00:00There are four types of rum to choose from under the Straight Vibes brand, named after
00:04some of Vibes Cartel's dancehall hits.
00:07Fever, an overproof rum described as intense and fiery.
00:11Ramping Shop, said to have a bold edge.
00:14Electric, labelled as a crisp and vibrant white rum.
00:18And finally, Unstoppable, a dark rum.
00:21People in Trinidad and Tobago can now get their taste buds acquainted with the brand,
00:26as announced by Executive Manager of Angostura, Rahim Mohamed.
00:29In Trinidad, Straight Vibes will be exclusively distributed to Angostura, Solera, Wines & Spirits.
00:35And all these shells are stocked.
00:42Mohamed says getting the project off the ground to a contribution and development from international
00:47parties and the time from design to launch was between four and six weeks.
00:53Angostura, as a leading innovator in the spirits industry, we are extremely excited
00:59to distribute and manufacture Cartel's products.
01:02At our factory in Trinidad, we have the capacity to produce up to 400,000 bottles a day.
01:09We are quality certified, ISO 9001 and many more standards.
01:15Quality management systems.
01:16Cartel had the opportunity to visit the factory yesterday, meet and greet with the staff and
01:21see first-hand our production capabilities.
01:24Cartel's team has also approved Angostura as a co-packer for the rum.
01:28Adidja Palmer, better known as Vibes Cartel, says it was a round-the-clock effort from
01:33various stakeholders to arrive at what he has nicknamed the rum that never sleeps.
01:38Operations are underway to restock shells in Jamaica, where the rum was first launched
01:44and sold out in two weeks.
01:46Not just because of the hype that Vibes Cartel brings to the product, but also because of
01:52the quality of the product, you know what I mean?
01:56So I don't know if anybody started drinking it yet, but trust me, once you taste this
02:01rum, trust me, you'll never go back to what you were already drinking.
02:05I'm telling you.
02:06My personal favorite is the fever.
02:10So try that.
02:11And if you mix it with the peer, peer chill, I call it peer pressure.
02:16So that's what I work with today.
02:19But yeah, man, so love, respect to the Angostura team, love, respect to Trinidad, it's always
02:24a pleasure.
02:25Trinidad is my home away from home.
02:27So it wasn't a hard decision.
02:30Cartel signals the intention for further collaboration.
02:34We're going to have, like, other products coming out with the Angostura team.
02:38So it's going to be a lifelong partnership.
02:42And so far, it's been very profitable, you know what I mean?
02:46I love the vibe, I love the energy.
02:47You know, as always, I love Trinidad.
02:49Mohamed notes that the rum is only in two countries at this time as he speaks of further
02:54plans for export.
02:56We are soon going to export, hopefully within this year, early January, into Antigua, the
03:03Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent of the Grenadines, Ghana,
03:13the Netherlands, Nigeria, the UK, and the US.
03:19And these are serious inquiries.
03:20Many of these distributors have already placed their orders and their goods are in production.
