00:00This is a very important organization. You don't treat us slightly. We are the world governing body of the Steel Pan. And so far, I must say that we are developing a good relationship. I expect better and I expect best.
00:16President of Pantran Bego, Beverly Ramsey-Moore, says some members are skeptical about the relationship between the organization and the new government for good reason.
00:27Members are extremely concerned because the first signal that was sent to the organization is that we don't need your president and via letter asking the organization to name someone else.
00:49So the members saw that as an insult and disrespect. But eventually, we would have settled our differences thus far with our line minister.
01:00Pantran Bego is not state-run, but Ramsey-Moore believes collaboration with government benefits everyone, saying their panyard model, if fully adopted, can do so much for society.
01:12Where we play a greater role in the governance of our nation by contributing to the development of our young people, of our young men in at-risk areas.
01:22And so we have all our delegates and our members who play a role in keeping our country safe.
01:29And for that, you know, it should be taken into consideration the role that we play in terms of giving funding to the organization.
01:37Ramsey-Moore says she looks forward to see what the national budget may hold.
01:43I weigh the upcoming budgets. I don't expect any cuts in our prizes and I don't expect any cuts in the assistance, the bans and all the players' remittances and all of that.
01:56So I know it's a new government and they have to make their assessment.
02:02So I look forward in the positives of the budget that will go towards the steel plan community.
