00:03:04Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard hit the canvas last week
00:03:08leaving these eight stars to do ballroom battle.
00:03:12It is not only the halfway point of our competition
00:03:15but also, as you may have guessed,
00:03:17the celebration of Americana.
00:03:19All of the routines will be performed to songs
00:03:22that salute our country.
00:03:24We're also celebrating our 1,000th competitive dance.
00:03:27Which couple will hit that milestone tonight?
00:03:30You'll have to stay right here to find out.
00:03:32So let's start off this tribute to all things American
00:03:35with a good old-fashioned samba.
00:03:38We are now outsourcing dances.
00:03:41To perform it, the couple who dominated the first two weeks
00:03:44of the competition but have since been locked in third place.
00:03:48We'll see if this is their night to make a comeback.
00:03:51Movie star Ralph Macchio and his partner Karina Smirnoff.
00:03:55♪♪♪
00:04:00Last Monday, Ralph brought romance to the ballroom
00:04:03with his waltz.
00:04:05Nice!
00:04:07And he received his best scores yet.
00:04:09Great score.
00:04:11We're not on the very top yet, but we are...
00:04:14Climbing back.
00:04:16Yeah, we're getting there, little by little.
00:04:18I think the fact that there's no clear frontrunner
00:04:20over four weeks' time,
00:04:22it keeps you focused on what you're doing.
00:04:24This week, we have the American night
00:04:27to sweet home Alabama.
00:04:29I'm a New Yorker, Karina is Russian.
00:04:32We're dancing the samba about Alabama.
00:04:35It's perfect.
00:04:36Two, a three, a four.
00:04:38Where am I?
00:04:39Step, heel.
00:04:41They wear it back.
00:04:42Shows you how well-versed.
00:04:44I'm so fish out of water.
00:04:45And how do they wear these?
00:04:47Forward and circle, circle.
00:04:50Ralph danced to do that in the ballroom dances,
00:04:53so I really need to make sure
00:04:55he shows hip action in the samba.
00:04:57Hip, hip, hip, perfect, perfect.
00:05:00She stopped laughing at me.
00:05:02And stretch, da-da, stretch.
00:05:06My waltz brought me back up to the top.
00:05:08I'm hoping my American samba,
00:05:11Brazilian party dance about Alabama
00:05:14keeps me there.
00:05:15I like it.
00:05:16All right, call our horse and let's start samba.
00:05:18Call our what?
00:05:19Horse.
00:05:20Oh, okay.
00:05:22CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:05:25Dancing the samba,
00:05:27Ralph Macchio and his partner, Karina Smirnoff.
00:05:30CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:05:35Turn it up!
00:05:41Big wheels keep on turnin'
00:05:46Carry me home to see my kid
00:05:50Singin' songs about the Southland
00:05:55I miss old family once again
00:05:57I think it's a good guess
00:06:09Sweet home Alabama
00:06:14Where the skies are so blue
00:06:18Sweet home Alabama
00:06:23Lord, I'm comin' home to you
00:06:28Sweet home Alabama
00:06:30Oh, sweet home
00:06:32Where the skies are so blue
00:06:35And the governor's true
00:06:37Sweet home Alabama
00:06:42Lord, I'm comin' home to you, you, you, yeah
00:06:47Sweet home Alabama
00:06:56CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:07:05Ralph and Karina!
00:07:08And good old Uncle Samba!
00:07:13Okay.
00:07:14High energy start.
00:07:16And we go to our charming, lovable, always affable judges.
00:07:21Len, you start.
00:07:22Well, you know, we're halfway through season 12.
00:07:24We're starting to decide who are the pretenders,
00:07:27who are the contenders.
00:07:28And, Ralph, one week I think you're there.
00:07:31You're right up there.
00:07:32You're gonna get right through.
00:07:33Then another week I think, no, this is not working.
00:07:37And I'm not saying this was terrible
00:07:39because it wasn't terrible,
00:07:40but you're not consistent.
00:07:44One week you're up there.
00:07:45You're better in your ballroom than you're Latin.
00:07:48And your rumba, lack of hip action.
00:07:50Here, the samba, you've gotta get hips,
00:07:52you've gotta get rhythm.
00:07:53These things were lacking.
00:07:55You've gotta work on more rhythm throughout the dance.
00:07:58It's not terrible,
00:07:59but lacked a lot of the qualities that you'd like to see.
00:08:02All right.
00:08:03And, by the way, they love it when you boo them.
00:08:05It's like British Parliament.
00:08:07Bruno?
00:08:08Actually, I cannot disagree.
00:08:11I tell you, yes, it's American night.
00:08:13And the line dance and two-step was very, very good.
00:08:15But we're looking at a samba.
00:08:18It needs fire down below, man.
00:08:21You've gotta get it going.
00:08:22You've gotta get it.
00:08:23Get these hips going.
00:08:25Get the lines going.
00:08:26You have to.
00:08:28No, but he's absolutely right.
00:08:30You do a character very, very well.
00:08:32But we want to see that kind of Latin feel
00:08:34that is required for this Latin dancer.
00:08:37They need sex.
00:08:38Give me sex, man.
00:08:42All right, carry on.
00:08:45Excuse me, you two.
00:08:47It's Americana Week.
00:08:52Okay, mixing the samba element
00:08:54with the celebration of Americana
00:08:56to Sweet Home Alabama.
00:08:57Yes, it's sort of a crazy concoction,
00:08:59and it's a tall order,
00:09:00but I think that was a great entertaining performance.
00:09:03I think you did good,
00:09:04and it was probably your most vivacious performance ever.
00:09:08There you go.
00:09:09Very nice.
00:09:10There you go.
00:09:11Thank you so much.
00:11:07And now, Ramba will attempt to unite them with a patriotic Viennese waltz.
00:11:12Here's a look at the fight and talk, falls and frustration that's still to come.
00:11:19I want to show the judges I'm not just here to beat my dad.
00:11:22I'm here to take the title.
00:11:23I want to be number one.
00:11:24Stop.
00:11:27Right now, Ramba isn't looking too romantic.
00:11:30I'm sorry.
00:11:31Ready?
00:11:32I don't know what you want me to do.
00:11:33I'm showing you.
00:11:34Just follow me.
00:11:35Carrie-Anne kind of made me feel like trash when she was judging me.
00:11:38She said, it's almost like you're afraid of elegance.
00:11:42I'm not afraid of elegance.
00:11:53Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars American Week.
00:11:56Last week, Bruno and Carrie-Anne were impressed by this next man's Paso Doble,
00:12:02but he was conquered by the music.
00:12:04According to Len, will he be victorious with a Viennese waltz to America the Beautiful?
00:12:10It's WWE star and master impressionist Chris Jericho and his partner Cheryl Burke.
00:12:21Last Monday, Chris's powerful Paso left the judges torn.
00:12:27The music conquered you.
00:12:28You didn't conquer the music.
00:12:31Len won this.
00:12:32Now there are big kids are growing among the judges.
00:12:34Seven.
