Another heartbreak for the West Indies.

This as the ladies in maroon surrendered the three-match ODI series to South Africa 2-1 in Barbados.

The visitors made 278 for 6 from 45.5 overs in a game affected by rain, with Tazmin Brits scoring 101.

When the Windies batted, the revised target had to be adjusted twice due to rain interruptions.

In the end, they were bowled out for 121 in the 28th over and lost by 166 runs on the DLS method.

00:00Not a bad goal if you ask me.
00:01Alright, tell you what, brace yourselves because it's another heartbreak for the West Indies women.
00:07As a sub-par batting display from the Windies women saw them slumped to a 166-run defeat
00:12via the Duckworth-Lewis Stern method in the rain-affected third one-day international against South Africa
00:18at the three W's Oval in Barbados.
00:21All that result handed the South Africans a 2-1 victory in the three-match ODI series.
00:25The third and final women's ODI at the three W's Oval was the decider
00:31with South Africa being put in the bat by the West Indies.
00:34Yeah, that's the name of the game.
00:36Captain Laura Woolford and Tasman Brits gave the female pro tiers a good start.
00:40We've seen that shot before quite often from the...
00:43They were scoring at a frenetic pace with a stand worth 184 in 26.1 overs.
00:49Brits would register a 10, that being her fourth in one-day internationals.
00:53Brilliant and brave from Brits. A fifth.
00:58Brits was out for 101, followed by Woolford for 75, with Afi Fletcher removing both.
01:06Fletcher ended with three wickets for 53 from her 10 overs.
01:09Feeling pressure, but there's pressure from Afi Fletcher once again.
01:13Marizan Kapp also made a useful contribution, scoring 34 not out.
01:17South Africa's innings was cut short by rain, ending on 278 for six from 45.5 overs.
01:25Set 299 to win from 45 overs on the DLS method,
01:30the Windies made a poor start as Masabata Klass got rid of Captain Hayley Matthews and Kiana Joseph cheaply.
01:37When Klass took her third wicket, the ladies in Maroon were 10 for four.
01:40Another rain interruption led to the target being 288 from 39 overs,
01:50with the West Indies in a further mess at 29 for five.
01:54It became 40 for six when non-Kululeko M. Laba took her second wicket.
01:58Cleaned up. Down the trap. Misses it completely.
02:02Jazara Claxton joined Aliyah Alain and the two put on 65 for the seventh wicket.
02:07Down the ground. I'm the first.
02:09Klass took her fourth by removing Alain for 32.
02:15Claxton was dismissed for 43, with Stefani Taylor absent hurt.
02:20Adderi Dawson took two wickets as West Indies were bundled out for 121 in the 20th oval.
02:26The home side lost by 166 runs on the DLS method to surrender the series to one.
02:32Well, she's been carrying them on her back all year,
02:38and now West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is disappointed with the team's display today
02:42as they conceded the series.
02:46Yeah, we probably weren't quite on the mark today.
02:48Still, I think kudos goes to the two openers from South Africa.
02:52I think they did play really well, but we did offer up, I guess, too many boundary balls,
02:56which kind of put them on the front foot and made things a bit easier for them
03:00to kind of just get through their innings and be able to build.
03:02Yeah, 73, 51, and 184 are for mention.
03:06The opening partnerships for South Africa, lack of penetration with the new ball.
03:10I knew I asked you about that previously,
03:12but how much of a concern really is it not getting those early wickets?
03:16Yeah, well, I think still at the same time, you have to look at our squad.
03:20We obviously have two young players opening the bowling right now.
03:23We have someone like Chanelle Henry, who's our experience opening bowlers missing.
03:27We have someone like DeAndre Doughton, who's our other opening bowlers missing as well.
03:30So these are girls getting opportunities and learning from experiences like this,
03:34and they'll only learn against tougher opposition that they play.
03:38Well, it's certainly a different story over here,
03:40as South Africa's captain Lauren Wolvard felt there were lots of positives on her side from the series.
03:48Yeah, definitely.
03:49I think we definitely had a very purposeful change of mindset compared to the previous game.
03:54We really wanted to come hard up front to put our team on the front foot early on
03:58and really attack that power play, and I'm glad that it came off today.
04:01Masabata, class of 4 for 25, how good was she in her first game of the series?
04:05Yeah, she was amazing.
04:07That's the start we've been looking for this whole series,
04:09to get them 3-4 down super early was amazing
04:12and just put us way ahead in their bowling innings.
04:14It's sort of that killer instinct we've been wanting from the bowling group,
04:16so love that start from her.
04:18I'm sure you can feel the excitement by now
