00:00While the COP has joined hands with the UNC to form the Coalition of Interests along with other
00:05parties and entities, the UNC is not assisting the COP financially. This was confirmed by COP
00:11leader Prakash Ramada amid reports that larger political parties are running on budgets of over
00:16$100 million in campaign funding.
00:21COP never has the kind of money that others do. We have friends and we have been able to,
00:27with small donations and so, and I could tell you, personal efforts, being able to help.
00:32One may have thought that being a part of the Coalition of Interests, the bigger parties may
00:38actually help the parties underneath their wings. Isn't that what happens?
00:42We have not seen that.
00:45The party has two candidates in the 2025 general election. Ramada says the assistance that is
00:51provided is in relation to UNC supporters coming out to join the COP on the campaign trail.
00:57It's the people that matter, you know, money, everybody talk about money, money important,
01:01but not on election days, the votes that count. And you must count the votes by the people who
01:06are willing to come out and not purchase votes. We do not believe in that. I am a firm believer
01:10this country requires campaign finance reform, not for my selfish purposes, my little party,
01:15in terms of money. But we cannot have a situation where the democracy is dependent on who pays for it.
01:22It cannot be.
