04:57Now, more of Farsete in the Morning.
05:00With Bob Cooney and Jamie Lynch.
05:02On 97.5 The Fanatic.
05:05Took a trip up to the rooftop deck on the row home there.
05:11Just now?
05:12Yeah, take a gander at the paint job.
05:14How's it look?
05:15Just one of the marble at the view for a second there.
05:17I've still got some work I've got to do.
05:19But I've...
05:19Sensational.
05:20I've...
05:20Did you grab the machete?
05:23I did.
05:23I just carried it around just in case.
05:25You don't know who...
05:26There's a lot of hornets and wasps up there.
05:28Oh, not the murder.
05:30Not the murder, B.
05:31Not the murder hornet.
05:32That's not up there, is it?
05:33As far as they're concerned, I'm the murder hornet.
05:36No, I spray them with off.
05:38That tends to make them go away.
05:40So that was working.
05:41But here's the deal.
05:41I have stopped with tape when I paint.
05:44I just...
05:45I can't stand it.
05:46Real, real cocky.
05:49You know what it is?
05:50In my idiot brain, when I'm painting an edge,
05:52like I have white, white, like...
05:54I have white and I have blue,
05:56and I don't want to mix the two, obviously,
05:57and get one on the other.
05:58So when I go by, I'm like...
05:59I'm thinking in my idiot, stupid,
06:0210-year-old brain that I still have,
06:03I'm like,
06:04I could be a surgeon with these hands.
06:08Steady hand every single time.
06:12I don't want to refer to him as this.
06:15I feel like I'm belittling my man.
06:16He's a good caller,
06:17especially on basketball topics.
06:20George Mikan especially.
06:22He loves some George Mikan.
06:24I believe his real name's Sean,
06:25but he goes by Mediocre Mike now.
06:27Mediocre Man.
06:28What's up, Mediocre Man?
06:29How are you doing?
06:30I am thrilled to be talking to the man,
06:33the myth, the legend,
06:34Mark Tarcetta in the morning.
06:37I want to commend you.
06:39I thought that that shout-out you gave me
06:41before your commercial break
06:42was truly outstanding.
06:44It was more than I deserved.
06:46See, stop.
06:47So, you know, you're no longer...
06:48Keep going.
06:49Keep going.
06:49You're no longer just a guy with a radio show.
06:51You're the man, the myth, the legend.
06:53I was very impressed.
06:55What's up, buddy?
06:56Well, I needed to...
06:58This is my last opportunity
06:59to do my Eddie Murphy
07:00I Got Ice Cream bit.
07:02I don't know if you're familiar with that.
07:03Of course not.
07:04It's a phenomenal bit.
07:06Yeah, he's got ice cream
07:07and the other kids don't,
07:08so he's got to run around.
07:09Want to lick?
07:09I got Betamax capes of The Last Dance.
07:14And today's the last day I can do it
07:16because I don't have episodes 9 and 10
07:18because they haven't edited them yet.
07:19Oh, okay.
07:20All right.
07:21All right.
07:21So what...
07:21That was in the news the last couple days.
07:23John Stockton wouldn't give him an interview.
07:25They finally interviewed him
07:26on the day that the whole thing broke
07:28and the NBA canceled.
07:29They had to send a stringer.
07:30He's the only guy in the whole movie
07:32that wasn't interviewed
07:33by the actual people that did it.
07:35They had to hire a local person in Utah
07:37to do the interview.
07:39Wow.
07:40And he wouldn't do it at first.
07:41That's why the last two episodes
07:43because he said he doesn't want to be a part
07:44of a Michael Jordan puff piece.
07:46Oh, spicy.
07:49Seriously.
07:49You look it up.
07:50You'll see I'm right.
07:51But anyway...
07:51Oh, I don't doubt you.
07:53And I have two mediocre words
07:56that will be a teaser for the episode this week
08:00because I don't want to do any spoiling
08:01because then you'll talk about me on the radio
08:03and say what a rotten person I am.
08:04I said that he's over the top.
08:06I know.
08:07It was a little over the top.
08:08It was a little over the top.
