One Tobago woman had enough of waking up sick and tired, and became so fed-up of being in that state that she decided to do something about it.

That's when she decided to embark on a weight-loss journey. Mrs. Afiya Giles-Baynes spoke with TV6's Elizabeth Williams. More in this report.

00:00To be honest with you, I was just tired of being tired. I was ill from PCOS to
00:07swollen feet, persistent migraines, carpal tunnel, you name it, I think I had it,
00:12right? And I was tired of just being ill and so I decided that it was time to
00:19regain control of myself, of my health, and I decided to start this journey.
00:25Mrs. Afia Giles-Beans told the TV6 News that the journey started in
00:31September of 2023 and from then there was no turning back. My sisters, by
00:38choice, not by blood, Melissa and Melora, they recommended Dexter Simon to me and
00:43I was immediately sold and when I started his program I benefited
00:51directly from his expertise, from bespoke programs that are just
00:56tailor-made for you and it was a journey that started off extremely challenging.
01:03It's still challenging but my discipline kicked in. Gym owner, professional
01:09bodybuilder and transformer, Dexter Simon says anyone can lose weight but the
01:15person must be disciplined and consistent. In his program, diets are
01:20tailored to suit each individual and he offers exercise routines virtually. When
01:26people say they can't lose weight, some people can't lose weight because of
01:30several different reasons. One, the application is not correct. So as you
01:36said, they think you're doing the right things but you have some key things like
01:40the time they have dinner, the amount of sleep that they get, the quantity of
01:45protein that they're intaking, if they're not exercising at all, the portion sizes of
01:50the meals, just to name a few.
