The concept of Freelancing is different from a conventional job because it gives you the freedom
to be your own boss rather than being employed by someone. Freelancing is for all those people
who are not happy with their 9-5 jobs, and don’t want to follow the mechanism of conventional
jobs. Freelancing is better than any other job because it gives you freedom of time, and there is
no need to follow a formal working environment. But hard work, self-assessment, and dedication
are the most important factors to be a successful freelancer.

00:18If you know how to present your work, and how to show your work to the employer, believe
00:26me, half of your work as a freelancer is over.
00:29Many professional freelancers complain that they put in so much effort but do not get a response.
00:39When I see their portfolio as a volunteer filling in the employer's shoes,
00:44I see that their work does not reflect their structure.
00:52So therefore, when the employer has options to make the other person's work look better,
01:00he ignores them.
01:22The second is by having a website where you can talk about who you are and you talk about your portfolio.
01:32Then you give them an access to contact you.
01:36These are the three things in a website.
01:38You tell them about yourself, you showcase your portfolio in different links, by the way.
01:43And then you give a way for the customer to contact you.
01:48The third important thing, ladies and gentlemen, is social media.
01:51Using the power of Google+, Facebook page, and YouTube.
01:58Now these three things present your skills towards an employer.
02:03Because when you make a freelance marketplace profile, you will be advised to give your website address.
02:09You will be advised to give your social media links.
02:12And the more your presence, the more the employer will get to know about you.
02:18The employer will get knowledge about you.
02:22And then the most important thing,
02:24you make your website and create your portfolio in it.
02:30Tell them about yourself and make sure that people can contact you.
02:36Why am I saying all these three things?
02:39When you can present your work as a freelancer,
02:41a description and a profile picture, that would suffice.
02:47Why do you need to have a presence elsewhere?
02:49Why do you need to have your work present on social media?
02:53Why do you need to have a website?
02:55This is so that when you grow over a period of time,
02:59and your brand will also grow,
03:01people will be able to contact you in different ways
03:06for their work.
03:10Personally, I get work from my Facebook page, Being Guru.
03:14I also get work from my website, Being Guru.
03:16People fill in the form and say,
03:18I saw this or that content,
03:20or I saw this or that video,
03:22and I am coming from social media,
03:24and I want to give you a project regarding graphic designing or web development.
03:30Because obviously, I am running a small scale company.
03:35So, it is very important for you to present your skills,
03:37and do that effectively,
03:39not just on a freelance marketplace,
03:41but also on social media.
03:43And by social media,
03:45I do not specifically want you to refrain from using other social networks.
03:53Pintrust is very important.
03:55Google Plus does not seem important,
03:57but it is very important in the outside world.
03:59I have received a lot of work from Google Plus in foreign countries.
04:01We do not use it in Pakistan.
04:04And of course, in Pakistan,
04:06we use Facebook profile a lot,
04:08but we do not use Facebook page.
04:10So, kindly use Facebook page,
04:12talk about your portfolio,
04:14upload your videos,
04:16upload your content,
04:18brand yourself.
04:20This is very important.
04:22So, it is very important for you
04:24to present your skills effectively
04:26on the digital space.
