00:00The Tobago Regional Health Authority says the agreement marks a formal step toward deeper collaboration between both regional health authorities.
00:10The memorandum of understanding outlines the sharing of information, technical expertise, and both clinical and developmental resources aimed at improving health care delivery across Trinidad and Tobago.
00:24You know, if you're talking about environment, you have a controlled ecosystem because you're not having many things coming in and out of it continually.
00:34Implement it in an ecosystem that is somewhat controlled, therefore recognizing it's good, it's bad, it's indifference, and therefore being able to course correct.
00:45The TRHA says the partnership is intended to strengthen service delivery through cooperation and more efficient use of existing resources.
00:56Because if we have something that is on one aisle, one RHA, and can be used by the other RHA at a reduced cost, hint, hint, then the resources that we have are going to go further and wider and benefit our clients even more.
01:21Chairman of the Board of the Northwest Regional Health Authority, Dr. Hubert Daisley says collaboration between the two institutions has already been taking place informally.
01:33He noted that areas of cooperation include laboratory services, surgical support, and assistance to students pursuing graduate and medical programs with plans to expand into post-graduate training.
01:47So we are looking into ourselves with the University of the West Indies and other health care providers in Trinidad and Tobago to bring about good training for, or good post-graduate training for our students.
02:09And this is going to be part and parcel of the memorandum of understanding.
