00:00Hi there, photogenic skies this weekend with some big shower clouds around.

00:07Not feeling very pleasant though in the cold wind that now spreads across the whole of

00:11the UK.

00:12The strongest winds affecting northern and north-western parts but everywhere seeing

00:17this brisk chilly wind from the north-west and showers soon developing through the morning

00:22across central and southern parts of the UK.

00:24Rumbles of thunder, hail at lower levels, snow over hills of Wales, northern England

00:29and Scotland so all in all a blustery cold and showery day.

00:34Temperatures will reach 8-10C but when you factor in the wind it's going to feel more

00:39like 4-7C so it's going to feel more like winter has come back.

00:45And more of the same really through the evening, the showers will ease in places but further

00:49clusters of showery activity still spill across the whole of the country.

00:54By the end of the night I suspect the most frequent showers will be occurring across

00:57the north and north-east of Scotland, still a few elsewhere but they will be fading away

01:01during the early hours.

01:02The wind will also ease a little and with some clear spells around it will be a chilly

01:06start to Sunday but temperatures in most places staying above freezing because of the brisk

01:11breeze and the areas of cloud moving through.

01:15We start off with bright skies, actually plenty of sunshine for parts of central and south-west

01:19Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the south-west doing well for sunny spells first

01:23thing.

01:24Cloud will build through the morning and we'll see further showers into the afternoon but

01:28there will be fewer of them, they won't be as lively as Saturday and they'll be mostly

01:32across central and eastern parts of the country, still with this wind blowing down the North

01:37Sea coast making it feel particularly cold.

01:41And further south-west the wind eases for a time before it changes direction, that brings

01:45some thicker cloud in by the end of the day but temperatures recovering a little compared

01:49to Saturday but not much, we're looking at 9-11C across the board.

01:54Now this system is ahead of an area of low pressure that is going to dominate things

01:58for the first part of next week, that low arriving from the west, it's going to swing

02:03its weather fronts across the country on Monday, albeit relatively slowly.

02:07So Monday is a damp day for many of us with a slow moving band of rain, that rain sticks

02:12around for Tuesday and turns more showery into the first half of next week.
