00:03:37one for performance and one for technique this is bound to shake up our stars leaderboard
00:03:42placements our dancers analyzed the challenges they had to overcome in training and those our
00:03:47stars will face tonight in this ultimate test of their abilities
00:03:52i've been in the show for 10 seasons and i'm used to choreographing for a rectangular stage but now the script has been flipped and uh... we choreographing for a round smaller more intimate floor
00:04:05it's
00:04:07it's raised 30 inches off the floor and it's quite exciting
00:04:12the audience the audience is going to be closer than ever before they can feel your sweat
00:04:19the fact that the stage is raised is going to make it that much more difficult for us because our footwork will be right there on the display so we're going to have to be pretty perfect
00:04:27not only is the stage completely different and out of everyone's comfort zone
00:04:34the style of music this week is stripped down there's not as much going on
00:04:37we normally dance to accents and we normally lift accents in the music but since it's only acoustic it's going to really be challenging
00:04:44learning to dance to any song is enough of an obstacle for a celebrity but learning to dance to an acoustic song everything changes they really need to listen to the music and tap into their musicality
00:04:56this is not new just for the celebrities this is something we as pro dancers have never done before
00:05:03this week one mistake will be magnified ten times
00:05:05tonight we might be unplugged but we still have to be electric
00:05:08it's going to have to be really emotional organic and real
00:05:11this could pretty much be a disaster and go up in flames
00:05:18all right
00:05:20tonight our stars will take on some of the most passionate of dances the Argentine tango and the romantic rumba
00:05:26to show you how the rumba is executed on a circular stage like this here are our pros
00:05:32I've made up my mind don't need to think it over if I'm wrong I am right
00:05:48don't need to let no further this ain't last I know this is love
00:06:00but should I give up or should I just keep chasing payments even if it leads away
00:06:12oh would it be a waste even if I knew my place should I leave it there should I give up or should I just keep on chasing
00:06:28payments
00:06:30payments
00:06:32should I just keep on chasing
00:06:34payments
00:06:36oh
00:06:38should I give up or should I just keep chasing payments
00:06:42even if it leads
00:06:44even if it leads
00:06:46or would it be a waste even if I know my place should I leave it there should I give up or should I just keep chasing payments even if it leads nowhere
00:07:00or should I just keep chasing payments even if it leads nowhere
00:07:10oh
00:07:12oh
00:07:14oh
00:07:16oh
00:07:18oh
00:07:20oh
00:07:22oh
00:07:24oh
00:07:26oh
00:07:52Charmed. It works wonders in a storyline like this. I loved it. Two, three.
00:07:58I think with being double score showdown this week that this is really where people are going to separate themselves from the pack
00:08:03because they have to both perform and be technically sound in their dance.
00:08:07Whoa. Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:08:11There's a lot of movement going on there.
00:08:13I thought the rumble was going to be easier because it's a slower dance, but the technique is so difficult, especially when it comes to the hips.
00:08:19I don't have that much hip action.
00:08:20No, you don't.
00:08:22On the other side, the performance part of it, I think Kurt might be a little bit uncomfortable doing the sensual rumble with me because he's married, I'm married.
00:08:31How are we going to make it happen?
00:08:33What am I doing with my hands?
00:08:34You got to put them on my hips. No, actually, put them on my hips like this.
00:08:39Being a Christian guy, it's definitely a challenge for me to dance intimately with someone that's not my wife.
00:08:46Got to be a little bit, you know, softer and like you actually mean it.
00:08:49Okay.
00:08:49One of the most difficult things is knowing that I'm in here dancing with Ana and always wondering what my wife thinks of the whole process.
00:08:59So, my wife, Brenda, and Jonathan, Ana's husband, came to the studio today to kind of check out our rumble.
00:09:05Rumble is a dance of love. The whole dance is like that conversation back and forth.
00:09:10Do I want you? Do I want you? How much do I want you?
00:09:12It's exactly our dating life. Do you remember those days?
00:09:15There we go.
00:09:15Do you remember when you thought the grass would be greener and then you wanted me back and then you didn't?
00:09:20So, I think you got it in you if you remember back.
00:09:23I don't know what you're talking about.
00:09:24So long ago.
00:09:27So, you're okay with me and Ana going out there and doing this dance of love?
00:09:30I am. It's a dance. You're playing a role. You're out here to have fun.
00:09:34Enjoy it. Do the whole rumble the way it's meant to be done.
00:09:37Do it.
00:09:38Okay.
00:09:38Now that I've got the seal of approval for my wife, I think I can really get into character now and go out and give a great performance.
00:09:46Wow. That's the passion. That's the love we're talking about. Sell it.
00:09:54We'll see what happens when Kurt and Ana perform their rumba in the round when we come back.
00:10:00And then the rest of our stars will try to contain themselves to our circular stage as they cope with their passionate routines.
00:10:07Like, you have to act like you like me.
00:10:11This is for you, Brandi.
00:10:13I'm nervous about this one because it's sexy and stuff.
00:10:17I don't know how I'm going to do it.
00:10:19Rumba and Bristol have absolutely zero in common.
00:10:23I want you guys to tell us, you know, if you think it's appropriate.
00:10:28Sure.
00:10:28Shake your booty, baby.
00:10:32Wow.
00:10:37Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:10:49Our first ever acoustic week.
00:10:52Kurt and Ana are ready to perform our first unplugged competitive routine.
00:10:56And here they are.
00:10:58Dancing the rumba.
00:11:00Kurt Warner and his partner, Ana Tribunskai.
00:11:03Now that she's back in the atmosphere with drops of a Jupiter in her head.
00:11:20Since the return of a stay on the moon, she listens like spring and she talks like June.
00:11:26Tell me, did you sail across the sun?
00:11:35Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights are faded and that heaven is overrated?
00:11:42Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
00:11:46One without a permanent scar?
00:11:48And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?
00:12:04Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
00:12:07And did you finally get a chance to dance along the light of day?
00:12:11Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
00:12:17Fall from a shooting star.
00:12:20Fall from a shooting star.
00:12:24Oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:12:28And are you lonely looking for yourself out there?
00:12:40Third, Nana.
00:12:41Happy anniversary.
00:12:43Thank you for being here.
00:12:45Okay.
00:12:45Okay.
00:12:48We have a mosh pit.
00:12:53Before we find out what the judges have to say about this particular dance, let's talk
00:12:57about the scoring this week, Len.
00:12:59What's different?
00:13:00Well, this is a very exciting evening for us judges because we're going to give a mark
00:13:04for the technique and we're also going to give a mark for the performance.
00:13:08So we're going to sort out the dancers from the chancers, I think.
00:13:11All right.
00:13:11Double the paddle sign.
00:13:11Talking about the technique, I've got to say, Kurt, laterally, you've got a very nice
00:13:16hip action going there.
00:13:17When you step forward, unfortunately, you tend to go a little bit pigeon-toed.
00:13:24The pivots, I didn't like your posture, you tended to go over the top a little bit.
00:13:29As for the performance, I thought you pitched the romantic side of it just right.
00:13:34It wasn't over the top.
00:13:35It was just how I'd hoped to remember the ball.
00:13:38All right.
00:13:38There you go.
00:13:39Bruno.
00:13:41Kurt, the boss is right, of course.
00:13:44To add to that, there is still one thing about these hands.
00:13:48Movement has to travel from your arm through the forearm.
00:13:53Now, you look like you're catching a football.
00:13:56He's like, do you know what I mean?
00:13:57And sometimes when you drop it, you look like you've got to smack her.
00:14:00I mean, you really, movement has to flow, has to go through.
00:14:05It's continuous.
00:14:06It's not like eating a punch.
00:14:08And at any stage, you pitched it, you pitched the performance to a level of more like brothers
00:14:13and sisters than a raunchy kind of, you know, encounter in the night.
00:14:17But again, that was better than the technique.
00:14:21How are you doing, Len?
00:14:22I'm fine.
00:14:23I'd like, actually, if we could, to get Carrie-Anne to sit here.
00:14:26Yeah, I thought you might.
00:14:27Yeah, I thought you might.
00:14:27Carrie-Anne, what do you think?
00:14:28I really love the performance.
00:14:33There is a true chemistry between you guys.
00:14:35Chemistry isn't always about raunch, Bruno.
00:14:38Sometimes it has to do with trust and sort of an intimacy.
00:14:41And I definitely felt that you have the, you weren't just only dancing with Anna, though.
00:14:44You were dancing with all of us.
00:14:45I felt that it was a good balance between performance with the audience and your partner.
00:14:49However, Bruno is right.
00:14:51Our movement does not just start from the elbows.
00:14:53It starts from inside and moves out.
00:14:55Sometimes I thought you were paying an elephant.
00:14:56Thank you, Carrie-Anne, no more, Bob.
00:14:58All right.
