A new JD Wetherspoon pub will open in Wetherby after the company agreed to address concerns over noise nuisance.

00:47During the application, two letters were received from nearby householders who suffered public nuisance when it was previously a pub.
00:55Speaking on their behalf, Councillor Harrington said that they have serious concerns about the noise levels,
01:00including concerns over rowdy behaviour from people visiting for an event at Weatherby Racecourse.
01:06Wetherspoon regional manager Alistair Broome said the company ran pubs in other racing towns,
01:12telling a recent council meeting that if security is required it will absolutely be put in place
01:17to ensure the venue is controlled in the right manner.
01:20Wetherspoons have said they will take measures to prevent public nuisance, including CCTV,
01:25a Challenge 21 policy, and no drinks outside after 11pm.
01:30The company first applied to serve alcohol between 9am to midnight, Sunday to Wednesday,
01:35and until 1am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but they agreed to restrict Thursday last orders to midnight.