00:12:36Hey Len, I got a message for you.
00:12:40My mission this week is to get better than a seven from Len.
00:12:43It's like four weeks in a row.
00:12:44Seven is his sticking point, which is good, but I want to get better.
00:12:48And the way to do that with Len, especially in the Viennese waltz, is to show him really good technique.
00:12:52This is a 300-year-old dance, Cheryl.
00:12:55Make sure you use the technique.
00:12:57Okay.
00:12:58Ozzy Osbourne.
00:13:00Our song this week is America the Beautiful.
00:13:02There's a little bit of pressure in dancing to a song that represents the entire country.
00:13:06I mean, when you've got Purple Mountain's Majesties involved, there's a lot of pressure on you.
00:13:12Dizzy?
00:13:13Yeah.
00:13:17I feel like I'm drunk.
00:13:18The Viennese waltz, it's like being in a gravity chamber at the fair, where you're just going around and around and around.
00:13:25I feel like I'm going to puke.
00:13:26Do you want to take a break?
00:13:27No.
00:13:30Good.
00:13:31Best one you've done.
00:13:32I haven't made a career out of being in the middle of the pack.
00:13:35I've never been happy with that, and never will be.
00:13:37It's time to prove that I'm a top contender in this competition.
00:13:40Always finish your lines.
00:13:41Really extend from your fingertips.
00:13:43Let me try it a few more times.
00:13:44I'll get it.
00:13:45I'd stay awake at night about the fact that I got 23 last week, when I think I could have got better.
00:13:50Len, tonight, I don't want any more sevens.
00:13:52I can see it now.
00:13:53Jericho, eight!
00:13:59Dancing the Viennese waltz, Chris Jericho and his partner Cheryl Burke.
00:14:29For purple mountain majesty, above the fruited plain.
00:14:46Love America.
00:14:52I love you America.
00:14:56God shed your grace on me.
00:15:05God shed your grace on me.
00:15:09God shed your grace on me.
00:15:15God shed your grace on me.
00:15:21God shed your grace on me.
00:15:27God shed your grace on me.
00:15:40Chris and Cheryl!
00:15:44Alright, you two.
00:15:48Look at that!
00:15:49Okay.
00:15:51Bruno's rare to go.
00:15:54Big, yet graceful.
00:15:57Strong, yet delicate of touch.
00:16:00Elegant, with a sweeping sense of romance.
00:16:04It was absolutely wonderful.
00:16:12In some weird way, I feel like we've underestimated you.
00:16:16You are so good.
00:16:18Your technique is so amazing.
00:16:21You are a contender, my friend.
00:16:23A real contender.
00:16:25Okay, let's go to the guy whose voice you did.
00:16:28Go ahead, Lenny.
00:16:29What is this?
00:16:30No, it's your turn, Lenny.
00:16:31No, they're having a little...
00:16:32That's alright, jump in.
00:16:34American week, and it's so nice to see Cheryl showing off the Rocky Mountains there.
00:16:42Let me tell you, Chris.
00:16:44I feel violated.
00:16:45You haven't had a seven.
00:16:46Week one, you only got a six.
00:16:47Okay.
00:16:48Sorry.
00:16:49And when you deserve an eight, I'll give you one.
00:16:52It was a little bit flat-footed.
00:16:54Okay.
00:17:00Your hold and your posture was good.
00:17:02I'd like to see you just work a little bit more on the footwork.
00:17:05But you'll get an eight when you deserve an eight.
00:17:08Alright.
00:17:10Alright, stay right here.
00:17:15Let the emotional Grand Canyon settle.
00:17:17Chris and Cheryl will get their scores after the break.
00:17:20And then, the supermodel whose super score slipped last week.
00:17:24And Petra and Dimitri quick-step back up the leaderboard to a song that celebrates Las Vegas.
00:17:30And will they hit the jackpot with the 1,000th dance?
00:17:34They're coming to the floor next live.
00:17:38Congratulations.
00:17:48Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars American Week.
00:17:52Before the break, Chris and Cheryl danced to Viennese Waltz.
00:17:55Now, Chris, we're at the midway point in the competition.
00:17:57And you're yet to have your moment at the top of the leaderboard.
00:18:00Do you think you did enough tonight to stand out?
00:18:02I just can't believe that we're halfway through already.
00:18:04It seems like only yesterday that I saw Cheryl for the first time.
00:18:06And screamed like a 13-year-old kid at a Justin Bieber concert.
00:18:09That's true.
00:18:10Cheryl!
00:18:11But, I mean, I hope, I hope.
00:18:13I mean, we feel really good about this.
00:18:14And we'll see what the judges have to say.
00:18:16All right.
00:18:17Let's hear from them right now.
00:18:18Scores, please.
00:18:20Ladies and gentlemen, the Carrie Ann Inaba.
00:18:24Nine.
00:18:27Len Goodman.
00:18:28Eight.
00:18:30Bruno Tognoli.
00:18:31Nine.
00:18:33That's 26 out of 30, which is your best score of the competition so far.
00:18:37We were so hoping Len said that, just to give you the eight.
00:18:39How do you feel about those scores?
00:18:40I feel great, because I know Len would...
00:18:42Yeah!
00:18:44I know Len wouldn't give me that unless he felt I deserve it.
00:18:46So, that means a lot to me.
00:18:47So, thank you, Cheryl.
00:18:49Congratulations, you guys.
00:18:50Yes!
00:18:51To use up all your votes, you can call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:18:54You get eight votes every way you want to use them.
00:18:56So, if you use up eight votes on your phone line, use another phone line.
00:18:59But vote for them tonight.
00:19:01Congratulations, you guys.
00:19:02Number nine, number nine.
00:19:03Tom.
00:19:04Thank you, Brooke.
00:19:05I thought you had an eight.
00:19:06I was such a kidder.
00:19:08Next up, the woman who topped the leaderboard two weeks ago.
00:19:12Can she reclaim the top spot tonight?
00:19:15Supermodel Petra Nemkova and her partner, Dimitri Chaplin.
00:19:24Last Monday saw sweet Petra turn passionate in a passo that left the judges panting.
00:19:30A woman that knows what she wants and how to get it.
00:19:37Being halfway through the competition seems quite surreal.
00:19:42When I saw you walking through the door and trying to do the first step,
00:19:46I had no idea we're going to be here right now.
00:19:49I never thought that would be possible.
00:19:52We're doing a quick step now.
00:19:53It's All-American week, and we're dancing to Elvis.
00:19:56Viva Las Vegas.
00:19:57When I was growing up, I didn't know who Elvis was.
00:20:00You're crazy.
00:20:02What do you mean you didn't know who Elvis was?
00:20:04Because I didn't hear his music.
00:20:06I grew up in Czech Republic under communism,
00:20:09and we didn't have Western influences.
00:20:12But that's the beauty of life.
00:20:14You never know where life takes you,
00:20:17and we had a very lucky journey, both of us.
00:20:20Absolutely.
00:20:21Okay, show me your best Elvis.
