00:00All right, Dave, sports, what do we got today?
00:03Breaking news!
00:06Thank you for the sound effect because, well, okay, the telegraph sound effect.
00:12Does anyone even know what that sound effect is?
00:15And all the chips at sea.
00:16What breaking news do you have?
00:18Oh, this is important.
00:19Giants fans, listen up, turn up your radios.
00:22According to Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network, the Giants and star running back Saquon Barkley
00:30have agreed to terms on a new one-year deal worth up to $11 million, but also a $2 million
00:39signing bonus, which means he could make upwards of $13 million, and that comes $3 million ahead
00:49of initially what they were going to give him at $10 a year.
00:53So the Giants caved as well they should.
00:56Yeah, basically, but not so much.
00:59I mean, basically, like I said, it's a one-year, $11 million deal right off the bat.
01:06So the initial thing was a $10 million deal, so that's only $1 million more.
01:13But $2 million in the bank today.
01:14Then I believe the $2 million signing bonus is a sweet little deal there.
01:19But, I mean, that's a huge deal.
01:22Saquon Barkley finished fourth in the NFL last season with 1,312 rushing yards.
01:30No question, huge part of the team.
01:32No question.
01:32He ran for 10 touchdowns.
01:34But also, remember, he tied for the team with 57 receptions.
01:41He not only runs with the ball, which is his forte, he catches the ball well and makes plays
01:48with screens and little passes out of the backfield.
01:52Out in the flat, you throw him the ball, and he does something with it.
01:55And without Saquon, I could not envision any success for the Giants this season.
01:59And now with Saquon back in the fold, and basically this is good because these holdout situations
02:06Never work out.
02:08Are always, yeah, a detriment to the team.
02:11And it would always be, it's always like the beginning of the end for whatever player.
02:15You see that it almost feels like the regular season becomes the player's training camp.
02:22And that he never really gets his legs underneath him.
02:25He never has that great season.
02:26So the longer those holdouts go, it's always bad for the entire team.
02:30Well, now, no holdout.
02:32He's going to basically be starting training camp with everybody else.
02:36Saquon will be in camp again, according to Ian Rapp, a board of the NFL Network.
02:43In case this story turns out to be bogus, I don't want everyone yelling at me.
02:48Well, listen.
02:49Yell at Ian.
02:50If it's true, then the question is, do you have enough to get past the Eagles, right?
02:54That's a damn good team right there.
02:58I hate to say it.
02:59He went to the Super Bowl.
03:00Yep.
03:00I hate to say it.
03:01And it was a good Super Bowl as well.
03:03So I don't know.
03:06But at least we should be thinking about making the playoffs since they made the playoffs last year
03:11and got a playoff win.
03:12They did.
03:13I mean, they beat the Vikings, but still.
03:14Yeah.
03:14Hey, the Vikings had a, you know, they were the second or third best team in the NFC last year.
03:20So big, big, big news.
03:22Saquon is back on the Giants, according to Ian Rapp, a board of the NFL Network.
03:27Baseball, the Phillies fell to the Orioles last night, 3-2.
03:31Closer Craig Kimball receives the loss.
03:33Phils dropped to 53-47 for the year.
03:37The Yankees and Mets were off tonight.
03:39The two teams square off against each other.
03:42Some Subway Series action.
03:44Yankee Stadium.
03:45Who's throwing?
03:46So you have Domingo German on the mound for the Yankees and Justin Verlander will get the
03:52start for the Mets.
03:54The Yanks come into the game 53-47, tied with the Red Sox for last in the AL East.
04:00The Mets, meanwhile, are 46-53, fourth in the NL East.
04:07Just two games, right?
04:08That's it.
04:09Yep.
04:10It's just these weird two-game miniseries these days between the Yankees and Mets.
04:15So you get one today and one tomorrow.
04:17Yes, they did.
04:18All right.
04:19Basketball, the Knicks are adding free agent Dylan Windler.
04:22If you haven't heard of him, it's because really no one has.
04:26He's a guy who was chosen by the Cleveland Cavs a few years ago, but has barely played because
04:33of injury issues.
04:34So we'll see what this guy brings to the table.
04:37He's 6'6", and is a shooting guard.
04:40And then finally, soccer.
04:41The U.S. women's soccer team will be taking on the Netherlands on Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
04:48Eastern Standard Time.
04:50We figured it out.
04:51So the game is-
04:52I wasn't sure what the hell was going on.
04:54The game is 9 p.m.
04:55Our time, which means they're actually playing it Saturday morning at 1 a.m., right?
05:00Because of the time difference?
05:01It's that New Zealand-Australia time difference.
05:04I believe it's like they're playing technically noon on Thursday.
05:08Right.
05:08They're like six weeks ahead of us.
05:10But the game will be 9 p.m.
05:13So they're going to be playing in the future when we're going to be watching them at 9 p.m.
05:17on Wednesday night.
05:19There's a great story at WRAT.com and over on our Facebook right now of the bars in Hoboken
05:24opening up at 5 a.m.
05:27Yes.
05:27For the World Cup games.
05:29That's awesome.
05:29No good will come of that.
05:31I'm just saying right now.
05:32I love it.
05:33Because there's games like one of the U.S. women's, the following U.S. women's game starts
05:38at 3 o'clock in the morning.
05:40That's peculiar.
05:41Yeah.
05:42I know that they have the big time zone difference, but I mean, it just seems.
05:465 a.m.
05:47Hitting the bars for the games.
05:48It just seems crazy.
05:50That is your quick look at sports.
05:52On the rad.
05:53On the rad.
