00:00Eight Sabah Bersatu division leaders have defended party president Muhyiddin Yassin
00:05after calls for him to relinquish the position after the party's wipeout in the Sabah polls.
00:10The eight leaders said Bersatu deputy president and election director Hamza Zainuddin and
00:15state chief Ronald Kiandi should be the ones taking full responsibility for the party's
00:20poor performance in the state election.
00:23In a joint statement, they said the ones who managed the election campaign should answer
00:27to the grassroots instead of passing the blame to other parties who were not directly
00:32involved in managing the campaign.
00:34The eight leaders were Lahat Datu Bersatu chief Ahmad Ali Akbar Khan Gulen, Jupri Omar, Faisal
00:40Julaili, Iqbal Khalid, Abedin Sahad, Ahmad Yusuf, Mazmin Mazin, and Ramli Eiji Said.
00:49Yesterday Sabah Bersatu secretary Yunus Nordin blamed Muhyiddin for Bersatu and PN's dismal
00:54performance in the Sabah polls, with only passes Ali Akbar Gulen winning in Karambunay despite
01:00the coalition fielding 41 candidates.
01:04At a press conference joined by other leaders, he accused the former prime minister of failing
01:08to manage internal strife in Bersatu in the months before the state election, thus affecting
01:14the confidence of voters in the party.