00:20:23He was kind of like...
00:20:26Ooh, I think we're going to have problems with this one.
00:20:29What are you saying?
00:20:33Quicker, quicker, quicker.
00:20:35Petri is struggling with the bounce in the quick step.
00:20:38I mean, the bounce is good for the jive,
00:20:40not so much for the quick step.
00:20:42Stop bouncing.
00:20:44I just feel like a kangaroo.
00:20:46And two, and three, and four, and five.
00:20:49With this quick step, I would like to say thank you to America
00:20:53for all the incredible opportunities I have received
00:20:56and the dreams I could accomplish because of them.
00:21:03CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:21:06Dancing the quick step, Petra Nemkova
00:21:09and her partner, Dmitriy Chaplin.
00:21:16Bright lights, city, gonna set my soul
00:21:20Gonna set my soul on fire
00:21:24Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn
00:21:29Get those stakes up higher
00:21:33There's a thousand pretty women waiting out there
00:21:38They're all living the devil may care
00:21:42And I'm just the devil with the love to spare
00:21:46So beaver, Las Vegas
00:21:50Beaver, Las Vegas
00:21:55Beaver, Las Vegas
00:21:57I'm turning day into night
00:21:59I'm turning night into daytime
00:22:01If you see it once, you'll never think the same again
00:22:11I'm gonna give it everything I've got
00:22:15Lady luck, please let the dice stay hot
00:22:19Let me shoot a seven with the ammo shot
00:22:24Beaver, Las Vegas
00:22:28Beaver, Beaver, Las Vegas
00:22:40CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:22:46Petra and Dmitriy!
00:22:49CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:22:53Going to try for an outright bribe on him?
00:22:55Yeah.
00:22:56Come on over.
00:22:57CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:23:01There you go.
00:23:03Okay.
00:23:04All right, Dmitriy, come on over here.
00:23:07All right, that's like leaving a saucer of milk out for a stray cat, you know.
00:23:11Carrie Ann?
00:23:12Yes.
00:23:13I'm sorry.
00:23:15Okay, Petra, you know, I love watching you.
00:23:17You've come so far.
00:23:18Your confidence has grown in the past few weeks,
00:23:20but tonight I feel like you took a bit of a step back
00:23:22because only because you had a few stumbles in your choreography
00:23:25and, like, sometimes your posture got...
00:23:27It's like you got ahead of yourself.
00:23:28You guys got a little out of sync and it's noticeable in the quick step.
00:23:31It's a really tough dance.
00:23:32All right, Len.
00:23:33Well, it was very, very...
00:23:35I didn't even say anything and you blew it.
00:23:38It was a very fast dance
00:23:40and I think you coped very well with the speed of the music
00:23:43and the difficulty of the steps.
00:23:46Your head... You've got a lovely neck.
00:23:49Your head sometimes gets a bit cranky.
00:23:51It's too far over to the left.
00:23:53You should tie it.
00:23:55I'm sorry.
00:23:56So you've just got to refine the dance,
00:23:58but I think you've got great potential.
00:24:00You've just got to work on little things to make it really good.
00:24:03And Bruno.
00:24:05You'll be glad to hear that I disagree with the two of them.
00:24:08First, this was very, very, very difficult and very, very, very fast
00:24:12and you were like the golden goddess of speed.
00:24:16You have lines that could rival Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini put together.
00:24:24Obviously, the handling sometimes a bit dodgy.
00:24:27There were a couple of footfalls, but the quality was very good.
00:24:32All right, there you go.
00:24:33Petra and Dimitri will get their scores after the break
00:24:36and still to come on American Week,
00:24:38the 1,000th competitive dance.
00:24:41We're coming right back live.
00:24:57Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars American Week.
00:24:59Before the break, Petra and Dimitri danced a quick step.
00:25:02You seemed a little disappointed by the judges' comments.
00:25:04How do you feel it went?
00:25:06Not by the judges' comments, just more by me
00:25:08because I was a little bit distracted.
00:25:10But either way, the song was thank you to everybody in America
00:25:13for a beautiful heart, for helping me and Happy Hearts Fund
00:25:17and changing many lives of children.
00:25:19So it just was a big thank you to everyone for the support
00:25:22and I missed out, but it's okay.
00:25:25Let's get your scores right now.
00:25:26Good luck, you guys.
00:25:29The judges have their scores.
00:25:31Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:25:33Seven.
00:25:34Len Goodman.
00:25:35Seven.
00:25:37Bruno Tongeli.
00:25:38Eight.
00:25:41All right, that's 22 out of 30.
00:25:43Now, you can help them stay in the competition,
00:25:45but only if you vote.
00:25:47So call, text, and log on to ABC.com
00:25:49and give them what they want.
00:25:51Don't forget to vote for your favorites tonight.
00:25:53Good luck, you guys.
00:25:55Tom.
00:25:56All right, thank you, Brooke.
00:25:57Tomorrow night, American Week comes to a star-spangled conclusion
00:26:01with our special guest, Toby Keith.
00:26:03That's at 9, 8 Central.
00:26:05Right now, tonight's competition continues with the man whose
00:26:08Paso Doble went from action-packed to six-pack last week,
00:26:13much to the delight of two of our judges.
00:26:16Will he wow them with a fully clothed foxtrot?
00:26:19Rapper and actor, Romeo, and his partner, Chelsea Hightower.
00:26:29Last Monday, Romeo impressed the judges with a Paso Doble full of passion.
00:26:36It was full of attack and intensity, and that I love.
00:26:42But he still found himself in the middle of the pack.
00:26:46I beat my dad.
00:26:48You did beat your dad.
00:26:49Dad, I beat you.
00:26:50My dad went four weeks on this show,
00:26:52and I think he got a whopping eight on the Paso.
00:26:55So I got a 23.
00:26:56So, Dad, how you like them cookies?
00:26:59I'm not just here to beat my dad.
00:27:01I'm here to take the title.
00:27:02I want to be number one.
00:27:03I love it.
00:27:04I want to be number one.
00:27:05I love that dedication.
00:27:07One, two, slow.
00:27:09Not too many people may associate swagger with the foxtrot,
00:27:12but since I'm the youngest on the show,
00:27:14I'm going to show you you can put a little bit of swag into anything.
00:27:17Nice. Now, swagger is good, but you have to make it 60s swagger.
00:27:21It's very Frank Sinatra, very, like, down cool, yeah?
00:27:25This week we are dancing to the American classic, New York, New York,
00:27:28and our strategy is to come out to honor the era
00:27:30while showcasing Romeo's personality and technique.
00:27:33It's really smooth, but don't bounce your arms.
00:27:35That's not refined.
00:27:36Good, good. Now make sure your shoulders are down.
00:27:38Really important to have nice posture here.
00:27:40I come from the hip-hop world, so my posture is usually like...
00:27:45But now my posture got to be like...
00:27:48It's a big difference.
00:27:50But I'm definitely working at it
00:27:52because we're in the halfway mark of the competition,
00:27:54and you see people stepping their game up.