00:14:58But the technique was a little bad.
00:15:00Your musicality was just a hair off this week.
00:15:02Not as good as that other time.
00:15:03All right, okay.
00:15:04But performance was great.
00:15:05I liked it.
00:15:05I enjoyed it.
00:15:05All right, guys.
00:15:06Head on over there for your scores, if you would.
00:15:10This week, you get nine votes per phone line and per email address at abc.com.
00:15:15AT&T customers can text their votes.
00:15:17Message and data rates may apply.
00:15:19Lines remain open, as always, until a half hour after the show.
00:15:23Brooke?
00:15:23Thanks, Tom.
00:15:24Way to kick off the show, both of you.
00:15:26What was it like to come out here and perform for the first time on our new circular stage?
00:15:30You know, it was fun.
00:15:31You know, it was a different atmosphere.
00:15:33The people are right there in front of you.
00:15:34You felt like they were a part of the performance.
00:15:36So it was really great tonight.
00:15:38All right.
00:15:39Let's get your technical scores right now.
00:15:40Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
00:15:44Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:15:46Five.
00:15:47Len Goodman.
00:15:49Five.
00:15:50Bruno Tomioli.
00:15:52Five.
00:15:53All right.
00:15:53That's 15.
00:15:54Now, the judges were talking about your hands.
00:15:56So let's take a look at this clip and see what both of you think.
00:16:00So talk us through this, Ana.
00:16:01What's happening here?
00:16:03I think he's reaching towards Bruno right now and trying to reach out into his cold,
00:16:10cold heart.
00:16:11Kurt, do you think they were fair?
00:16:13I have no idea.
00:16:14I'm working on the hands.
00:16:16You know, I thought the rest of it was really good, but I'm working on the hands every week.
00:16:19We'll get better.
00:16:20All right.
00:16:20Well, Carrie-Anne liked your performance, so hopefully we can make up a little bit here.
00:16:24Let's get your performance scores right now.
00:16:27Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
00:16:30Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:16:32Seven.
00:16:33Len Goodman.
00:16:34Six.
00:16:35Bruno Tomioli.
00:16:37Six.
00:16:37That's 19, which gives you a total of 34 out of 60.
00:16:41How does that feel?
00:16:42Not real good.
00:16:43You know, I thought it was better than that, but we'll go back to work.
00:16:46All right.
00:16:46Well, I know it's a very special day for you today.
00:16:48Is there something you want to say to your wife?
00:16:49There is.
00:16:50Today's my 13th wedding anniversary, so I just want to say happy anniversary to my wife.
00:16:55I love you.
00:16:55All right, everybody.
00:16:56They need your support right now.
00:16:57You can call, text, and log on to ABC.com if you want to see more of them next week.
00:17:01Tom.
00:17:02All right, Brooke.
00:17:03Thanks.
00:17:03Coming up, we'll see how our stars cope with an Argentine tango on this intimate stage.
00:17:08But first, there's another rumba ready to roll from the couple who tied for second place
00:17:13last week.
00:17:14Brandi and Max take their shot at it next live.
00:17:17Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars Acoustic Week.
00:17:37Up next to rumba, the couple who last week danced their way to second place, R&B singer Brandi
00:17:42and her partner, Maxim Schmerkowski.
00:17:49Last week, Brandi's samba showed improvement and was packed with punch.
00:17:55Way to go, girl.
00:17:57Keep fighting.
00:17:58Come back even a bigger diva than you are.
00:18:00So, without rumba, it has to be hot and it has to be emotional.
00:18:05This is not very sexy.
00:18:07What are you doing right now?
00:18:08Show me what to do with my arms.
00:18:10Walk.
00:18:11Quick, quick, slow.
00:18:14Baby, hold on, stop.
00:18:15Now you're overthinking it.
00:18:17Walk.
00:18:19That was not sexy.
00:18:22You just went.
00:18:23I don't feel sexy unless I'm in love.
00:18:32Oops.
00:18:33So, since I haven't been with anybody in six years, I don't feel so sexy.
00:18:38This has so much passion in it.
00:18:41Yeah?
00:18:42Mm-hmm.
00:18:42You have none.
00:18:45Okay.
00:18:49That's very mechanical.
00:18:50It has to have feeling, it has to have emotion, and I think we're kind of becoming a little
00:18:53bit robotic, so let's get out of here.
00:19:00You need to get into the mood of the rumba.
00:19:03We're here because Max felt that it would be a good idea to practice being romantic.
00:19:08So, we've got the flowers, we've got the chocolate, we've got the candles.
00:19:14You did all of this?
00:19:15We've got the wine.
00:19:16Cheers.
00:19:16Nice.
00:19:17Cheers.
00:19:17This is really sweet, but I have to say something really quickly.
00:19:20That's not how you introduce flowers to a girl.
00:19:24Like, you have to act like you like me.
00:19:27Like, you're the flowers, the candy, the wine.
00:19:30It's like, I still feel like I'm at the dance studio.
00:19:34These are for you, Brandi.
00:19:37Thank you, Max.
00:19:38You're welcome.
00:19:39I think this is a great idea to get me out of the dance studio and into an environment
00:19:43where I can feel a little bit, you know, pretty and sexy.
00:19:47So, I think I will be able to channel it.
00:19:49You should take me out to eat every time we leave the dance studio.
00:19:53I like you in this setting.
00:19:54It's great.
00:19:58Dancing the rumba, Brandi and her partner, Maxine Chmierkovsky.
00:20:02This woman's world, this woman's world, this woman's world, ooh, it's hard on the man, now his party's over.
00:20:31Now starts the craft of the Father.
00:20:41I know you've got a little life in you, yeah.
00:20:48I know you've got a lot of strength left.
00:20:53I know you've got a little life in you, yeah.
00:20:57I know you've got a lot of strength left.
00:21:01I should be crying, but I just can't make sure.
00:21:06I should be hoping, but I just can't make sure.
00:21:10All the things we should have said that I never said.
00:21:15All the things we should have done that we never did.
00:21:20All the things we should have given, but I didn't.
00:21:24Oh, girl, it's going to make sure.
00:21:29I really did very, very well.
00:21:59Now, technically, there's a couple of points.
00:22:02Be careful.
00:22:02Sometimes your hands, from beautifully extended, went a bit erratic, and it spoils it.
00:22:08And you have to, if you place your legs a little bit more, with more confidence, the hip action will ignite more.
00:22:15So that is the work to do in the future.
00:22:17But the performance was really well done.
00:22:19Brandi, there you are.
00:22:27I've been waiting for the real Brandi to show herself.
00:22:30And finally, in the rumble, it's like your comeback night.
00:22:34I mean, the performance was fully committed.
00:22:37Everything was passion.
00:22:38I was like just lost in your eyes, the way you guys were dancing together.
00:22:41Yes, I agree with Bruno.
00:22:42A little bit in your legs, a little more strength, a little bigger in your movements.
00:22:46But wow, huge difference.
00:22:49All right.
00:22:49Very nice.
00:22:49I would have liked you to have settled a little bit more into your standing leg.
00:22:58I particularly liked that you put a fan and a hook in, a very basic step, which you did very well.
00:23:04The performance was very good.
00:23:06It was a little bit hot and spicy for my taste.
00:23:08But I still appreciated it.
00:23:11Well done.
00:23:11Thank you so much.
00:23:12Okay.
00:23:14I love this.
00:23:16I love it.
00:23:16You're just magic.
00:23:18But I don't have a paddle.
00:23:20Randy and Max will get their scores after the break.
00:23:22And then the competition continues with the NBA star who busted out a semi-samba last week.
00:23:30This is what I live with.
00:23:31Rick and Cheryl will dance at our challenging arena stage.
00:23:35The Argentine Tango is back.
00:23:36Lifts are allowed.
00:23:38So this week, everyone's being pushed to the limit.
00:23:42Each dance brings with it its own set of pain.
00:23:45And this week, it feels like it's back with the lifts.
00:23:52I'm concerned that with our lifts, that I might toss Cheryl into the front row.
00:23:57And once one foot is off that ledge, we're done.
00:24:00The first lift is extremely dangerous.
00:24:04Oh man.
00:24:05Hold on.
00:24:06But Sitch will do anything not to drop me.
00:24:09Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars Unplugged.
00:24:28Before the break, Brandy and Max Rumbud.
00:24:30Now this week, you guys decided to mix it up a little bit and do something romantic.
00:24:34What was it like to give Max some direction for a change?
00:24:38It felt great, actually.
00:24:39Because I never really get a chance to.
00:24:41So, how'd you like it?
00:24:43I love that.
00:24:44Took points.
00:24:45I'm doing my homework still.
00:24:46All right.
00:24:47Let's get your first set of scores.
00:24:49Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
00:24:52Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:24:54Seven.
00:24:55Len Goodman.
00:24:56Eight.
