00:00The downpours have wreaked havoc, especially in Tobago, triggering landslides, street flooding, and dangerous winds.
00:07Among the worst affected areas are Providence Branch Road, Wynwood Road, and Devine Road in Northside Tobago.
00:14The Tobago Emergency Management Agency, TEMA, had received reports of 11 of these incidents as of noon.
00:21These include flooding, fallen trees, landslides, and landslide threats.
00:27Power outages are widespread in Moriah and Northern Tobago, while south service disruptions are only adding to the challenges.
00:34Apart from Moriah, several other areas throughout Tobago would have been affected.
00:39These include Lowlands, Parkalette, Frensfield, and a few other areas on the eastern side of the island, as well as the Turtle Beach corner in Black Rock.
00:52Some progress has been made, however. By 12.30pm, Studley Park Roadway was cleared and deemed safe for travel.
00:59Motorists are urged to proceed with caution as more rain could cause damage in already vulnerable areas.
01:05At this time, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency continues to conduct reconnaissance, tree-cutting exercises,
01:13and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure that Tobago is returned to a state of normalcy as soon as possible.
