00:00Welcome back to another Luanty mod review. Today we are looking at the X Obsidian Mies mod, which adds a handful of tools made with Obsidian and Mies, and the Obsidian Mies chest, which I have two placed, and it works as a shared storage, I guess?
00:20Anything you place in this chest will be available in this chest, which is handy if you like to travel around or something, because I can. Can I break this by hand? I probably can't. Can I break it with a shovel or a sword? No, I can't.
00:39Okay, well, that's no big deal. I imagine I can break it with the axe here. Okay, with a pickaxe? Something must break this. It has to be possible. There we go. We can break it with the axe.
00:54So, I have a chest over here, right? And I'll just leave this at my base, put some things in there that I might need whilst I am out and about, and then say, oh, I don't know, I'm deep underground mining, and I'm like, ooh, you know what? I need some torches.
01:08Let me just throw this chest out. Looks like the chest lights up a little bit. And I have access to everything that is in this chest, but it's actually in this chest.
01:17It's a shared storage between the two chests. Now, I'm not sure, and this would be interesting to know, if I remove the last one, right, and there's stuff in it, okay, and then I place this somewhere else, say, oh, I don't know, right here, that I still have my stuff.
01:39Okay. So, it's probably just storing all of the items on a per-player basis, and then essentially giving the player another inventory and showing the inventory in the chest, which would make sense.
01:52So, yeah, we got some pickaxes, swords, shovels. Let's get into some of the different aspects of these things.
01:59So, we have the axe here. Looks like this is only available in the obsidian meese, so we use a few obsidian shards and some meese crystals to make the axe.
02:13And this axe differs from a normal axe in that, you know, I don't think it does this for papyrus.
02:17Oh, it does for papyrus. Takes down the whole plant at once.
02:21Although, you know, I'm curious, now that I destroyed all of it, let me go grab one of these, and let's leave the bottom node down.
02:31Does it only go, yes, it only goes from the top up.
02:34So, if we try with a tree here, looks like it took the whole tree out above that node.
02:41If I do the same here, it takes the whole tree out above the node that you are pointing at.
02:46So, if we, for whatever reason, wanted to leave the bottom chunk of this tree here, we could do that.
02:53I don't really know what the reasoning behind that would be, but, hey, it's an option.
02:58If you ever find yourself needing to do that, I don't know why you would want to.
03:04Also, beautiful, beautiful graphics effects, but we're not here for that.
03:07That has nothing to do with the mod.
03:09Yeah, that's pretty much the axe. It just, it chops down whole trees.
03:12I don't know. I suppose I should check this. What if I hold sneak?
03:17Nope, it still takes the whole tree down.
03:19So, if you did want to just remove one, that is going to be an issue, using this axe at least.
03:27Now, I am, I can't jump high enough. This is, this is sad.
03:34I want it to be on top of it and place a whole bunch.
03:37Okay, so say I put some of my own trees out.
03:40That's probably a bit high to be, but we're fine. We're fine.
03:45Okay, so now if I chop this, do I get the whole stack?
03:50I do. Okay.
03:52So, that's probably worth noting if you are building a house and you're using tree trunks for the corners,
03:58and then you use this axe to take one out, it's going to take the whole corner out.
04:00So, just, just to be aware of that.
04:03Moving along, we have the shovel we will look at next.
04:07So, still, same kind of thing.
04:09We're using the obsidian shards instead of sticks, and we're using Mies Crystal,
04:13well, as Mies Crystal for a shovel.
04:15And, of course, it digs, like you would expect from a shovel.
04:20But, also, when you use the, in my case, it's right-click, but it would be the secondary action.
04:29If you have it set up to some other key than just right-click, you can make pathways.
04:35Now, if there's a plant growing on top of the dirt, it doesn't work,
04:40so you have to remove the plant first, which, I don't know, it's slightly annoying, I think,
04:46because then you accidentally dig the whole node out because the shovel digs so fast.
04:50But, yeah, you get path nodes.
04:53We should find out, though, what happens when we dig a path node.
04:58Do we just get the normal dirt, or do we, yes, we do.
05:01Okay.
05:02And then, so, obviously, if we got normal dirt when I place it out,
05:05it'll be normal dirt again, and I'll have to convert it back to a pathway if I want a pathway.
05:10Good to know, because you might make something a path and then realize,
05:14oh, you know what, I don't actually want that a path.
05:17All you have to do is dig it and replace it, and it won't be a path anymore.
05:20So, I can do that, and I can have a two-wide path.
05:24Very nice.

05:26This works on, obviously, the, whatever the dry dirt here is called.
05:31Normal dirt.
05:34Permafrost.
05:35Jungle dirt.
05:36I want to say sand as well, but I don't, oh, wait, there's some sand up on the top of this hill.