00:24:57Bruno Tanyoli.
00:25:00Seven.
00:25:01All right.
00:25:02That's a total of 22.
00:25:03Now this week, everything is being dissected.
00:25:06Everything matters.
00:25:07Let's take a look at this clip.
00:25:10Carrie-Anne was talking about your commitment and your passion.
00:25:13What was going through your mind right here, Brandy?
00:25:15Just be cool and relax.
00:25:18Meanwhile, I can't feel my fingers because she's grabbing to them.
00:25:21Were you feeling the romance?
00:25:23It was very...
00:25:24I thought it was hot.
00:25:25All right.
00:25:25Let's get your scores for performance.
00:25:28Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
00:25:31Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:25:33Nine.
00:25:34Len Goodman.
00:25:36Eight.
00:25:37Bruno Tanyoli.
00:25:38Nine.
00:25:39All right.
00:25:39That's a total of 26, which gives you 48 out of 60.
00:25:43Now, they have been amongst our highest scores in the past, but no one can do it alone, and
00:25:48they cannot rely on judges' scores alone, so they want your support tonight.
00:25:51Call, text, get online, do whatever you need to do if you want to see more of Brandy and
00:25:56Max, please.
00:25:57You could actually charge for this show in slow-mo, couldn't you?
00:26:01Now that we've seen some rumbas, let's see how the perfect Argentine tango fills our cozy
00:26:06yet daunting stage.
00:26:07Now, keep in mind, in this dance, lifts are allowed.
00:26:09So, please welcome our prayers.
00:26:12I walk along the streets of sorrow, the boulevard of broken dreams, where gigolo and gigalette can
00:26:36take a kiss without regret, so they forget their broken dreams.
00:26:42You laugh tonight and cry tomorrow, when you behold your shattered schemes.
00:26:51Gigolo and gigalette wake up to find their eyes are wet, with tears that tell in broken dreams.
00:26:58Here is where you'll always find me, always walking up and down, for I left my soul behind
00:27:11me, in an old cathedral town.
00:27:17The joy that you find here you'll borrow.
00:27:21You cannot keep it long, it seems, but gigolo and gigalette still sing a song and dance along
00:27:32the boulevard of broken dreams.
00:27:38Lorde of broken dreams.
00:27:56Anna Dividova and Andrew Bekhanov.
00:28:00With our first Argentine tango of tonight's competition, the man who tied for the second spot of the
00:28:05leaderboard last week after lifting his shirt and showing us his situation.
00:28:09NBA champion Rick Fox and his partner, Cheryl Burke.
00:28:17Last Monday, Rick turned up the heat in his spicy samba.
00:28:22It was hot, it was sexy, it was good.
00:28:26Next week, Cheryl Burke taking one for the team.
00:28:29Her shirt's coming off.
00:28:29The Argentine tango is, I have to say, my favorite dance.
00:28:36Over the summer, I went to Argentina, and I learned from the beginning how to dance the
00:28:41Argentine tango.
00:28:42I learned so much when I was there, and I hope I can bring it to this dance.
00:28:46Men in Argentine tango are very controlling and possessive, and you know, you just need
00:28:52to be dominant.
00:28:53No, don't do that.
00:28:54No, that's not...
00:28:55You don't turn an animal all of a sudden.
00:28:56You're still...
00:28:57This week, we get two scores, one for performance and one for technique, so I want to make sure
00:29:02I'm solid in both.
00:29:03Own it with your face.
00:29:05The steps are simple.
00:29:07They're Argentine tango steps, but what sells it is the emotion of the dance.
00:29:11Right.
00:29:13That's right.
00:29:14That's right.
00:29:15You feel it.
00:29:15Go ahead and lift me.
00:29:16Okay.
00:29:17I just lay flat.
00:29:19In the Argentine tango, we get to do lifts.
00:29:22Finally, my height is an advantage.
00:29:24What are you doing?
00:29:25Whoa, where are you going?
00:29:26Push my leg up.
00:29:27Oh, what do you mean push your leg up?
00:29:29I would drop you, Cheryl.
00:29:31We have a smaller stage, so I'm concerned that with our lifts, that I might toss Cheryl
00:29:35into the front row.
00:29:37So cool.
00:29:38This is a stage.
00:29:39I didn't picture an elevated stage.
00:29:41I've landed in the front row of seats before courtside.
00:29:44They've never been elevated like this, so that makes me concerned about our jumps, because
00:29:48a lot of them end at the end of the stage.
00:29:51And once one foot is off that ledge, we're done.
00:29:54Cheryl and I have some really dynamic lifts in our routine, so I have to make sure I don't
00:29:58drop her, because from this stage, she could really get hurt.
00:30:01All right, Rick and Cheryl's Argentine tango is next, and it's live.
00:30:11Welcome back.
00:30:28Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars, the acoustic edition with the Double Score Showdown.
00:30:35Tonight, the flaws will be exposed as our stars take the heat from all sides on our circular
00:30:43stage.
00:30:44Now, before the break, we saw Rick and Cheryl training for their routine.
00:30:48Here it is.
00:30:50Dancing the Argentine tango, Rick Fox and his partner Cheryl Burke.
00:32:50And you didn't drop her.
00:32:51Almost.
00:32:52Did you really?
00:32:53I didn't see that.
00:32:55Well, let's see if the judges did.
00:32:57Carrie-Ann, we'll start with you.
00:32:59Hello.
00:33:00Yes.
00:33:01Well, sorry.
00:33:02There's a lot going on here.
00:33:03We've got the football cameras going around.
00:33:05We've got the technical scores.
00:33:06I honestly, okay, you came out here looking like the cover of a romance novel, right?
00:33:11And I was like, ooh, sexy, hot.
00:33:13But for some reason, it just felt one dimensional.
00:33:15I know.
00:33:16Sorry.
00:33:17There was motion in your legs, but it wasn't connected all the way through your body.
00:33:22I didn't feel like the passion was steaming out of you to create the movements.
00:33:26I felt that you were still very much concentrating on the movements.
00:33:29And then sometimes I felt that the stage size was difficult for you, a little bit.
00:33:34You got very close to the edge.
00:33:35You stayed on it, but I felt like you were very aware of it and not fully committed in the dance.
00:33:38Sorry.
00:33:39Let's go to somebody who's used to steaming on occasion.
00:33:41Okay, sorry.
00:33:42Never.
00:33:43Not me.
00:33:44I thought your lifts were excellent, and they really suited the dance.
00:33:48Well done.
00:33:50Your legs could have been slightly crisper and sharper, but you started that dance full of intent, full of drama.
00:33:58I thought we were going to chuck the chair at someone.
00:34:01It gradually lost that energy as it went through.
00:34:05Whether it was the floor, I don't know.
00:34:07But I thought it was all around a very good performance.
00:34:10All right.
00:34:12Hello, Rick.
00:34:13Yeah, I like them.
00:34:14You came out here like, it was a bit like Clark Gable.
00:34:17Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn, and I'm going to get it.
00:34:20And that was the right way of focusing the performance.
00:34:24But sometimes it kind of didn't help all the way through.
00:34:28And you attempted a very difficult move.
00:34:30You attempted the ganchos.
00:34:31But some of the passes were a little bit like Megatron.
00:34:34You know, it's like it didn't kind of flow.
00:34:36It wasn't as musical as it could have been.
00:34:39Like it wasn't as good as his Gable impression.
00:34:41Right.
00:34:42More of a good impression.
00:34:43Right.
00:34:44Head on over there for you.
00:34:46Yes, of course.
00:34:48Tomorrow night, our acoustic league event continues on our results show with special guests,
00:34:53Huggy Doll and Florence and the Machine.
00:34:56Plus, in our Macy's Stars of Dance, direct from Argentina, a magnificent performance from
00:35:01Forever Tango.
00:35:02And, of course, another star will be eliminated.
00:35:04That's tomorrow at 9, 8 Central.
00:35:06Brooke.
00:35:07Thanks, Tom.
00:35:08Rick, Len said your lifts were excellent, which can be very difficult for a male celebrity.
00:35:12Do you feel like your height was an advantage this week?
00:35:14It did.
00:35:15I thought it helped getting Cheryl up there.
00:35:17And, unfortunately, for her ribs this week, they took a beating.
00:35:20So, I hope she's okay.
00:35:21All right.
00:35:22Let's get your technical scores.
00:35:23Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
00:35:26Carianne Inabe.
00:35:28Six.
00:35:30Len Goodman.
00:35:31Seven.
00:35:32Bruno Tognoli.
00:35:33Six.
00:35:34Seven.
00:35:35All right.
00:35:36That's 20, which gives you a total of 39 out of 60.
00:35:37How does that feel?
00:35:38Uh, two lucky numbers for me.
00:35:39Three and nine.
00:35:40Yes.
00:35:41All right, everyone.