00:27:57So I worked all week to make this perfect.
00:27:59That's it. Thank you. Beautiful.
00:28:01Can we do it 50 more times?
00:28:03Yeah. Let's go.
00:28:05I want to show the judges how serious I am about this competition.
00:28:09I want to show them that I deserve to be on the top.
00:28:15Dancing the Foxtrot, Romeo and his partner Chelsea Hightower.
00:28:19CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:28:27Start spreading the news
00:28:31I'm leaving today
00:28:35I want to be a part of it
00:28:39New York, New York
00:28:43These vagabond shoes
00:28:47Are longing to stray
00:28:51Right through the very heart of it
00:28:55New York, New York
00:28:59I want to wake up in the city
00:29:03That doesn't sleep
00:29:06And find I'm king of the hill
00:29:11Top of the heap
00:29:14These little town blues
00:29:18Are melting away
00:29:22I'll make a brand new start of it
00:29:26In old New York
00:29:30If I can make it there
00:29:34I'll make it anywhere
00:29:38It's up to you
00:29:40New York, New York
00:29:46CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
00:29:54Romeo and Chelsea!
00:29:56Lot of fun.
00:30:01Okay.
00:30:05And they clean up after themselves.
00:30:07Len, let's start with you this time.
00:30:09Well, I thought the parts in hold had control
00:30:11and the parts that you weren't together
00:30:14had a lot of flair about it.
00:30:16There's still bits and pieces that I'm not 100% happy with
00:30:20but I think you're on the right road
00:30:22because you're a very charming chap
00:30:24and you always come out and do a good job.
00:30:26Bruno?
00:30:27Oh, yes, you did have swagger
00:30:29and spunk and full of flavour.
00:30:32I never seen a Foxtrot so cheeky
00:30:37and so well danced
00:30:39because you did all of that
00:30:40and you maintained the style of the dance.
00:30:42Well done, my darling.
00:30:44There he is.
00:30:46I remember week one
00:30:48when you were so resisting the ballroom
00:30:50and you didn't want to go there
00:30:51and you were like,
00:30:52no, I'm not going to do it, it's not cool.
00:30:53That was so cool and so sophisticated.
00:30:56You have your own unique style
00:30:58that I just love watching.
00:30:59I've never seen anybody approach the ballroom the way you are.
00:31:02Great job, Chelsea. Good job.
00:31:04All right.
00:31:05Romeo and Chelsea will find out
00:31:06what should be pretty good scores after the break
00:31:08and one of our stars will perform
00:31:10our 1,000th competitive dance.
00:31:13Will it be the woman who slipped out of her shoe,
00:31:15the woman who slipped to the bottom
00:31:17or the leaderboard favourite?
00:31:19Find out live.
00:31:23Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars, American Week.
00:31:27Before the break,
00:31:28Romeo and Chelsea danced a foxtrot.
00:31:30Now, Romeo, you're a really strong dancer,
00:31:32but you're yet to top the leaderboard.
00:31:33Do you feel like the judges have been too tough on you?
00:31:35You know, they've definitely been tough on me,
00:31:37but that's what I love about the judges.
00:31:39They push me and make me want to go harder.
00:31:41And I have to say,
00:31:42the judges have been really tough on me,
00:31:44but I've learned a lot from them.
00:31:46I've learned a lot from them.
00:31:47I've learned a lot from them.
00:31:48I've learned a lot from them.
00:31:49I've learned a lot from them.
00:31:50They push me and make me want to go harder.
00:31:52And actually, I wanted to dedicate this dance
00:31:54to one of my friend's mother.
00:31:56She was diagnosed with cancer last week.
00:31:58She watched me every week,
00:31:59and she said she was going to bring a TV in the hospital
00:32:02and make sure she watched it.
00:32:03So, to Cindy Schechter, this is for you.
00:32:05You're in our prayers.
00:32:07All right.
00:32:08Let's get your scores right now.
00:32:09Good luck, you guys.
00:32:11Will the judges please reveal their scores?
00:32:14Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:32:16Nine.
00:32:18Lynn Goodman.
00:32:20Bruno Chung.
00:32:21Nine.
00:32:2226 out of 30,
00:32:23which is your highest score so far,
00:32:25and it also puts you in the lead with Chris.
00:32:27How do you feel about that?
00:32:28It feels amazing.
00:32:29It shows you that God does work in mysterious ways,
00:32:32and now I'm dancing.
00:32:33I'm dancing for America now.
00:32:34You know, I really love doing this,
00:32:35and I want to show them that.
00:32:36I'm going to continue to work hard.
00:32:37Congratulations, you guys.
00:32:38Good for you.
00:32:39They want you to use up all your votes on them right now.
00:32:42You can do that now,
00:32:43or you can wait until the end of the show
00:32:45when you can have an opportunity
00:32:47to see all of the dancers and use your votes wisely.
00:32:49Thanks, Tom.
00:32:50All right, Brooke.
00:32:51Thanks.
00:32:52Next on the floor,
00:32:53the couple who dropped from the top of the leaderboard
00:32:55to second place last week.
00:32:57However, going into this week of competition,
00:32:59for you statisticians,
00:33:01they've accumulated more judges' points
00:33:03than any other couple.
00:33:05Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward
00:33:08and his partner, Kim Johnson.
00:33:11Mm-hmm.
00:33:14Last week, Hines received a standing ovation
00:33:17for his explosive passo.
00:33:22Okay, you were in the zone, my friend.
00:33:27We did great with the passo,
00:33:29but for next week,
00:33:30do you have, like, a sexy, smoldering side?
00:33:34No, not really.
00:33:351, 2, 3, grab me.
00:33:38It's American night,
00:33:39and Kim and I are doing the rumba.
00:33:40Too proud to be an American.
00:33:42I gotta be Ralph this week.
00:33:43Ralph did such a great job on his rumba,
00:33:45I wanted to make mine just as impressive.
00:33:48Inspiration, Ralph.
00:33:49Appreciate it, homie.
00:33:50See if I can kill it like you did.
00:33:53Take one step slow, and I'm gonna run to you.
00:33:56You want me to hug you like this?
00:33:58Or like this?
00:34:00The rumba is normally sexy and raunchy,
00:34:02but because it's American night and we have a patriotic song,
00:34:05we're making our dance a little more romantic.
00:34:07Gentle, like, you're coming back home to me,
00:34:11instead of, like, that wasn't gentle.
00:34:13Circle and throw me on the ground.
00:34:16Oh, I'm sorry.
00:34:18I'm kind of like a caveman in the rumba
00:34:20because I've dropped Kim a couple of times,
00:34:22we headbutt each other a couple of times,
00:34:24she punched me in the ribs.
00:34:26Oh!
00:34:27Right now, rumba isn't looking too romantic.
00:34:29All right, try it again this time,
00:34:30and let's put your heart and soul into this one.
00:34:34All right.
00:34:35Take me close, and then gently drop me.
00:34:39There's always a new leader every week.