05:43Okay, well, let's, yep, works on sand, works on that.
05:47But, um, the jungle grass is too far away, but it works on that, too.
05:51It works on most grasses.
05:54Um, I would assume it would also work on just normal dirt.
05:59Let's find out real quick.
06:01Oh, yeah, just normal dirt it'll work on, too.
06:05Um, honestly, it looks like it might be, no, it is a little bit different.
06:09We got some stones in those, whereas the grass has some little, some little planty bits in it.
06:14Um, so we have that, um, let's see, moving right along, uh, let's take a look at the, do I only have this in the meese as well?
06:26I only have this in the meese as well.
06:28Okay, perfect.
06:29Let's go ahead and take a look at the meese hoes.
06:33So, standard, standard hoeing, right?
06:38Well, not quite, because if you do a path, it looks like it's four long.
06:42Um, now, if I had some seeds, I believe I could plant a whole row of seeds, too.
06:48So, let me just, I don't know, take 99 of these.
06:53Now, I don't know if that needs to be in a specific inventory slot.
06:57Um, it doesn't look like it.
07:00It looks like it pretty much just needs to be in your inventory, and it'll plant the seeds.
07:05Now, of course, I'm a little high up there for those seeds to probably actually ever grow, but these will work.
07:12So, we have that.
07:14Um, and then, I read this.
07:20If I, I'll have to grab a bucket real quick.
07:24If you take a bucket with water, we'll just take one already filled with water, because why not, and fill that here.
07:31Then, I'm supposed to be able to, um, hmm.
07:37How is this supposed to work?
07:39I thought this is, I thought this is what it said.
07:42So, let's go back to the hoe here.
07:47It says, oh, actually, no, it doesn't say it.
07:49Uh, we'll pull out five blocks in the direction that I'm reading this off of the, the notes.
07:56So, let me find a, I guess, a spot that doesn't have any grass in it.
08:02Here we go.
08:02So, five, one, two, three, four, five.
08:06Yep, I did five.
08:07Right click, secondary useful place, five seeds.
08:10Yep, we did that.
08:11Additionally, if you dig a hole, one block deep, drop bucket, item from inventory.
08:15Oh, oh, my bad.
08:17So, the bucket needs to have the water in it.
08:19So, if we drop this in the hole, and then we punch it with the hole, there we go.
08:26Um, did it give me the bucket back, though?
08:29Uh, it might be sitting in the hole.
08:32Is there a, there is no bucket in there.
08:34So, you lose the bucket.
08:37Ugh.
08:38But, it does, uh, does do the whole area around it.
08:44Um, it doesn't populate it with the seeds, though.
08:48So, then you still have to go through and manually do all of the planting.
08:54I don't know.
08:57I, I guess it has, it has its advantages.
09:00I feel like it would work a little better if it kicked out the plants here.
09:04But, I suppose the mod wouldn't know if this is, I mean, technically it would, if this is a plant that's desirable or not.
09:12Um, maybe you want that grass for some reason.
09:15I don't know.
09:16Um, okay, moving right along.
09:18I'm glad it's getting dark, because that gives us the perfect opportunity to look at the pickaxes.
09:25Um, not that it really needs to be dark, because I can just go underground to do this.
09:30So, it wouldn't even matter.
09:31Just give me a bunch of torches, pretty please.
09:34I don't remember which of these two pickaxes is which.
09:37So, uh, better pull that back up.
09:41We have the obsidian meese pickaxe.
09:43Very durable and versatile pick for long mining.
09:45And then we have the, uh, engraved version, but it's diamond.
09:51Okay.
09:52Uh, whatever.
09:53But this one, when you right click, or use your secondary, it'll place the item in the next slot.
09:59So, say I'm underground mining and I want to place a torch, and I have torches in my next slot, I can do that.
10:06But, I suppose, if we're going to pretend to be mining, we could actually do some mining.
10:14We're going kind of slow, because we're through sand here.
10:17You know, we don't really want to be in sand, but there we go.
10:23So is life sometimes.
10:25Uh, we're dropping the whole stack of sand with it, I guess.
10:28Not really what I wanted to do, but that's fine.
10:31Here we go.
10:32So, you'll notice we get some, uh, some little, whoops, some little swoosh effects.
10:39That's kind of cool.
10:41Um, I was going to say we popped out the other side, but I think it was just unrendered blocks.
10:47Yeah, it was definitely just unrendered blocks.
10:49So there you go.
10:50Works, works great.
10:52You can throw some torches on the walls.
10:54It doesn't have to just be torches, though.
10:56Say, I don't know, I want it to be placing down tree trunks for some reason.
11:00Then, it'll do that, too.
11:03Um, and, and then I have to break the tree trunks.
