00:00Bung Mokhtar Radin said he will not entertain calls for him to step down as Sabah Amno Chief

00:06over his ongoing corruption case.

00:10The Kinabatangan MP was urged to resign after he and his wife were ordered to enter the

00:14defence on charges of corruption and abetment over a RM150 million Felcra investment.

00:21Sabah rights activist James Lee Gunjang said it was crucial for political leaders accused

00:26of wrongdoing to take a temporary leave of absence until their names were cleared.

00:32Bung argued that the charges brought against him had not distracted him from carrying out

00:36his responsibilities as an Amno Chief and as an elected representative.

00:41He also said calls by NGOs and activists for leaders to resign from their positions were

00:45a norm and emphasised that he would not entertain them.

00:49Bung added that internal party matters would be decided by Amno.

00:54Earlier Zayed Ibrahim urged Bung to resist calls to step down as Sabah Amno Chief, saying

00:59the MP will not win any extra votes by resigning from the post.