00:35:42Well, if you want to see them escape tomorrow night's elimination, then we'll see them.
00:35:43All right.
00:35:44All right.
00:35:45That's 19.
00:35:46All right.
00:35:47That's 19.
00:35:48All right.
00:35:49That's 19.
00:35:50Now, you've always been a crowd-plaser.
00:35:51I just gave you for a performance.
00:35:52Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
00:35:53All right.
00:35:54That's 20, which gives you a total of 39 out of 60.
00:35:56How does that feel?
00:35:57Uh, two lucky numbers for me.
00:35:58Three and nine.
00:35:59Yes.
00:36:00All right, everyone.
00:36:01Well, if you want to see them escape tomorrow night's elimination, then you know what to
00:36:04do.
00:36:05They're counting on you tonight.
00:36:06They want you to call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:36:09No one is safe on scores alone.
00:36:11Tom?
00:36:12That's the sound of one hand clapping, apparently, in the booth here.
00:36:16All right.
00:36:17Our unwired double score showdown continues with the rest of our stars from last week's
00:36:23highest-scoring woman to the highly entertaining situation.
00:36:26And up next, the young man who found love in a coffee shop in his story dance.
00:36:31Can Kyle continue to romance Lacey in his rumba?
00:36:34Find out live.
00:36:46To get with my www. бли mutationch asset to free.
00:36:53Thank you to the star, the Roman Coliseum version.
00:36:56Next up, the young star who was scolded last Monday for what Len called absolutely atrocious
00:37:01footwork, Disney star Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Schwimmer.
00:37:08Very nice.
00:37:11Last week, Kyle's waltz was charming, but his lack of technique riled the judges.
00:37:19It's absolutely atrocious. Your footwork is non-existent.
00:37:26Lynn, my footwork wasn't that bad. I mean, look at my socks.
00:37:29Your leg is really heavy.
00:37:31It's because it's all muscle, baby. It's all muscle.
00:37:35What do you think probably is the most important thing about footwork?
00:37:38Point them, turn them out, don't turn them in.
00:37:39You know, we are being judged separately now, so it's technique and performance.
00:37:44This week, we're dancing the rumba, and it's the double-score showdown.
00:37:47So I know I can perform, but if I want to stay in this competition, I've got to point those toes and let it roll.
00:37:52I got the sexy. So now it's your turn to work on the footwork and the hips and stuff.
00:37:58Three, side. Grab my legs. Three, four.
00:38:03Ow!
00:38:04Kyle needs to be sexy in the rumba and manly, but the kid's a boy.
00:38:12Like, he's a young kid. He just turned 19. I don't know if he knows what sexy is yet.
00:38:20Stop.
00:38:21Put the foot that way.
00:38:23Turn it out.
00:38:23That is the body angle you need to hit.
00:38:25This is so uncomfortable.
00:38:26I don't care.
00:38:28You have to get to that position no matter what. Go. Do it.
00:38:31It goes.
00:38:32Use your toes.
00:38:33My biggest challenge with Kyle is that because of the new stage, because of the music being stripped down,
00:38:39every step has to be perfect.
00:38:42You can't hide it.
00:38:43Two.
00:38:43And point that foot every step on two.
00:38:45Point.
00:38:46Two.
00:38:47Three.
00:38:47And four.
00:38:48Ah, that stupid back step is going to kill me.
00:38:51Two.
00:38:51Three.
00:38:51And four.
00:38:52And four.
00:38:54What is your ass doing?
00:38:55Two.
00:38:56Three.
00:38:56Four.
00:38:57Do it ten more times.
00:38:58Go.
00:38:58You know, each week the judges keep saying that they want to see better technique.
00:39:02So this week, they're getting what they asked for.
00:39:05Dancing the Rumba, Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Swimmer.
00:39:14Beautiful girls all over the world.
00:39:24I could keep chasing, but time would be wasted.
00:39:29They got nothing on you, baby.
00:39:32Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing on you, baby.
00:39:38Nothing, nothing on you.
00:39:39I know you can feel where I'm coming from.
00:39:41Regardless of the things in the past that I've done.
00:39:44Focus in it really for the hell of the fun.
00:39:46Herald a carousel so around I spun.
00:39:48With no direction, just trying to get some.
00:39:51Trying to chase skirts, living in the summer sun.
00:39:53That's how I lost more than I had ever won.
00:39:55And honestly, I ended up with none.
00:39:58So much nonsense is on my conscience.
00:40:00Nothing you may, I should let it go.
00:40:02Because I don't want to wonder, but I was wondering if there was something that you want to know.
00:40:06Something that you want to know.
00:40:08Let it go.
00:40:09Let it go.
00:40:09If you don't want to be a TV episode, all the bad thoughts, just let them go.
00:40:13Let it go.
00:40:14Go.
00:40:15Go.
00:40:16Don't forget the violence all over the world.
00:40:19All over the world.
00:40:20I could be chasing, but time would be wasted.
00:40:24But they got nothing on you, baby.
00:40:28Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:31Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:33Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:35I might say, hi.
00:40:36I might say, hey.
00:40:38But you shouldn't worry about what they say.
00:40:42Because they got nothing on you, baby.
00:40:45Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:47Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:48Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:49Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:50Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:51Nothing on you, baby.
00:40:52Nothing on you.
00:40:53Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
00:40:56Garland Lacey!
00:41:08Come on over here.
00:41:11All right, let's go to our judges.
00:41:13Len, we'll start with you.
00:41:14Well, I think your footwork was much better.
00:41:17You was on the ball of the foot all the time,
00:41:19so I like that part of it.
00:41:21It had like a staccato feel.
00:41:24It was all a little bit too sharp for me.
00:41:26It didn't flow.
00:41:28Well, it was the truth.
00:41:30The performance, though, I thought was excellent.
00:41:33You got into the food of it.
00:41:35You had chemistry, a nice routine.
00:41:37Okay, well done.
00:41:38Bruno.
00:41:39Oh, but you always played well.
00:41:42You know, you meet your little girl.
00:41:43Am I going to get her? Maybe not.
00:41:45What am I going to do to do it?
00:41:46I mean, you just played well.
00:41:48You played well.
00:41:49You're a natural.
00:41:50Lenny's right.
00:41:51What happens is, you know, you have a moment of fluidity,
00:41:54but then what happens, you're going to kind of...
00:41:55Oh, I'm sorry.
00:41:57You know, you have to...
00:41:59Rumba has to have a continuous flow to work.
00:42:03And, you know, sometimes you went off it.
00:42:05All right, Carrie Ann.
00:42:07I like the way you toned the performance,
00:42:09because you are younger,
00:42:10and I felt it had an innocence to it,
00:42:11and your dynamic isn't really sexual,
00:42:13so I liked what you did.
00:42:15Well, you're looking at me straight.
00:42:16I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, okay?
00:42:21But I did like that.
00:42:22I do think you paid much more attention
00:42:23to the detail of your footwork,
00:42:25but I think by doing that,
00:42:27you lost track of your upper body,
00:42:28and like Lenny and Brunner are both saying,
00:42:30you were uneven in your dynamic.
00:42:32It was like, hop, hop.
00:42:33Oh, smooth, oh, smooth.
00:42:34Hop, hop.
00:42:35And it was a little unbalanced, yeah.
00:42:36But I love the performance.
00:42:38You still lit up the room.
00:42:39Oh, thank you.
00:42:39All righty.
00:42:40Head on back for your scores.
00:42:42Congratulations.
00:42:42Man, Tom.
00:42:43Hello.
00:42:44What the hell?
00:42:47A bullseye back there.
00:42:49Tonight kicks off three intense weeks
00:42:51of exciting new challenges.
00:42:54Next Monday night,
00:42:54our couples will show off their creativity
00:42:56in our first-ever TV theme week.
00:42:58That's followed by tangos,
00:43:00pasadobles, and pyrotechnics.
00:43:01Oh, my, on our explosive rock and roll week,
00:43:03don't miss a single minute
00:43:05as the competition ratchets up
00:43:07to the next level.
00:43:08Brooke?
00:43:09Thanks, Tom.
00:43:10So, Kyle, first you're becoming a ballroom dancer.
00:43:12You're throwing in a little bit of acting.
00:43:13But I have to ask you,
00:43:14what's going through your teenage mind
00:43:15when you're out there trying to romance Lacey?
00:43:17Bad question.
00:43:18Well, if I have to.
00:43:21Like, Lacey's cool.
00:43:22Like, we go out there,
00:43:23and we just focus on the step that she taught me,
00:43:25and I just go out there and try and give it my all.
00:43:27So you don't think I'm hot?
00:43:28Next question.
00:43:29Can you use it in a sentence?
00:43:30Let me help you out.
00:43:31Let's get your scores for technique.
00:43:33Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
00:43:37Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:43:39Six.
00:43:40Len Goodman.
