It's been two years now that an elderly woman has been contending with a leaking roof on her HDC apartment in Oropune Gardens. Now, with all the flooring compromised and mold covering the walls, she's reached out to TV6 for help. Rynessa Cutting has more.

00:00A terrible, a terrible, a terrible one. I don't know.
00:19It was back in 2022 that Anne-Marie Hicks first noticed the issues in her apartment.
00:26In 2022, the tiles burst up in the bedroom and we went and made a report and the supervisor
00:35came around. It had a workman with her and she was just like taking the report, but the
00:41worker had on the steel tips boots and he kicking, kicking and he said, but all hell
00:46loose.
00:47The subsequent weeks would reveal more concerns.
00:50The first bedroom, where we noticed water coming in, so it coming in from on top, because
00:59it's a three-story, you know, and give the amount of water. Well, it starts subtle now
01:05until, you know, it build up, build up here this night or two o'clock, three o'clock in
01:11the morning when I get up to go to the bathroom, give this water, water.
01:17Eventually, the problems spread throughout the entire apartment with water coming in
01:23every which way.
01:24Mopping, mopping. So we go into the next bathroom now, where the ceiling, the water coming down
01:31on the ceiling and the mold, all the dirtiness and all this, everything coming down. So after
01:39that now, was the kitchen. That evening I hear this cracking, cracking, cracking. And
01:46that was in March this year. Yeah, March early this year, they send somebody and they
01:53take the room and they know what they was looking for to see the earth shifting, I don't
01:57know, whatever. And with that stay there a little while before they actually come back
02:04to pick up all the rub, the rubbish.
02:08Ms Hicks and a friend, Clifford Critchlow, say they have made several reports to the
02:13HTC office in Maloney about the issues, but to no avail.
02:18I went up more than 25 times and I get tired. AGC, when they come here once, they went upstairs
02:26and then they went downstairs. They say some leak taking place to the upstairs and it affecting
02:34second and this floor.
02:38With the flooring compromised and the air quality poor due to the constant moisture
02:43and mold, Ms Hicks is begging to be relocated.
02:47It was scary. It is a situation where I don't know what would happen next. And I keep telling
02:54Clifford, I say, one of these days soon, the whole upstairs might collapse on me. You understand?
03:03They had to hurry up and make a decision. Shift me out and seal around here so nobody
03:10ain't going to be here and what, because it's scary. It is very scary.
03:15TV6 News contacted the HTC for a response. The corporation has given the assurance that
03:21it will contact Ms Hicks and says an investigation will be launched on Tuesday.