08:09But anyway, LeBradford Smith.
08:13Remember those names.
08:14If you want, you can Google it
08:15and wonder why he's going to be featured prominently.
08:18But that's all I'm going to tell you.
08:19LeBradford Smith.
08:22LeBradford Smith.
08:23Bob, do you know that reference?
08:24I'm drawing a blank here.
08:26I don't know that reference.
08:27Very interesting.
08:28See, that is not even close to a mediocre tease.
08:30That's a phenomenal tease right there.
08:32I don't know why I can't remember.
08:33I could give you a little bit of the back story,
08:35but like I said, I don't want to spoil it for anybody.
08:38We'll watch.
08:39We'll all watch.
08:40By the way, you might like our guest.
08:42Also, you may find it interesting, too,
08:44that we were talking about Jerry Krause
08:46and the whole credit thing and all this.
08:48Ron Artest did an interview.
08:49The Metta World piece.
08:51I'm sorry.
08:51He's changing.
08:51But he was drafted by Jerry Krause.
08:54They were interviewing him, asking about Jerry,
08:56and he was gushing at how much he loves Jerry
08:58and all this kind of stuff.
08:59And then he started talking about what Jerry told him
09:01when he first wanted to draft him.
09:03He said, I'm going to draft you,
09:04and then we're going to win a championship,
09:07and that'll be number seven.
09:09And once we win seven, that'll destroy those previous six.
09:12And he said that's what he told him.
09:15And he said he was all fired up about winning that seventh championship
09:17so he could destroy the previous six.
09:20Oh, wow.
09:20And Ron Artest was saying that with love,
09:22not like picking on Jerry Krause.
09:25That just goes to show you how much Jerry needed to get all the credit,
09:28that it's really him that won the titles.
09:30And, like I say, organizations.
09:33Right, right, right.
09:34And the team is just a subgroup of the larger organizations.
09:38So, anyway, is there anything that you guys want to know or not know?
09:42I just called to remind everybody.
09:45No, no, I want to tell you this.
09:46I just praised your tease, and I was about to do a tease,
09:49and you just totally glossed over it, man.
09:51Well, I'm not as experienced as you.
09:53I mean, you're a radio professional, you know,
09:56and I miss these little subtle things like Bob and the other people pick up on him.
10:00We got a pretty good guest to talk to Michael Jordan
10:04and talk to some Last Dance coming up on Monday.
10:05We're going to speak to a man that really helped make my childhood
10:08because I watched Inside NBA, NBA Inside Stuff,
10:11almost all the time with the man Ahmad Rashad himself.
10:14He'll be joining the program on Monday.
10:16That's the guy.
10:17You know, it's so funny.
10:18They were talking about Barkley and Jordan not speaking for, like, the last, like, decade.
10:24Yeah.
10:24And I was sitting there thinking, like, Jordan is like all bus buddies with Ahmad.
10:29Ahmad needs to do an intervention because I don't know if you're aware of it.
10:32He's the one that did the intervention for Wilt and Bill Russell
10:35when they hadn't spoke for 20 years.
10:36Yeah, I had heard of that one, yeah.
10:38And then he got them together for an interview,
10:40and then once they did an interview, according to Wilt,
10:42like, they quickly apologized, became best friends,
10:44and then from that moment on were like little old ladies on the phone every day
10:48for the rest of his life.
10:50That's the exact quote from Wilt.
10:51We were like two old ladies on the phone every day.
10:53Do you know Ahmad Rashad's wedding party?
10:55Are you aware of that infamous story?
10:57No, I don't.
10:58Go ahead.
11:00Ahmad Rashad, when he got married,
11:02the guys that were standing by him were Bill Cosby, O.J. Simpson.
11:11There was one more.
11:15There was one.
11:16I can't.
11:16Now I'm blanking on the third name.
11:18There was one more name.
11:19If you Google image that, all of them come up.
11:22It's an interesting one.
11:23It was Jeffrey Dahmer.
11:25Thanks for the call, Sean.
11:26I appreciate it, buddy.
