Fresh off an impressive showing in the inaugural CWI Breakout League, Bidaisee is eager to carry that momentum into the tournament this August...

TV6 caught up with the rising talent during a training session at the National Cricket Centre.

00:00All-rounder Navin Bidasi was rewarded for his efforts in the inaugural CWI Breakout
00:05League by being picked for this year's CPL.
00:07He will represent St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, which includes his teammate Jed Gulli.
00:13Bidasi played a big part in helping TNT Legions win the Breakout League.
00:17He took 10 wickets and played a few important knocks, including 56 knot-out against Wynwood
00:21Island's Infernoos.
00:22Definitely really ecstatic.
00:24I think it's a blessing, so thank God for that first of all.
00:28Really excited.
00:29It's always been a dream of mine growing up, you know, watching cricket on local TV.
00:36So it's always been a goal of mine to be playing in CPL.
00:40But he isn't the only one who's happy with his accomplishment.
00:43After all, Bidasi wouldn't have been here today without the support of two important individuals.
00:48Definitely my parents, they are overjoyed, you know, all the sacrifices they made, you
00:54know, seeing it actually pay off.
00:56So they were really excited and can't wait to come and watch some of the games.
01:00For Bidasi, the journey has now started.
01:03It means that the former Hillview College student has to put in the work to be ready
01:06for the region's most prestigious T20 tournament.
01:08Obviously, I'm all around, so I try to stay good with both bat ball and in the field.
01:12So, you know, during every session I try to get in that batting, try to get bowling.
01:17So, it's been working out pretty well, so happy with it.
01:21The lad from Bish is surrounded by those who have been involved in the game for many years.
01:25As such, he often picks their brains so he can improve his game.
01:29Yeah, definitely.
01:30I think Coach Riyad, he has been in my ears a lot.
01:35Also, the senior guys, some of my teammates, they've been telling me, you know, just keep
01:39doing what you're doing all the time, you've been doing well, so just keep it simple and
01:42just keep believing in yourself and everything will work out pretty fine.
01:46The Republic Bank's CPL starts August 14th and runs until September 21st.
01:52And what does Bidesi want to achieve at this year's tournament?
01:54Some of my goals would be, obviously, firstly to be in the 11th.
01:59I'm a bowling all-rounder as well, so hopefully to pick up some wickets and just, you know,
02:04just experiment.
02:05I always like experimenting and seeing what I can do on a regional and international stage.
02:09Time will tell if Bidesi makes the final 11 when St Kitts and Nevis Patriots play their
02:14CPL opener against Antigua and Barbada Falcons.
