00:00Hello, well it's been a rather drab Saturday and we've got further spells of heavy rain

00:04moving through tonight before something a little bit drier and brighter for some of

00:08us on Sunday.

00:09So having a look at the bigger picture, we've got this area of load pressure moving its

00:13way through, a real squeeze in those isobars indicating some strong and gusty winds especially

00:18across Scotland.

00:19Then as we go into bank holiday Monday, another area of load pressure developing but perhaps

00:25coming in a little bit later on in the day.

00:28So back to this evening and overnight, we're turning increasingly unsettled with heavy

00:33spells of rain pushing north and eastwards, it's going to be most persistent and heaviest

00:38across Scotland accompanied by some gusty winds and coastal gales in the west.

00:44In between there will be some clear spells but generally temperatures holding up tonight,

00:49so another mild start to Sunday morning.

00:52So an unsettled start across Scotland with heavy spells of rain pushing its way north and eastwards

00:58behind that it's going to be a case of sunny spells and scattered showers.

01:03Now some of these showers could be heavy at times, perhaps with the odd rumble of thunder

01:07and some hail mixed in, especially across Northern Ireland, Northern England and Scotland.

01:14But across central parts of England towards the south east, that's where we'll see plenty

01:18of dry and fine weather.

01:21So actually a much better day to come here on Sunday compared to Saturday.

01:26But with a slight shift in the wind direction, actually it's going to be feeling fresher out

01:30there.

01:31But we'll still see highs of up to 20 or 22 degrees where we see the lengthiest sunny spells.

01:38So as we go through Sunday evening it's a similar picture, we'll hold on to the clearest skies

01:43across the south east of England, but otherwise it is a case of clear spells and also some

01:49frequent blustery showers still that could be on the heavy side.

01:54But otherwise temperatures will fall a little bit overnight, but otherwise 7 to 10 degrees,

01:59so just a little bit more of a fresher start to Bank Holiday Monday.

02:03Now Bank Holiday Monday we'll see plenty of sunshine first thing across central areas

02:08of England and towards the south east, but elsewhere that cloud will bubble up, we'll

02:12see showers developing once again, and then across the far south and west it will actually

02:17be turning increasingly cloudy and you can see this next area of low pressure arriving.

02:22A bit of uncertainty on the exact position of this, so do take note that there could be

02:27some details still to cover in the forecast, but otherwise it could become increasingly unsettled

02:32across Northern Ireland later on Bank Holiday Monday.

02:36Otherwise similar in terms of temperatures, but in any sunny spots across the far south and

02:41east, highs of 18 or 20 degrees.