00:34:41No-one's safe in this competition,
00:34:43but I got my eye on a prize.
00:34:44It's all about the dance routine,
00:34:46so I really got to go out there and give it all I got.
00:34:48Oh, look at you, Mr Romantic, I love it!
00:34:51Ha-ha-ha!
00:34:57Dancing the rumba,
00:34:59Hines Ward and his partner Kim Johnson.
00:35:06If tomorrow all the things were gone
00:35:10I'd work for all my life
00:35:13And I had to start again
00:35:16With just my family by my side
00:35:19I'd thank my lucky stars
00:35:21To be living here today
00:35:24Because the flag still stands for freedom
00:35:27And they can't take that away
00:35:33And I'm proud to be an American
00:35:35Where at least I know I'm free
00:35:38And I won't forget the man who died
00:35:41And who gave that right to me
00:35:43I'll gladly stand up, step by step
00:35:46To defend our here today
00:35:49Because there ain't no doubt
00:35:51I love this land
00:35:53God bless the USA
00:36:00And I'm proud to be an American
00:36:02Where at least I know I'm free
00:36:05And I won't forget the man who died
00:36:08And who gave that right to me
00:36:10I'll gladly stand up, step by step
00:36:13To defend our here today
00:36:16Because there ain't no doubt
00:36:18I love this land
00:36:20God bless the USA
00:36:50An officer and a gentleman.
00:36:53Ease of move, musicality,
00:36:56and just the right amount of sensuality
00:36:59to make all the ladies swoon.
00:37:02Well played.
00:37:04All right, let's carry on.
00:37:06Guys, you make it look so easy.
00:37:08I'm getting worried because it's, like,
00:37:10looking so easy for you, but that's a good thing.
00:37:12You have the best hip action I have seen
00:37:15in a long time.
00:37:17Maybe I shouldn't say that.
00:37:18But you like...
00:37:20Well, I like the hip action. It was very good.
00:37:22And it was very romantic.
00:37:23It's tough to too proud to be American
00:37:25and then the most sensual dance of the night.
00:37:27Good job.
00:37:28Len, how far would you go?
00:37:30Well, I wouldn't go that far.
00:37:31But anyway, what I like, it's not forced.
00:37:33It has a naturalness about it.
00:37:35It's got an ease and an elegance,
00:37:37which is charming.
00:37:39And I think probably for me,
00:37:41that's your best dance, so well done.
00:37:43Congratulations.
00:37:44Three for three.
00:37:45Hans and Kim have some scores
00:37:47coming up after the break.
00:37:48Could we have a three-way tie here?
00:37:50We'll find out.
00:37:51And then our American Week dancers
00:37:53will continue with the three women
00:37:55who had everyone talking last week,
00:37:57for better or worse.
00:37:58Which one of them will perform
00:38:00the 1,000th dance?
00:38:03I'm okay with breaking every single roll.
00:38:06It's funny you say that,
00:38:07because I was going to keep this one straight edge.
00:38:09Mark.
00:38:10Give it some power, like...
00:38:12All right.
00:38:13Go.
00:38:16She said,
00:38:17it's almost like you're afraid of elegance.
00:38:19I'm not afraid of elegance.
00:38:33Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:38:35It's American Week.
00:38:36Before the break,
00:38:37Hans and Kim danced a romantic rumba.
00:38:39Now, I heard that you were rehearsing
00:38:40at home this week without Kim.
00:38:42Yes.
00:38:43How did you manage that?
00:38:44Yeah, I was making out pillow love.
00:38:45I was slinging my pillow everywhere.
00:38:47But Kim and I,
00:38:48during the week of practice,
00:38:49it was so unromantic.
00:38:51Yeah, it was an unromantic week of rehearsals,
00:38:53because we kept bumping into each other.
00:38:55We were trying to be romantic,
00:38:57but it just wasn't working.
00:38:58So I'm glad it actually worked tonight.
00:39:00Well, let's see if you fooled the judges tonight.
00:39:02Here's your scores, guys.
00:39:03Good luck.
00:39:05Ladies and gentlemen,
00:39:06the judges' scores.
00:39:08Carrie-Anne Inaba.
00:39:10Nine.
00:39:11Lynn Goodman.
00:39:12Nine.
00:39:14Bruno Tone-Gillen.
00:39:15Nine.
00:39:17That's 27 out of 30,
00:39:19which is your highest score ever,
00:39:20and also the highest score of the night.
00:39:22How do you guys feel?
00:39:23That is so crazy.
00:39:24That is so...
00:39:25I never would have imagined that.
00:39:26You did pull out the romance.
00:39:27Yeah, I did.
00:39:28Congratulations, you guys.
00:39:30Don't assume that anyone is safe
00:39:31on judges' scores alone.
00:39:32They want you to use up all of your votes right now.
00:39:34Don't wait until the phone lines are closed.
00:39:36You know what to do.
00:39:37Give them what they want right now.
00:39:39Call, text, and log on to ABC.com.
00:39:41Good luck, you guys.
00:39:42Congratulations.
00:39:43Wow, with scores like that,
00:39:44there's a market for the Heinz Ward dancing pillow.
00:39:47Last week, we learned once and for all
00:39:50that this next woman has a shoelace.
00:39:52It's TV and movie star, Kirstie Alley,
00:39:54and her partner, Maxim Shmerkovsky.
00:39:57♪♪
00:40:02Last Monday, Kirstie lost a shoe,
00:40:04but got right back up to complete her wants.
00:40:08Seven.
00:40:09Last week, we survived,
00:40:11but I don't want anyone to have any doubts.
00:40:13I'm in this to win this.
00:40:15Everyone says there's no frontrunner.
00:40:18I want to be the frontrunner.
00:40:21You want to be the frontrunner?
00:40:23Mm-hmm.
00:40:24Why wouldn't I?
00:40:25You're my frontrunner.
00:40:29Is that slow?
00:40:30Our dance this week is Foxtrot,
00:40:32and we have an amazing rock-and-roll song,
00:40:34American Woman.
00:40:35Give it some power, like...
00:40:37All right.
00:40:38Go!
00:40:39Thank you!
00:40:40Thank you!
00:40:41The one thing you can never accuse Max of
00:40:43is being subtle in what he wants.
00:40:46I will count you in. Ready?
00:40:47I don't know what you want me to do!
00:40:49I'm showing you! Just follow me!
00:40:52I'm being a damn mirror!
00:40:55Okay, ready?
00:40:57Don't freak out.
00:41:01Okay.
00:41:02I can't believe that we are halfway through.
00:41:04From here on out, it needs to be excellence.
00:41:07Seriously, excellence.
00:41:09For the last two weeks, we sort of screwed up.
00:41:11We're not talking about that.
00:41:12I know, and I have to talk about it
00:41:13because I think we need someone else's opinion.
00:41:15Mm-hmm.
00:41:16So I've taken the liberty,
00:41:18don't kill me,
00:41:19to bring in a dance doctor.
