00:00The 2025 road march was played as the political leader of the National Transformation Alliance,
00:09Guy Griffith, stood at the podium to begin his speech at the meeting of his and two other
00:14parties now known as the Assembly of the People.
00:18I need you, who have referred to us as Papa Parties, open your big eyes tonight and look
00:24what Papa Parties have done tonight. The NTA Party, the Hope Party, the CRN Party, we
00:31are the party. We are going to be the dominant force in the upcoming general election. I
00:38want you all to believe.
00:40Mr Griffith believes there's nothing wrong with the existence of any third party.
00:45You're a citizen of this country because you're not from Deep South or you're from Port of
00:49Spain or you're not in red or you're not in yellow. You have a right as much as anyone
00:54to select who you want. So anytime they tell you, they're splitting the votes, tell them
00:59that they're passing out the place.
01:01Mr Griffith then spoke about what he called the solidified base of the party presently
01:06in government.
01:07188,000 persons voted for the PNM in 1986 when they were at their worst at 33-3. That
01:14is how powerful the PNM is. So jump high, jump low. The PNM has their base. The UNC
01:19also has their base. But what we are seeing right now is a time where I think every single
01:25citizen in the country can admit that this has been the worst government the country
01:28has ever seen, the PNM. But then you look into the other side and you're saying to yourself,
01:34should we really vote for that? And that is where we come in.
01:38The leader of the NTA welcomed the representatives of the Congress of the People, which recently
01:43reintroduced itself to the political landscape. Jewel Brown, TV6 News.
