It was heartbreak in Dublin.

This as the West Indies were thrashed by Ireland by 124 runs in the first of three ODIs.

The Irish got to 303 for 6 from 50 overs, with Andy Balbirnie scoring 112.

In reply, West Indies were bundled out for 179 in the 35th over, with new Test captain Roston Chase scoring 55 in vain.

00:00Ireland were put in a bat by the Westernies in the first ODI in Dublin,
00:05with openers Andy Balbirni and captain Paul Stirling giving them a solid start.
00:12The two put on a partnership of 109 in 22.1 overs.
00:20Stirling made 54, but Balbirni was the main contributor with the bat.
00:23Giving him good support was Harry Tector during the stand of 98.
00:36Balbirni reached his 100 with a single. It was his ninth turn in Wanda Internationals.
00:41He was out for 112 and Tector went for 56, with Alzari Joseph removing both.
00:56Matthew Ford was expensive, taking 3 for 68. Ireland eventually closed on a daunting 303 for 6 from 50 overs.
01:04In reply, the Westinies had it very tough out in the middle.
01:08A little straighter again, this is chipped, and it'll be out the second wicket.
01:13It soon became 71 for 6, with Justin Graves falling for 35.
01:17It will be number 6, and fittingly it's Paul Stirling.
01:21Roston Chase and Matthew Ford stuck around for a while and put on an inconsequential 98 runs.
01:27That will reduce that required run rate.
01:29Chase would top score with 55, embellished with 4 4s and 2 6s.
01:33Straight back past the bowler, that'll be 4.
01:35That's a wonderful riposte from Roston Chase.
01:38Their obdurate stand ended when Chase was bowled by George Dockrell.
01:42Bolden, and the gamble works for Stirling, and it's the big wicket.
01:46Dockrell took three wickets from just two overs to expedite the process.
01:50Tom Mays is out at long off, and holds on.
01:53And Barry McCarthy ended with 4 for 32 when he removed Ford for 38.
01:58The West Indies capitulated for 179 in the 35th over to be shellacked by 124 runs.
