00:00We are talking about approximately $112 billion over a 10-year period.
00:06So that's a lot of money.
00:07Trinidad and Tobago is open for business.
00:11And Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Jolene John, reports
00:14that the government has received close to 1,000 expressions of interest
00:19to develop the 129 projects outlined in the government revitalization blueprint.
00:25So in all, we received 965 submissions, meaning 965 they would have put in for the projects.
00:37So this was a blowout.
00:40So Trinidad and Tobago, you understand, we positioned ourselves well.
00:44The minister also took the opportunity to respond to the American Chamber of Commerce, AmCham,
00:50which recently presented the findings of a survey done in collaboration with EY.
00:55That reportedly found that C-suite leaders and execs had little confidence
01:00in the revitalization program's feasibility and projected impact.
01:06These are not investors. These are not contractors.
01:09This is Bob the Builder down in Beatham.
01:11This is Sam in Sealots who is a wireman and want a job so bad.
01:16This is not Dioraj down in Cali Bay who is really an air-conditioned man,
01:22but efficient because he doesn't have a job. He's underemployed.
01:26They didn't survey them.
01:28They surveyed some fat cats called execs in town, and they come up and say, no confidence.
01:35I want to ask Trinidad and Tobago if 965 responses,
01:40and these are not police stations and community centers and the like, you know.
01:44These are billion-dollar projects, and in almost every case,
01:50they have to come with the presentation, what their submission must include, how they're funding that.
01:57The revitalization project includes waterfront developments, innovation and development hubs,
02:05a consolidation of all the nation's prisons, and a multimodal transport hub, among others.
02:11So the employment benefits, as we said, are about 72,000 jobs.
02:16Average employment overall, 50,919 jobs.
02:20Direct jobs, 20,000.
02:21So this is what we will retain most likely, but at a peak,
02:27and we are looking at a peak, 27 to 28, 2027 to 2028, 72,000 jobs.
02:32Minister John says the revitalization project will see TNT become a model of excellence in the world.
02:39But first, the government must further reduce crime.
02:43So this is National Security Administration,
02:46and this is really ensuring that our commissioner and the Trinidad and Tobago police service
02:51is brought into the 22nd century, in the 23rd century, way ahead,
02:56because we're dealing with AI and all of that.
02:57You can have people slaughtering little children, five years old,
03:01as they did with the Anita Diaz down in Moruga.
03:05That child was in her mother's arm getting a hair comb.
03:07Who does get murdered in their mother's arm?
03:10Jomo, running around, feeling, I'm sure going to say, Africa ground.
03:14Killed, right?
03:16The little girl up in Grandi, 2 o'clock in the morning, killed her, murdered.
03:22You know, Anissa Mohammed, four for children, died in one, two.
03:24And we accept that as a people.
03:26Shame.
03:28That is not normal.
03:29Right, so when they had this thing, what are you calling zoos,
03:32so, you know, zone of special operation,
03:35that was to ensure that we move from this.
03:38According to TTPS figures,
03:412025 recorded a 42% reduction in murders compared to 2024.
