00:01Bersatu Information Chief Tun Faizal Ismail Aziz has rebuffed calls for Muhyiddin Yassin
00:06to step down as party president, saying his deputy, Hamza Zainuddin, should resign instead.
00:12Responding to Bersatu Supreme Council member Yunus Nordin, Tun Faizal said Hamza had failed
00:17to perform as the party's Sabah election director, pointing to its failure to win a
00:21single seat in the November 29th state polls.
00:25He also accused Hamza, the opposition leader, of failing to rein in his supporters in the
00:29party, leading to their repeated breach of party discipline and the Bersatu constitution.
00:34Tun Faizal did not name anyone, but was believed to be referring to the disciplinary action against
00:39several leaders who were sacked or suspended, including MPs Wan Saifu Wanjan, Saifuddin Abdullah,
00:45and Wan Ahmad Faizal, Wan Ahmad Kamal.
00:48Yunus is among the more senior Bersatu leaders calling for Muhyiddin to resign as party president
00:53to make way for Hamza over the dispute with PAS concerning a supposed agreement to abolish
00:58the Perikata national chairmanship.
01:00Yunus also accused Muhyiddin of making unilateral decisions for Bersatu, thereby causing rifts with
01:06PAS, its key ally in the opposition coalition.
