use your feet.
00:05:22Oh, oh, oh, what are your feet doing?
00:05:25The ballroom dancers sometimes require a heel lead.
00:05:29While Latin, you go from the toe.
00:05:31And at the moment, he seems to use his feet the same way in all the dances.
00:05:37The secret of great performance is bring that vitality you have in the chemistry,
00:05:44that true relationship to the dance floor.
00:05:48Kyle and Lacey have mastered it.
00:05:49Of all the dances, I think my favorite was the cha-cha-cha for Kyle.
00:05:55Because that dance really suits his personality.
00:05:58Cheeky, funny, you know, he has energy.
00:06:02He just is his dance.
00:06:04She won't ever get enough when she gets a little tough.
00:06:15Keep my head in my way.
00:06:17Keep no matter, let me stay.
00:06:25She won't ever get enough when she gets a little tough.
00:06:29Keep my head in my way.
00:06:30Keep no matter, let me stay.
00:06:32Brandy has all the ingredients to make a great dancer.
00:06:40Brandy and her partner, Maxine Tchmackoski.
00:06:43She is one of the few contenders that has the fire for the Latin dances,
00:06:47but the elegance for the ballroom dances.
00:06:49Brandy's working really hard on her technique.
00:06:51Because on week one, when she did her waltz, all her movements were sporadic.
00:06:56Now, by the time she did her rumba, it sort of smoothed out and sensual.
00:07:01Brandy has the longest arms I've seen on the Dance with the Stars ballroom.
00:07:06And she has learned how to work them in a way that is beautiful.
00:07:10Brandy's improving on a lot of things, but she should work on her spots.
00:07:14When she turns, the speed of her head does not match the speed of her turn.
00:07:17You're thinking feet, I'm thinking face.
00:07:20When I look at Brandy, I see a lot of insecurity.
00:07:23Why are you so insecure about it?
00:07:25That was gorgeous, the whole thing.
00:07:27But I don't want to, like, string you on like a puppet.
00:07:30It's your body versus your mind.
00:07:33For example, last week in her rumba, if she had placed her leg and really settled into it,
00:07:38those movements would have been much larger and would have felt much more sensual and rich.
00:07:42But because she was insecure, she placed it and she quickly moved on to the next step.
00:07:46Brandy's very uncertain if she's good.
00:07:49If she started to feel more confident in what she's doing,
00:07:52we would be more confident watching her.
00:07:55If Brandy starts to believe in herself more,
00:07:56she could go straight to the top of the leaderboard.
00:07:59You have to show me presence of a confident chick.
00:08:02Okay.
00:08:05Last week, Brandy really started to find her confidence
00:08:08because she was completely consumed by the passion.
00:08:11That's why her rumba was her best day.
00:08:13All the things we should have said that I never said
00:08:18All the things we should have done that we never did
00:08:23All the things we should have given but I did not
00:08:27Oh, darling
00:08:30Make it go
00:08:32Make it go
00:08:37Now our stars are backstage getting ready for tonight's live competition just minutes away
00:08:53But first, we'll continue this valuable critique with our judges
00:08:57Here's a look at what's in store for the rest of the night
00:09:00Who I gotta worry about, man?
00:09:02Between you and Kurt
00:09:03Football player
00:09:03Football player
00:09:04Tony said the rumba is like making love on a dance floor
00:09:09That's a little awkward
00:09:10Eat some garlic and onions and lessens the intensity
00:09:13I'm gonna give it a shot
00:09:14Oh my god
00:09:18Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
00:09:35Tonight's live competition will soon begin
00:09:37But right now, let's get back to the judges' favourite dances
00:09:40Of the couples who've made it to the critical halfway point of the season
00:09:44We'll continue with Kurt and Anna
00:09:46Kurt is a true champion
00:09:52Kurt Warner and his partner Anna Trubunskine
00:09:55One of the great quarterbacks of all time
00:09:57He's a man's man
00:09:58He's a sportsman
00:10:00He's a family man
00:10:01And he shows us that dancing can look macho
00:10:05I'm really impressed with the way everything looks like it feels really good to you
00:10:09It seems like it's very easy for you
00:10:11Week one, Viennese waltz
00:10:12I thought, no way
00:10:14Hands like huge frying pans
00:10:17Lack of elegance, no musicality
00:10:20But I told him so
00:10:22The Viennese waltz, it needs grace
00:10:24It needs elegance
00:10:26And he took it like what he is
00:10:27A man
00:10:28And he came back week two
00:10:30With a jive
00:10:32That was fabulous
00:10:33What I need to see from you, Kurt
00:10:35For real improvement
00:10:36Is more musicality
00:10:38In your upper body
00:10:39Forget the football
00:10:40You've got to disguise these hands
00:10:43Make them a little smaller
00:10:45Not this
00:10:46The other thing Kurt has to work on a little bit
00:10:51Is his footwork
00:10:52Watch his Roomba
00:10:53Every time he steps forward
00:10:54His toes turned in
00:10:56It looks horrible
00:10:57He's got to learn
00:10:58To turn those feet out
00:11:00The transition from the football field
00:11:03To the dance floor
00:11:04Can be tough
00:11:05Everything's not very difficult for you
00:11:07And everything is very difficult for me
00:11:09Kurt, you can do it
00:11:12Kurt has enthusiasm
00:11:13And will to win
00:11:15And if Kurt can keep all of his routines
00:11:17As exciting as the jive
00:11:19He can go on and on
00:11:22I thought it was sharp
00:11:24Fast
00:11:24Entertaining
00:11:26Had rhythm and musicality
00:11:28And that's why jive
00:11:29Has been Kurt's best dance
00:11:31I'll take a ride into the danger zone
00:11:36I'll wait to the danger zone
00:11:42Gonna take a ride into the danger zone
00:11:48Now the pistol
00:11:57Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas
00:12:01Bristol, I've got to say, has got guts
00:12:03Coming from the middle of nowhere in Alaska
00:12:19To perform in front of 20 million people in Hollywood
00:12:22When you've never done anything before
00:12:24Is hard
00:12:25I was very impressed by Bristol
00:12:27Because she seemed to be a natural mover
00:12:30I have a confession
00:12:31I completely thought you were gonna come out here
00:12:33And be boring
00:12:34And I was so wrong
00:12:36Bristol has great coordination
00:12:38Great musicality
00:12:39She's light on her feet
00:12:41A lot of things that a dancer has naturally
00:12:43But Bristol is not an entertainer
00:12:45She doesn't know how to sell a performance
00:12:48So she has to learn to become a character
00:12:51And your face has to tell a story
00:12:53Sometimes you look at Bristol's face
00:12:55And she goes vacant
00:12:56She does one move
00:12:58She looks better
00:12:58Then she looks lost
00:13:00Oh, where am I?
00:13:00What am I doing?
00:13:01Oh, I'm here
00:13:02Being sexy is a crucial part
00:13:06Especially in Latin dances
00:13:08But Bristol is not very comfortable about being sexy
00:13:11I feel awkward
00:13:12No, you didn't say that
00:13:13What did you say?
00:13:14I said I can't do that
00:13:16That word is not allowed
00:13:17Can you please throw that word out of here?
00:13:20Mark is working very, very hard
00:13:22In trying to get that out of her
00:13:24Give me two wiggles
00:13:25Yes, please
00:13:29Pretty please do that
00:13:31Bristol has to believe she belongs here
00:13:33It's not just like, you know
00:13:34Okay, we'll see what's gonna happen
00:13:36She has to want it
00:13:37In the future
00:13:38I want to see Bristol explode out there
00:13:41Blood, sweat, tears and guts
00:13:43I want to see
00:13:44I am sure there is a little minx in there
00:13:46In a cage
00:13:47Open that door
00:13:49Let the minx out
00:13:50When she did the quick step
00:13:52She cast out the shackles of Winnie Bishop
00:13:54And that's why the quick step
00:13:56Was one of the best dancers
00:13:57When I feel my strength
00:13:59When I feel my strength
00:14:00Yeah, it's almost gone
00:14:02I remember what Mama said
00:14:04Oh, you know
00:14:05It's just time to end
00:14:08She said, I don't want to be dead
00:14:11It's a game of give and take
00:14:14You're playing with me now
00:14:15Oh, it's just time to end
00:14:18She said, trust me to die
00:14:21No matter how long it takes, I'll break
00:14:25She's 76 years old
00:14:33And she's still got it
00:14:35Florence Henderson
00:14:36And her partner Corky Ballas
00:14:38I've said this before
00:14:39Dancing with the Stars
00:14:40Is a dance competition
00:14:41But it's also an entertainment programme
00:14:44And Florence
00:14:45Great entertainment
00:14:46Florence is improving in so many levels
00:14:50Her timing is pretty good
00:14:52I was so impressed in her Roomba
00:14:54Corky allowed her to start on her own
00:14:58Straight into some walks
00:14:59Right on time
00:15:01And met up with Corky
00:15:02Their eyes met
00:15:03And electricity
00:15:04Entered the ballroom
00:15:05But Florence's biggest trouble
00:15:09Is that she can't compete
00:15:12With some of these young people physically
00:15:14Especially in some of the faster dancers
00:15:16But Florence can compete with anyone else
00:15:18On her footwork
00:15:19Age doesn't come into the fact
00:15:21Whether you step forward on your heel
00:15:23Or on your toe
00:15:23Florence has got to try and up the ante
00:15:26Regarding her own level of skills
00:15:29So she's got to try and dance
00:15:31With a little bit more artistry
00:15:33She is not the easiest person
00:15:35To get from down to up
00:15:37You're supposed to land like that
00:15:39Holy crap, are you kidding me?
