00:00Cricket, lovely cricket. It's in the southern part of Trinidad where fans get to see it. But wait.
00:07The inaugural CWI breakout league is in progress.
00:12But many stands at the Brian Lauer Cricket Academy have been empty.
00:16And that includes matches involving home side TNT Legions.
00:21Despite the small turnout, one thing's for sure.
00:24Those attending the matches have good things to say about the tournament.
00:28What is your take on the new CWI breakout league?
00:32It's a very good league, man. It's interesting and very nice for the upcoming youths.
00:36It's better men for the cricket, West Indies cricket, Trinidad cricket, all in the Caribbean.
00:41It's a very good thing. It's very entertaining so far.
00:45I've played a couple games and I'm really enjoying it so far.
00:49So a lot of the players that people don't know about can get that exposure.
00:54And that is important for the growth of West Indies cricket.
00:57Also attending games regularly is Michael De Silva, father of TNT Legions captain Joshua De Silva.
01:03The parents and sisters of Jamaica Titans cricketer Andrew Rambaran cannot be left out as they also take in the action.
01:10I try to be at as much games as I could. Anything you need, support him all the way.
01:16We all do. In fact, his dad, his sisters, we try to be at all the games.
01:21And, you know, we just want to see where he goes. We don't know what his future holds, but we're there for the journey.
01:27International cricket commentator Nikhil Utham Chandani is impressed with what he's seen and hopes it continues even when his hair turns grey.
01:35The breakout league is a much needed initiative for the future of West Indies cricket.
01:39I'm giving it a thumbs up for 2025 and hopefully the next 50 years.
01:43Cheers.
01:44Time will tell if there's going to be a healthier turnout for the final on May 10.