00:41:23Hi, I'm a dance doctor. How are you?
00:41:25Very good.
00:41:26Good to see you.
00:41:27Okay, I understand there's been some problems.
00:41:28Let me start with this.
00:41:29You're fantastic, and you are the bomb.
00:41:31Okay, let's start with that.
00:41:33Okay, there's been two problems.
00:41:34I understand there's a fall,
00:41:35and there's been a shoe minus a foot,
00:41:37or a foot minus a shoe.
00:41:38First advice, don't drag her so long.
00:41:40Okay, secondly,
00:41:41what kind of shoes were you wearing?
00:41:43Manolo Blahnik.
00:41:44Too fancy, too fragile.
00:41:45Let's try a sneaker.
00:41:47I suggest perhaps a high top.
00:41:49Okay, now let me ask you some question.
00:41:51What's going on here?
00:41:52What do you mean?
00:41:53Romantically, what's going on here?
00:41:55Nothing.
00:41:56Well, this is the problem.
00:41:57The audience senses that.
00:41:59There's romantic tension.
00:42:00Okay, so why don't you go off
00:42:01and do something about it,
00:42:02and come back,
00:42:03and let's see if there's a difference.
00:42:05Come on, let's go.
00:42:06Let's go.
00:42:08Okay.
00:42:13See, my work is done.
00:42:15All right, my last piece of advice.
00:42:17Do you tell her you love her enough?
00:42:19I do, but in Russian.
00:42:21Oh, Russian.
00:42:22Well, that's not gonna work this week,
00:42:23because this week's America Week,
00:42:24so let's do it the American way.
00:42:26All right, thank you.
00:42:27I'll send you the bill,
00:42:28and we'll talk soon.
00:42:30All right, ciao.
00:42:33Now that we've had a session
00:42:34with the dance doctor,
00:42:35the bad juju is gone,
00:42:36and with this dance,
00:42:38we are going to create magic.
00:42:46Dancing the Foxtrot,
00:42:47Kirstie Alley and her partner,
00:42:49Maxim Chmerkovsky.
00:43:01American woman
00:43:03Stay away from me
00:43:06American woman
00:43:08Mama, let me be
00:43:11Don't come running round my door
00:43:14I don't wanna see your face no more
00:43:16Got more important things to do
00:43:19Spend my life growing old with you
00:43:21Now woman
00:43:23Stay away
00:43:25American woman
00:43:27This is what I say
00:43:31Don-ka-don-ka-don
00:43:33Don-ka-don-ka-don
00:43:35Don-ka-don-ka-don
00:43:37Don-ka-don-ka-don
00:43:40American woman
00:43:42Get away from me
00:43:45American woman
00:43:47Mama, let me be
00:43:50I gotta go
00:43:52I gotta get away
00:43:54Baby, I gotta go
00:43:56I wanna fly away
00:43:59American woman
00:44:01Said get away
00:44:04American woman
00:44:06This is what I say
00:44:09Don't come running round my door
00:44:12I don't wanna see your face no more
00:44:15Got more important things to do
00:44:17Spend my life growing old with you
00:44:20Now woman
00:44:22Stay away
00:44:24American woman
00:44:26Don't come running round my door
00:44:28I don't wanna see your face no more
00:44:31Got more important things to do
00:44:33Spend my life growing old with you
00:44:35Now woman
00:44:38All right, you two
00:44:46There you go, I love it
00:44:49Let's see if they did as well
00:44:52Carrie-Anne, we'll start with you
00:44:54Now that was a different take on a foxtrot
00:44:57But it absolutely suited you
00:44:59It was bold, it was ambitious
00:45:01It was a little borderline crazy
00:45:03But I swear, you know
00:45:05Putting those elements, you did it
00:45:07I think it was magical
00:45:09And I think it was your best dance ever
00:45:11Here we go
00:45:13Land
00:45:17Yes, hop right in
00:45:19Well it had attitude
00:45:21There was lots of basic steps which I like to see
00:45:24But the overall feel of it for me
00:45:26It wasn't my cup of tea
00:45:28You say you're looking for excellence
00:45:31And there was very little excellence
00:45:33About the whole thing
00:45:35All right, Bruno
00:45:37For the American woman and the Russian gigolo
00:45:40The Cold War is definitely over
00:45:45I didn't know you were so dirty
00:45:47And I like it, oh yes, both of you
00:45:49Are you taking direct bookings by the way?
00:45:51Or do I have to go through an agent?
00:45:53I'm expensive
00:45:55I can afford it
00:45:57And give me that doctor by the way
00:46:00All right guys, head on over there
00:46:02Yes, there you go
00:46:04Tomorrow night
00:46:06American Week results show

00:46:15The ballroom will be transformed
00:46:17Into New York City, less the gridlock
00:46:19That and more at 9, 8 central
00:46:21Right after the Emmy winning
00:46:22Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution
00:46:24Brooke
00:46:25Thanks Tom
00:46:26Now you gotta be somewhat relieved
00:46:27No mishaps tonight
00:46:28Is the spell broken?
00:46:29I'm so glad
00:46:30Really at the end I was like
00:46:31Oh no, shoes fell
00:46:33My top thought
00:46:34Yeah, well
00:46:35Well I don't think any of the ladies
00:46:36Are disappointed in Max tonight
00:46:37Whose idea was the lack of costume here, Christine?
00:46:40This was my idea because
00:46:41You know I grew up in the 60s and 70s
00:46:43I can imagine the 70s so
00:46:44Yeah, yeah, yeah
00:46:45I had to go by what she says
00:46:46But James Morse and Jimi Hendrix say
00:46:48None of them wore shirts
00:46:49Rightfully so
00:46:50Okay, all right
00:46:51Let's get you guys some scores
00:46:53Good luck guys
00:46:55Ladies and gentlemen

00:47:12John Travolta

00:47:15What advice did he give us, really?
00:47:17Really
00:47:18Just have fun, just have fun

00:47:31Don't wait until the phone lines are closed
00:47:33Good luck guys
00:47:34Thank you
00:47:35Tomi
00:47:36Thanks Brooke
00:47:37We are getting closer
00:47:38To our landmark 1000th dance
00:47:41Could it be our next star?
00:47:42Last week she wound up at the bottom of the leaderboard
00:47:45Frustrating the judges, her partner and herself
00:47:48Will she rise above it all tonight?