00:15:41We just need a few smoother transitions
00:15:43From one step to the other
00:15:45If I had to pick one dance
00:15:48That sums up Florence Henderson
00:15:49Elegance
00:15:50Entertainment
00:15:52Beautiful footwork
00:15:53I'd have to say the Roomba
00:15:55I said something wrong
00:15:59Now I long for yesterday
00:16:03Yesterday
00:16:05Love was such an easy name to play
00:16:11And now I need a place to hide
00:16:15Oh I need a place to hide
00:16:25Oh I need a place to hide
00:16:26You must have to hide
00:16:26All right, when we come back
00:16:31We'll bring you the judges' favorite dances
00:16:33And an analysis of our final two couples
00:16:36And then our TV theme week competition will begin live.
00:16:54Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:16:56Our couples are backstage taking their positions to make their grand entrance for tonight's TV theme week routines.
00:17:03Before they do, we've got the judges' assessment of our final two stars.
00:17:07These critical insights will help you decide who shows the most promise on our star's journey toward the trophy.
00:17:13Up next, Rick and Cheryl.
00:17:18Rick is not just eye candy. This guy can dance.
00:17:21Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burton.
00:17:24Rick, you could be my twin that I lost at birth.
00:17:29Look at us.
00:17:29I was so concerned when I heard Rick Fox was going to be on the show.
00:17:33Six foot seven, basketball player.
00:17:36I thought he's going to be clumsy.
00:17:38He's going to be awkward.
00:17:39He's going to have no movement.
00:17:41Wrong in every category.
00:17:45Every dancer's got a character.
00:17:47And Rick comes out and embraces that character.
00:17:50Look at him in that Argentine tango with the white tuxedo.
00:17:55A handsome devil.
00:17:55Devil.
00:17:57Tricky Ricky, king of the ballroom.
00:17:59Well, not quite yet.
00:18:01The first thing you look at when a dancer comes onto the floor is the posture.
00:18:05Don't walk like this.
00:18:06Stand up.
00:18:08You need to think.
00:18:09If it's hunched, if it's crunched, you've got to stand up.
00:18:14Dance to your height.
00:18:16Rick tends to be a little slow at times.
00:18:18There's definitely, occasionally, a need for speed.
00:18:22Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
00:18:25So there's no pause?
00:18:27There never was a pause.
00:18:29You've got to be faster.
00:18:30Sports guys during their career pick up injuries.
00:18:33Rick is no exception.
00:18:34Here's the problem.
00:18:35Look, no, there's no problem.
00:18:36There's no problem.
00:18:37I don't want to hear you.
00:18:38I can't touch my shoulders.
00:18:39He's got to work on his mobility, especially in his upper body, through his shoulder, elbow,
00:18:46wrist and hand.
00:18:47Get more musical through the upper body.
00:18:51I never doubt a champion.
00:18:52And if Rick Fox can come out and perform a samba like he did a couple of weeks ago, with
00:18:57great posture, great musicality, nice rhythmic kick, anything is possible.
00:19:03Rick Fox is one to watch.
00:19:09Jennifer is unstoppable because she's hot, hot, hot.
00:19:37Jennifer Gray and her partner, Derek Hoffman.
00:19:40Jennifer and Derek have the biggest age gap between them.
00:19:43She's 50, but she has got the energy and the sex appeal of a 26-year-old.
00:19:48Jennifer is always impressing me.
00:19:49On week one, she came out with that waltz that she dedicated to Patrick Swayze.
00:19:53She touched us all with the fluidity and lyricism of her movement.
00:19:56Something very profound just happened right now.
00:20:01Last week when she did her Argentine tango, I was truly impressed with the strength she had.
00:20:05She really is pushing herself to the edge with incredibly difficult choreography.
00:20:09This really is primetime delight!
00:20:13Jennifer has a tendency to wear her emotions on her sleeve, which makes for great dancing
00:20:19because it allows her to embody the characters of all the dances.
00:20:22But sometimes the nerves get the best of her.
00:20:25I'm a f***ing dance!
00:20:27She needs to get her emotions in check because on Story Week, she psyched herself out and
00:20:32messed up at the beginning of the dance.
00:20:35The rush we went to, you were going too quick on this.
00:20:37I was?
00:20:37My biggest fear for Jennifer is that she's got a lot of injuries and if she keeps pushing
00:20:41herself this hard, she could actually get hurt.
00:20:43Woo!
00:20:45Why is that so hard?
00:20:46So Derek has to protect that neck in all the choreography he does.
00:20:50I wore my hair up just so you could see my sky so you wouldn't forget.
00:20:54Yeah.
00:20:54See?
00:20:55Oh yeah.
00:20:56Jennifer has set the judges' expectations very high.
00:20:59If she doesn't keep up and maintain that level, she's got nowhere to go but down.
00:21:04If she continues to deliver great performances like the Argentine tango, everybody else better
00:21:08step up the game.
00:21:10That was an incredibly difficult dance.
00:21:12That's why I think it was her best dance so far.
00:21:14That's why I think it was her best dance.
00:21:44Okay, those are the judges' favorite dances that brought our stars to this night.
00:21:51Now it's time for them to take the floor for our first ever TV theme week.
00:21:55So let the themes begin.
00:21:57Let's welcome our stars.
00:21:59The Hills star, Audrina Patridge and Tony D'Avillani.
00:22:19Disney star, Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer.
00:22:22NBA champion, Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke.
00:22:28R&B singer, Brandi and Maxim Schmerkowski.
00:22:32Teen activist, Crystal Palin and Mark Ballas.
00:22:37Super Bowl MVP, Kurt Warner and Anna Kravinskaya.
00:22:42TV icon, Florence Henderson and Korky Ballas.
00:22:45Movie star, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough.
00:22:49Movie star, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough.
00:22:49Oh, this is going to be
00:23:19one. These eight couples have made it to this halfway point. Now traditionally, this is when the competition ratchets up to the next level as the battle for that glorious mirrorball trophy intensifies. Plus, it's our first ever TV theme week. Each of the routines will be danced to a popular TV theme song. In the leadoff spot, the star who maintained her hold on second place with last week's all acoustic rumba. It's R&B singer Brandi and her partner
00:23:49Maxim Svierkowski.
00:23:54Last Monday, Brandi's sensual rumba swept Bruno away.
00:24:00It was like watching two lovers stealing a moment of passion in a moonlit garden.
00:24:07He did good. He did really good.
00:24:11I think I did good.
00:24:12He did great. I'm proud of you. Hey, buddy.
00:24:14We have the Friends song.
00:24:19Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. I love that song.
00:24:22Like it?
00:24:23I love that song. Because it's everything that describes a friend. It's everything that, you know, you would be to your friend, I would be to my friend, I'll be there for you.
00:24:33One, two. In this competition so far, Brandi and I have been going through a lot of ups and downs in our relationship.
00:24:41Nothing is happening over here. I need to know what I'm doing first.
00:24:43It's like... I don't know what I'm doing yet.
00:24:46We've been finding each other in how to work together.
00:24:50Do you feel this or no?
00:24:51Is it going down by itself or you're putting it down?
00:24:55You make me laugh.
00:24:56And you make me cry with this elbow.
00:24:58Oh, God.
00:24:59This week, we're really embracing the idea of friendship and this quick step is really going to show it.
