00:00Missing aFuture
00:13Ladies and gentlemen,
00:14to complete a project successfully,
00:18it is important that you figure out the project deliverables and milestones
00:22and record them.
00:24When I say that it is important to figure out,
00:26It is dependent on your end as to what are the deliverables you keep as a date and what are the deliverables on the basis of which you will earn money on completion and secondly, how do you set milestones in them.
00:41Three things are very important in project deliverables.
00:44First of all, we will discuss the draft phase by giving an example.
00:47Look, I told you that I am a graphic designer.
00:50The draft phase means that if an employer awards me a logo project and I keep its price at $100, that's just for discussion sake.
01:03Sir, after the project award, I have to give sets of different logos, right?
01:09I cannot convince the employer on one logo.
01:12I have to tell him that I am giving you three or four different samples.
01:17Based on that, if you like what you see, we can improve that draft.
01:21This is called the draft phase.
01:23There are two things associated with this draft phase.
01:26One is the timeline and the other is the price.
01:29Now, the first factor is the timeline.
01:32Since this is the draft phase and you are creating artworks for people.
01:36By the way, I am giving an example of a logo.
01:39You can correlate this with your work, with your skill set.
01:43So, when you are talking about the draft phase, you will say that I will deliver this in this time frame.
01:51It could be two days, it could be one day, it could be five days based on your time and experience.
01:57Secondly, what is the price associated with this particular draft phase?
02:02Obviously, you have to give the delivery time and you have to give the price.
02:06These two things matter a lot.
02:09Always remember that nothing in the world is free.
02:14It is free, we will talk about it later.
02:18But when you get the project award, it is not free.
02:21Before the project, a lot of things are free.
02:25So, in the draft phase, kindly keep these two things in mind.
02:28Which time frame will you give the output keeping in mind and what is the price associated with it?
02:41Secondly, final output based on draft.
02:46Imagine, while giving an example of graphic designing, ladies and gentlemen, my logo has been approved.
02:52The client says, using these colours, I like this design more or less.
02:59This means the work is done.
03:01Now, here you have to give the final output.
03:05Determine its time and its price.
03:08The first milestone, which was the draft phase, took so many days and its price was this.
03:13Now, the output is complete.
03:17This is the timeline.
03:19It will take 4 more days to finalize or 4 more hours.
03:22I believe in hours, not days.
03:25But since you are a beginner, you can look at it at your own pace.
03:28And secondly, this particular milestone costs this much.
03:34So, it is possible that if I gave you an example of $100 related to this particular deliverable case,
03:41then I will keep $25 for the first phase, which is the draft phase.
03:46For the second phase, which is the output phase, I will keep $50.
03:51And for the remaining $25, which is the third point, deliverable outputs.
03:57This means that when I complete the logo,
03:59all the formats that the employer wants, high-res source file,
04:04because obviously, if they want to print, they need high-resolution.
04:08Artwork will not work, which is low DPI.
04:11Along with that, employers usually prefer different types of output in different formats.
04:19For example, let's give an example of logo.
04:22There is JPEG format, PNG format, GIF format, so on and so forth.
04:27So, it is on the discretion of the employer.
04:29It is dependent on the employer what output they want.
04:32But I will give a few hours for this final output.
04:35For a discussion sake, for all those graphic designers who are watching this video,
04:46I typically do a logo within two days, which includes the draft phase,
04:51then moving down to the final output, and then, of course, the deliverable outputs.
04:57So, kindly,