00:43:41Six.
00:43:42Bruno Tanyoli.
00:43:44Six.
00:43:45All right, that's 18.
00:43:47You've always been a performer.
00:43:48Let's see if you can make up for it right now
00:43:50with your performance scores.
00:43:51Here we go.
00:43:52Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
00:43:56Carrie-Anne Inabe.
00:43:58Eight.
00:43:59Len Goodman.
00:44:00Seven.
00:44:02Bruno Tanyoli.
00:44:03Seven.
00:44:03All right, that's 22,
00:44:05which gives you a total of 40 out of 60.
00:44:06How does that feel?
00:44:08It feels good.
00:44:08You know, I actually agree with the judges.
00:44:10There were some areas that I could have perfected
00:44:12and could have worked on,
00:44:13but each week as it goes on,
00:44:15you know,
00:44:15you start paying more attention
00:44:16and things focus,
00:44:17and I'll get them down.
00:44:19I'll get them down.
00:44:19All right.
00:44:19Well, if Kyle did enough to earn your vote,
00:44:22then you know what to do right now.
00:44:23They want to come back
00:44:24and dance for you again next week,
00:44:26so don't forget to vote for your favorites.
00:44:28Tom.
00:44:28All right, Brooke.
00:44:30Next up,
00:44:31the man who last week Carrie-Anne declared
00:44:33was on his way to becoming a dancer.
00:44:36Let's see if he's made it.
00:44:37It's Mike The Situation Sorrentino
00:44:39and his partner, Karina Smirnoff.
00:44:42Last week,
00:44:47The Situation performed a foxtrot
00:44:49like we've never seen before.
00:44:51Very futuristic,
00:44:54sometimes apocalyptic
00:44:55in a very weird way.
00:44:57Very, very entertaining.
00:45:01Five, six.
00:45:02I completed the foxtrot,
00:45:04which I knew nothing about,
00:45:05and now it's on to the Argentine tango,
00:45:08which, oddly enough,
00:45:08I also know nothing about as well.
00:45:10Boom.
00:45:11Sexy, sexy, sexy.
00:45:13Then...
00:45:13Hold on, hold on, hold on.
00:45:14Hold on.
00:45:16Let me get that sexy, sexy, sexy first.
00:45:19Oh, my God.
00:45:19Don't drag me like the sack of potatoes.
00:45:21Go back, go back, go back, go back, go back.
00:45:23I want to get better timing.
00:45:25Me and Karina,
00:45:26and we're pretty rough right now.
00:45:27The steps, the timing,
00:45:29and everything else,
00:45:30I'm pretty worried about.
00:45:32Like, we didn't even run through it.
00:45:33Like, I feel like,
00:45:34although we did do some steps,
00:45:35like, I just feel like,
00:45:37like,
00:45:39today was not a good day.
00:45:40And I, like, want to do good,
00:45:41and I want to, like, do good for you,
00:45:43and I just want to just, you know,
00:45:45just prove everybody wrong, you know?
00:45:47It's safe to say
00:45:48that we're probably not
00:45:49the most technical couple this season,
00:45:51so we're definitely gonna go
00:45:53for the performance aspect of it.
00:45:55You're gonna pull me up
00:45:56and turn me in the air.
00:46:00Really?
00:46:01That's definitely gonna hurt if she falls.
00:46:05Oh, man.
00:46:07You need to hold on.
00:46:08In Argentine Tango,
00:46:10we are finally able to use such a strength.
00:46:13There you go, there you go,
00:46:15there you go, there you go,
00:46:16but now 360.
00:46:17Now 360.
00:46:20Now 360.
00:46:21It was, it was a rough 180.
00:46:25The first lift is extremely dangerous,
00:46:27but Sitch will do anything not to drop me.
00:46:31He'll injure himself before he drops me,
00:46:33and pretty much that's all that matters.
00:46:34I think you need to throw me higher.
00:46:37Oh, yeah, I think so, too.
00:46:43The situation in Karina's Argentine Tango
00:46:46coming up after the break,
00:46:47and still to come,
00:46:48the pressure of this challenging week
00:46:51is coming to a head
00:46:52for the rest of our stars.
00:46:53Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars,
00:47:12the Unplugged Arena edition.
00:47:14Tonight, for the first time,
00:47:15there is nowhere to hide
00:47:17as all of our performances are acoustic,
00:47:19and as you can see,
00:47:20they're in the round.
00:47:21Never before has our audience
00:47:23been in such danger
00:47:24of being crushed by a falling star.
00:47:26Before the break,
00:47:27the situation and Karina
00:47:28were seen preparing for their dance,
00:47:30and their time has come.
00:47:33Dancing the Argentine Tango,
00:47:35The Situation,
00:47:36and his partner Karina Smirnoff.
00:47:38switch naar Benji
00:49:27Congratulations.
00:49:28And Karina.
00:49:29Come on over here, guys.
00:49:32So with this new setup, I have a different vantage point on watching you guys during the dance.
00:49:41Bruno, I can only imagine.
00:49:43Michael, you know that was a terrible mess.
00:49:47It was like watching somebody putting together a puzzle and it never quite made sense.
00:49:52You know, apart from the incredible amount of mistakes that you did, because of that, you couldn't get into a performance.
00:50:00So you did as best as you could under a really, really, really, really, really terrible situation.
00:50:08Terrible situation.
00:50:10Karianne.
00:50:11And on behalf of all the women, on behalf of all the women, I would like to welcome the situation's abs to our show.
00:50:20And I'm glad you brought them out on this dance because, as Bruno said, it was a rough ride.
00:50:25I was very impressed, though.
00:50:26I do see true improvement with your performance.
00:50:29There is an intensity and an expansion that is genuinely happening.
00:50:34You, though, your hardest thing is the walking.
00:50:37You just kind of work on it.
00:50:38Go back to the basics, all right?
00:50:40Just get the walk right, all right?
00:50:41Good job on the list.
00:50:42Well, it was consistent.
00:50:43It was bad throughout, actually.
00:50:46It's unlucky, really.
00:50:48That was true.
00:50:49You know, I've got to congratulate Karina, actually.
00:50:52It's one thing to get a really fantastic dancer and make them good.
00:50:56You're doing a great job with her situation.
00:50:59And keep it up.
00:51:00All right.
00:51:01Jopali's on to the end.
00:51:03There you go.
00:51:04The situation and Karina will get their scores after the break.
00:51:07Still to dance on this special night.
00:51:09The women who traded the top two places on the judges' leaderboard last week.
00:51:13And the woman who took a tumble.
00:51:15Up next, there's a romantic rumba from the couple who performed last week's most emotional story waltz.
00:51:21Florence and Corky are live.
00:51:41Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:51:43Before the break, the situation and Karina danced an Argentine tango.
00:51:47Now, this week, you guys were concentrating on performance.
00:51:50Is that why you put in so many ambitious lifts?
00:51:52Oh, you know what?
00:51:53We're trying to do the best we can to improve every week.
00:51:55And, you know, Karina put the lifts in, and I thought I was able to pull them off somewhat.
00:52:00And she's in one piece right now.
00:52:03She is in one piece.
00:52:04So good for that.
00:52:05Let's get your technical scores.
00:52:06Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
00:52:10Karianne Inaba.
00:52:12Four.
00:52:13Len Goodman.
00:52:15Four.
00:52:16Bruno Tognoli.
00:52:17Four.
00:52:18All right, that's 12.
00:52:20I know that's difficult.
00:52:21We've got one more set of scores for performance.
00:52:23Let's hope that those are better.
00:52:25Here we go.
00:52:26That is the situation.
00:52:27That is the situation.
00:52:30Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
00:52:33Karianne Inaba.
00:52:35Six.
00:52:36Len Goodman.
00:52:37Five.
00:52:38Bruno Tognoli.
00:52:40Five.
00:52:41All right, that's 16, which gives you 28 out of 60.
00:52:44It is the lowest score of the night.
00:52:46How does it feel?
00:52:47I mean, that's definitely a situation.
00:52:49So, I'll be honest.
00:52:51You know what?
00:52:52I had fun out there.
00:52:54The lifts were extremely hard.
00:52:55And as long as Karianne is in one piece, that's all that matters right now.
00:52:59The good news is you pulled them off.
00:53:00Now, if they need your support tonight, call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:53:04Tom.
00:53:05All right, Brooke, thank you.
00:53:06Next on the floor, the woman who impressed the judges with the storytelling of last week's
00:53:11dance, though left them longing for more technique.
00:53:14Let's see if she brings it tonight.
00:53:16It's TV icon Florence Henderson and her partner, Corky Ballas.
00:53:25Last week, Florence put her heart into her waltz, but her body didn't follow.
00:53:32The technique in your feet is non-existent, unfortunately.
00:53:37Now we have the romantic rumba.
00:53:40Really?