00:25:05Sit. I sit and I give you a flower.
00:25:13In the short time we've known each other, we've gotten very close.
00:25:17My friends are very important to me.
00:25:18Being there for your friend when they're up, when they're down, it's just a bond that should never be broken.
00:25:24Will you be there for me?
00:25:26You know I'm there for you. Are you there for me?
00:25:28Not often.
00:25:29No, I'm just kidding.
00:25:35Okay, when we come back, Brandi and Max will kick off tonight's celebration of TV.
00:25:41We'll see what they come up with next, live.
00:25:48Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars tonight.
00:26:03For the first time, all of the routines will be performed to some of your favorite TV hits.
00:26:08To start it off, Brandi and Max are dancing to the theme from Friends.
00:26:14Dancing the quick step.
00:26:15Brandi and her partner, Maxim Chmierkowski.
00:26:18So no one told you life was gonna be this way.
00:26:28Your job's a joke, you're proven.
00:26:30Your love lies to your weight.
00:26:33It's like you're always stuck in second gear.
00:26:37And when it hasn't been your day, week, or month, or even your year.
00:26:41But I'll be there for you.
00:26:46I'll be there for you.
00:26:51I'll be there for you.
00:26:54Cause you're there for me too.
00:26:56No one could ever know me.
00:27:02No one could ever see me.
00:27:05Since you're the only one to know.
00:27:07What it's like to be me.
00:27:09Someone to face the day with.
00:27:12Make it through all the rest with.
00:27:14Someone to always laugh with.
00:27:16Even if I'm worse than best with you.
00:27:19Yeah!
00:27:20Yeah!
00:27:21I'll be there for you.
00:27:26I'll be there for you.
00:27:31I can feel it, I can feel it, I can feel it, I can feel it.
00:27:32I'll be there for you.
00:27:35Cause you're there for me too.
00:27:45Brandi and Max!
00:27:47Come on!
00:27:52Come on!
00:27:58Great start!
00:28:02Good start over here.
00:28:03Sorry, we did so long!
00:28:04No, that's alright.
00:28:06That's alright.
00:28:07Let's go to Archer.
00:28:07Look at that smiling Len Goodman.
00:28:10I'm so impressed with that.
00:28:13I'm not joking.
00:28:14A quick step is a really tough dance.
00:28:17You have to keep this part of your body calm.
00:28:20And down below it's all fast and furious.
00:28:22You did that.
00:28:23It was full of energy.
00:28:24It was a little bit sassy here and there.
00:28:26It was without doubt your best dance.
00:28:29Well done!
00:28:32Bruno!
00:28:33Brandi!
00:28:34Max!
00:28:34You found the right formula.
00:28:38Because I'm telling you, he's working.
00:28:40I broke my pen.
00:28:42I said, it was going so fast.
00:28:43You broke your pen?
00:28:44I was counting all the way through.
00:28:45She's going to lose it.
00:28:46She's going to, she can't do it.
00:28:47She's going to lose it.
00:28:48She's going to lose it.
00:28:49You didn't!
00:28:50You were on it!
00:28:51You were on it!
00:28:53You were on it!
00:28:54A broken pen.
00:28:56Carrie Ann.
00:28:57You two have been through a lot.
00:28:59But they say, what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger.
00:29:02And I see such an amazing new bond.
00:29:04Not only are you trusting yourself, Brandi, trusting your partner, and it has taken you
00:29:08guys up a huge notch.
00:29:10You're at a whole other level now.
00:29:11Great job.
00:29:12Well done, guys.
00:29:13Congratulations.
00:29:14That's great.
00:29:15Take care.
00:29:16Go ahead.
00:29:17You know, that's the tradition.
00:29:18This week, we get eight votes per phone line, per email address at abc.com.
00:29:24AT&T customers can text their votes, message, and data rates apply.
00:29:28Lines remain open until a half hour after the show.
00:29:31Brooke.
00:29:32Thanks, Tom.
00:29:33That's the way to start the show.
00:29:34Now, your relationship has been through some ups and downs, but tonight you really connected.
00:29:38How's your friendship now?
00:29:40This is like my best friend now, huh, Max?
00:29:42Now?
00:29:42What about last week?
00:29:43Last week, too.
00:29:44And the weeks before.
00:29:46All right, Brandi, we're at the halfway point right now.
00:29:49Who is your biggest competition?
00:29:51My nerves and my fear.
00:29:53All right, let's get your scores.
00:29:57Will the judges please reveal their scores?
00:29:59Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:30:01Nine.
00:30:02Len Goodman.
00:30:03Nine.
00:30:04Bruno Tanyoli.
00:30:06Nine.
00:30:07All right, that's a 27 out of 30, which is your highest score so far.
00:30:11How does that feel?
00:30:12It feels amazing.
00:30:13Thank you guys so much.
00:30:14All right, no one wants to rely on judges' scores alone.
00:30:17They want some of your votes as well.
00:30:19So support your favorites.
00:30:20You can call, text, and log on to abc.com if you want to see more of Brandi and Max.
00:30:25All right, Brooke, thanks a lot.
00:30:26TV theme week continues with the stars who've had their ups and downs.
00:30:29The men who've been racing neck and neck.
00:30:32And the women who've risen to the top.
00:30:34Next up, it's the story of a lovely lady.
00:30:38As you'll see for all our couples, this is going to be one of the strangest weeks ever.
00:30:43Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, okay, okay.
00:30:45Barry Williams always had a crush on me on the Brady Bunch.
00:30:49Those eyes.
00:30:50Still got those eyes.
00:30:51Mmm.
00:30:52Tony said the rumba is like making love on a dance floor.
00:30:59I told a little secret that Richard Gere told me once.
00:31:02Eat some garlic and onions and lessens the intensity.
00:31:04Oh, my God.
00:31:07Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars TV theme week.
00:31:31Up next, dancing to the song that has been in America's head since 1969,
00:31:36the woman who frightened Carrie Ann last week with a racy rumba.
00:31:41It's TV icon Florence Henderson and her partner, Corky Ballot.
00:31:50Last week, Florence's raunchy rumba was a little too much for Carrie Ann.
00:31:55You're Mrs. Brady.
00:31:57What?
00:31:58What is that?
00:32:00Drum roll, please.
00:32:02The Brady Bunch.
00:32:06Oh, I'm so happy.
00:32:08The Brady Bunch touches people's hearts in a way that I don't think any other show has.
00:32:14But you're going to feel me push you more than you ever have this time.
00:32:17Okay.
00:32:18I cannot believe I've made it to week five and that makes me feel more confident.
00:32:22Five, six, seven.
00:32:23Well, that was more.
00:32:24That's, now that's moving your butt.
00:32:26You ain't kidding me.
00:32:28Florence's body is holding up much better than predicted.
00:32:32Every week we survive, I start believing we could go farther and farther.
00:32:35Perfect.
00:32:36Since we'll be dancing to the Brady Bunch theme, I thought I would have an old friend stop by.
00:32:47Yeah.
00:32:48Whoa.
00:32:49Hotsy, hotsy, hotsy.
00:32:50Oh.
00:32:51Well, Barry Williams, you know, always had a crush on me on the Brady Bunch.
00:32:55I'm not going to confirm nor will I deny any kind of relationship.
00:33:06Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:33:07Okay.
00:33:08Okay, good.
00:33:09That's, wow, awesome.
00:33:10I know you're the master, but I've known her a while.
00:33:14You know, some things last a season and other things last for decades in syndication.
00:33:18It was great seeing my old friend Barry and having all that attention from my two favorite
00:33:23men.
00:33:24Those eyes.
00:33:25Still got those eyes.
00:33:26Still got them.
00:33:27And now I'm all fired up for this tango.
00:33:29He's pretty hot, isn't he?
00:33:31He's a little young for you.
00:33:32He's younger than Bobby.
00:33:35Dancing the tango, Florence Henderson and her partner Corky Ballas.
00:33:48Here's the story of a lovely lady who was bringing up three very lovely girls.
00:33:55All of them had hair of bone like her mother, the youngest one in the world.
00:34:03Here's the story of a man named Brady who was busy with three boys of his own.
00:34:10There were four men living all together, yet they were all alone.
00:34:17Till the one day when the lady met this fellow and they knew that it was much more than a hunt.
00:34:24That this group must somehow form a family.
00:34:28That's the way we all became the Brady Buns, the Brady Buns, the Brady Buns.
00:34:36That's the way we became the Brady Buns.