11:27Oh, by the way,
11:28did you know that all Michael Jordan's interviews,
11:32none of them are his home,
11:33that they actually rented out millionaires' homes
11:35to do the Jordan interviews?
11:36Well, I've heard he's fallen on tough times.
11:39Well, not for that reason.
11:41You just didn't want anyone seeing what his home looked like.
11:43You know what?
11:44That's fine.
11:44That's fine, man.
11:45Appreciate it, buddy.
11:45Always good talking to you.
11:46That's a borderline psycho move.
11:49Renting out other people's homes?
11:50Well, like, you can't find...
11:52It's not like you're revealing where you live
11:54by shooting a documentary.
11:57Well, here you go.
11:59There are some paranoid people in the world.
12:01Yeah, I get that.
12:02I get where he's coming from,
12:04but, like, you can't pick a basement room
12:06that gives no sign of where you're at?
12:09Maybe he didn't want the cameraman to know either.
12:11Excuse me.
12:12It was just the two.
12:13It was just O.J. Simpson and...
12:16And Kaz.
12:18And Kaz at Kaz's wedding, I believe.
12:20Yes.
12:21They gave them all away,
12:22so that's a good time.
12:24Nonetheless, no, it was Ahmad Rashad's wedding.
12:27Yes, Cosby gave Felicia away.
12:30Right.
12:31Felicia, right?
12:32Yes.
12:33Yeah.
12:33Yeah.
12:34Yeah, I don't want to go Mrs. Huxtable.
12:36I don't want to go to the show character
12:38that most people would know her from, nonetheless.
12:40610-632-0975,
12:42if you want to get in on the program.
12:43Yeah, we're hoping to have Ahmad Rashad on with us
12:45coming up Monday morning.
12:46We will have Ahmad Rashad on with us.
12:48First thing I think of Ahmad Rashad,
12:49NBA inside stuff.
12:50Every Saturday morning, was it?
12:52Yeah.
12:53He got me obsessed with the NBA.
12:56That show.
12:57Like, when I was growing up,
12:58This Week in Baseball was my Saturday,
13:01had to see...
13:02Mel Allen.
13:03Yeah, Mel Allen.
13:04All this and more on This Week in Baseball,
13:07because you saw stuff you didn't see.
13:09Yeah, you saw stuff,
13:10because back then,
13:10you couldn't watch every game all the time.
13:13So it was really cool to be able to see around the league.
13:15And then, when I got older,
13:16and the Ahmad Rashad stuff came on with the NBA,
13:19I equated the two.
13:20I really did.
13:20I thought it was kind of on equal balance
13:22that, you know,
13:23those two shows were what kept you up to date.
13:26Coming up on This Week in Baseball...
13:28Yeah.
13:30It was the greatest.
13:33Twib.
13:35You're not going to believe it,
13:37but Rob Deere gives Cecil Fielder a hot foot.
13:40How about that?
13:40Coming up on This Week in Baseball...
13:42Oh, it was...
13:43God, that takes me back to being a little kid.
13:45Nolan Ryan had a noogie for Robin Ventura.
13:49He threw up and in.
13:51The young buck didn't like it.
13:52The old God took it to him.
13:54Coming up on This Week in Baseball...
13:56That was...
13:58Oh, my God.
13:59That was a good time, man.
14:00It was great.
14:00That really...
14:01Trivia questions,
14:02and then on this date in baseball,
14:05and they go back...
14:06Oh, it was...
14:06It was...
14:07I swear to God,
14:08I don't think I blinked
14:09in the half hour that that show was on.
14:11I love that show.
14:14Mickey Tattleton shows his flat swing.
14:17Coming up...
14:18Coming up on This Week in Baseball.
14:19There was a best of This Week in Baseball
14:26that I think I watched.
14:27I told you before,
14:29my family...
14:29When I was a kid,
14:30I was in third grade,
14:31we had a family live with us.
14:33They were between houses.
14:34Like, they were moving into a house,
14:36and it flooded,
14:36and it was just a bad scene,
14:37so this kid I played t-ball with,
14:39him and his family,
14:40t-ball with,
14:40little league with,
14:41they moved in with us
14:42for like three months,
14:43and every morning,
14:45this kid and I,
14:46we went to the same school,
14:47every morning we'd wake up
14:48and we would watch...
