00:00A political analyst believes that the top leadership's alleged role in arranging the

00:06results of the recent Resatu party polls has fueled grassroots dissatisfaction, leading

00:11to a wave of party exits.

00:14National Professor's Council Fellow Azmi Hassan said the dissatisfaction began when the president

00:20and deputy president positions were not open for contest, with Muhyiddin Yassin retaining

00:25his role as president and Hamzah Zainuddin being the sole deputy president candidate.

00:30Azmi said Resatu delegates and grassroots are unhappy as they could not elect candidates

00:35for the top two positions.

00:37He also pointed to internal turmoil stemming from a power struggle between two factions,

00:42one aligned with Hamzah and the other with Azmin Ali, each vying to place their own candidates

00:47in key roles.

00:49Yesterday, Tenggara Resatu dissolved immediately after its leader and 30 members decided to

00:54leave the party due to a loss of confidence in the top leadership.

00:59This move followed the resignation of former Pahang Resatu Treasurer Roslan Hassan, who

01:03announced his departure with 40 other members for similar reasons last Friday.

01:08Meanwhile, Mazlan Ali of University Technology Malaysia said the opposition's failure to

01:13secure a memorandum of understanding with the government has fueled dissatisfaction

01:18within the party.

01:19He added that the opposition's weak check and balance against the government has also

01:24contributed to this discontent.