00:53:41A vertical expression of a horizontal desire.
00:53:44Wow.
00:53:45Sounds very sexy.
00:53:48Four and step.
00:53:50That was it.
00:53:51Last week, the judges were a little harsh on the technical aspect of my dance.
00:53:55So, this week with the double scoring, Corky is pushing me harder than ever before.
00:54:01Come on.
00:54:02Right, left, close.
00:54:03In.
00:54:04That's it.
00:54:05Left.
00:54:06Right.
00:54:07Close.
00:54:08I have no fear of being sexy.
00:54:12Whatever Corky throws at me, I'm gonna throw right back.
00:54:16The rumba is the sexiest of the Latin dances, and Florence and I are the oldest couple doing
00:54:22it.
00:54:23We don't want our rumba to come across undignified, so we invited Florence's daughter Barbara and
00:54:28my son, Martha, come check it out.
00:54:30I want you guys to tell us, you know, if you think it's appropriate, some of the steps.
00:54:35You know, Corky likes to push the envelope, and sometimes I get carried away.
00:54:39No.
00:54:40Wow.
00:54:41Shut up.
00:54:47I like that.
00:54:48What?
00:54:49Yeah, I like that.
00:54:50Are you kidding me?
00:54:51What part did you like?
00:54:52You're grabbing his, yeah.
00:54:53Oh.
00:54:58Wow.
00:54:59Close your eyes, kids, because this rumba is gonna be racing.
00:55:08What?
00:55:09That's my boy.
00:55:11Dancing the rumba, Florence Henderson and her partner Corky Ballas.
00:55:19.
00:55:20Who are at last?
00:55:29You were up the corky ballots.
00:55:30All my troubles seemed so far away.
00:55:34Now it looks as though they are here to stare.
00:55:35Oh i believe in yesterday.
00:55:48To go, I don't know
00:55:51She wouldn't say
00:55:53I said something wrong
00:55:59Now I long for yesterday
00:56:03Yesterday
00:56:05Love was such an easy game to play
00:56:11Now I need a place to hide away
00:56:15Oh, I believe yesterday
00:56:20Why she had to go
00:56:25I don't know
00:56:26She wouldn't say
00:56:29I said something wrong
00:56:35Now I long for yesterday
00:56:38Yesterday
00:56:41Love was such an easy game to play
00:56:47Now I need a place to hide away
00:56:51Oh, I believe
00:56:54I must go home
00:56:57Come on over here, you two
00:57:13And that's our season 11
00:57:28Get a room dance
00:57:29Let's see what the judges
00:57:32Let's see what the judges have to say
00:57:34Oh, I gotta start with you, Carrie Ann
00:57:37What just happened?
00:57:40You're Mrs. Brady
00:57:41What was that?
00:57:45Okay, you definitely proved
00:57:48That age has no relationship
00:57:51To how sexy and raunchy and dirty
00:57:53You can make a day
00:57:54Come on
00:57:55However, I kind of felt
00:57:58Like it went just a little too far
00:58:00And I actually got a little uncomfortable
00:58:03And I'm not that conservative
00:58:05But I was a little scared of you
00:58:07Oh, I can only imagine
00:58:08What you're gonna say, Lynn
00:58:09I'll tell you what I'm gonna say
00:58:11It was much better
00:58:12Than I expected
00:58:14Oh, okay
00:58:15Well done
00:58:15Oh
00:58:16And Bruno
00:58:19I mean, you went through everything
00:58:21I don't know if it was scary
00:58:23Saucy, spices
00:58:24Capricious
00:58:25Dramatic
00:58:26Funny
00:58:27I think
00:58:28A few things less would have sufficed
00:58:31As performers
00:58:32Technique, obviously
00:58:33There are some things
00:58:34You lost timing many, many times
00:58:36The hips were not working
00:58:37And that funny turn
00:58:38I don't know
00:58:39It gave me a turn
00:58:40All right
00:58:42I've seen better
00:58:43All right
00:58:44An interesting mixed judgment
00:58:46Head on back there for your scores

00:59:17I thought it went great

00:59:20But I thought we delivered
00:59:22What we were supposed to
00:59:23And Corky
00:59:24I think

01:01:22It was almost like
01:01:25Everything goes in
01:01:26Slow motion
01:01:26And you're like
01:01:27Oh no
01:01:29And I just look at

01:01:37But tonight
01:01:37You guys were just
01:01:38Slightly out of sync
01:01:39I think being at the top
01:01:41Of the leaderboard
01:01:42Has a pressure
01:01:43That there's only
01:01:44One place to go
01:01:44Which is down
01:01:45And so I like the idea
01:01:46Of having some place
01:01:48To go up to
01:01:49This week
01:01:49We've got the Argentine Tango
01:01:50Warm and
01:01:54After my mistake
01:01:55Last week
01:01:55I'm even more concerned
01:01:56That my technique
01:01:57Is really good
01:01:58Because Derek's technique
01:01:59Is beyond
01:02:01Everyone's going to be
01:02:02Looking to see
01:02:02If I can hold my own
01:02:04That doesn't feel good
01:02:09Each dance
01:02:10Brings with it
01:02:11Its own
01:02:11Set of pain
01:02:12And this week
01:02:15It feels like
01:02:16It's going to be
01:02:16My back with the lifts
01:02:17And my foot
01:02:18My neuroma
01:02:19I have a neuroma
01:02:20In my foot
01:02:21Which is basically
01:02:22A pinched nerve
01:02:23In the ball of my foot
01:02:24Every time I step
01:02:26On that foot
01:02:26I'm sorry
01:02:28I'm so old
01:02:28No
01:02:29Don't say that
01:02:30That's stupid
01:02:30Sometimes I question myself
01:02:32You know
01:02:33She's got this
01:02:33Bad foot
01:02:34Her neck
01:02:35Has got two screws
01:02:36In it
01:02:36Maybe I need to
01:02:37Calm down here
01:02:38Maybe I'm going
01:02:38Too fast for her
01:02:39But then the other
01:02:39Side of me goes
01:02:40No
01:02:41She can do it
01:02:42Believe that you're awesome
01:02:43Like believe that
01:02:45And do it
01:02:45And dance like that
01:02:46Yeah
01:02:46Confident
01:02:48I feel that my competitiveness
01:02:52Comes out mostly
01:02:53With myself
01:02:54But I just want
01:02:55To be better
01:02:56Than I was yesterday
01:02:57Let me try one more time
01:02:58I'm going to do it this time
01:02:59Everyone's dances
01:03:00Have gotten really good
01:03:02And the competition
01:03:03Is getting tight
01:03:04So I just have to do
01:03:05Whatever I can
01:03:06To separate myself
01:03:07From the pack
01:03:08As the Argentine
01:03:09Tango queen
01:03:10Dancing the Argentine
01:03:16Tango
01:03:17Jennifer Grey
01:03:18And her partner
01:03:19Derek Hough
01:03:19Thank you
01:03:47Thank you
01:03:49Thank you
01:04:17Thank you
01:04:19Thank you
01:04:21Thank you
01:04:23Thank you
01:04:25Thank you
01:04:27Thank you
01:04:29Thank you
01:04:31Thank you
01:04:42Thank you
01:04:43Thank you
01:04:45Thank you
01:04:55All right, let's start with our head judge, Len Goodling.
01:05:15Well, it was a dance that combined excellent technique, great performance skills.
01:05:21Add to that, one of my favorite tangos, beautifully played, a magnificent combination.
01:05:28Well done.
01:05:29All right, Bruno.
01:05:30As performances goes, this really is primetime delight.
01:05:35Yeah.
01:05:36Fantastic.
01:05:39Technically, the intricacy of what you did is beyond belief.
01:05:43The musicality unsurpassed tonight.
01:05:47You've done an incredible job.
01:05:49All right, there you go.
01:05:51Thank you, Jennifer.
01:05:52The precision was incredible.
01:05:53The passion was incredible.
01:05:55That was a-may-zing.
01:05:57All right.
01:05:58We're all together on that one.
01:06:00Jennifer and Derek will get their scores after the break.
01:06:03Join us live.
01:06:04Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars before the break.
01:06:05Jennifer and Derek danced in Argentine tango.
01:06:19Jennifer, despite all of your injuries, you're so committed to this competition.
01:06:34What's driving you?
01:06:36I'm just going to be as good as I can be today.
01:06:38Yeah.
01:06:39That's it.
01:06:40Just really, really want to do my best and, you know, show myself what I can still do or
01:06:45never knew I could do and can do as a matter of fact.
01:06:48You're doing it tonight.
01:06:49Let's get your technical scores.
01:06:51Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
01:06:54Carrie-Ann Inaba.
01:06:55Nine.
01:06:56Len Goodman.
01:06:57Nine.
01:06:58Bruno Tomioli.
