00:01Good morning. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's a very windy
00:05start for many of us out there this morning, particularly across the west where we've seen
00:08some coastal gales and we'll continue to see some very strong winds as we go throughout
00:13much of Sunday. A bit of a brighter start across eastern areas this morning. Plenty
00:17of hazy sunshine on offer through the afternoon, but further west, a bit of a wetter picture.
00:22Some outbreaks of heavy, showery rain push their way northwards as we go through this
00:25afternoon. I wouldn't even rule out the odd rumble of thunder mixed in here too. Staying
00:30a little bit drier across the southeast, but where you do see that sunshine, it's going
00:33to feel really quite humid compared to what we've seen recently. Highs here well above
00:37average for the time of year, 25, 26, perhaps even 27 degrees, and even across the north
00:43we could see temperatures into the low 20s. So a much warmer day than we've seen recently
00:47and a much more humid day too, despite those very brisk southerly winds that we'll see across
00:52the country. Those winds do start to ease a little as we head through Sunday evening.
00:57The southeast holding on to the best of any dry and clear weather. It's the best chance
01:01of seeing the total lunar eclipse here through Sunday evening. But further north, further
01:05west, we continue to see that rain pushing its way north and eastwards. Perhaps some heavy
01:09downpours still possible across parts of Scotland, but generally turning drier for all of us as
01:14we head into the early hours of Monday morning. And those winds really turning down a notch,
01:18although still a little blustery around the coasts. With some lighter winds and that more
01:23westerly wind direction by the time we get to Monday morning, it will be turning a little
01:26bit fresher, particularly across in some rural spots. We could see temperatures dropping down
01:31into the high single figures, though Townsend City is likely holding up into the double figures.
01:35But it will still feel quite a bit fresher to start on Monday compared to Sunday morning.
01:41It will still be quite a bright start as well for many of us on Monday morning. Some blustery showers
01:45will feed in from the west, but generally those winds are much lighter on Monday compared to what we
01:50saw on Sunday. There will be some sunny spells developing between those showers too. One or
01:54two showers could be heavy at times, but with those lighter winds, it will still feel pleasant where
01:59you do catch the sunshine through Monday afternoon. Despite those temperatures being much lower than
02:03Sunday, they are generally around average for the time of year 20, 21, perhaps 22 degrees across the
02:08southeast and closer to those mid, maybe high teens further north. There's then further changeable weather on the
