00:00Sabah Bersatu has maintained a steady outlook ahead of the state election despite the recent

00:07departure of its deputy chief, Akshaya Nasra, who declared support for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

00:14Its secretary, Yunus Nurdin, said Akshaya's decision had not weakened the party as he

00:19lacked influence among the grassroots.

00:23Yunus said, everyone has the freedom to choose their own path in the political world.

00:29He dismissed the notion that Akshaya's move amounted to sabotage, saying it was normal

00:34for politicians to seek a more comfortable platform.

00:38Akshaya, the Kinabatangan Bersatu chief, said yesterday that he was relinquishing all party

00:44positions immediately.

00:46He said his decision was untouched by external influences.

00:50Akshaya also said it was important to ensure that Sabah is led by local leaders while maintaining

00:57strong ties with the federal government.
