00:00 Chairman of TTPost Michael Seals says the company has managed to reach another significant
00:11 milestone with its most recent developments, which he refers to as historic.
00:16 The launch of this state-of-the-art records management facility and the return of the
00:22 Tagarigua delivery office after a four-year hiatus from the people, all the people of
00:28 the Tagarigua community.
00:30 Minister of Public Utilities Marvin Gonzalez says after not having a records office for
00:34 four years, around 30,000 people stand to benefit from its refurbishment, which came
00:41 to fruition under the Public Sector Investment Program.
00:45 The minister states that postal services would improve for people in surrounding areas like
00:50 Aruka and Tunapuna.
00:52 In addition to that, your acting general manager indicated to me that because this project
00:58 was successfully executed, brought within time and within budget, we were able to take
01:04 the savings from this project and to bring about improvement in the Tagarigua delivery
01:11 office.
01:13 The minister says it shows what can be achieved with proper management and holding managers
01:18 accountable.
01:20 My understanding is that with this Tagarigua records office, most of your files and records
01:28 will now be digitized and therefore there will be less dependency on paper.
01:34 You will now have the ability to bring about new digital services to provide to all your
01:39 customers, et cetera, because no longer for TTPoS to survive, as I've been saying on numerous
01:45 occasions in the past, for TTPoS to survive, TTPoS must delve deeper into the digital landscape.
01:54 Gonzalez notes that it doesn't come without risk, citing the hacking of companies with
01:59 ransomware, including TSTT.
02:02 In giving an advice to TTPoS, he says this is not limited to TNT, but rather it's a serious
02:09 international problem.
02:11 Observe what is taking place on the digital landscape and ensure that your systems are
02:19 hardened and robust enough.
02:21 If we were to be honest, that TTPoS itself was the victim of hacking not too long ago.
02:28 Thankfully, it was managed and it was managed in such a way that your customers and their
02:34 data were not compromised.
02:37 The minister has called on TTPoS to do whatever must be done to protect its customers' data.
02:43 An intention to refurbish other abandoned TTPoS buildings has been signaled by the minister,
02:49 but on another note, TTPoS reveals that there would soon be a motor scooter upgrade.
02:56 Universal Postal Union has funded 30th motor scooters.
03:00 If you look, that will be to your right, you will see scooters similar to that is on its
03:04 way.
03:05 The management has successfully lobbied for this funding.
03:09 Citizens can expect a delivery of mail in at least 35 communities nationwide.
03:15 A great improvement.
