After the loss, West Indies skipper Roston Chase was disappointed with his batters, since he felt the wicket had runs in it.

He is now hoping his side can win the final match starting next week to level the series.

00:00After a brilliant batting display saw the West Indies drawing the Christchurch test,
00:04a different side showed up for Game 2 in Wellington.
00:07This as the men in Maroon were thrashed by New Zealand by 9 wickets inside 3 days to trail 1-0.
00:12It now means new windy skipper Roston Chase has tasted 6 defeats in his 7 matches as leader of the side.
00:19Obviously disappointed.
00:22Thought we were in a good position up to this morning.
00:25Even though in the first innings we thought that we should have got some more runs.
00:30A number of batsmen getting some starts but we didn't really convert into anything big.
00:35So we thought that we left some runs out there in the first innings and we thought that we would have gotten those runs in the second innings.
00:41But it didn't happen so very disappointing for us after the bowlers really put up their hands and brought us back into the game.
00:50Chase felt the wicket was good to bat on compared to the one in Christchurch.
00:54Despite that, the Windies could not capitalize on the absence of injured blackcap spacer Blair Tickner who did not bowl in the second innings.
01:02Personally, I thought it was not as tough as the first game in Christchurch.
01:08I thought the first innings in Christchurch the ball was doing a whole lot but I didn't think that was the case here.
01:13I just thought we just made some mistakes at some crucial points in the game and we just never really got our foot back into the game today.
01:25The loss sees the West Indies at the bottom of the World Test Championships table.
01:30Despite the situation, Chase and his men are keen to make it 1-1 since the Windies last won a series in New Zealand in 1995.
01:38We still think that we are capable enough to get a win but it's just for the, I think for the batting to be consistent.
01:45Because the bowlers have shown that they're capable of getting us those 10 wickets, 20 wickets that we need to get.
01:51So I just think it's for the batting to come up to par.
01:55The final test takes place in Mount Manganui on Wednesday from 6 p.m. TNT time.