00:34:41The Brady Buns, the Brady Buns.
00:35:05That's the way we became the Brady Buns.
00:35:12Lawrence and Corky.
00:35:21Mama Brady.
00:35:26That was fun.
00:35:31All right.
00:35:33Let's start.
00:35:34Bruno, you start.
00:35:35Lawrence.
00:35:36The beginning, when you started and you played it classic, straight, it was a beautiful tango.
00:35:44Then why going into kind of a ragdoll mode when it's not necessary?
00:35:49Isn't that the tango?
00:35:50Yeah, but no, but it's not necessary.
00:35:52I think you're good enough to actually come out here and do a dance because you're good at ballroom.
00:35:57And it looked fabulous at the beginning.
00:35:59For me, it wasn't necessary to go down that route because you've got the means to do something great.
00:36:04All right, carry on.
00:36:05While Len recovers, you take over.
00:36:06Yeah, no, poor guy.
00:36:07Your neck okay?
00:36:08I'm sorry.
00:36:09I'm sorry.
00:36:10I liked it.
00:36:11I really thought this was wonderful.
00:36:12Thank you, Karen.
00:36:13Thank you, Karen.
00:36:14You were doing moves just like all the younger people.
00:36:18And I think this shows off your elegance.
00:36:20You are sexy.
00:36:21You're a sexy senior and you worked it.
00:36:23Yes, she is.
00:36:24But I will say that some of the moves threw you off on the timing.
00:36:27I thought it was funny.
00:36:28I got it to play with the music, but I think that it threw you off on your timing.
00:36:31But otherwise...
00:36:32Can I just say...
00:36:33Yes?
00:36:34You try to do the tango to the Brady Bunch theme.
00:36:35Yeah.
00:36:36It's pretty fast.
00:36:37There is that.
00:36:38There is that.
00:36:39Len...
00:36:40Len, over to you.
00:36:41I wish I was a sexy senior, but anyway, that doesn't matter.
00:36:44Oh, my God.
00:36:45Oh, my God.
00:36:46Oh, my God.
00:36:47Oh, my God.
00:36:48Oh, my God.
00:36:49Oh, my God.
00:36:51Oh, my God.
00:36:52Oh, my God.
00:36:53Oh, my God.
00:36:56Well, and you have got to week five on merit.
00:36:59It's not a fluke.
00:37:00It's...
00:37:01You got there because of your dancing talent.
00:37:04Parts of that tango were excellent.
00:37:08Couple of bits were a little bit too frantic.
00:37:10But I think that's possibly your best dance so far.
00:37:15All right.
00:37:16There you go.
00:37:18Lawrence and Corky will get their scores after the break,
00:37:21and then they're the hands of through 208 touchdown passes
00:37:25yet to the tee to disappoint Bruno.
00:37:27Kirk and Anna will go for a big-time score live.
00:37:31Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:37:47Before the break, America's favorite TV mom danced a tango
00:37:50to the theme from the Brady Bunch.
00:37:52Let's get their scores.
00:37:54The judges have their scores.
00:37:56Carrie Ann Inabe.
00:37:58Seven.
00:37:59Glenn Goodman.
00:38:02Bruno Tanyola.
00:38:03Seven.
00:38:04All right, that's 21 out of 30.
00:38:06Lots of happiness back here.
00:38:07Now, Florence, I know that the Brady Bunch
00:38:09was a huge part of your life.
00:38:11What was it like to dance to such a nostalgic theme song
00:38:13like that?
00:38:14Well, you know, it was very much fun
00:38:17and to hear the audience react and to know that I hope
00:38:20Robert Reed, who died of AIDS, was watching.
00:38:24I did it for him.
00:38:25All right.
00:38:26Well, well done.
00:38:27All right, everyone, if you want to see
00:38:28what Corky and Florence have in store for our explosive
00:38:31Rock and Roll Week next week, then they need your help right now.
00:38:34They want you to vote for them.
00:38:35You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:38:38Tom?
00:38:38All right.
00:38:39Thanks, Brooke.
00:38:40Next up tonight, the star who saw his lowest scores
00:38:43of the competition last week.
00:38:44Can he redeem himself with a bewitching quick step?
00:38:48Super Bowl MVP, Kurt Warner and his partner, Anna Trabunskia.
00:38:56Tell me, did you send the cross?
00:38:58Last Monday, Kurt's rumba had romance but fumbled on technique,
00:39:03pushing him further down the leaderboard.
00:39:05We didn't get the best scores.
00:39:07Well, I mean, it was disappointing, but I'm used to that.
00:39:12I've had plenty of people tell me I wasn't very good at football.
00:39:16Been cut a number of times, been benched a number of times.
00:39:19Had to work in a grocery store for a while because people didn't think I could play.
00:39:22I know what it means to go the long route, to have to overcome and persevere.
00:39:27But the great thing is, is that after all of that, when I got my opportunity,
00:39:32I was able to seize it and accomplish a lot of great things.
00:39:35It worked for me in football, so hopefully it can work for me in the ballroom as well.
00:39:38Who's that way?
00:39:39Seven.
00:39:40We have a song from a TV show called Bewitched.
00:39:43I did not grow up in America, and all these TV shows, I have no idea what they are.
00:39:47It's about a husband, a wife, the wife's a witch, and she wiggles her nose and transforms
00:39:54different things in the show.
00:39:55So, can you wear your nose?
00:39:57Mmm.
00:39:58It's all right.
00:39:59We'll work on it.
00:40:00Let's do it together.
00:40:01Okay.
00:40:02From the...
00:40:03High step.
00:40:04High step?
00:40:05Walter Payton.
00:40:06A what?
00:40:07The Walter Payton.
00:40:08Walter who?
00:40:09Since Anna is from Russia, we have a number of cultural differences.
00:40:14American football, Walter Payton.
00:40:16Vilka Strelka.
00:40:17Who's that?
00:40:18Vilka Strelka.
00:40:19Vilka Strelka.
00:40:20Vilka Strelka.
00:40:21He's definitely hot from here.
00:40:23Vilka Strelka.
00:40:24Those were two dogs that went out here.
00:40:27Two dogs?
00:40:28You know two dogs?
00:40:29Vilka Strelka are two Russian dogs that went into outer space.
00:40:34They are legendary.
00:40:35America.
00:40:36Walter Payton.
00:40:37Vilka Strelka.
00:40:38Who do you know?
00:40:39Hmm.
00:40:40One, two, three.
00:40:41Oh.
00:40:42This has been a lot of work, but I'm having a lot of fun.
00:40:45I'm really hoping that we can get our scores up so I can continue to grow as a dancer.
00:40:49Good job, Vilka.
00:40:50Thank you, Strelka.
00:40:52Strelka.
00:40:53Strelka.
00:40:54Dancing the Quickster.
00:40:55Kurt Warner.
00:40:56And his partner, Anna Trebunskai.
00:40:57Dancing the Quickster.
00:40:58Dancing the Quickster.
00:40:59Kurt Warner.
00:41:00And his partner, Anna Trebunskai.
00:41:02And his partner looks good.
00:41:19Good job.
00:41:21Dear God.
00:42:54I loved it.
00:42:56We're going to, uh, by the way, I think I can speak.
00:42:59TV purists everywhere know you were dancing as the first Darren.
00:43:03Well, of course.
00:43:03Of course.
00:43:04All right, Carrie Ann, you start.
00:43:05I think I just saw the spirit of Gene Kelly enter the body of Richard Kelly.
00:43:12Gene Kelly was known to be the manly man that made everything look so casual and so easy,
00:43:16and you just made that look like it was nothing, and it's something you've been doing all your
00:43:20life currently.
00:43:21I thought it was wonderful.
00:43:22Congratulations.
00:43:23Good job, Len.
00:43:24Well, after last week, the only way is up, and up you have gone.
00:43:29Your posture and frame were good.
00:43:31You lost it a little bit.
00:43:33Tied heavy in the legs occasionally, but vast improvement and a great performance.
00:43:38Well done.
00:43:40Do you know you want to make it unanimous?
00:43:41Oh, the magic is back.
00:43:44I like it when you're bewitched.
00:43:46Because he's working.
00:43:48You were on sparkling form.
00:43:50Your timing.
00:43:51You managed to get all the musical accents, all these little twinkling effects in the
00:43:56music.
00:43:56You reflected that.
00:43:57You led with ease.
00:43:58Yes, the posture sometimes went, but brilliant.
00:44:04Three for three, guys.
