Zito's Thoughts On Thanksgiving

00:00Hey, it's Jeff Zito from 98.7 The Shark, and let's talk about Thanksgiving.

00:04It's coming up, and I'm not too sure about the pilgrims and the Mayflower and the Indians and all that stuff,

00:11because that's not really the reason that we all get together to do Thanksgiving, right?

00:16So let's just put that part aside.

00:19Let's really get down to the brass tacks about Thanksgiving.

00:24Thanksgiving. First and foremost, you have to drive two hours to go to some family member's house

00:31that you probably have only seen once that whole year.

00:35Yeah, like on Thanksgiving. Two hours there, two hours back. That's a long day.

00:43For what? Ooh, a turkey.

00:46I mean, it's a big, dry chicken. We smother it in gravy, and we try to make people think it's the most delicious thing imaginable.

00:59Turkey sucks, okay? You gotta stuff it with vegetables and sausage stuffing to make it edible,

01:07and then we just douse the thing with gravy. Is there a reason we only have it one time a year?

01:13I think not. Oh, let's talk about some of the people you'll see at the Thanksgiving Day celebration.

01:21How about the one weird uncle? Uncle Freddy, let's just call him.

01:25He gets a little too close. It weirds you out. Plus, he's missing a couple teeth. You know the drill.

01:32If football wasn't a major component of Thanksgiving, I think we'd all probably just rather go to work.

01:39Maybe it's a good thing, because if people came to your house, you'd have to wait for the last person to leave.

01:47And you know there's that one straggler who's going to stay just a little bit too long.

01:53And every second they stay is one more second that your hand can't go down your pants.

02:00Really relax and take advantage of the day.

02:02So, all in all, those are my Thanksgiving Day thoughts, and maybe this year you can get lucky with a Zoom call Thanksgiving.

02:12Oh boy, wouldn't that be great? I've already laid that on my 85-year-old parents, and they took that hook.