00:47:50Reality star Kendra Wilkinson
00:47:52And her partner Louis Van Amstel
00:47:56Mm-hmm
00:47:59Last week Kendra lost her confidence
00:48:01In a difficult Viennese waltz
00:48:03That disappointed the judges
00:48:08Kendra, you messed it up
00:48:10And you know that
00:48:12It's like you're afraid of elegance
00:48:14I just don't care about it
00:48:16And she tumbled to the bottom of the leaderboard
00:48:19I must say I was quite disappointed with your comment
00:48:21I'll be honest
00:48:23Because I know you care
00:48:24I just feel like sometimes
00:48:26The whole elegant word is like
00:48:30I just feel like I'm being attacked
00:48:32You know, I just feel like
00:48:35I don't know
00:48:36She said
00:48:37It's almost like you're afraid of elegance
00:48:40I'm not afraid of elegance
00:48:42Like that had nothing to do with
00:48:44That minute and 30 seconds
00:48:46Kerianne kind of made me feel like trash
00:48:48When she was judging me
00:48:49And saying that I was afraid of elegance
00:48:51For me elegance is fake
00:48:53It's so fake for me
00:48:54If she pointed out the way I was holding you
00:48:57And said like that hold
00:48:59Wasn't elegant enough for me
00:49:00Then I understand
00:49:02Kendra's very sensitive
00:49:04To the sexy and elegant issue
00:49:06But she has to understand
00:49:07That the judges are actually trying to help her
00:49:10You separate dance from life
00:49:12And you can't
00:49:13You think this is elegance
00:49:14You did everything beautifully externally
00:49:16But internally you can see
00:49:18That you have a smile
00:49:19But you look nervous
00:49:20After talking it out with Louis today
00:49:22I realized that
00:49:23Kerianne was trying to mean well
00:49:25You know, I'm kind of lacking confidence
00:49:28I need some work on that
00:49:29You just gotta put your mind on it
00:49:31And go over the top
00:49:32Show your emotion
00:49:33Take the break off
00:49:34And move
00:49:36I'm leaving the past behind me
00:49:37And I'm seeing this Foxtrot
00:49:39As a fresh start
00:49:411, 2, 3, 4
00:49:43For American Night
00:49:44Our song is Yankee Doodle
00:49:46It's all about being proud
00:49:48Supermom!
00:49:49Thank you so much America
00:49:51For giving me a second chance
00:49:52I promise you
00:49:53I'm putting my heart and soul
00:49:55Into this Foxtrot
00:49:56I won't let you down
00:49:58Yeah!
00:49:59That's a fun dance
00:50:04We can now reveal
00:50:06That the landmark
00:50:071,000th competitive dance
00:50:09Will be performed by Kendra and Louis
00:50:19We're nothing if not understated
00:50:23We'll be right back with that dance
00:50:25After this, live
00:50:38Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars
00:50:40Before the break we revealed
00:50:41That Kendra and Louis
00:50:42Will have the honor of performing
00:50:44The 1,000th competitive dance
00:50:47Here it is
00:50:50Dancing the Foxtrot
00:50:51Our 1,000th competitive dance

00:51:06I'm a Yankee Doodle Dad

00:52:28Kendra and Louis
00:52:30Are Foxtrot and Flag
00:52:34It's over. It's fun.
00:52:37Alright, Mr. Goodman.
00:52:39Well, good news.
00:52:41It's much better than last week.
00:52:43You came out and enjoyed yourself.
00:52:45It was fun and it was entertaining.
00:52:47Well done.
00:52:49Alright, Bruno.
00:52:50Cute, sweet as apple pie,
00:52:53and much more in character.
00:52:54One little, I have to say this.
00:52:56I can still see your thought.
00:52:58When you're performing on stage or on camera,
00:53:00you have to be in it on the moment.
00:53:02And I can see you thinking it.
00:53:04You have to stop that.
00:53:06Okay.
00:53:07Alright, Kerianne.
00:53:08I completely disagree with you this week.
00:53:09Completely.
00:53:10This is the most confident I've ever seen you.
00:53:13And I know last week was hard to hear.
00:53:15Sometimes these comments are hard to hear.
00:53:17I totally appreciate that.
00:53:18But whenever we're commenting,
00:53:19we are always trying to help you.
00:53:21And look what it did.
00:53:22Because this week, your confidence was there.
00:53:24You were like a fighter.
00:53:25You're a fighter.
00:53:26And it was the most patriotic dance of the night.
00:53:29Alright.
00:53:30There you go.
00:53:31Congratulations, you guys.
00:53:32Head on over there for your scores.
00:53:34By the way, joining us in the ballroom tonight,
00:53:36two of the stars of the hit comedy,
00:53:38Better With You,
00:53:39Debra Jo Rupp and Kurt Fuller.
00:53:42Better With You airs Wednesday at 8.30,
00:53:447.30 Central.
00:53:46Tomorrow night, on our result show,
00:53:48we've got music from Toby Keith.
00:53:50That's tomorrow at 9, 8 Central.
00:53:52Brooke.
00:53:53Thanks, Tom.
00:53:54Great job, you guys.
00:53:55Now that you've had a week to process what Kerianne said,
00:53:57how do you feel about it now?
00:53:58Oh, man.
00:53:59Oh, man.
00:54:00You know, I always knew she meant well.
00:54:02It's just that comment at that time,
00:54:04you know, that wasn't the right time of the month.
00:54:06So, but now it is.
00:54:08Now it is.
00:54:09We're good.
00:54:10Kendra, when you first came into this competition,
00:54:12did you have any idea that you would be so emotionally invested?
00:54:15Because this show brings up a lot of stuff.
00:54:17I'm so honest at all times.
00:54:18Yeah, sorry.
00:54:19I guess I should hide a little bit more.
00:54:21Are you surprised at how emotional you are in this competition?
00:54:23I'm very surprised.
00:54:24I am.
00:54:25Like, I really am.
00:54:26I'm putting my heart and soul into this, so.
00:54:27Alright.
00:54:28Let's see the scores.
00:54:30The judges have their scores.
00:54:32Kerianne Inaba.
00:54:34Eight.
00:54:36Len Goodman.
00:54:37Seven.
00:54:39Bruno Tognoli.
00:54:40Seven.
00:54:41Alright, that's 22 out of 30.
00:54:43Now, Louis, in rehearsals this week, we saw you in therapist mode.
00:54:46Do you feel like that's one of the roles that you have to play as a pro?
00:54:49Absolutely.
00:54:50Especially with me.
00:54:51Yeah, no, it's important because movement is so honest.
00:54:54You can't fake behind it.
00:54:56And she is not fake at all.
00:54:58So, you know what she feels.
00:55:00So, this week, we had to have a little heart-to-heart talk.
00:55:03Alright.
00:55:04She did her best one tonight.
00:55:05I'm really proud.
00:55:06Good luck, you guys.
00:55:07Congrats.
00:55:08Alright, everybody.
00:55:09They're counting on you at home.
00:55:10They have performed the 1,000th dance,
00:55:12but that doesn't mean that they get a pass tomorrow night.
00:55:14So, call, text, get online, vote for them if they're your favorites.
00:55:17Good luck, you guys.
00:55:18Tom?
00:55:19Alright, Brooke, thank you.
00:55:20Our American Week competition night wraps up
00:55:22with the woman who took the top of the leaderboard for the first time last week.
00:55:26The Times and Kim currently in the lead with 27.
00:55:30Can she make a return visit tonight?
00:55:32Find out when Chelsea and Mark dance right after this.
00:55:36Oh, she's got that fighting face.
