00:00I'm the owner of Yorkshire Darts Clubs. I started it three years in February as a small family
00:07and friends league. We went on to do a couple of charity events and then it's grown massively,
00:14over 300 players. I started it out Peacock Byron Dingley, just a 12 player league every Wednesday
00:22and it just grew from there. We discovered Yorkshire Darts Clubs back in January,
00:27at the beginning of January 2025 and it was all kind of based in Bradford, which is amazing,
00:32but we wanted to help try and get something set up over in Leeds. So, between ourselves and a lot
00:37of our players as well, we kind of got Stanley Rubber Club reborn and we have a Division 1 event
00:44which are happening right now and there's also Division 2 events hosted by Sean and yeah and
00:50it's just basically taken off. It's got really popular, it's had the loop little effect, I think
00:55people call it. I started when I was about 15, played for a few years, moved house, never had
01:00a dartboard back up, met Catherine, dartboard went up, YDC grew. Yeah, just wanted to take it further,
01:11wanted to have a bit of, because playing darts in your house, in your home is fantastic but it's very,
01:15very different to playing competitively in events and people's level of gameplay changes when you're at an
01:21event and not just back for social, with it as well, like we've grown a big social following
01:27through each other and through people that we've met at darts, got a lot of friends through darts
01:31and it's nice just to be able to play competitively but friendly as well. I've played quite a long time
01:37at home or with friends but it was actually Hutton and Hutton's dad who started playing the YDC
01:42and asked me to come along and we actually had it at a different venue and then we've moved it down here,
01:46it just seems to be more, a better set up and a bit more popular down here and it's really taken off.
01:51I first became interested in darts when I was like seven. I got a dartboard for my seventh Thursday
01:58and I started playing YDC events like a year ago and I've always been practicing at home.
02:06I started to practice here a lot and I grew better and gained like 60 averages.
02:10We've had a few that you know used to play um 10 years ago and they've come back um to play darts
02:18and they're really enjoying it. Parents used to play, they're back playing because the kids are playing
02:24that's you know and it's family and a lot of our events it's not just one member of family playing.
02:29When Damien started playing darts again I thought I want to be a dart wag and um and follow on and come
02:36and support him. It's competitive but it's not too serious so everyone's really friendly you get
02:41to know different people you get there's plenty of venues you can go to. I enjoy winning just having
02:47a laugh. I don't really mind if you win or not. I think it's just fair to have a laugh. Leeds is a big
02:54place and we're looking to cover it all and this is just the start really.