14:49It was two things that we would watch.
14:51One was the best of This Week in Baseball
14:54on VHS with Mel Allen,
14:56and the other was Bloodsport,
14:59the action movie Bloodsport
15:00with Jean-Claude Van Damme.
15:01That's what we watched,
15:02as we ate waffles before school.
15:03Those were the two things.
15:05This Week in Baseball
15:05makes me think of those moments.

16:24a little bit
16:25and go over that Eagle schedule.
16:27I'm a big fan
16:28of that Eagle schedule.
16:28We'll also hear a little bit
16:29from Tom Brady
16:30and Peyton Manning
16:31because even though
16:32we can look at the NFL
16:33as the thing that we hope
16:34starts on time
16:35and the thing that gives us
16:36everything it usually gives us
16:37throughout the fall
16:38and through the winter,
16:40we'll look at something
16:41a little bit different.
16:42We know that golf
16:43is around the corner
16:44when it comes to
16:45Phil Mickelson,
16:46Tiger Woods,
16:46Tom Brady,
16:47and Peyton Manning.
16:47Well,
16:48Peyton Manning and Tom Brady
16:48did a little conversation piece
16:51there with Bleacher Report
16:52about playing golf
16:53with those two
16:54and Peyton Manning.
16:55I'm going to go and say it.
16:57The man took some cheap shots.
16:58Manning took some cheap shots
17:00at Tom Brady
17:01and his golf game
17:02and some recent things
17:04that happened in Tom Brady's life.
17:06We'll get into that.
17:06But most importantly,
17:07the lead story today
17:09has to do with the Eagle schedule
17:10coming out last night.
17:11And after looking over this schedule,
17:13I've been saying it all morning.
17:15I'm staying steadfast.
17:16I am saying this year
17:17with the Eagles
17:18and I know it might sound
17:20like some cautious optimism,
17:21but I'm going Eagles
17:2310 and 6 on the season.
17:26I think they got
17:27a really good schedule.
17:28I love the fact
17:29that Baltimore Ravens game
17:30is at home.
17:31I love their travel schedule.
17:33Like I thought
17:33I was invoking
17:34the travel schedule too much.
17:36Shefty was like,
17:37oh, no, no, no, no.
17:37That matters.
17:38Yeah, so that matters 100%.
17:39So the thing he was talking
17:40about earlier,
17:40the Baltimore Ravens
17:41have like 6,903 miles
17:43traveled this year.
17:44It's the lowest amount
17:45in four years in the NFL.
17:47And the Seattle Seahawks
17:49have the most
17:50at 29,603.
17:53Like that sucks.
17:55A 23,000 mile difference.
17:58Oh, yeah.
17:58No, no, no.
17:59That's brutal.
18:01I mean, look,
18:02I want to see the stats
18:04and I don't like comparing
18:06the way these guys
18:07are traveling
18:08to the way we're traveling
18:09because it's very different.
18:11Like it goes without saying.
18:14But look,
18:15I've gotten an upgrade
18:17or two to first class.
18:19It's great.
18:21It's pretty awesome.
18:22But I will say this,
18:24it's still traveling.
18:26But when I got off the flight,
18:27the easiest flight
18:28I ever had in my life
18:29was Puerto Rico to Philadelphia.
18:30My wife and I
18:31went a few years ago
18:32and we had the lay flats.
18:34I don't know how
18:35we got this plane
18:35for like a two and a half hour,
18:37three hour flight,
18:37whatever it is.
18:38But like we had the lay flats
18:39in first class
18:40and yeah,
18:40we were tipsy
18:42within an hour.
18:43We were spoiled
18:44is what it was.
18:45It was,
18:45I was like,
18:45wow, this is amazing.
18:46I got a first class.
18:47At the time,
18:48I was flying every weekend
18:49during football season
18:50with NBC.
18:50I had accumulated the miles
18:52and all that.
18:52So we got the first class
18:53upgrade for nothing.
