00:00I want to start by offering my congratulations to the ACTT and to NTA.
00:0420 and 25 years with a focus on quality.
00:08There's nothing to be sneezed at and I want us to give them
00:12some of the stuff was mentioned of the early pioneers.
00:16Thank you for your service.
00:19Located in the heart of Tobago, according to the education minister,
00:23the new office symbolizes the government's and the THA's dedication
00:28to providing accessible and innovative training solutions
00:32as well as transforming the higher education landscape on the island.
00:36It means that quality has been on our mind as a nation
00:41for at least 25 years and that is a significant thing
00:46for a small island developing state.
00:49The education minister said there must be quality education.
00:53Educational tourism is a big thing and quality is at the fundamental core of that.
01:00So if we can offer quality education and if the ACTT and NTA
01:05can make the strategic partnerships that allow persons to see
01:09study in Trinidad and Tobago as a viable option,
01:12then that is an area of development that we must explore.
01:17Chief Secretary Fahli Agustin in delivering remarks said
01:21vocational education remains paramount.
01:24As a former educator in the secondary school system,
01:29I feel strongly that as a society we have to prioritize vocational education.
01:36In fact, I'm of the belief that there ought to be a parallel system
01:42with parallel importance between traditional academics and vocational education.
01:50And the vehicle to achieve that is through the NTA,
01:55which will allow us to create a much more innovative society as a whole.
