00:00They have not anchored stability but have anchored our island in fiscal
00:06stagnation, leaving our people adrift in a sea of empty promises and squandered
00:12opportunities. What is the hard reality on the ground? Under this current
00:18administration, after four years, our tourism sector, which is our lifeblood,
00:24is basically dead. Giving an initial response to the budget, Mr. Morris said Tobago continues to
00:32witness a decline in the tourism industry. If you go on the beaches, you will not see the number of
00:40tourists, especially international tourists there. And when you talk to the stakeholders,
00:46you are hearing the pain, the struggle and the financial depredation that they are facing at this
00:54time. He said under the THA, Chief Secretary Farley-Augustin-led administration, the Tobago
01:00economy has collapsed. But a new day is on the horizon with the PNM. What we have witnessed over
01:08the past four years can only be described as the collapse of the Tobago economy under Farley
01:17and France. But a new dawn is coming and a new day will soon arrive when Tobago can chart a new course
01:28under a new administration. The minority leader was joined by a minority councillor,
01:35Petel Daniel Benoit. The minority will officially respond to the budget at the Assembly Chamber on
01:41Thursday. Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