01:06:59Nine.
01:07:00All right.
01:07:01That's 27.
01:07:02Highest score of the ninth.
01:07:03Amazing.
01:07:04Fantastic.
01:07:05I mean, the technical side, that's like the hardest part.
01:07:06Well, let's hope that the performance scores are also a prime-time delight.
01:07:11Here we go.
01:07:12Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
01:07:16Carrie-Ann Inaba.
01:07:17Ten.
01:07:18Len Goodman.
01:07:19Nine.
01:07:20Bruno Tomioli.
01:07:21Ten.
01:07:22That's 29, which gives you a total of 56 out of 60.
01:07:24Finally, the final score.
01:07:25That's 29, which gives you a total of 56 out of 60.
01:07:28Finally, the first 10 of the season.
01:07:31They're thrilled.
01:07:32They can come back and dance again for you next week.
01:07:35But only if you help say so.
01:07:37Do not let them rely on judges' scores alone.
01:07:39They need your votes tonight.
01:07:41They are so excited.
01:07:42First 10s of the season.
01:07:43Tom.
01:07:44Bet there's some real paddle envy back there now.
01:07:47Last week, Len said our next star's Foxtrot was, quote, too contemporary,
01:07:51which, of course, for Len is anything after England lost the colonies.
01:07:54It's teen activist Crystal Palin and her partner,
01:07:57Mark Ballas.
01:08:04Last Monday, Bristol's execution was strong, but her performance was off.
01:08:09You've got to feel it.
01:08:11And we have to see that you feel it.
01:08:13Show it to me, baby.
01:08:15It sucks because we did take a chance.
01:08:17I tried my hardest.
01:08:18You just need to work on the acting side of things.
01:08:20It's okay.
01:08:21Everyone has their weakness, you know?
01:08:22So, are you uncomfortable with me being this close?
01:08:24Yes.
01:08:25Well, you shouldn't be.
01:08:26Because next week we have a minute and 36 seconds of the Rumba!
01:08:30I'm a 19-year-old mom.
01:08:31I thought, how am I going to pull this off?
01:08:33I'm nervous about this one because it's sexy and stuff.
01:08:36Mm-hmm.
01:08:37And I'm not.
01:08:38Sensual zone.
01:08:39Sensual zone.
01:08:40Sensual zone.
01:08:41Sensual zone.
01:08:42Sensual zone.
01:08:43Trashy.
01:08:44Trashy.
01:08:45The Rumba and Bristol have absolutely zero in common.
01:08:50This week I know I have to perform and I feel like it's either like make it or break it.
01:08:56Really.
01:08:57Step.
01:08:58Well, see, I can't.
01:08:59You give up.
01:09:00Stop giving up.
01:09:01Alright?
01:09:02And do it.
01:09:03Boom!
01:09:04Nope.
01:09:05Lame.
01:09:06Slap it.
01:09:07Yes!
01:09:08That's it.
01:09:09Now leg.
01:09:10Leg.
01:09:11Leg.
01:09:12Straighten it.
01:09:13And boom.
01:09:14Good.
01:09:15Alright, let's take a break.
01:09:16Being on this show is stressful.
01:09:18But when I come home and see Tripp, it just brightens my day.
01:09:21Please, mom.
01:09:22Please.
01:09:23Mom.
01:09:24Good boy.
01:09:25They're yummy, huh?
01:09:27Delicious.
01:09:28Dear.
01:09:30Aww.
01:09:31Aww.
01:09:32Aww.
01:09:33Aww.
01:09:34Yes.
01:09:35Mark came over and we showed Tripp our dance.
01:09:37Tripp really loved it.
01:09:38And I just wish she was old enough to vote.
01:09:40Woo!
01:09:48Dancing the rumba, Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas.
01:09:56You had my heart, and we'll never be worlds apart.
01:10:00Maybe in magazines, but you'll still be my star.
01:10:06But baby, cause in the dark, you will see shiny cars.
01:10:11And that's when you need me there.
01:10:13With you all I'd always share.
01:10:16Because, when the sunshine may shine together.
01:10:20Told you I'll be here forever.
01:10:23Said I'll always be your friend.
01:10:25To be no thoughts to get out to the end.
01:10:28Tell that it's raining more than ever.
01:10:30Know that we still have each other.
01:10:31Know that we still have each other.
01:10:33You can stand under my umbrella.
01:10:35You can stand under my umbrella.
01:10:36You can stand under my umbrella.
01:10:38Ella, Ella, eh, eh, eh.
01:10:41Under my umbrella.
01:10:43Ella, Ella, eh, eh, eh.
01:10:45Ella, eh, eh, eh, eh.
01:10:49So gonna let the rain pour.
01:10:52I'll be all you need and more.
01:10:58Because now that it's raining more than ever.
01:11:02Know that we still have each other.
01:11:05You can stand under my umbrella.
01:11:07You can stand under my umbrella.
01:11:09It's raining, raining.
01:11:11Oh, baby, it's raining, raining.
01:11:14Come into me.
01:11:17Come into me.
01:11:20Ella, Ella, Ella, eh, eh.
01:11:24Under my umbrella.
01:11:26Ella, Ella, eh, eh, eh.
01:11:33Crystal and Mark.
01:11:39All right, you two, come over here.
01:11:44All right, let's start with Bruno this time.
01:11:50Bruno, we'll start with you.
01:11:52My darling, technically, you're always kind of clean.
01:11:56You know, you place yourself properly.
01:11:58You do your moves.
01:12:00But those moves never go anywhere.
01:12:03I think that comes from the performers.
01:12:05Because I'm still waiting.
01:12:07You know, because you do a thing and then you go vacant.
01:12:10Oh, where am I?
01:12:11Oh, yeah, I've got...
01:12:12No, but at least you know it's true.
01:12:14You have to sustain it all the way through.
01:12:17I've been saying this for weeks.
01:12:18Okay.
01:12:19You've got to do it.
01:12:20Carrie Ann.
01:12:21What's sad is you have all the makings.
01:12:23The way you move your body.
01:12:25The pictures that you just naturally create without any effort.
01:12:27They're really beautiful.
01:12:29But there's no effort.
01:12:33We're week four.
01:12:34You're performing for lots and lots of people here in the house as well as at home.
01:12:38There's like 200 million people watching the show.
01:12:40I feel like you're just dancing for Mark.
01:12:42I want to call you out and I want to see you dance with much more intensity.
01:12:46And a little too much distraction.
01:12:48Although your body looks great, Mark.
01:12:49Okay?
01:12:50Just there's a little distraction.
01:12:51Yeah, Mark, I find you're...
01:12:55You know, you don't see me taking my shirt off and exposing myself to everyone.
01:12:59You know, these things are distractions.
01:13:02Last week I felt, you know, you started doing something.
01:13:05Tonight the same, she's just laying there.
01:13:08I want to see more we and less me out of your routines.
01:13:12Your performances do lack a bit of conviction, but I thought your technique was there.
01:13:16Hey, Len, remember our Halloween show's coming up, so think about taking...
01:13:21Head on back for your scores, if you would.
01:13:26Now, before this acoustic loop is done, let's give a special mention to our unplugged band and our singers.
01:13:33And thanks to the man who made it all possible, our musical director, Harold Wheeler.
01:13:38Brooke.
01:13:39Thanks, Tom.
01:13:40Come on over here, you two.
01:13:42I'm trying to figure out what was more of a distraction.
01:13:44Having to dance a sexy dance like that in front of your mom or Mark taking his shirt off.
01:13:48So what was going through your mind?
01:13:49Um, I don't know.
01:13:51I was just focused on the performance and doing well.
01:13:53All right.
01:13:54Let's get your scores for technique.
01:13:57Will the judges please reveal their technical scores?
01:14:00Carianne Inaba.
01:14:02Six.
01:14:03Len Goodman.
01:14:04Six.
01:14:06Bruno Tognoli.
01:14:07Six.
01:14:08All right.
01:14:09That's 18.
01:14:10Now, everything matters tonight.
01:14:11Take a look at this clip and we're going to see what's going on with your facial expression.
01:14:15So talk me through this.
01:14:16What's going on here?
01:14:17What were you thinking about?
01:14:18Um, I was just...
01:14:20Stretch.
01:14:21Thinking stretch.
01:14:22Point my toes.
01:14:24What else?
01:14:25You're thinking, look at me with intensity.
01:14:27I thought you looked pretty hot.
01:14:28I'm not going to lie.
01:14:29All right.
01:14:30Let's get your scores for performance.
01:14:32Put some clothes on, Mark.
01:14:33Will the judges please reveal their performance scores?
01:14:36Carrie-Anne Inaba.
01:14:38Four.
01:14:40Len Goodman.
01:14:41Five.
01:14:42Bruno Tognoli.
01:14:43Five.
01:14:44All right.