00:44:06Congratulations.
00:44:07Head on over there for your scores.
00:44:09On tomorrow night's results show, we've got performances from Shakira and red hot pop
00:44:14sensation Jason Derulo, plus the return of David Hasselhoff, Bruno's dance DVD, and our
00:44:21celebration of TV continues.
00:44:24I don't know if that's a promo or a warning in that case.
00:44:26Of course, we'll be sending another star on the road back home at 9, 8 central, your
00:44:30dance DVD, huh?
00:44:32Right after No Ordinary Family at 8, 7 central.
00:44:35Brooke?
00:44:36Thanks, Tom.
00:44:37Kurt, last week was tough for you, and I know that in your football career you overcame
00:44:40adversity.
00:44:41How did that help you with your comeback tonight?
00:44:43Well, I mean, you understand that you're not always going to be perfect at everything,
00:44:47so you have to take what's laid out in front of you, and you've got to do the best
00:44:50with it, and so last week wasn't the most fun, but you learn from that, you come back,
00:44:54you work harder, and hopefully you can turn it around the next week.
00:44:58Anna, how much has Kurt reproved since week one?
00:45:01Oh my gosh, so dramatically.
00:45:02I mean, he couldn't even walk.
00:45:04Easy, easy.
00:45:05I mean, as a dancer, but your right arm was always amazing.
00:45:11I always had that going for me.
00:45:13Let's get your scores right now.
00:45:14Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores.
00:45:19Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:45:218.
00:45:22Len Goodman.
00:45:238.
00:45:24Bruno Tomioli.
00:45:258.
00:45:28That's 24 out of 30, your highest score so far.
00:45:30How does that feel?
00:45:31Feels good.
00:45:32Feels good.
00:45:32We're making improvements, getting better.
00:45:34I'm happy.
00:45:35All right, congratulations.
00:45:36Now, remember, the judges' scores make up only half of the couple's total.
00:45:40Your voice makes up the other half, so call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:45:44Tom?
00:45:45All right, thank you very much.
00:45:47Last week, the judges told our next star they wanted her to be sharper and less detached.
00:45:52Let's see if she can give them what they want with the dance to the theme from the hills.
00:45:57Appropriately enough, Hills star Audrina Patridge and her partner, Tony Davilani.
00:46:05Last Monday, Audrina's Argentine tango was intense,
00:46:09but she failed to capture the steamy character of the dance.
00:46:13It was effective in a way, but you performed a bit like, you know, the Ice Queen type,
00:46:18you know, cool and determined, slightly detached.
00:46:21Bruno did point out that he wants to see more passion out of us, so this is a rumba.
00:46:25This is the perfect dance for us to bring that to the floor.
00:46:28You're going to wrap this leg, this leg on my leg.
00:46:30Okay.
00:46:31Wrap it.
00:46:32Tony said the rumba is like making love on a dance floor, so being literally forehead
00:46:38to forehead, almost like we're going to hit noses.
00:46:41That's a little awkward.
00:46:43Hips, hips, go lower, go lower.
00:46:45How much lower can you go?
00:46:46Not your hands.
00:46:47I'm talking about your body.
00:46:51Audrina was feeling a little awkward about doing an intimate and romantic rumba with me,
00:46:55so I told a little secret that Richard Gere told me once that if you have to be intimate
00:46:59with someone, eat some garlic and onions and lessens the intensity and makes it a little
00:47:03bit more fun.
00:47:04When you approach the scene now, you're no longer thinking about the fact you're kissing
00:47:07somebody.
00:47:08Yeah, you're thinking about the garlic.
00:47:09So you're always in a, you're thinking about that, so there's a pleasant, a pleasant smile
00:47:15on your face.
00:47:17I'm going to give it a shot.
00:47:19Oh, here it goes.
00:47:24This better work.
00:47:29Oh my God.
00:47:33Wow.
00:47:33I think you just burnt every one of my nose hairs.
00:47:38I could barely stand my own breath right now, but it's going to help.
00:47:42At the end of the day, it took that awkwardness away and we actually got closer together, so
00:47:46hopefully the rumba will turn out great.
00:47:48God, I'm never eating onions again.
00:47:54Okay, so we've already learned that Tony got punked by Richard Gere.
00:48:00Audrina will attempt to prove the hills are alive when she dances with the dull
00:48:03couple, Tony Dabalani.
00:48:04Next, and still to come, the rest of our stars will show off their TV theme routines.
00:48:10Which one of our couples will dare to dance?
00:48:13Yeah, monkey suits.
00:48:14We'll find out.
00:48:15Plus, you'll see what the week held for the rest of our stars, from the funny to the furious.
00:48:20Let's try sad.
00:48:26Hello, Kyle.
00:48:28Hello, Angel.
00:48:30Come on now, girl.
00:48:31And you only have four days to go, huh?
00:48:34You can't let Kurt Warner reach it.
00:48:36Uh-oh.
00:48:37We're at the halfway point and the pressure to stay on top is getting bigger and bigger.
00:48:41Control your temper.
00:48:43My temper?
00:48:44I'm trying to get things done and she's being way overly sensitive.
00:48:48We're wasting more time.
00:48:50It's ridiculous.
00:48:50Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:49:06By the way, just a little note for those of you keeping score.
00:49:09So far, each of our three couples has achieved a personal best for the season in their dances tonight.
00:49:15So, no pressure, Tony.
00:49:17No pressure.
00:49:19Before the break, we saw what happened when Audrina and Tony trained to dance to the theme from the hills.
00:49:26Cue the disembodied British voice.
00:49:29Dancing the rumba.
00:49:31Audrina Patrich and her partner Tony DiVolani.
00:49:34I am unwritten to mine.
00:49:46I'm undefined.
00:49:50I'm just beginning.
00:49:54It's in my hand.
00:49:57Ending unplanned.
00:49:59Staring at the blank page before you.
00:50:04Open up the dirty window.
00:50:06Let the sun illuminate the words that you cannot find.
00:50:10Reaching for something in the distance.
00:50:13So close you can almost face it.
00:50:16Release your inefficience.
00:50:18Feel the rain on your skin.
00:50:20No one else can feel it for you.
00:50:22Only you can let it in.
00:50:24No one else, no one else can speak the words on your lips.
00:50:30Get yourself in words unspoken.
00:50:32Take a light when it's wide open today.
00:50:35When your book begins, feel the rain on your skin.
00:50:39No one else can feel it for you.
00:50:42Only you can let it in.
00:50:44No one else, no one else can speak the words on your lips.
00:50:49Get yourself in words unspoken.
00:50:51Live your life when it's wide open today.
00:50:55When your book begins, the rest is still unwritten.
00:51:06Our dream, Antoni.
00:51:08Very nice.
00:51:11All right.
00:51:13Let's see what our judges have to say, Len.
00:51:15That was an excellent rumbo.
00:51:17I thought you had lovely feet and legs.
00:51:19Nice hip action going there.
00:51:22I can see a connection and a bit of chemistry going on.
00:51:25Occasionally, you look a little bit intimidated by it.
00:51:29You've got to just open up a little bit more.
00:51:31But I thought it was a very, very good job.
00:51:34Well done.
00:51:34All right.
00:51:35Bruno.
00:51:35Audrina, technically, you have improved.
00:51:41I can really see the attention to detail on your hip action, the foot placement, the figures.
00:51:47You really tried very hard, and it works.
00:51:50But I want it pulsating with passion.
00:51:54Rumba has to smolder.
00:51:57Don't be plastic.
00:51:58Be fantastic, because you can.
00:52:00All right.
00:52:01And Carrie-Anne.
00:52:03Okay.
00:52:03I want to tell you that truly, Audrina, I saw you go leaps and bounds into a whole new level.
00:52:08The strength in your lower half, the sensuality of the movement, the curvature of your foot,
00:52:12the extension in your toe, the pauses, everything was gorgeous from the hips down.
00:52:18From up above.
00:52:19It was...
00:52:20You are gorgeous.
00:52:21No mistake.
00:52:21But it was sort of still and dead compared to what was going on in the other.
00:52:26So you're still a little disjointed.
00:52:27And I think I saw a little bit of a lift.
00:52:29I made sure.
00:52:30Actually, I made sure she kept her feet on the floor.
00:52:32I looked down and I looked up and I was like, oh, is that a leg off the ground?
00:52:35No.
00:52:35All right.
00:52:36No.
00:52:36I'm so sorry.
00:52:38I saw a lift.
