Hello, and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. We do have some
00:04
fine settled weather on the way for most of us, and that's because we have high pressure
00:08
that's building and going to dominate the picture. You can see this towards the south
00:11
west of the UK at the moment. However, notice some fronts will still be toppling over the
00:16
north of this. So particularly across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, it will
00:19
be cloudier, cooler and a bit damp at times. Elsewhere, with high pressure building as
00:23
we go through the weekend and into next week, lots of settled weather to come and rising
00:28
temperatures too. Back to the here and now, and as we go through Thursday evening, yes,
00:32
some cloud and some rain, particularly towards western parts of Scotland. Also quite a cloudy
00:36
picture across Northern Ireland too. But elsewhere through the night, largely clear skies for
00:41
many places. Watch out for a few pockets of mist and fog first thing on Friday morning.
00:45
Notice temperatures aren't going to drop much. Most places holding up in mid-teens could
00:49
just about get into single digits in some prone spots, but perhaps around the London
00:53
area, temperatures really not dropping much here. Could stay around 15 or 16 Celsius for
00:58
some here, so an uncomfortable night of sleeping. As we look through Friday then, a bit of a
01:03
blustery start across some northern parts, some brisk winds here. Also a bit of rain
01:07
still across far western parts of Scotland, but this should break up as we go through
01:10
the day. A spell of cloud and rain will feed in across parts of Northern Ireland and perhaps
01:14
the far south west of Scotland as we go through the afternoon. But notice across England and
01:18
Wales, lots of fine sunny weather to be had and here in the sunshine, temperatures really
01:23
rising. Could get highs of 28 or 29 Celsius towards the south east, so feeling pretty
01:27
hot indeed. As we go through the end of the day on Friday, we will see this cloud and
01:32
few spots of rain feeding into northern parts of England, so a bit of rain to watch out
01:36
for here. Also notice overnight a couple of showers feeding in across parts of Scotland,
01:40
but elsewhere some largely clear skies and lots of dry weather to be had. Again, a few
01:44
patches of mist and fog to watch out for and also temperatures perhaps even higher than
01:49
through Thursday night, so notice in the London area it could be again a pretty uncomfortable
01:54
night for sleeping. A quick look towards Saturday then, and for many it is going to be a fine
01:59
day, plenty of sunshine to be had, perhaps a little bit cloudier with a few showers to
02:03
the far north north west of the UK, but notice temperatures maybe just down a touch compared
02:09
to Friday. Some of us may feel that's a little bit more comfortable. However, by Sunday yes
02:14
there's a bit of cloud and perhaps some rain toppling over the top of Scotland, but for
02:18
many again lots of fine sunny weather to be had and notice those temperatures rising,
02:23
so greater chance of getting into the high 20s, mainly in the south east but even across
02:26
other parts of England and Wales some mid to high 20s expected, so some hot weather
02:31
for most of us. However, temperatures are going to rise further as we go through next
02:35
week. Definitely worth keeping up to date with the forecast wherever you are. I'll see
02:38
you later.
