00:00Promises and short-term handouts amid a past of draining the Treasury.
00:04That's what Prime Minister George Young said the United National Congress is offering.
00:09He emphasized that under his leadership, the PNM is embarking on a bold new chapter.
00:14And while there have been major impediments in the Dragon and Mannequin Coquina Gas deals with Venezuela,
00:21Young isn't prepared to let go of the work that went into it.
00:25Vote the people's national movement back in.
00:28Vote me as your Prime Minister and I will fight.
00:32I will fight for that gas, for our future.
00:35I will fight like I've never fought before.
00:39According to Dr. Rowley, with 90,000 workers on the government's payroll,
00:44there is only one way to live up to the promise of a 10-15% wage increase,
00:49which at the highest end, he said, would cost the country $18 billion.
00:53The only way they could begin to think of doing that is to devalue the currency.
01:00Dr. Rowley challenged the UNC to address why their leader, Kamala Poussard Bisesa,
01:04had suggested this approach in Parliament.
01:07Why did you write it down in your document?
01:10You must come now and defend your policy for your anticipated program.
01:15Dr. Rowley reminded supporters that it was the UNC who promised to begin old-age pensions at 60,
01:23but deferred it once in office, citing financial constraints.
01:27Meanwhile, former UNC MP Dinesh Rambly, now aligned with the PNM,
01:32urged voters not to support divisive leadership.
01:35Rambly ended his contribution with this endorsement.
01:38I want to join you, and I want to join you in lifting that policy
01:44when we will all say, grant us the PNM, grant us the PNM, grant us the PNM,
01:52and we shall prevail.