00:52:39All right.
00:52:40All right.
00:52:41All right.
00:52:42Head on over for your scores.
00:52:45Carrie-Anne, who sees lifts in her sleep.
00:52:47If you have yet to vote for the pro dancers you want to see in this season's Macy's Designed Dance,
00:52:53get to the polls at abc.com.
00:52:55Plus, submit your concept for the performance, including props, wardrobe, and description
00:52:58of the routine.
00:53:00Maybe you'll win a trip to Hollywood to see it come together in person.
00:53:03Brooke?
00:53:04Thanks, Tom.
00:53:05Audrina, were you able to draw from your experience on The Hills to help you get into character
00:53:09for the romantic rumba?
00:53:10I was a little bit.
00:53:11It was a little bit of playing, you know, hard to get.
00:53:14And, you know, we walk away from each other and then come back.
00:53:17And it was nice dancing to The Hills theme song.
00:53:20And The Onion?
00:53:21Help me out here, Tony.
00:53:22He wants the story with The Onion.
00:53:24Whenever you have to do something that's intimate and it feels awkward, you eat onions, so you
00:53:27focus on the fact that it's fun and it's exciting and funny, you know, so it kind of removes
00:53:31the awkwardness.
00:53:32I get it.
00:53:32Bad brush.
00:53:33Romance.
00:53:34Let's get your scores.
00:53:36Ladies and gentlemen, the judges' scores.
00:53:40Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:53:41Seven.
00:53:43Len Goodman.
00:53:44Eight.
00:53:44Bruno Tomioli.
00:53:46Eight.
00:53:47All right, that's 23 out of 30.
00:53:49Now, remember, even our high-scoring stars still need your support.
00:53:54If you want to help them escape tomorrow night's elimination, then you need to vote.
00:53:58Don't let anybody else do the work for you.
00:53:59You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:54:02Tom?
00:54:02Thanks, Rick.
00:54:03By the way, be on the lookout for Tony Davilani's new book, How to Use Serum of Ipecac for Foreplay.
00:54:10TV Theme Week continues with more interpretations of your favorite hits.
00:54:14Still to come, the woman who set the bar and the stars who have yet to reach it, plus the
00:54:20consistent crowd-pleaser who went for the romance last week, attempts of Foxtrot.
00:54:25Oh, boy.
00:54:26Kyle and Lacey perform their tribute to Charlie's Angels, even though he's dressed like Isaac,
00:54:31the bartender from Love Boat Live.
00:54:50Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:54:52Joining us in the ballroom tonight, Rob Morrow, star of the new legal drama, The Whole Truth,
00:54:58Wednesday nights at 10, 9 central.
00:55:00Welcome, Rob.
00:55:02Next up, to dance to a 70s hit, the audience favorite who suffered a minor setback last week.
00:55:08Can he move forward with tonight's retro routine?
00:55:11It's Disney star Kyle Massey and his partner, Lacey Schwimmer.
00:55:15Last week, Kyle had a youthful, entertaining rumba, but for the fourth week in a row, the
00:55:24judges faulted his technique.
00:55:27It had like a staccato feel.
00:55:29It was all a little bit too sharp for me.
00:55:31It didn't flow.
00:55:33Seven.
00:55:34I actually agree with the judges.
00:55:35There were some areas that, you know, lack technique.
00:55:38But this week, I'm looking forward to focusing in and getting it.
00:55:42It's TV theme week this week, right?
00:55:44Okay.
00:55:46So...
00:55:46Baywatch.
00:55:47You wish.
00:55:49We have Charlie's Angels.
00:55:52Charlie's Angels.
00:55:53Foxtrot.
00:55:54Starting this competition, Lacey and I were in second place and we dropped to third and
00:55:58now we're in fourth.
00:55:59So we can't keep going down the ladder.
00:56:01We're looking to climb back up that ladder to regain either second place or first place.
00:56:05Uh-uh, you'll lead.
00:56:08No.
00:56:10No.
00:56:11No.
00:56:12Seven and...
00:56:13Five.
00:56:14Kyle's totally bumming this week.
00:56:16His technique is still not where he really wants it to be.
00:56:19And I've been really hard on him.
00:56:20So I decided to do something special to help him out.
00:56:23Ladies.
00:56:27Hello, Kyle.
00:56:28Well, hello, Angel.
00:56:30Lacey brought in Kim and Chelsea to really help me with my technique, my posture, and
00:56:36my footwork.
00:56:37Really lead me.
00:56:38Don't just go through the motions, but go for it.
00:56:40Sometimes this gets a little straight.
00:56:41So make sure you keep that bent.
00:56:44Each one of them pointed out something different that they saw that could help me in my dance.
00:56:49That was good.
00:56:50That was really good.
00:56:51That was smooth.
00:56:52That's right.
00:56:53Kyle's Angels, baby.
00:56:54That was really smooth, Kyle.
00:56:55But now you just turn and leave me.
00:56:58Oh, no.
00:56:58Are you meant to, like, walk me back or something?
00:57:01Kim and Chelsea coming into rehearsals hopefully will kick my foxtrot up a notch so that I
00:57:06can become one of the leaders.
00:57:08Kyle's Angels.
00:57:16Dancing the foxtrot, Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Swimmer.
00:58:55You're so bossy.
00:59:01You're so bossy.
00:59:06All right.
00:59:08Everything stays together.
00:59:09I love it.
00:59:12Bruno, you start.
00:59:14Kyle.
00:59:14Kyle, my dad, look at me.
00:59:16One thing is for sure.
00:59:18One thing is for sure.
00:59:18You bring on the feel-good factor because just watching you is a joy.
00:59:23Nevertheless, this was a foxtrot possessed by disco fever.
00:59:28I mean, it just was like Richard Pryor kind of gone mad.
00:59:34It was like a joke, but it was funny, but you know, there wasn't enough foxtrot in it.
00:59:40I'm sorry.
00:59:41I'm sorry.
00:59:42I'm sorry.
00:59:43It's true.
00:59:44All right, Carrie-Anne.
00:59:45I disagree.
00:59:46Good.
00:59:47Good.
00:59:48I thought you made a very groovy, Charlie.
00:59:51I love the way you were leading with full body contact.
00:59:53I've never seen that.
00:59:54You were definitely focused on the technique and leading Lacey.
00:59:57I thought you did a great job.
00:59:58I like the disco.
01:00:00All right.
01:00:01I like the 70s.
01:00:02All right.
01:00:03I like the disco fever.
01:00:04I like the disco fever.
01:00:05Here we go.
01:00:06He's scaring me.
01:00:07He's scaring a lot of people.
01:00:09It started bad and it gradually got worse and worse.
01:00:12It was.
01:00:13It was horrendous.
01:00:15I'm sorry.
01:00:16You're, you're crazy.
01:00:18That was a joke.
01:00:20I couldn't stand it.
01:00:21I thought it was terrible.
01:00:22I'm sorry.
01:00:23It was terrible.
01:00:24It was terrible.
01:00:25I don't care.
01:00:27All right.
01:00:28Big.
01:00:29I thought, I thought you'd like the 70s.
01:00:31Wow.
01:00:32Oh, right.
01:00:33The 1870s.
01:00:34Okay.
01:00:35Head over there if you would.
01:00:37On this night of television music, let's have a hand for the best band on live TV.
01:00:42Our singers and our first class musical director, Harold Wheeler.
01:00:47Thanks, Tom.
01:00:48Woo!
01:00:49Sometimes I wonder if we're watching the same dance.
01:00:51Kyle, I heard that you didn't know who the Charlie's Angels were before the...
01:00:56Yeah, not the original ones.
01:00:58I thought it was like Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz.
01:01:01Let's get your scores.
01:01:03Will the judges please reveal their scores?
01:01:08Carianne Inaba.
01:01:09Eight.
01:01:10Len Goodman.
01:01:11Five.
01:01:12Bruno Tanyoli.
01:01:13Seven.
01:01:14That's a 20 out of a 30, a little all over the place, right?
01:01:17Yeah.
01:01:18I love that you're laughing about it, Lacey.
01:01:19Hilarious, are you kidding?
01:01:20All right, everyone.
01:01:21If you don't want to see them get knocked out tomorrow night, then you need to vote for
01:01:22them right now.
01:01:23They need your help and support.
01:01:24Call, text, and log on to abc.com if you want to see more of Kyle and Lacey.
01:01:38Tom.
01:01:39Don't try to look innocent now.
01:01:41Don't do...
