00:00Therefore, I think what is happening is a lot of noise and a lot of mischief, but if
00:05we are to follow the constitution and what it says, then we would have a clearer appreciation
00:12for what is to follow.
00:13Mr Morris said, signatures or not, once the Prime Minister resigns, the President would
00:18act.
00:19Of course, if there are signatures or parliamentarians pledging support, that perhaps would help
00:27the President in coming to a decision as to who has the support of the majority.
00:36However, ultimately, the decision is the sole discretion of the President as per the constitution.
00:45Mr Morris referenced the passing of former Prime Minister Dr Eric Williams.
00:50When Dr Williams passed away suddenly in 1981, the President was called to make a decision
00:59then and there.
01:01And of course, various factors would have, or based on the history of it, what I learned
01:08is that the President may have consulted one person or so and then made a decision.
01:14Mr Morris said the noise from outside factors is an attempt to cause chaos and confusion
01:20within the PNM.
01:21The noise that is coming is really noise of mischief and those opposed to the People's
01:28National Movement are to create instability and to distable the party.
