00:00It was a disappointing night for Trinidad and Tobago Red Force as they lost to Barbados Pride by 153 runs in their regional Super 50 semi-final.
00:09After the Bajans posted 339 for 7, TNT skipper Carrie Pierre felt his batsmen did not apply themselves properly in pursuit of the 340 target to get to Saturday's final.
00:20Barbados played a great game as I said. They were positive, they started well and won the lead and momentum carried them with the bat.
00:28I think 339 on the ball was a good score but halfway I thought as batsmen with batsmanship we could have got the runs.
00:35I just think we faltered. There was no batsmanship assured. We lost wickets in clusters and we had no partnerships.
00:43So the question is, what was going through the minds of the TNT cricketers during the interval after Barbados posted a big total?
00:50Being positive. We all said the wicket was a good wicket. We were just being positive and trusting the process.
00:58All in all, when we went out there, we lost wickets in clusters, there were no big partnerships.
01:04That's in the nature of the game. Sometimes we win some and we lose some.
01:08All in all, I think we had a great tournament but it's a tough pill to swallow. Four shots in the end in semis and next year we'll try again.
01:17Pierre took over the captaincy after Joshua De Silva was called up by the West Indies for the upcoming Test Series against Bangladesh.
01:23For the 33-year-old left-arm spinner, it was an honour to lead the team out in the middle.
01:28I always pride myself to be a leader. I'm really happy. It's an achievement to be captain of your country. I hold great pride in that.
01:36I'm really thankful for the opportunity. Thank you to the coaches and the backroom staff for trusting me with that and I'm really thankful for the opportunity.
01:44The next assignment for Pierre is on foreign soil as he's set to take part in the Abu Dhabi T10 competition.