01:01:42Don't.
01:01:43So far tonight, Brandi and Max are in the lead with 27.
01:01:45We'll see if our remaining stars can top that with their TV theme routine.
01:01:50Which mystery couple will monkey around?
01:01:53Oh, I'm guessing Glenn's gonna love that.
01:01:55We'll find out.
01:01:56And next up, Rick and Cheryl hope to capture big scores with their arresting performance
01:02:01live.
01:02:20Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars TV theme week.
01:02:24Next up, with a dance to the theme from a classic cop show, the athlete who last week
01:02:29Bruno compared to bigger-than-life movie stars.
01:02:32One, the dashing Clark Gable.
01:02:34The other, unfortunately, Megatron.
01:02:36NBA champion Rick Fox and his partner, Cheryl Burke.
01:02:45Last week, Rick looked the part in his Argentine tango, but the judges found it robotic.
01:02:51Did you think I look like Megatron?
01:02:54Sometimes.
01:02:59Last week, I was apparently a transformer.
01:03:01This week with the rumba, I'm gonna transform into a lover.
01:03:04Two, three, four.
01:03:06You should be on the other leg.
01:03:08Four.
01:03:09Do you know where we are?
01:03:10I get confused sometimes when we jump from point to point while I'm still trying to execute
01:03:15the last point.
01:03:16You're pushing me.
01:03:18Aren't I supposed to?
01:03:19No, you're holding me up.
01:03:21You're not supposed to push me until after my spiral.
01:03:23I understand with the challenge of the competition, there's a short amount of time for Cheryl to imprint
01:03:28into me a lot of information.
01:03:30Sometimes I don't get it as quickly, and it frustrates her.
01:03:33I've been coached by great coaches.
01:03:35I've also played with great players, so I'd love if you would like to meet two of them,
01:03:41and maybe they can maybe help you get a better understanding of me as a student.
01:03:46Hey, man, I've been watching, dude.
01:03:47You watching?
01:03:48I've been lighting your toes, dude.
01:03:49It's a breath of fresh air after Cloud to Glide.
01:03:50You know, as NBA players, we're looking too good for a second.
01:03:51I was a little concerned.
01:03:52Well, you know, you're good.
01:03:53I appreciate that.
01:03:54You know, Rick was a total workaholic.
01:03:55You know, you come in early, you stay late, but he was like a perfectionist about it,
01:04:08you know?
01:04:09Yes.
01:04:10It was very enlightening to hear that Rick is a perfectionist, so I need to trust Rick and know
01:04:15that at the end of the day, he will always deliver.
01:04:18What are you moving on to this week?
01:04:19We have the rumba.
01:04:20I can't believe I'm doing this on the basketball court.
01:04:22Come on now, girl.
01:04:24It's early stages here, Coach.
01:04:26And you only have four days to go, huh?
01:04:28You can't let Kurt Warner beat you.
01:04:30No.
01:04:31Uh-oh.
01:04:33Yeah, it's between you and Kurt.
01:04:35Visiting Phil and Colby reminded me of my championship days.
01:04:38It's game on.
01:04:39Dancing the Rumba, Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke.

01:06:23Very nice.
01:06:24Michael Warren from Hill Street Blues is over there.
01:06:27Very nice, guys.
01:06:28All right.
01:06:29Let's see what our judges have to say.
01:06:30Carrie-Ann, we'll start with you.
01:06:31Officer, officer, I'd like to report a crime.
01:06:32Oh, yeah.
01:06:33She's kidding me.
01:06:34She's kidding me.
01:06:35She's kidding me.
01:06:36It should be a crime that you can look that good and rumba so well.
01:06:38You turned it on tonight.
01:06:39You turned it on tonight.
01:06:40It just got hotter and hotter and by the end, and then you did the lift with her leg on
01:06:44the ground, that little strange thing.
01:06:45You dragged it.
01:06:46You worked it up perfect.
01:06:47Yes.
01:06:48Go, sweet blues.
01:06:49Come on, Len.
01:06:50You like that.
01:06:51Go ahead.
01:06:52I did like it because there's an ease and an elegance about your dancing.
01:06:56And for a great big guy, you've got quite musical arms, which I think is lovely, but I didn't
01:07:15really get the feeling of a sort of a developing moment.
01:07:18It was more like a couple staying together for the sake of the children.
01:07:22But it was a good show.
01:07:25What?
01:07:26What?
01:07:27No.
01:07:28Nothing.
01:07:29Bruto?
01:07:30The children are going to be gorgeous.
01:07:31Because I'm telling you, in a week, you went from Megatron to Mega Smooth, man.
01:07:38Mega Smooth.
01:07:39All right.
01:07:40All right.
01:07:41Rick and Cheryl will get their scores after the break, and then we'll see if Jennifer and
01:07:47Derek could hang on to number one.
01:07:49And it's Crystal and Mark who will be dancing to a monkey-themed jive.
01:07:54Five.
01:07:55Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
01:07:56Before the break, Officer Rick and Sergeant Cheryl dance their romantic rumba.
01:08:08Let's get their scores.
01:08:10The judges have their scores.
01:08:11Carianne Inabe.
01:08:12Eight.
01:08:13Len Goodman.
01:08:14Eight.
01:08:15That's 24 out of 30.
01:08:16Now, on behalf of all the ladies, we all love a man in uniform.
01:08:18But what do you think that Phil Jackson and Kobe are going to think of that performance?
01:08:20Ah, they may get requests from, uh, Vanessa and, uh, their wives at home.
01:08:21So, uh, you know, maybe they can implement it at home.
01:08:22All right.
01:08:23So, we're going to try to get their own romantic rumba.
01:08:24Let's get their scores.
01:08:25Let's get their scores.
01:08:26The judges have their scores.
01:08:27Carianne Inabe.
01:08:28Eight.
01:08:29Len Goodman.
01:08:30Eight.
01:08:31Bruno Tanyoli.
01:08:32Eight.
01:08:33That's 24 out of 30.
01:08:34Now, on behalf of all the ladies, we all love a man in uniform.
01:08:39But what do you think that Phil Jackson and Kobe are going to think of that performance?
01:08:42Ah, they may get requests from, uh, Vanessa and, uh, their wives at home.
01:08:47So, you know, maybe they can implement it at home.
01:08:49All right.
01:08:50You might have to be teaching them something.
01:08:51All right, everybody.
01:08:52If you want to see more of Rick and Cheryl, help them escape tomorrow night's elimination,
01:08:57you know what to do.
01:08:58Get to the phones.
01:08:59Get online.
01:09:00You can call, text, and log on to abc.com.
01:09:02Tom.
01:09:03All right, Brooke.
01:09:05Last week, Carianne called out our next star, challenging her to dance with more intensity.
01:09:10Let's see how intense she can get dancing to the theme from the monkeys.
01:09:15Teen activist Bristol Palin and her partner, Mark Ballas.
01:09:23Last week, Bristol's rumba had some smooth moves, but lacked emotion.
01:09:28I want to call you out and I want to see you dance with much more intensity.
01:09:33After being in the bottom two of the leaderboard, I'm just lucky I'm still around.
01:09:37Do you ever think you're going to make it halfway?
01:09:39No.
01:09:40No?
01:09:41I was just shooting to get past week one.
01:09:42No.
01:09:43I think, though, that there's been a drastic change from week one until week four.
01:09:46Oh, yeah.
01:09:47I never would have thought I would have gotten up there pretty much in my underwear and did
01:09:50this sexy dance with you.
01:09:52So, I think what they want to see is personality.
01:09:54This is a perfect dance to do that.
01:09:56Jive.
01:09:57Behind sidestep.
01:09:58Good.
01:09:59We are dancing to the TV theme song, The Monkees.
01:10:01Slapstick comedy, English kind of humor.
01:10:04I'm going to do whatever I can to get that out of Bristol.
01:10:06So, I decided to try something unconventional.
01:10:09So, everyone together the cowl, please.
01:10:13Mark decided to bring me some clown lessons because being a clown is all about performance.
01:10:17Let's try sad.
01:10:18Crystal sad means happy.
01:10:19Today, they had me doing different facial expressions, beat boxing, show that I can
01:10:33let go.
01:10:34When you smile, smile bigger.
01:10:36Okay.
01:10:37I've decided to do something a little over the top of the jive.
01:10:39I don't think anyone's ever done it and I don't think it will ever be repeated.
01:10:43If I got to look like a clown in this jive to show the judges that I'm having fun, that's
01:10:47just what I'm going to do.