11:08Again, we're getting those little swoosh effects.
11:10I think that might actually have something to deal with attacking animals.
11:14Or I should, I guess, just say mobs.
11:17They don't necessarily have to be animals.
11:19I need to get out of this hole, though.
11:20Excellent, excellent.
11:21Uh, and then, yeah, so the, just the more durable.
11:26It looks like it goes a little faster through the sand than the last one did.
11:34Um, it's kind of really dark, so I need to put a...
11:41Ugh, come on.
11:42I'm not deep enough, so I'm out of the sand.
11:43Fine, we'll try this.
11:47Does it look like it's any faster in the stone?
11:49Hard to say.
11:49It could be.
11:51Um, I don't really know.
11:54I don't think I have enough logs to get out of this.
11:58Oh, well, we're alright, we're alright.
12:00Okay, sweet.
12:01Alright, so those are the pickaxes.
12:02And then, well, you know, you gotta have the me sapple, right?
12:07Alright, restore his full health.
12:10Uh, I'm not at full health, but now I am.
12:13Jumping off of that long tree trunk that I planted, uh, kinda.
12:16Kinda did me in for a few health points.
12:19Uh, and then we have the swords.
12:21Now, the swords are pretty sweet.
12:23I was playing around with these earlier.
12:26Um, just trying to figure out how they worked.
12:29And let me tell ya.
12:31This one here, the obsidian me sword engraved.
12:33Uh, craft us piece real quick.
12:35It's just the same for both, other than switching between obsidian, or, between diamond and mese crystals.
12:43So the obsidian me sword, uh, just, you know, normal sword, yeah.
12:47You punch things with it.
12:51I suppose I could put some things out, huh?
12:53Well, lucky, lucky, I have some tree monsters.
12:57Oh no!
12:59These tree monsters are attacking me.
13:01That's some pretty decent knockback.
13:03Um, knock.
13:05Not too surprised about that.
13:07Oh no!
13:08The fearsome tree monster.
13:10It seeks to do me great bodily harm.
13:13But, he's been vanquished.
13:15Thanks to my trusty sword.
13:18But you know what?
13:20Sometimes that's just, that's just not very comfortable.
13:23Being so close to these big, scary, mean monsters that want to do me great bodily harm.
13:28And there's like a whole army of them.
13:30Well, that's where the obsidian me sword engraved comes in.
13:33If you hold on your secondary, you can create projectiles and launch them at them.
13:41Um, honestly I don't know how much damage this is doing, so let's let her charge up a little more.
13:49I don't even know if that's hurting them.
13:52It's just fun though.
13:54I mean, yeah.
13:57Hey, we got one!
13:58Finally.
13:58I don't know how much damage this does.
14:00It kind of takes a long time, honestly.
14:03Because you have to, whew!
14:05You have to let it charge until it changes colors.
14:08So like, when you right click, it shows up.
14:11I, oh, well.
14:12That one was just on the cusp of being long enough.
14:15Shows up, I can't shoot it.
14:17It'll just disappear.
14:18Has to change colors.
14:20Something is attacking me.
14:21I've got no time for that, buddy.
14:23Buddy, old pal.
14:25Oh, and now there's a dirt monster too.
14:27No time, no time for all this, fellas.
14:30Oh boy.

14:31No time, no time.
14:34There is no time like the presents to give a present like the time.
14:38Or in this case, to give a present like a launched attack.
14:44Which would be great if it actually was doing something.
14:48But clearly it does not do a whole lot of damage.
14:51At least not against a tree monster.
14:54Oh boy.
14:54We got dirt monsters.
14:56I don't know what the difference in the color is.
14:58That seems to just kind of be a random thing.
15:00I don't know if it actually means anything.
15:03I'm guessing the kind of purplish color probably is a more powerful attack.
15:10But I don't know for sure on that.
15:14But yeah.
15:17Fun little bit you can do there.
15:20Just launching these cubes at monsters.
15:22Even if it doesn't do a whole stinking lot of damage.
15:26No, it doesn't damage nodes.
15:28I must have missed them.
15:29Yeah, I sure did.
15:30Went right through the papyrus.
15:31So the obsidian me sword has a critical hit chance of 10.
15:38Damage of 10.
15:39And the engraved version has a damage of 8.
15:45Critical hit chance of 10.
15:46So our critical hit chance is the same on both.
15:51But it's a little less damage.
15:55And then you have the projectile damage.
15:57Which is plus 2.
15:58Oh, yeah.
15:59So that's not really a whole ton of damage.
16:02It only does 2 damage per launch.
16:05But if you've got something.
16:12Plus it has the knockback.
16:14I was afraid of that.
16:17I just lost all my things.
16:19Well, with that.
