00:00Crowning champions in today's sports with Eastside Dave. Dave, what do you got, man?
00:06Okay, we're going to start with baseball, where the Texas Rangers won their first World Series in franchise history last night.
00:13Texas shut out the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5, 5-0, to take the series four games to one.
00:22That's a big deal for Texas, right?
00:24Huge deal for Texas. They become just the third team in Major League Baseball history to win the World Series just two years after losing 100 games.
00:35Wow, talk about a bounce back.
00:37The 1969 Mets and 1914 Boston Braves were the other two teams that accomplished that.
00:44I'm sorry, did you say Boston Braves?
00:46Boston Braves, yes.
00:47Boston Braves, okay.
00:48Before they moved to Milwaukee, before the Milwaukee Braves moved to Atlanta.
00:52Huh, there was a Boston Braves, did not know that.
00:54Yeah, pal. Babe Ruth played on the Boston Braves, in fact, just for a little bit.
00:59Yeah, Texas shortstop Corey Seager was named the World Series MVP, so congratulations to Seager.
01:07Second time, in fact, he's won a championship and World Series MVP, recently won one with the LA Dodgers.
01:13So congratulations to the Texas Rangers.
01:16Rangers been in baseball for about five decades now and finally have captured a World Series.
01:23Isn't the Bush family part owners of that?
01:25They used to be.
01:26They used to be, yeah.
01:27Yeah.
01:28George W. Bush owned the Texas Rangers.
01:31I think he might have had to sell them, though, since, you know, he ran for president.
01:34The old politics thing?
01:35Yeah.
01:36I think.
01:37He's got to be excited by it all.
01:38Sure he does.
01:39Yeah.
01:40Basketball, the Knicks lost to the Cavaliers last night, 95-89, despite 24 points from Jalen Brunson.
01:46The Knicks dropped to 2-3.
01:48The Nets took down the Heat, 109-105.
01:51Mikkel Bridges had 21 points and 7 rebounds for Brooklyn.
01:5576ers were off.
01:56They face the Raptors tonight in Philadelphia.
02:00Staying with basketball for a second.
02:02College Hoops, specifically, legendary and controversial Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight died yesterday.
02:10Age of 83, Knight led Indiana to three national championships, and his 1975 Hoosier squad is the last team to go undefeated and win the championship.
02:23Always known for his cool, complacent demeanor, you know?
02:26Well, known for the exact opposite, one of the angriest coaches in the history of American sports, college or pro, basketball, baseball, football, or hockey.
02:36He was featured in the movie Anger Management because of his notorious temper issue.
02:42He was also the inspiration for the Gene Hackman character in Hoosiers, the movie, and the cool thing about that was that movie came out in 86, and that same year, Knight went out and won his third championship with the Indiana Hoosiers in that year.
03:00Right on.
03:00So, and of course, that movie's fantastic.
03:02But, yes, he was also let go by Indiana after the choking of a player instance, the Neil Reed.
03:09Can't choke a player.
03:11Kind of, we don't look kindly on such behavior.
03:15Captured on video, and that was leaked all over the place, and then Indiana said goodbye to Bobby Knight.
03:21He then coached seven years for Texas Tech and resigned, but that's a big deal.
03:26He's one of probably, he's probably on the Mount Rushmore of all-time college basketball coaches right there with Wooden and Coach K.
03:33And Coach K was his protege.
03:35Played for Bobby Knight on Army.
03:37When Bobby Knight coached Army, that was his first job.
03:40So, pretty cool there.
03:41Bobby Knight, again, was 83 years old.
03:44Hockey, the Flyers fell to the Sabres 5-2.
03:46The Devils and Rangers were inactive.
03:49Tonight, the Devils faced the Wild in Minnesota.
03:51The Rangers play the Hurricanes in Madison Square Garden.
03:54And finally, football tonight kicks off week nine of the NFL season.
03:59Got the Titans at 3-4, taking on the Steelers at 4-3 in Pittsburgh.

04:14Yep.
04:15Looks like, I think the Steelers got this tonight.
04:18They have the home field advantage, kind of an even matchup, but I'm going with Pittsburgh on this one.
04:22That.
04:23That.