00:55:38Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:55:40Last week, this couple performed a spellbinding waltz
00:55:43to the theme from Harry Potter
00:55:45and flew to the top of the leaderboard.
00:55:48Will they work their wizardry again tonight?
00:55:51Disney star Chelsea Kane and her partner, Mark Ballas.
00:55:56Last week, this couple performed a spellbinding waltz
00:55:59to the theme from Harry Potter
00:56:01and flew to the top of the leaderboard.
00:56:03Will they work their wizardry again tonight?
00:56:06Disney star Chelsea Kane and her partner, Mark Ballas.
00:56:15Last Monday, Chelsea and Mark waltzed into the top spot
00:56:18with their magical performance.
00:56:22I can't believe we're on top of the leaderboard.
00:56:24That's awesome.
00:56:25I have to go work my ass off.
00:56:28We're about halfway through now.
00:56:30I love that.
00:56:31Also, we have the samba.
00:56:33It's a party dance.
00:56:34We are dancing to Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA.
00:56:37There's three things I like.
00:56:39The USA, partying, and Miley Cyrus.
00:56:42This is the dance that I'm okay with
00:56:44breaking every single rule that we're allowed to.
00:56:47It's funny you say that,
00:56:48because I was going to keep this one straight edge.
00:56:51Mark.
00:56:52I'm dead serious.
00:56:54Slow.
00:56:55Turn your feet out.
00:56:56This is not turned out.
00:56:58That's turned out. That's it.
00:56:59I want to keep the samba traditional
00:57:01because the competition is so close right now,
00:57:03and I think that good technique is the only way to stay on top.
00:57:07There you go.
00:57:08I'm freaking out. It feels so awkward.
00:57:10Why does it feel so weird?
00:57:11It's the hardest one.
00:57:12Samba is technically the most difficult
00:57:14of all the Latin dances,
00:57:15so if Chelsea can find a way to get into the technique,
00:57:18she's definitely going to knock her scores up this week.
00:57:21You look uncoordinated otherwise.
00:57:23Then turn and step.
00:57:25You got it right.
00:57:26That was correct.
00:57:27I hope to stay at the top of the leaderboard,
00:57:29but more importantly,
00:57:30I just want to prove with the samba
00:57:32that last week wasn't an accident.
00:57:38Dancing the samba,
00:57:40Chelsea Kane and her partner Mark Ballas.
00:57:53Welcome to the land of finesse.
00:57:56Am I going to fit in?
00:57:58Tip in the cap, here I am for the first time.
00:58:01Look to my right and I see the Hollywood sign.
00:58:03This is all so crazy.
00:58:05Everybody seems so famous.
00:58:07My tummy's turning and I'm feeling kind of homesick.
00:58:10Too much pressure and I'm nervous.
00:58:12That's when the taxi man turned on the radio
00:58:14and a Jay-Z song was on.
00:58:16And a Jay-Z song was on.
00:58:18And a Jay-Z song was on.
00:58:21So I put my hands up to play my song
00:58:23I'm gonna fly away
00:58:26Down on my head like yeah
00:58:28Movin' my hips like yeah
00:58:30I got my hands up to play my song
00:58:33You know I'm gonna be okay
00:58:35Yeah
00:58:37It's a party in the USA
00:58:39I put my hands up to play my song
00:58:42I'm gonna fly away
00:58:44Down on my head like yeah
00:58:47Movin' my hips like yeah
00:58:49I got my hands up to play my song
00:58:51You know I'm gonna be okay
00:58:53Yeah
00:58:55It's a party in the USA
00:58:58Yeah
00:59:00It's a party in the USA
00:59:03Thank you!
00:59:12Chelsea and Mark!
00:59:14You okay?
00:59:16A little too much party there?
00:59:18Too much party.
00:59:19Yeah, there you go.
00:59:21Alright, great finish to a great night.
00:59:24Bruno, let's start.
00:59:26You had all the euphoric, positive energy of America
00:59:31and the sizzle and excitement of Brazil.
00:59:35The best of both worlds.
00:59:37And you are so clean.
00:59:39Your placement is so good.
00:59:41You're so tight.
00:59:42You're really, really good dancers, my darling.
00:59:45You really are.
00:59:46There he is.
00:59:47I agree.
00:59:48You know what?
00:59:49You guys dance so well together.
00:59:50You match your moves perfectly.
00:59:51Tonight, I'm really looking at how the performance comes together
00:59:54because it's not easy matching these dances with these songs.
00:59:57I think this was fantastic, again.
01:00:00Go for the trifecta.
01:00:01He's smiling!
01:00:02Yum, yum.
01:00:03What a bum.
01:00:04Honestly, this was a party.
01:00:06And I'm not talking Tupperware party.
01:00:08This was real good fun.
01:00:10What a pity.
01:00:12You messed up right at the end on those running promenades.
01:00:15Otherwise, it was right out there.
01:00:17Well done.
01:00:18Alright.
01:00:19Bravo, you guys.
01:00:20Congratulations.
01:00:21Head on over to your stores.
01:00:22Let's not forget the fine folks who've been providing all of these patriotic tunes.
01:00:26Our fantastic band, our singers, and our musical director, Harold Wheeler.
01:00:31Great job, guys.
01:00:32Brooke.
01:00:35Thanks, Tom.
01:00:36Great way to close the show, you guys.
01:00:39Now, let me ask you.
01:00:41Last week, you topped the leaderboard.
01:00:42Does that play a bit of a mind game on you to remain in that spot?
01:00:45I mean, I think we just get out there and do the best we can every night
01:00:49because week to week, between injuries and voting,
01:00:52there are so many things that play into it.
01:00:54So, we always just try to dance it like it could be our last, you know?
01:00:58Now that we're halfway through this competition,
01:01:00who do you feel is your biggest threat out here tonight?
01:01:02I think everyone in this room is a threat at this point.
01:01:05Everyone is so talented and the competition has been up and down.
01:01:08So, I love everyone and I hate you all at the same time.
01:01:13Alright, guys.
01:01:14Good luck.
01:01:15Let's get your scores right now.
01:01:17Will the judges please reveal their scores?

01:01:28Nine.
01:01:30That's 26 out of 30.

01:01:37and we're having a blast.
01:01:38Mondays are so fun to be with everybody

01:01:45We're having a great time.
01:01:46You guys always come out here every week with a different story.
01:01:48So, what was your story this week?
01:01:50This week, we were going All-American Route 66.
01:01:54Hard-working blue-collar guy meets All-American girl,
01:01:57which is just me and a sparkly American flag.
01:02:00And, yeah, that was kind of our story.
01:02:02What's the vibe like back here having to go last
01:02:04and watch everybody else dance before you?
01:02:06It's definitely scary.
01:02:07I mean, everyone this week has done an amazing job.
01:02:09This has been a challenge, I think, for all of us to do American Week,
01:02:11especially with Brazilian dances.
01:02:13And it's been great to watch everybody
01:02:15and we had a great time out there.
01:02:16Good luck, you guys.