01:10:53Dancing the jive, Bristol Palin and her partner, Mark Ballas.
01:10:58Here we come.
01:10:59Walking down the street.
01:11:00We get the funniest little song.
01:11:01They're the ones we need.
01:11:02Hey, hey, we're the monkeys.
01:11:03People say we're the monkey around.
01:11:04We're too busy singing to put anybody down.
01:11:05We'll go wherever we want to.
01:11:06That's what we like to do.
01:11:07We're too busy singing to put anybody down.
01:11:08We'll go wherever we want to.
01:11:09That's what we like to do.
01:11:11We're the only time to get restless.
01:11:12There's always something new.
01:11:16Hey, hey, we're the monkeys.
01:11:17People say we're the monkey around.
01:11:18We're too busy singing to put anybody down.
01:11:23We'll go wherever we want to.
01:11:24That's what we like to do.
01:11:25We're only time to get restless.
01:11:30There's always something new.
01:11:33Hey, hey, we're the monkeys.
01:11:36People say we're the monkey around.
01:11:39We're too busy singing
01:11:41To put anybody down
01:11:45We're just trying to get friendly
01:11:47Come watch us sing and play
01:11:50We're the young generation
01:11:53And we've got something to say
01:11:57Hey, hey, we're the monkey
01:11:59And people say we might be around
01:12:02We're too busy singing
01:12:05To put anybody down
01:12:08We're just trying to get friendly
01:12:10Come watch us sing and play
01:12:14We're the young generation
01:12:16And we've got something to say
01:12:20All right, a bold move
01:12:38Len, you softy, you sweetheart, you smooth talker, you start
01:12:42I like the monkey suits
01:12:45In fact, I don't like you to have kept them on a bit longer
01:12:47Because they were good fun
01:12:49That was a comp...
01:12:51They were good fun and I enjoyed them
01:12:54And when you came out afterwards
01:12:56You know, we've been telling you to come out and perform more
01:12:58And I think I saw a higher degree of performance from you
01:13:01And you said, well done
01:13:02There you go
01:13:03Oh my darling
01:13:05I love the gorillas in the twist
01:13:07That could have gone on forever
01:13:09Because what happens is
01:13:10You see, I think what happens is
01:13:11You really try to perform
01:13:13And it worked
01:13:14But the technique went down the swanny
01:13:16Lots of...
01:13:18You lost timing many times
01:13:19It wasn't sharp enough
01:13:21It just...
01:13:21I think you have to combine the two
01:13:23Now, if you stay in the competition
01:13:25You know how to project
01:13:26But don't lose the technique
01:13:28No need to yell
01:13:29Carrie Ann
01:13:30Bristol, I'm so happy for you
01:13:32Because this show is about making a transformation
01:13:35And trying something new
01:13:36And I saw a real transformation
01:13:38You sort of went for Bristol
01:13:39Who's like this great mover
01:13:41But can't really commit to performance
01:13:43And you were in a monkey suit
01:13:44You were doing this
01:13:45You were doing this
01:13:45All of that was there
01:13:46That made me very happy
01:13:48But it...
01:13:49It had a little...
01:13:50You forgot a lot of the moves it looked like
01:13:52So, you know
01:13:52But the big step forward
01:13:54Congratulations
01:13:54All right, guys
01:13:55Largely positive stuff
01:13:57Head on over there for your scores
01:13:58Tomorrow night's result show
01:13:59Is packed with performances
01:14:01From Shakira
01:14:02And Jason Derulo
01:14:03Plus
01:14:04David Hasselhoff returns
01:14:05And will reveal another star
01:14:07Who won't
01:14:07At 9, 8 Central
01:14:08After No Ordinary Family
01:14:10At 8, 7 Central
01:14:12Brooke
01:14:12Thanks, Tom
01:14:14Come on over here
01:14:17Bold move with the monkey suit
01:14:18Bristol, why did you decide
01:14:19To go with the monkey suit?
01:14:21I just wanted to have fun with the jive
01:14:23Wasn't very good at it
01:14:24So the monkey suit made it fun for me
01:14:26What were you thinking the first time
01:14:27You tried to do the jive?
01:14:29Um, I hate the jive
01:14:30Mark, if Bristol and you
01:14:34Make it through to next week
01:14:35What does Bristol need to work on
01:14:36To improve?
01:14:37Um, I just think
01:14:38Keep going on the train we're going on
01:14:39With the smiling
01:14:40And keeping it fun
01:14:41And having a good time
01:14:42While we're doing it
01:14:42We had a little hook up
01:14:43With our steps tonight
01:14:44It's never happened before
01:14:45But it's okay
01:14:45She did great
01:14:46I'm proud of her
01:14:46By the way
01:14:46I love the honesty
01:14:47And it is your birthday
01:14:48Happy birthday
01:14:49Let's get your judges scores
01:14:51Ladies and gentlemen

01:15:02Six
01:15:03All right, that's 18 out of 30
01:15:05Any regrets about the monkey suit?
01:15:07No, we had a blast in the monkey suit
01:15:09We just, you know
01:15:09We messed up some of the steps
01:15:10It happens, you know
01:15:11All right
01:15:12Well, good luck
01:15:13Don't assume that anyone is safe
01:15:15From tomorrow night's elimination
01:15:16You need to do your part
01:15:18And get to the phones
01:15:19Get online
01:15:19You can call, text
01:15:20And log on to ABC.com
01:15:22Help Mark and Bristol
01:15:23Survive tomorrow night's elimination
01:15:25Tom
01:15:25Just wondering
01:15:26Anybody who just tuned in
01:15:28And heard Mark say
01:15:28No, we had a blast in the monkey suit
01:15:30Last up tonight
01:15:31The darling of the leaderboard
01:15:33Who last week took the top spot again
01:15:35After plummeting to second place
01:15:37Jennifer and Derek
01:15:38Will dance to a sitcom hit
01:15:40After a week
01:15:41It was anything
01:15:42But picture perfect
01:15:43Back
01:15:44Back
01:15:45No
01:15:45We're at the halfway point
01:15:48And the pressure to stay on top
01:15:49Is getting bigger and bigger
01:15:51Control your temper
01:15:52My temper?
01:15:53So I have to bottle everything in?
01:15:55No
01:15:55Should I?
01:15:56Listen, you know what the deal is
01:15:56No, do you want me to
01:15:57Is that what you want me to do?
01:15:58You know what?
01:15:58To explode at once?
01:16:00I can't work like this
01:16:01Tony Davilani toothpaste
01:16:22Now with a gentle hint of onion
01:16:24Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
01:16:27Last on the floor with a foxtrot
01:16:28Coming up to a sitcom theme
01:16:30The woman who has romanced
01:16:31The top of the leaderboard
01:16:32Since week one
01:16:33Movie star Jennifer Grey
01:16:35And her partner Derek Huck
01:16:37Last Monday
01:16:42Jennifer's Argentine tango
01:16:44Was a cut above the rest
01:16:46That was amazing
01:16:49That was amazing
01:16:50Landing her the first tens of the season
01:16:53That's 29 which gives you a total of 56 out of 60
01:16:57With the foxtrot
01:16:59You know, we're not going to get complacent
01:17:00But it's definitely going to be a little bit more
01:17:02Kind of like chilled out
01:17:03Thank you
01:17:04My body thanks you
01:17:05This week with the foxtrot
01:17:07My body's getting a slight respite
01:17:09From the onslaught of the past few weeks
01:17:11And dances
01:17:12But I also have had so many weeks away from ballroom
01:17:15That I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing
01:17:18Yeah, stay with me
01:17:19Stay with me
01:17:19What if foxtrot isn't my dance?
01:17:21What if I can't get it?
01:17:22What if it's the one I can't get?
01:17:23That's what you always think about every dance
01:17:24Quick
01:17:25Nope
01:17:26The hook, remember?
01:17:28You know why I'm having to make trouble?
01:17:29I need a little sugar
01:17:30Okay
01:17:30Stay low
01:17:31Stay like this
01:17:32You're like this
01:17:33Okay
01:17:34I'm doing what?
01:17:35I'm frustrating you, aren't I?
01:17:36Nope
01:17:36Don't talk
01:17:37We're at the halfway point
01:17:38And the pressure to stay on top
01:17:39Is getting bigger and bigger
01:17:41So that can cause some tension in the room
01:17:43And slow
01:17:45Quick
01:17:46Quick
01:17:47Back
01:17:47Back