18:54All right, party.
18:56I could do that.
18:58I could do the luxury travel
18:59and not hate my life.
19:01I can't do the regular travel
19:03that you normally do.
19:04I normally do 99.9% of the time.
19:06That would suck.
19:07These guys get the rows
19:08to themselves,
19:09catered meals,
19:11someone else handling your bag.
19:12Like you're not rushing
19:13on the flight
19:14because of flight status
19:16and you're going to run
19:16out of room for your bag.
19:18Yeah.
19:18I'll counter that a little bit
19:20for football players.
19:22Yeah.
19:22Well, there's too many of them
19:23to have a whole row
19:24to themselves a lot of times.
19:26Okay.
19:26Right.
19:27So they have the middle seat open.
19:28Yeah, they get the seat.
19:29It's so nice.
19:29Okay.
19:30I've never been, you know,
19:326'5", 310 pounds
19:34and traveling and coach
19:36on an airplane.
19:36It's not fun.
19:37I can't imagine that's fun.
19:38Okay.
19:39I can't imagine.
19:39And I'm not putting you down.
19:40I'm just saying, like,
19:41I think the harder part
19:43is a hotel room.
19:46You know,
19:47they try to accommodate
19:48with bigger beds or whatever.
19:50You know,
19:50it doesn't work out
19:51for those guys a lot of times.
19:52I know talking to basketball players
19:54a lot of times,
19:54they don't sleep well in hotels
19:55because a lot of them
19:57have to get custom beds.
19:58Like, you know,
19:59there's little things
20:00to being on the road
20:01that I think probably hurt them
20:03a little bit more
20:03than we know of.
20:04I totally hear you, though,
20:06as far as the five-star hotel.
20:08It's not that much
20:09of an inconvenience
20:10for two nights.
20:11Right.
20:12But, you know,
20:13their bodies do have to be
20:15in prime physical condition
20:16and it probably doesn't happen
20:18as easily on the road
20:19as it does when you're home.
20:20Here's what I'll say.
20:21I'll say that no matter
20:23the status,
20:26no matter the professional athlete,
20:30commoner,
20:30whatever it might be,
20:31the average Joe,
20:33when you travel,
20:34you're committing a lot of time
20:36to being uncomfortable.
20:38Even if you are in first class,
20:39you're committing time to like,
20:40oh, where's my bag?
20:41Am I going to get my bag in?
20:43Is the seat going to be big enough,
20:44especially if you are that size,
20:45if you go to the hotel?
20:47Whenever you travel,
20:48you're committing
20:49a certain amount of time
20:50to being uncomfortable,
20:51being away from your norm,
20:53being away from your sofa,
20:54your bed,
20:55your home overall.
20:56The practice facility
20:57being however long,
20:5910-minute,
20:5915-minute drive away.
21:00You're committed to stepping
21:01out of your comfort zone.
21:03And that's true
21:04no matter who you are
21:05and you're traveling away
21:06from your norm,
21:07so to speak.
21:08So that's what I will agree with.
21:09And yeah,
21:09these guys are big dudes,
21:10but as we've been told
21:11by other former athletes,
21:13you either get a row to yourself
21:14or you get the seat open
21:15in the middle
21:16depending on if you're
21:17a rookie or not.
21:17So yeah,
21:18that I'll agree with
21:19that it's still
21:20a confined space.
21:22But for the most part,
21:23these guys are traveling
21:24a thousand times more
21:25comfortably than the average Joe.
21:27So that's where I don't like
21:28comparing it,
21:29but bottom line is
21:30you're still stepping away
21:31from what is your bubble
21:32to go out there and travel
21:34and basically commit
21:34to being uncomfortable
21:35for a while.
21:36610-632-0975.
21:38But overall,
21:38back to the schedule,
21:39the reason we talk about travel
21:40is because the Eagles
21:42have one hell
21:43of a stretch here.
21:44And you know,
21:45Chris Long even pointed out
21:46that one of the first things
21:47he looked at,
21:47especially with the Eagles schedule,
21:49is the lack of travel.
21:51Because you come back
21:52from that 49ers game