01:14:45That's 14, which gives you a total of 32 out of 60.
01:14:47How does that feel?
01:14:48It blows.
01:14:49That really sucks.
01:14:51Well, you know, that's the way it goes.
01:14:53If we get back next week, we're going to try our best.
01:14:55But I think for someone who's never danced or performed in front of anybody, to come out
01:14:58here, do this rumba in front of everybody, she did really good.
01:15:01I'm really proud.
01:15:02All right.
01:15:03Well, we appreciate the honesty.
01:15:04And if you want to see more of them and give them an opportunity to come back and dance
01:15:07again next week, then you need to call, text, and log on to abc.com.
01:15:12They need your support tonight.
01:15:14Tom?
01:15:15Brooke, thanks.
01:15:16Last on the floor, the woman who took the lead last week with a story routine the judges
01:15:20called the most touching dance of the night.
01:15:22We'll see if Audrina and Tony can touch them again when we come back live.
01:15:29Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
01:15:46Our first night of Acoustic Week is drawing to a close with our final dance from a woman
01:15:51who last week took the top of the leaderboard with our highest scores of the season.
01:15:55Tonight's highest score is Jennifer and Derek with 56.
01:15:59Let's see if she can beat that.
01:16:00It's the Hill star, Audrina Patridge and her partner, Tony Davalani.
01:16:04Last week, Audrina wilded the ballroom with a waltz that was both beautiful and touching.
01:16:14I think the competition just got very interesting.
01:16:21Eight!
01:16:22Nine!
01:16:23Nine!
01:16:24She earned the first nines of the season and grabbed the top spot on the leaderboard.
01:16:28It's really, it's blowing my mind.
01:16:30It was just five years ago that, you know, I was just a receptionist at a photo studio,
01:16:34and who would have thought that I would be the front runner on Dancing with the Stars in week four?
01:16:39We have the Argentine tango, which is all about the story.
01:16:42Yeah.
01:16:43I don't know anything about the Argentine tango.
01:16:45That's a good thing.
01:16:46That means you have a clean slate.
01:16:47Nothing.
01:16:48Good.
01:16:49Good.
01:16:50Good.
01:16:51Unhook.
01:16:52Very good.
01:16:53Twist.
01:16:54And, okay, now what are you thinking right now?
01:16:55I thought that was good.
01:16:56That was good, but look down.
01:16:58You're in the audience.
01:16:59Oh, my God.
01:17:00Yeah.
01:17:01All right, that's not good.
01:17:02The idea of literally being on top of the audience and so up close and personal is way more scary than the past three weeks.
01:17:11Like magnify.
01:17:12Correct.
01:17:13It's magnified because it's close proximity.
01:17:15Everybody's going to see everything.
01:17:17Man, okay.
01:17:18I need you to give them everything you got.
01:17:22Everything you got.
01:17:23Okay.
01:17:24So this is where it starts.
01:17:25Then we have to add the passion to it.
01:17:27We have to add the character to it.
01:17:29The facial expression.
01:17:30Yes.
01:17:31This is where the acting comes in again.
01:17:32Yes.
01:17:33The challenge with Double Score Showdown is you can't hide performance with good technique.
01:17:38You have to have both.
01:17:39And I know she has it in her.
01:17:41Are you trying to make a point?
01:17:43You're upset.
01:17:44Make a point.
01:17:45I thought you're going to get wrinkles.
01:17:47No.
01:17:48I'm doing this.
01:17:49I'm squinting my eyes.
01:17:52The Argentine tango is all about passion and aggression, which is the complete opposite of me.
01:17:58So working on some acting techniques with Tony really helped me get into character.
01:18:03Who are you in this tango?
01:18:05The diva.
01:18:06That's right.
01:18:07Who are you in this tango again?
01:18:08The biatch.
01:18:09Come on.
01:18:10More powerful.
01:18:11More powerful.
01:18:12That's the one.
01:18:13Tonight, I have to unleash the passion for Argentine tango.
01:18:16If I can get that, I think I can stay on top.
01:18:18The intensity that you just created was exactly what I need.
01:18:21Dancing the Argentine tango, Audrina Patrick and her partner Tony Devolani.
01:18:30When the truth is found to be lies.
01:18:39And all the joy within you dies.
01:18:46Don't you want somebody to love?
01:18:50Don't you need somebody to love?
01:18:53Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
01:18:57You better find somebody to love.
01:19:01Oh you better find somebody to love.
01:19:24Somebody to love
01:19:26You better find
01:19:27Somebody to love
01:19:29Teal around
01:19:35Around your friends
01:19:40Hello friends baby
01:19:43They treat you like
01:19:46A guess
01:19:48Don't you want
01:19:50Somebody to love
01:19:52Don't you want to be
01:19:53Somebody to love
01:19:55Wouldn't you love
01:19:57Somebody to love
01:19:59You better find
01:20:01Somebody to love
01:20:03Audrey and Tony
01:20:10There you go
01:20:14Let's see how our judges
01:20:18Assess that one
01:20:19I enjoyed that
01:20:21But I think
01:20:22You know
01:20:22You're so close
01:20:24Like I feel
01:20:24That the competition
01:20:26Is getting really tight
01:20:26But you have to work
01:20:27On extending your foot
01:20:29All the way past your toe
01:20:30It's not just pointing
01:20:31Your toe
01:20:31But you seem to lack
01:20:32Energy at your ankle
01:20:33It sort of gets a little
01:20:34And then
01:20:36Yeah I know you are
01:20:36And I can see the improvement
01:20:37But you got to work
01:20:38On it more
01:20:38Because this is
01:20:39We're getting there now
01:20:40I also think
01:20:41I just wrote something
01:20:41Oh yeah your dismount
01:20:42It's just a little bit
01:20:44Floppy on the dismounts
01:20:45Of some of the lifts
01:20:46You just came down
01:20:47A little hard
01:20:47But your performance
01:20:48Is growing
01:20:49I see your eyes
01:20:50Are lighting up
01:20:50I see nuances
01:20:51That I never saw before
01:20:52All right
01:20:53Well I thought it was clean
01:20:56It was clear
01:20:57I thought the lifts
01:20:58Were very good
01:20:59Thank you
01:20:59I thought the routine
01:21:00Was very clever
01:21:01I don't know why
01:21:03But I didn't get
01:21:04Sort of transported
01:21:05To a seedy club
01:21:07In Buenos Aires
01:21:08It was a little
01:21:09The music was interesting
01:21:09Pardon
01:21:10The music wasn't traditional
01:21:12I know
01:21:12Yeah well I didn't get
01:21:13That feeling
01:21:14Through the dance
01:21:15That you know
01:21:16It was hot
01:21:17And wonky
01:21:18And good
01:21:19And sometimes
01:21:21You really scare me
01:21:23You know
01:21:23The thing is
01:21:25He's right
01:21:26Because I think
01:21:26It was effective
01:21:28In a way
01:21:28But you performed
01:21:29A bit like
01:21:29You know
01:21:30The ice queen type
01:21:32You know
01:21:32Cool and determined
01:21:33Slightly detached
01:21:34Which you know
01:21:35It works in a certain way
01:21:37But it doesn't have
01:21:38That kind of drive
01:21:39Technically though
01:21:40It wasn't bad at all
01:21:42Because you put
01:21:43A lot of very difficult
01:21:44Embellishments
01:21:45The fact is
01:21:46That you didn't
01:21:47Point the feet
01:21:48By not pointing the feet
01:21:50And having weak feet
01:21:51He wasn't sharp
01:21:52And she's right
01:21:53You've got to extend
01:21:54The back of the leg
01:21:55Into the velo pace
01:21:56All right
01:21:56Okay
01:21:57Head on back
01:21:57For some scores
01:21:58If you would
01:21:58And while they do
01:22:00Let me remind you
01:22:01That AT&T customers
01:22:02Can watch exclusive

01:22:12Another star

01:22:14At 9, 8 central
01:22:16Brooke
01:22:16Thanks Tom
01:22:17So both of you
01:22:18Were at the top
01:22:18Of the leaderboard
01:22:19Last week

01:22:20Jennifer had the
01:22:21Dance of the night
01:22:22How does it feel
01:22:22To come out here
01:22:23And beat that
01:22:24Her dance was amazing
01:22:26Try to beat that
01:22:26We don't know if you beat it yet
01:22:27I mean it was
01:22:29It's tough out there
01:22:30And all these lifts
01:22:31I cannot do the splits
01:22:32I try
01:22:33But no
01:22:35They gave me some great pointers
01:22:36That I'll use for next week

01:23:18You know
01:23:18I did my best
01:23:19The cool thing about this
01:23:20Is that she's not a dancer
01:23:21She's never taken any dance lessons before
01:23:22And she's already competing at the top
01:23:24This is awesome
01:23:25This is a transformation
